LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

A Walk To The Finish Line by jk5000 2017-12-05T15:47:30Z

I love this entry, I love puzzle games, so this one was right in my alley. Finished it in one swoop, while some levels were trickier than others, so I would probably switch some levels around so the difficulty curve was steadily rising, but might depend on the person playing.

Sweet little puzzle game, would like to play more levels :]

Haven by William Bundy 2017-12-05T15:28:44Z

Very interesting game, played it for a longer time than more of the other entries. First UI screen is overwhelming at first, but I quickly got used to it, in the future if you add a tutorial while trying to explain them with some missions like *build a hut* and then go to the other next day, it would make it more accessible for people, who are scared away by a chunk of text.

Overall I like the style and executions, minor stuff I would like to points is that, time is not paused, when you are reading some events, either making you make chaotic choices, so you don't miss anything else or missing a lot, ...and events go by really fast. Might have been intended though, in which case it need just a tiny bit of balancing. Other stuff I noticed, is when you remember the color coding for various types of effects, you can just choose the positive ones accordingly (like blue is trader if you need him, or green for finding useful resources). And the last thing I would like is kind of a queue on building stuff that spans days, so I don't accidentally reset the progress on it.

Great game, played a lot, would play a more full version for sure! Good job!

Walk in the Park by kraftkar 2017-12-04T18:48:20Z

I like the choose your own difficulty/reward system. As I understand theres not much to do with the earnings, other than just having it as a score, of how long you actually played the game, so theres nothing stopping you from walking only one dog and easily gain money.

I love the art, especially the low poly trees in the background. Other thing I would welcome is better use of the camera, basically jumping just screws you since you are not able to see the ground/level at all. So I would rather see the level instead of sky and trees.

Otherwise controls are responsive and "leash spring" is a nice addition. Good job!

Temples of Purgatory by Gulyasarni66 2017-12-04T19:08:58Z

Love the level design, art, music.. well basically the whole package. Minor stuff I would nitpick is that I lacked either a sprint button, or make the player move a little faster, which might make the game a lot easier afterwards so balancing may be an issue, but as it is now it seems greatly balanced (finished with 7H).

Maybe add some sounds for the enemy, either a spawn sound or just a creeping sound so he player knows hes not alone.

Overall audio really fits the beautiful retro graphics and atmosphere in this game is great.

PS: weird thing, the scariest was the snowman for me.

Health Hazard by PeculiarCarrot 2017-12-04T03:23:31Z

Wave 7 on first try, but gets hard really quick, which is a good thing as it is still fun! Great audio.

Santaur's Special Delivery by tweedle 2017-12-08T00:48:10Z

Like the music, centaur Santa is fun as well as the graphics style. They might have been more simple structures repeating as it got boring really quickly, but time constraint is a thing so I understand.

Also as others mentioned just spamming space is not really fun, especially when the gifts have some velocity when thrown as well, which makes it kinda harder to aim, so just spamming till you make it.

Overall a good jam entry, good job!

Dungeon Raid by kbf123 2017-12-04T04:14:23Z

Sadly, same problem as baknik, the art looks awesome would like to see it in action :)

Dungeon Raid by kbf123 2017-12-05T03:00:41Z

Ok, it works now! Finally get to play the game! The art really shines in motion and create a unique blend with the music.

Managed to get all 4 endings (nice art!), so I guess you can't outrun the boulder... so don't be greedy! Getting every other piece was a little tricky, thanks to the weight/jump mechanic, but not too difficult.

I would probably slow the animations a bit, little fella is moving his legs too much, otherwise it's fine short minigame.

Enjoyed playing it!

Working Death by geck0 2017-12-26T19:21:17Z

Great minigame. I would love to have some kind of radius indicator, because often I thought I am hiding out of range only to see Death going for the kill and basically screwing me on that level.

Larry Kroft and the Temple of Booze by thomz12 2017-12-05T13:55:13Z

Great game! Love the treasure concept, that you have to use it as weights and weapons, really unique.

Implementing a kind of checkpoint system would we awesome, and maybe changing the shoot direction or at least animation, so it doesn't clip through Larry, might even be a fun one, tossing it behind him while sweatily running away.

Puzzle Trubbles by rsim 2017-12-04T03:54:25Z

Trubbles over, Seems like keeping the gun straight and just waiting till the ship is right above you is the easiest way to play, maybe too easy, but the concept is great and I enjoyed playing it!

Puzzle Progress Prototype by saucygames 2017-12-04T05:38:57Z

Don't know if its intended, but one of my yellow blocks didn't snap to a grid and behaved like a rigid body, rotating and falling. It snapped when I made a move afterwards, but it was a little unpredictable where it would land. Otherwise would actually like to play it on mobile, since I like my puzzle games and this one has cool concept.

Garbage Disposal Tycoon by kernel-panic 2017-12-05T00:19:25Z

Too bad this isn't finished to a more playable state, it looks great!

Ice cream stacker by DankyPants 2017-12-06T02:21:45Z

Cool little minigame. As others already mentioned 3rd level froze my tab and balancing one cone is the hardest part, lost instantly on pressing play =] It is fun nonetheless!

Rhythm Bandit by fashionbatman 2017-12-04T22:24:48Z

Dig the retro theme and music, they mash really great. The moving tiles though, argh, yeah. Might have been better to keep the tiles non-moving and instead shine a cone like light on them and change the light color based on the rhythm (or just a transparent-ish circle sprite). That way it wouldn't be as distracting and might still look like a dance floor. Anyway, good job!

Addtris+++ [Now with post Compo Update] by 5you 2017-12-04T20:54:21Z

Played on windows, even though I don't like tetris games very much (mainly because I suck at them) I enjoyed this one, because of the wacky shapes. Seemed to my like some pivot rotations were really off, even shape consisting of 1 block was rotating, which caused some of the blocks be stuck at the wall or weirdly in the others.

Overall it gives a great retro handheld vibe, with a music that fits perfectly.

.SWARM by Hegemege 2017-12-04T21:02:35Z

Love the wrapping effect, actually wondering how you managed that. Graphics area really enjoyable and the game itself is really fun. Haven't seen anything like this one yet.

Timeless Memories by Neowedge 2017-12-04T22:58:55Z

Nice take on the theme! Love the music, unfortunately the game crashed for me as well, didn't have to guts to try restarting the game.

The Star War 2: The quest for more money by eerongal 2017-12-04T03:33:11Z

Haha, didn't expect that when I started playing it. Turned into a funny gimmicky game really fast!

Presents by gilborn 2017-12-04T21:08:48Z

Great christmas-y mood and I really like the lowpoly models. It gets boring quickly, but thats not a problem with a game that puts you in a mood fast like this. Put your Santa hats on, everyone!

MAGNETOGRABBER 2000 by kroltan 2017-12-04T21:48:24Z

Like the graphics, maybe the bottom bar could shine a littles less, but that's my opinion. Controls are a bit clunky and take a lot of time to get somehow used to. Other than that its a good distraction for a while :]

Lights, Camera, Action! by gamesplusjames 2017-12-04T19:31:52Z

Nice work on this classic arcade-y style game. Only thing is I had to mute the beats after a while, it was too much.

Kalyuka by soyrandom 2017-12-04T21:42:05Z

Basically agree with the comments above. I really like the wrapping effect, but enemies don't seem to take it into account, which would add a little bit of difficulty. Other than that it would be nice if basic enemies would be a more distinguishable (not in art but in behavior - just a little speed there, projectile here), they kinda feel the same with just different graphics. Those are just REALLY minor things though. I enjoyed playing it, very good job!

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-04T03:07:01Z

Wow! Art and music is on points and it plays flawlessly. Really enjoyed playing this one :]

TetrisTank by shrekshao 2017-12-04T03:10:59Z

Hehe, pretty fun mechanic even though I suck at tetris. Can't seem to be able to click on replay consistently but spacebar works with that :]

Sorted by Ryan Temple 2017-12-04T02:59:32Z

Kept me clicking for a while. It takes a lot of time to actually get anywhere challenging though, was catching crates midair till like 2 minutes. Good Job!

A Hero's Burden by muffty 2017-12-05T13:40:11Z

What an awesome game! Or a base for a even more awesome full game. Enjoyed it very much, voice narration is really well done.

As gameplay goes, only thing weird were collisions in mid attack, if I got attacked in the middle of the swing I got teleported behind everything, otherwse it was a great experience.

In the middle of the cutscene, where you are introducing your companions, I thought it would be cool if camera showed them as you named them, but as I understood the premise of the game, I wasn't sure, if it wouldn't tamper the atmosphere.

Anyway, very nice entry!

get>set by rela_x 2017-12-06T00:12:21Z

Amazing, love puzzle, this one gets quickly to the point with its minimalistic style. Would probably change the unity standard shader even just a little, and maybe play a little more with the controls. As they are now they take quite a while to get used to with how the camera is set up.

Very cool game, really enjoyed playing it and audio really fits in, which makes the *mood* great.

MILF Of All Bombs by DiegoCTorguet 2017-12-04T22:12:27Z

Flying this ship feels awesome, controls are responsive and its just fun. My ship jitters a lot when playing though, not sure what is causing that, as the movement in the above video seems to be smooth.

Enjoyed playing nonetheless.

Kids, Don't Do Wild Magic by ErikU 2017-12-04T04:09:48Z

Yeah, learning curve is through the roof here. Takes a while to even get the controls, while the ice mage is wrecking stuff :D Looks great and I love the fire effects!

The Floor is Lava by BinarySpark 2017-12-04T22:16:53Z

Pretty fun game, was a little harder for me, as I was dying really fast, but enjoyed every bit of it. Well executed, plays smoothly. Would maybe like to see a little more down, but thats just... not that important.

ArenaBots by Lazzor 2017-12-08T00:41:02Z

No audio is a bummer as said already. Every game I kinda rotated on the tank side and while still perfectly able to play it looks weird and kind breaks any immersion the game had. Graphics area pretty good and shatter effects are awesome.

Also didn't want to be that guy, but there is no source for your game or at least I could not find it. Since it is a compo game source for your game must be included (refer to https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules)

Hangover by gimbalock 2017-12-04T20:22:31Z

Sweet balance game! Takes a while to get a strategy to progress even further, so it seems you spent some time balancing. Minimalistic and fun.

Horny Bunny by Thomas FUentes 2017-12-04T22:34:00Z

Those sprites, oh my god, hilarious. Awesome game!

PresentPort by Firephoenix 2017-12-04T04:25:23Z

I like the splitting concept.

Under the cocanut tree by cirrem 2017-12-04T04:44:30Z

Music goes really well with the level and the game itself is pretty fun! Watching a fat pirate roll around, yeah :D

Mana4Life by dawik9000 2017-12-05T01:59:21Z

Oh, the chicken dance. Interesting concept, but it doesn't work for me that much, since a don't like to get hit in a hack/slash games. Still it was fun playing through this since I LOVE to cast spells **UNLIMITED POWER**. Cool game nonetheless, good job!

Seems like your audio levels are not corrected, menus is really loud compared to the game, thats just minor stuff though.

Mana4Life by dawik9000 2017-12-05T02:10:58Z

@darkanhell Oh I see! Thats pretty cool.

A Dying City by minimurgle 2017-12-04T05:19:05Z

Good concept! Clicking through every bit of city part is a little tedious though. Would like to see this in polished mode. Btw those great charity events for UnityEngine.GameObject, would donate...

Spin Attack by ditzel 2017-12-04T21:19:00Z

Great puzzle concept, executed fine. I would probably like to have a little more faster controls with the objects, but that is just me, it works like this. Good job!

Scissor Lift by Jakub Panek 2017-12-04T15:47:36Z

Menu is probably the highlight for me. Would be great if you could go up/down as you move left/right as it could save a lot of precious gaming time. Enjoyed playing nonetheless.

Frank's escape by Nyri0 2017-12-04T18:40:38Z

Good job on making your first 3d game in UE! Tried playing on a controller and controls feel okay, only thing that feels weird is the camera in narrow corridors, which is probably not something easy to do in the alloted time (at least I wouldn't be able to do it). As a prototype kinda game, it works and I love the main character model, while every other model fits well together (maybe except the helicopter :D). Don't really see how it fits the theme though.

Overdosed! by Madbeagle 2017-12-04T22:03:21Z

Interesting idea. It's really confusing at the start, had to read the description twice to understand it a little. It meshes elements of precision, management and randomness really well and it plays okay.

Seemed like I was only able to treat some patients from one side, also it would be great if the color indicator changed the color of the injection at the top, or something more indicative.

Really cool game overall, good job!

DEEPER by vizitas 2017-12-04T20:42:45Z

Really atmospheric! I got totally lost after picking up first treasure and before I realized I could use the bubbles as a compass I found a second one. Great experience playing through this, lighting is nice, and that you can't see behind a corner is a great touch that adds to the atmosphere.

Asteroid Crasher by erebus 2017-12-06T01:45:59Z

Fun little game! At first I felt like the music tempo didn't really fit the speed of the ship, but I like how the music changes throughout the playthrough. Really like how the game is clear on what it wants you to do e.g. tells you the gate is *small* so you kind of know what to expect, but I kept forgetting the pickup count, so some small UI or maybe cool shine effect on asteroids when you have the required count.

Also as someone else already mentioned, you can pick up what you need quickly and cheat it by rotating away from the screen, so you don't collide anymore.

Just my 2 cents, thanks for the game!

Rocket Jump by RahmKota3 2017-12-04T05:05:44Z

Good old Quake times.

FLOCK by BlackAtlas 2017-12-04T03:03:46Z

Looks great! As others mentioned, even though the controls are smooth it would probably be better, if you could use your mouse or even a controller :]

Motion only by DavidLibeau 2017-12-04T04:03:03Z

Would love to see it in VR twitch mode!

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T14:41:17Z

@are-sundnes Hi, thanks for feedback, could you please try this build and tell me if it works or what the problem might be? Its a zipped file, with an .app inside. https://tinyurl.com/GetInShape-MacOS-2

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T15:59:45Z

@tuism ok, last chance for a mac build, then I have to give up, since I sadly don't know what the problem might be. https://tinyurl.com/GetInShape-MacOS-3

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T18:05:43Z

@tuism Thanks for testing the Mac build, glad it works now! Nice points as well, I actually tackled the idea of needing to have more modules active or die as well, but it seemed like it would get boring even faster, so I decided to make the real challenge actually survive for some time with all of them activated, while not punishing mistakes as much. There might be better ways to go about it, so I might do some postcombo build :]

About the keyboard jam, I thought it would be a problem as well, but it worked suprisingly good on my machine and didn't get a single hick-up, it will be something I look into in the future definitely.

Thanks for the feedback! Cheers!

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T19:34:35Z

@game-coder28 One room should be easy enough. To actually complete the game is to survive for 20 seconds while ALL the rooms are activated, which adds to the difficulty. So the less time you spent on completing the game the better :] I just added highscore for surivval, for anyone, who can't complete the game (since there was no way for me to measure the difficulty by just testing myself). Thanks for playing! Maybe try to finish it :]

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T19:53:18Z

@remco Agree on your quit point, realized it after playing it AFTER the submission. And you're right on the spamming part as well. I had a tough time actually balancing the game, especially the water room, and suddenly there was no time left... Really good points, thanks for feedback!

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-05T22:11:05Z

Thank you all for your feedback! Learned a lot from it and have already a lot of notes, how to make it a better experience for the player.

@tiberiusuciu I know about the spamming issue, sadly it wasn't something I could balance in time. Wanted to have only one room spammy (L climbing), but then I didn't manage to make the K water and J laser one more distinguishable. Definitely something I will try to remedy.

@diegoctorguet really good point on the A room, something kinda hard to discern as a developer, but I can see what you mean. Will try to work on this in a rebalanced version. Music pulses are a really great idea, kinda go with the rhythm, that might help the player. Thanks!

@ksbdude Will definitely try to make a system better suited for this concept. Unfortunately time is strict in compo, so this is what I managed in that :]

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-05T23:28:01Z

@poroh Hello, it works for me! Its a link to dropbox, it just says that rar files cant be previewed, maybe that was the case? If anyone else can confirm that, that would be swell, otherwise I will look into it.

Hot & Cold by Swen 2017-12-05T00:43:28Z

Watched this game on MrOdrez stream and just had to play it as well. Awesome mechanic and would love to see this one extended into a full game! Really cool!

Ethereal by _benhumphries 2017-12-04T03:38:34Z

Enjoyed playing, only thing that seemed weird to me was the floor texture moving with you, feels like the character is not moving on the floor. Otherwise really good! Good job!

Ethereal by _benhumphries 2017-12-04T03:38:59Z

Enjoyed playing, only thing that seemed weird to me was the floor texture moving with you, feels like the character is not moving on the floor. Otherwise really good! Good job!

Snake Force by JeffChen 2017-12-04T04:21:09Z

Looks awesome, plays awesome! I got a little overcooked vibe with those puff clouds. Cant believe this was made in 48 hours, seems really polished. Btw I pressed SPACE, muhahaha. (and kept pressing it!)

Snèèz! by Mazzletov 2017-12-04T19:58:33Z

I think the game turned out as intended (?). As minimalistic it is, it's really cool and everything from audio to graphics and UI blends together really nicely. Even if it is random, it felt too easy, but thats the hard of creating the game *balancing*. Good job on the game! Really put together nicely!

Robo Tomb by Xacur 2017-12-04T05:26:55Z

Got really spooked by the music after the long silence, it fits the game really well though. Like the art as well. Maybe some checkpoint for levels? Anyway, really great game!

Robo Tomb by Xacur 2017-12-04T05:46:34Z

@Xacur Oh, guess I need to really go to sleep. Got pretty far even without saving though :D

BoatAfloat by StratosKakalis 2017-12-04T19:48:46Z

Was gonna mention the exe problem as well. Just take it out of the folder. Love the mode and chest model! Controls are smooth and camera follow is great. Too bad theres not much more content after that, as it seems just evading is the way to go, while theres not any useful pickups or incentive to do anything else. All in all, good job!

Solaris by Villfuk02 2017-12-04T16:08:24Z

Love the visuals, really pleasing to look at and the controls feel smooth.

The Infernal Knowledge by Koficola 2017-12-04T22:49:04Z

Actually gave me a chuckle, the artwork is amazing. Seems like there is not much to do, than just to find the door or throw stuff at poor cthulhus, but the atmosphere makes up for it now. Can see this be build into something bigger. Really good job!

Little Pleasures by Belea 2017-12-04T23:11:19Z

Smashed everything and it was really enjoyable. Interesting take on the theme.

Btw grabbing works with my left button even though games says to use the right one. Just minor stuff.

Coffee Break by Akscan 2017-12-04T04:00:03Z

Would be great to know the controls and not trying to figure them out, or maybe a little tutorial (even text at the start). Sometimes game doesnt prompt the action (problems with raycasts maybe?). I like the lowpoly graphics though :] If polished it could be something.

One Matter by toboggan 2017-12-04T04:57:41Z

I love the concept! I like to play puzzle games in general and this one could go a long way if polished more. Didnt really get into the controls, I was falling left and right, because of the inertia, would rather solve puzzles instead of focusing on moving. With that said I like every other thing about it, and will try to finish it after a good night sleep :]

Gladiator Monsters by BenBurgh 2017-12-04T19:42:36Z

*Wait What* and I got totally wrecked, while thinking I will be the boss. Like the mechanic and that it actually forces you to choose upgrades if you have money, so the strategy completely changes when you play for the second time and know what to do. Adding the bestiary is a nice touch!

Doug Bones and the Cursed Lava Lamps by Wibblymat 2017-12-04T16:25:46Z

Played in Opera and controls are okay-ish. As others mentioned the collision bug is frustrating. It could be a pretty solid fun minigame if polished a little.

Mini Mystery by MarshCannon 2017-12-04T21:55:26Z

Works for me. Well actually, if I want to replay it launches an error so I have to launch it again, but it runs.

Anyway, really interesting idea! Reminded me of those old Warcraft 3 custom games, where one player was the killer. I like the execution, it works really well and you have to keep your eyes peeled. Good job!

Shoot - Keep Your Score Down. by GoldenHart 2017-12-04T19:16:27Z

Topdown shooter with a twist, enemies actually try to evade you! Cool idea, as minimalistic it is, it works.

Was gonna mention the freeze bug as well, was only able to play it once after launching.

**For people with window size game mode:** try hitting **ALT+ENTER** it might go fullscreen.

Leaning Tower by Patrick D 2017-12-04T16:31:46Z

Simple and fun!

My Nuts Weigh Me Down by Slyddar 2017-12-06T02:32:51Z

This game is nuts! ... yeah ... Really fun entry, like the premise, its neatly executed. Only nitpick for me is that I started riding a log on the left side but there were no logs to jump to. Might have been just really unlucky but it felt kinda unfair. Cheers!

Quibbles by LKS1990 2017-12-04T04:37:00Z

Didnt expect to get raped by minibals and thrown out of the platform so fast, haha. Better not be greedy, cuz.... the more you have..!

Ricochet by Adam Coles 2017-12-04T20:29:31Z

Feels weird pressing R on a keyboard when playing with a controller. Otherwise as others mentioned, this game could have used audio greatly, other than that it plays kinda smoothly and just unleashing ricochet hell feels really fun.

One Million Dollars by Luxorix Games 2017-12-04T03:46:10Z

Great artwork and music! Kept me sticked to it till about 20k, just going to bar straight from work.

Duplicating Aliens by Abdonatioera 2017-12-04T21:25:33Z

Great concept, I like that your clones basically work as more lives, so the more you have the... better? Anyway it is really fun to play and I love the models.

There seems to be a *feature* when you leave some clones behind, enemies target them, so you are free to mow them down. Minor stuff anyway. Cool game!

The Fast and Fastidious by ariake81 2017-12-09T15:16:48Z

Gameplay-wise it could use some more elements, just mashing mouse button gets boring faster than you even finish. Artwork is awesome, little more animations at the start wouldn't hurt. This is one of those games that would benefit from network highscoreboard.

Bee Holder by Feedlipe 2017-12-07T12:59:25Z

Will have to try it with someone as well, but enjoyed playing single for a while. Would be kinda cool if the stinger actually points as you as they close in (so maybe some rotation, or other efffect), and wasn't really sure at fist how to collect honey and what the bubble does, so that might be better explained ingame. Otherwise, nice little game, cheers!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

LO2OP by MrWahloh 2020-10-05T20:31:45Z

Great take on the stuck in the loop theme! Graphics are great. I quickly figure you can just hold R / Space, which made the game a little easier for me, but boy it got harder pretty fast. Sounds were okay, background music fit the aesthetics pretty well. Good mini-game! Final score: 231114

Lucy Liuper (~DreamLooper) by Prostone 2020-10-06T08:13:34Z

@marc-antoine-girard We had to fix bounding boxes at the of the jam, so this was an oversight on our part, it wasn't possible in our prototyping phase. Well spotted and thanks for feedback :]

Lucy Liuper (~DreamLooper) by Prostone 2020-10-06T19:13:04Z

@hank-ather They should move exactly as you did before you went to sleep, so they will activate levers and plates for you to places you would otherwise have no access too (except for the wall jump, which is a bug :] ) Thanks for playing anyway.

Lucy Liuper (~DreamLooper) by Prostone 2020-10-14T22:09:22Z

@CandleLight Thank you for playing and your feedback! Yeah, we really liked the mechanic from the get go, just didn't really manage our time properly. We only had 2 days for it due to work and we didn't really realize the game as we wanted too. We might come back to it later to at least polish the level or add some more and actually polish the movement and jump. Thanks for the alert on links, no idea why they stopped working, but I refreshed them with new ones :]

The Curse of Cattenburg by Honest Dan 2020-10-06T19:31:17Z

Wow, this is incredible game, I love card games and RPGs so this was right up my alley. I would even play a full fledged game with this mechanic. Animations were smooth, music fit really well and I adore the artstyle. I could't use warrior special for some reason, but other character special worked properly. I was most likely lucky as well since I arrived to the boss just in the second loop, but it was a pretty hard battle when he one-shotted my bard on the first turn :D Great game!

INCORPORATION CORP. by Kilian BAPTENDIER 2020-10-06T18:30:11Z

Nothing says zombie apocalypse more than a few boomerangs returning back to you with zombie stuck to one and a cupboard stucked to the other. I played on windows with controller and everything worked fine. Well, maybe except a endless vibrations after final cutscene, which is not an issues since quit gets rid of them :] Very fun game, found it actually pretty easy - but the carnage more than makes up for it with those nice animations and satisfying sounds. Nice entry.

Boomie by Chris Hall 2020-10-05T21:05:38Z

Love the idea, was having fun till I got stuck behind a door, because I walked through when it was opened but it closed on me before I recalled the rang. Was having fun playing this one. Note: I had to switch to edge (i know), when I was playing in opera, game froze when boomerang looped (so the core mechanic)

Out Of The Loop by pikachurian 2020-10-06T16:11:51Z

We had really similar ideas! Enjoyed playing with it in 3D though, robot idea is pretty cool. Tutorial at the start was meant to be seen through the opened door or are you supposed to solve the first one without recording? Anyway nice one :]

Among Stars and Robots by jaoel 2020-10-05T21:20:47Z

This is really fun, I love puzzle games like these! Looks very polished and has all the features of a finished (mobile) game! Animations are great, music fits the graphics/theme. Was stuck in a loop more than a few times! Really polished for a jam game imo! Note: Possible bug, you can swap commands when the action is playing (it doesnt stop the time) and new commands are not taken into consideration, robot is still repeating the old ones. Stop and play works thought :]

Chicken Leggacy by Magic_mike 2020-10-06T18:22:07Z

The graphics with the music are the bomb in this one - I was laughing at the start already. A little on the harder side for me at least, but really fun anyway.

Bob the Time Travelling Square by SciDev 2020-10-05T20:13:44Z

Love the minimalism. Took me a quite a bit of time to go through the text and didn't realize there were buttons in the top as well to control the game with at first (was lazy to read it all at first, ~sorry!). I would like to have buttons for it as well. Anyway I finished a few levels and its great little puzzle! (basically similar to what we did, but you have more levels :D)

The Holy L∞ptown by DesertMaw 2020-10-06T18:43:37Z

Really enjoyed the art and just strolling through the village. Animations are great, music fits and wasn't too distracting even after a while. I actually understood what to do (except the guy in the mine?) - but I picked the sword as my 3rd item and prior to that I didn't really understood what to do againts the boss, so I was just trying to get killed faster at that point. Boss fight was actually really souls like which I really like, but I think it didn't really quite fit the other things you do in that game as it seemed more like an adventure (puzzle) type of thing, where you search for things and use them in specific place, but I get where you're coming from :] Nice entry, enjoyed finishing it!

Froot Loops Delivery Job by InefficientChunkOfCode 2020-10-06T19:11:19Z

Great concept for a stack mini-game. As others wrote audio was a little bit on louder side (I actually found it a little too distracting even when lowered down as it is too high pitched). Cool art and the stacking is done really well, I haven't encountered any issues with that and it just looks sleek.

Donuts On Donuts by SlimmerBurger 2020-10-05T21:24:59Z

Well this game is doNUTS (~huh?). Love the crash sounds (is that your voice? :D ). Graphics are awesome and donutting as well. Breaking all the time made the game significantly easier, maybe there should be a time limit for a loop? Great mini-game!

Stuck in a Loop by RameshBlue 2020-10-05T20:04:18Z

Like the aesthetics especially the campfire and explosion effects. Little planet is a great concept, always love seeing those. Also probably just my issue but I had the game a little "shifted" - enemies killed cut in half (cant scroll up) and mouse targeted buttons only when I was a little higher. Not an issue though :]

Survived for 72 seconds anyway :]

Doodle-Oop! by Hank Ather 2020-10-06T18:58:27Z

Really cool mechanic and great art-style. Got the hang of it after a while, but I still found it a little slow at the start. *HONK* *AHO*

Jessica Calls by yellowmoleproductions 2020-10-05T20:36:49Z

Not enough sausage for the hounds nooooo! Great idea, fits the theme and looks great. Music fits the graphics as well. I found the time to fit the items a little too strict, took me a few restart, just to figure how fricking fast I have to move AND remember everything in order, but maybe I am just that bad. Enjoyed the idea and execution.

Endless Night on Galaxy Railway by cuoshen 2020-10-05T20:25:42Z

After the intro like that I was expecting something completely different with that gorgeous Nella in there. Jumped of the train afterwards anyway, it was a fun little ride, but took me a couple of guesses on how the train worked, mashing space seemed to just re-roll the dice, but after waiting train moves properly. Also would have welcomed to see all text after another space mash, but it was not an issue. Nice moody space adventure.

Legacy Looper by BellringerQuinn 2020-10-05T21:09:19Z

As others wrote, Play is probably obstructed. Tried in different browsers with the same result.

Escaping the Void. by Oulsen 2020-10-05T20:46:20Z

Great addition! I like the idea, I was not really stuck in the loop though, finished in the second loop. Love the artstyle, music fits it really well. Interfaces with text are responsive and everything works well together.

Death Day by Nekopi 2020-10-06T18:52:48Z

Artstyle is awesome and the music fits. My remark would probably be, that I found the main character incredible slow and with the dying in the dugged hole with water (which was electric even though I didn't start the generator yet) it was pretty tedious to do again. Arachnid was pretty awesome with the music change :]

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Get to the choppa! by cvetk0 2021-04-27T19:43:49Z

Pads are a little harder to see, but they worked for me with no problem. Controls take some time getting used to, as they are not fluid vertically as they are horizontally, but after a while and with patience it was okay. Nice entry with questy feeling. (Also landed on the door that opened afterwards and the choppa just stayed in the air :])

Erasmus Singh: The DEEPHUNTER by SimoGecko 2021-04-26T20:18:52Z

Depths of Hope by gustavo.christino 2021-04-28T13:48:38Z

I dont have the nice background ingame, but I have that awesome rolling shark. We have a pretty similar games tbh in terms of basic movement concept. We didnt even think about adding sonar or scan, damn. Love the chill music, would love to see this a little more polished with something more to do :)

The deepest heist by Adrien Dittrick 2021-04-26T21:01:22Z

Sooo much content. Great ideas and actually awesome story, nice!

Sub-Optimal by Spice Cabinet 2021-04-27T20:00:36Z

You can casually fly away in the the sky and over the terrain. 5/7 "Is that a plane? Is that a bird?" - "It's a sub."

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-04-26T19:25:59Z

River and chill. Awesome music.

PANEMUAN by etrealjunior 2021-05-06T12:23:35Z

Great minimalistic art style, which is complemented by the nice audio. Intro with appearing words and story telling are a great touch with this kind of a "journey" game. I didn't really understand the level where you are chased and all you have to do is jump over some boxes, but afterwards you get nice environment with a meaningful story in the background. I would prefer if even the chase level had some kind of background that would fit the story as well. Also there was no indication that you can even go back in the last level, since in the chase one, you just die if you do, and the first one does not change a thing. Might be nice, if there is some kind of an indication in that regard, maybe just a few added objects, or possibly some other story mechanic, so to choice at the end seems more meaningful. All in all this is a great entry and really unique. Good job!

Third Dimension by JuliusCube Arcade 2021-04-26T19:37:50Z

Controls are a bit challenging, but the puzzles have greatly thought of learning curve. Nice idea with this game.

LD49 — Unstable

Elemental Slime by rayriver 2021-10-06T14:09:09Z

I love turn based games and elememental play, so this was a great combo for me. I could not finish the large level (possibly the last?) with the slime holding the shield, as it is quite tedious to actually move the distances, when you have to mash the button and I basically gave up. The level design could use some work overall for sure, but I love the idea, and even the first few levels are a great (without the health mechanic even making it in there). I can see this being a turn-based game for mobile with level design tweaking (i.e. Lara Croft GO, and other GO games).

City of Cards by TheGamer1123211 2021-10-06T10:25:47Z

Unfortunately, I have a larger monitor, and cant see the UI in-game. Menu itself is fine. No idea, why unity is no longer showing resolutions dialog at the start like it used too :(

Don't Panic by csLupius 2021-10-05T13:19:33Z

"3,6 roentgen? Not great, not terrible..."

I like the minigames approach as they are still true to the unstable theme, with the overarching unstable reactor at the core (heh).

Was holding for a long time (in my eyes), but then sinus waves got me.

Just some small notes - menu for retry is not properly scaled in window mode and minigame with elements is not properly scaled on fullscreen - at least in my browser.

Great submission!

Unstable Stick by joewan 2021-10-05T21:29:16Z

Really difficult after a while, but such a treat anyway. Flips detection was such a surprising mechanics, that I just flipped through two levels. Nice game!

Instability by R3L0ad1 2021-10-06T19:47:07Z

Looks like everything was already mentioned, the retry, difficulty, rope physics yada. So... Perfectly polished graphics and feel! Great submission!

ENTROPY by egawag 2021-10-06T23:31:51Z

One of the best games I played this LD. Feels like three LD themes mashed together - "stuck in a loop", "Unstable", "The more you have the harder it gets".

Great minigame, the music is soft and does not get irritating at all even after a few loops and greatly complements the visuals, which are fantastic (except the white blind-flashes at night, I hate those, but it fits here completely).

Probably the only think I can think of on improving is the fps controls - possibly reset the angle or something on attaching, because I found myself in that over the head spiral, where you cant really move the mouse/view as you would normally to all sides, if that makes sense. Like if you look up in some FPS, you cant go more to that direction and have to rotate another way to reach the point you want. And in a game where you can lose your orientation in 1 sec, it might be 'something'.

Anyways, one of the best entries I encountered so far, good job!

Unicycle Scientist: Saves the World by MrWhimble 2021-10-06T10:15:34Z

Controls are responsive and just like a real unicycle you have to lean forward. Game itself is ok, but on my larger monitor the UI and intro is not scaled properly, might just be unity detecting the resolution badly though. Nice graphics and gameplay :) Next level might be to actually balance the chemical as well :D

// OVERDRIVE by Bastienre4 2021-10-05T16:14:45Z

Love the polished graphics/effects. Overdrive is confusing at first. In this game I think a camera shake would fit really well. Nice game!

Cyberduk by abvadabra 2021-10-04T23:24:44Z

Really thematic, unstable right from the start (in the good sense), but still behaves fairly to the player - as in even if unstable it is the players fault if he falls not the physics. Love the aesthetic as well.

Wreckmate by posho 2021-10-06T10:34:21Z

Takes a while to figure what to actually do, as the from movement is a little too unstable for balance purposes. On second try I got to next level, but when I almost toppled and everything slid back off, I managed to balance it back only to find the ship is no longer moving at all (was at stable 24m to island at that point). Graphics are nice, music is non-disruptive and adds a great atmosphere.

The Eye of Glower-On by UkuleleFury 2021-10-04T23:20:26Z

As the tremor works right away I wasn't sure how to use the orcs at first, but since I accidentally clicked the boulder I realized I can click the orcs as well.

Great idea, love the thematic approach to LOTR.

STABUFO by Rrawrr 2021-10-06T10:21:58Z

Love the idea and "possesion effect".

The controls themselves seem a little clunky to me, I felt like the A-D should be swapped at first, till I got used to it. And also is there anything else to click on with the mouse? If not I would think the just clicking anywhere should get you moving or jumping, especially with the wonky camera that clips sometimes.

Other than the controls its a solid entry, with a scalability for something larger.

Shockwave Surfer by Tom Kun 2021-10-06T23:38:09Z

Love the effects, but boooiiii is it hard. It takes some practice, but I suck at these, so yeah. I found the music a bit too loud as well. The concept is great, maybe moving the controls more into view of the player would be nicer, because you run to the right but controls are on the left, so I was looking at them and completely missing some jumps, but that might just be me sucking.

Elephants Never Tumble by zappablamma 2021-10-05T10:04:16Z

Cute little game. My strategy was to build on the left instead of the elephant, as it still counts, but didn't realize after I looked at your screenshot again that you can stitch items with elephant, that's great!

Wobbly Penguins by bqq 2021-10-05T22:59:13Z

Ok, I should stop playing games with cute penguins at night, jesus, that first encounter. Enjoyed it to the finished, even though I feel like the styles did not really mash that well, but both seem interesting on their own, especially the penguins. Anyway, nice entry, graphics are awesome, slide mechanic feels fair and controls are smooth, I feel like it can be a mayhem kind of game on mobile to pass time.

Crazy Kitties by Mighty Tiny 2021-10-04T23:13:07Z

Love the graphics and animations. I had to reaaaaally try to die though, but from the comments you already know the timing is a little off :)

A Spelling Error by Naymsayk 2021-10-04T23:14:44Z

Can confirm, the link is not working. Be sure to have the project in PUBLIC (not in draft or restricted mode).

Pub Tumble by GrevaNU 2021-10-04T23:10:16Z

The effect is really well done! Found it pretty difficult right from level 1 though, might be better to ease the player into the gameplay :)

As other have mentioned - this in VR - Oooofffff.

LD53 — Delivery

Orb on the Borb by someoneman 2023-05-01T22:24:26Z

Sensitivity seems to be a little high, but that makes 360noscoping the balls away quite easy!

Delibeery by Lopapagames 2023-05-03T09:52:17Z

I can see this being a great chaos game after a while, when you have a lot of bees - and to try and manage them all. I would suggest playing with camera panning, so there is more to see depending on the bees, they get lost too easily now.

Lost & Found by droo shayne 2023-05-03T09:49:03Z

Love the aesthetics - mood and music nailed. Nice entry!

Last Delivery by greenphox 2023-05-02T09:01:03Z

Great atmosphere and landscape, in contrast the underground was not that interesting, but ... it's underground. I got stuck on the first dog, since I thought it would be below me, so I kept going in loops, so might be better to at least have the first delivery more straightforward.

I think you nailed the music and mood :)

wizard path by slimetrash 2023-05-01T22:20:33Z

HTML link works great for me, just to "counter" the first post.

Took me a while to figure out I can drag and drop the arrows for the wizard to move and that R can be used to reset the level :) Might be a good idea to write that as well to description - or I am just slow.

Love the ambiance music, really fits the minimalistic graphics style, I think you nailed the atmosphere!

Also I love playing puzzle games like this, so right up my alley. Good job on making so many levels for jam game!

Galactic Dropoff by c0010 2023-05-01T22:12:02Z

Nice idea! Obviously slinging your ship out of the planet is the greatest invention for space travel, spacex should include this in their next planning.

Got to the level with two blue planets and one other earth-like one and was not able to score one delivery place :)

Might be cool to see the actually pulls of the planets somehow like magnetic effect or something.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-05T22:25:29Z

Awesome puzzle, got the pizza! I was surprised how the simple mechanic can scale in difficulty at first, but after another level I think I saw everything that the cube can offer, since it is just a line afterwards. So the curveball with moving with the "avoid these guys" was a nice touch - I don't really do puzzles that need precise timing instead of logic, but it was needed in this one.

From my point of view the level design was great with the mechanics introduced and the next step would be to introduce some disruption to the straight line mechanic - not sure if it would work but maybe let the cube rotate or move at least up/down might be enough of a change of pace to move with another few levels. Possibly add another "checkpoint" cube that lets you start from that point instead of the starting one, or play with maximum lengths. I think this idea has tremendous potential for puzzle minigame :)

One of the best entries I tried so far (sucker for puzzles, thanks for the game!)
