Well I think the game has potential, great audio sets a nice mood, but I feel the game lacks content. Also during my playthrough I came across a point where I felt I was no longer within the map. Despite these I feel the game is quite enjoyable! Good work!
I can only agree with the comment above. The atmosphere the music and sound effects in combination with the graphics create is really nice and definitely feels desolate and post apocalyptic. Also nice to auto scroll the screen down, works as a gameplay mechanic and fits the theme. Controlling the submarine has a nice floaty feel to it although chasing fish to scan them can be frustrating.
Other than that, there is just not enough to do. After scanning two fishes you have basically experienced all there is to do.
Although to be fair, I saw a shark doing backflips. That was pretty sweet.

Really nice game and atmosphere. It is cool cause it does feel the the infinite depth of the sea. There are small details you could change right away which would be cool, for example have the rotation stuck on the shark, so when you collide against it he doesnt go bonkers.
The ship or submarine is nice, but it feels too floaty sometimes, I would put some down speed to it, not only left and right.
The audio btw is aweeeeeesome!!!

The art is great, I like playing this little submarine. The audio is very satisfying. However I would like the camera to follow me when I go deeper, instead of waiting for it. The shark unexpected agility got me laughing.
Very cute game, I cam see some sort of 2D Subnautica potential.
Only movement and scan worked for me on a keyboard. Other keybindings didn't work at all. I also tried pressing all the conceivable buttons  and nothing worked as "shoot" or "sonar". On a controller, only movement worked, nothing else. And scanning seemed like it did nothing - no information was displayed, and I saw no other effect.
It seemed a bit confusing that the world kept scrolling on its own and I couldn't just go down faster than it is scrolling. I wanted to dive deep!
I liked the setup and general concept. I think that with some more work, this could be a nice game :). As it is now, there is just little in it to do. Or maybe I missed things because of the broken controls. And I met this crazy shark bouncing off the walls which really made me laugh. Definitely +1 for the shark

I like the atmosphere, is very relaxing. Some buttons did not work for me, I am not sure why

I dont have the nice background ingame, but I have that awesome rolling shark. We have a pretty similar games tbh in terms of basic movement concept. We didnt even think about adding sonar or scan, damn. Love the chill music, would love to see this a little more polished with something more to do :)

Obvious understanding of the topic.

The subtle synth sets the mood perfectly. Sadly I was unable to use the sonar, weapons or scan
If you ever work on this game again, please do not fix the shark animation. It's perfect the way it is

Right scope, still needs a bit of polishing, good job anyway.
I've played this with a friend. We had a great laught everytime we found a shark. We are still descending... Is there anything down there?
Most of the buttons didn't work as well. We could only use the analog stick. The music and the submarine sprite were great!

Just played Depths of Hove and to summarize in one word: chillout!
I really enjoyed the feeling of just descending and slowly avoiding the sharks and collisions.
Music is very atmospheric, Sound Design fits nicely to the submarine and the environment, Sprites and Art are great looking!
Had lots of fun playing it and imagining what may be found in the deepest of the deepest of the Depths of Hope.
Congratulations on this Ludum Dare entry, guys!
Best regards, Caio Varalta
Nice graphics and sound. The camera moves to slow and the sharks are hilarious.
Had to switch to keyboard as buttons on controller did not seem to work (stick did though). Was a little confused on what I was supposed to do... I did scan some fish, and the shark it clearly having fun.
Mood, graphics, audio all excellent.
eh, the scroll is slow and it automatically skipped the instructions page on my screen so i was going in pretty blind. it's graphics are adorable and i love them but the gameplay wasn't very good. of course it would be way better without time constraints i know that but its overall pretty ok.

The graphics and sounds are cool but the camera goes down too slowly.
fun game with a great potential to be reached if it is worked with a little more time. increase checkpoint mechanics and shots the game will gain another shine.
First things first. I didn't understand what I had to do the entire game. Some controls doesn't work, J doesn't shoot and L doesnt do anything either, the only controls that work are WASD and Scan (K).
I don't know why hiting the wall causes "damage", I think it was meant to be damage but there is no health indicator and no death mechanics, I hit the walls and sharks several times but nothing happens.
Camera goes down too slow. There is no point in sacanning since it does nothing.
No sound tracks make the game more boring.
Sfx are quite good but nothing special.
Overall: Low-rated game. Good luck!
The graphics are great and the music is nothing to scoff at. I just wished there was more to do.
Very fun game. It seems that there are a lot of games related to the deep sea. The gameplay of this game makes me shine, that is, I feel that the audio effects can be designed well, and the others are very good!
Good entry, but I wish there was more to do in the game. It took me a while to understand the controls too. Love the visuals and the mood though. Good work!

Played the post jam version. - maybe the scan ability should be enabled by default as there didn't seem to be a downside to it - there were no more fish apart form the two at the very beginning and a derpy shark - I wished I could go down faster
Love the art. I'm sure most people have mentioned that the auto-scroll is way too slow, and having the ability to "push" down the camera would have been great. That said, the sound is atmospheric, and aside from a few, as @inno put it, derpy sharks, it was pretty well done. Nice stuff!
I think you guys did a great job setting the mood! It feels very mysterious and even slightly unsettling at times! After playing for awhile I eventually got to the bottom of the map and quit because there didn't seem to be anything down there.
Deep concept and the lore is quite enticing. Synth ambience sets the mood, however would love to hear some evolving. The game itself is actually hard to control, the camera is slow, some keys (but Scan) just didn't work for me, and the shark idea is confusing (is it bugged or just so very sick?). At some point I got somewhere wherefrom I just couldn't return, just the deep screen of hopelessness. Some bubbles (or glitches/noise), more substance and sfx would be appropriate here. Overall, thanks for this entry, I've plugged my mind to the sub-lore you've got there, and had an interesting image on what's happening.
Nice job with theme and the mood!

I think having a normal camera here would have been better than making it an autoscroller. I'm rather fond of the spinny sharks though.
The graphics and the sound gave it nice atmosphere but I had no idea what to do. I could only scan and this did nothing, the other buttons just didn't work. I also didn't really understand the story so this didn't provide any clues. I also tried the post-jam version but I had the same problem with the controls. Half of the buttons not working made it a bit boring of course. As I see in other comments I did think the shark was funny but I think it doesn't really fit the serious mood you try to set with the story, the music and the graphics. Too bad the controls didn't work I would've liked to actually see the gameplay.

Hey (played jam version) Very cool ambiance and sound, Yes the shark makes me laught too. I agree with comments above about your camera choice is quite frustrated maybe you had a more contemplative
I love your chill ambient music ^^
Love the look and feel of the game! I did feel like there wasn't much of a goal here, but the sounds and atmosphere are very relaxing.
Likkee 20/10 graphics is very good, True, the management has failed , we need to refine it a little

Hello, your game is very relaxing. It is interesting to explore the depths of the sea. I think the gameplay is a little confusing at first, I didn't understand the features correctly, although I don't think that extruded the experience. In general, the graphics are beautiful, as well as the sound. Congratulations.
