Link does not seem to work for me?

thoastbot 2021-04-26 20:29

Itch.io link“s to 404 - is your page public? Graphic looks great, please tell me if u update the link!

rgb-games 2021-04-26 20:30

The itch.io page does not show up. Maybe you forgot to publish it. There should be a publish button in the top left of the "edit page" screen. Hope it helps :)

Oh Wow! The game is drop-dead gorgeous for a Jam Game, definitely one of the best ones I've ever come across. Reminds me of the classic MSDOS games on the UI and gameplay-side of things.

I think the minefield was a tad bit too dense and made going slow the more preferable option, but aside from that I really enjoyed the game!

@prostone @thoastbot @rgb-games Sorry we were still finishing the page, it's now public and ready!

The visuals in this game are crazy good, I love the very stylistic sprites and UI.

Hey there! This is a great entry. loved the art as well as the interpretation of the theme. It is very well executed and has the potential to be polished even further if you wanted to. I think my only gripes about the game were no exit button and the controls seemed a bit tight. Both of which are minor things and really don't detract from the experience!

Keep up the good work and see you next time!

Pretty visuals, gameplay is fine. Game becomes very hard if you dont want to spend 5 minutes slowly going downwards

Good gameplay, good art, the steering mechanic is a well made core mechanic. I really miss the sounds tho

jmartinez-gamedev 2021-04-28 21:05

Amazing drawings the quality and detail in them is great. I feel like having more responsive controls with an increase in enemy speed to compensate would improve the overall gameplay.

Really great take on the theme ! You do not often see games making you pilot a submarine, and yours did not disappoint. The control scheme made for a challenging but immersive experience.

Strenghts : - Great cartoony art - Fun controls (speed was fun to control) - More depth (no pun intended) than initially expected

Possible improvements : - Streamline the UI a little bit

Great entry !

Wow! The graphics are outstanding. I would really like to see a comic as an intro :)

reblys 2021-04-28 21:12

Cool game ! I liked how the inertia of the controls punishes the player for being too hasty. You have to manage speed, direction and fuel at the same time, watching what comes underneath. That's a pretty solid formula. Some sound effects and music would have been a nice addition to serve the underwater ambiance. Anyway good job :)

Quite fun game with gorgeous artwork! The submarine was a bit frustrating to control as steering was really hard and I ended up feeling multiple times like I couldn't stop myself from dying multiple as a bunch of mines just appeared out of nowhere and killed me. The shock button doesn't seem to do anything? Maybe that could have helped in those kinds of situations. And again the illustrations are amazing.

metalfox-dioxymore 2021-04-28 21:16

There is no HTML5 version on your itch.io, but the Ludum Dare page says otherwise... Did you forgot to upoad it =) ?

The art is GORGEOUS. Thats was surreal quality for a game jam. The game itself is nice, but the controls are really not intuitive : to go down, you need to press "up". Yeah, I see what you wanted to do, it's more "accelerate/brake", but it really didn't feel natural in that context, at least for me ^^'. The submarine steering was also a bit frustrating.

Overall, a nice concept with awesome graphics, but the gameplay would need some little tweaks here and there to be perfect ^^

Excellent artwork. I like the controls on the right. Pressing up to go down faster was a bit counter intuitive at first bit I got the hang of it. Also would have liked a keyboard bind for the dive/restart buttons. I didn't see any coins. Were there coins?

maxcreed 2021-04-28 23:47

Everyone here said it but i say it again, Art was gorgeous. It was a simple but nice entry and i reached around -1100m (I suck hard on this haha) My only feedack is that maybe you could make the shock a bit more obvious of its range? Took me a while to get it to work. Great entry nonetheless!

redneckchan 2021-04-29 07:41

Cool graphics, simple but fun gameplay. If you added any sounds, it would be great! Also, I didn't immediately understand how shock works, I thought that it destroys, not repels bombs.
