Ha nice game. finally made it to top 10 (The highscore board is a nice feature) but my eyes really hurt lol...
The control is made very smooth. The game is in fast pace so it's really hard to stop. I can tell the moving pattern of the enemies are well tuned, making the gameplay challenging.
If there's something to improve, I would say it's the graphics. I saw another game where bullets gets bounce at the border, in which it use lighting and particle system to make flying bullets really fascinating. (But probably since you are using game maker that may not be that easy).
FYI: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/the-exalted#/comment-102782 . I think the trail renderer, and lighting can make the full screen of bullets look nicer.

I think this is the first ld40 game I get through all missions. Near perfect. So pity that doesn't fit the topic that well. But pico8! Who cares I found a bug (feature), white ball doesn't fall into the hole (-_-). I thought it was cat until I saw the instruction text...
Haha, good game! But give use the cover image or we won't let you go!
haha. I don't know. I just love this, I know it's a bit rough and far from polished. I just like this feeling. One thing annoying is the aiming direction reset to pointing down if not pushed the joystick.
Well done! My favorite part is that the pipe is not rigid it can be bended. It feels so good. When I finally reached "Now you get it"... I just smiled hhhhhhh
I love this minimalism! The graphics work with the bgm so well, making the game feeling elegant and noble. I didn't expect you finally came up with so many level design ideas when I was at the first few levels. Great potential to make it a mobile game and launch in app store
Wow, awesome idea! Turns out to be harder than I thought. Really like the particle and lighting effects! 5 for graphics!
Game with high completeness. I like all the details and juicy features. The visual, audio, control feedback is just awesome. You must be a veteran for game dev!
@OldPeculier Yeah. It's easy to fall down then letting enemy pass through at this time. It's needs more tweaking to make all weapons getting balanced.
@tusim Yeah the game lacks some tweaking for a balanced game play. I tried to make it both challenging and easy to start during the last four hours, but seems it's still way to go. (The top left enemy with a number is a ui showing how many enemies is allowed to pass through. It's like the concept in tower defense) The weapon also create impluse and force to make it topple. Also the blocks have different weight.
@halouverite Yeah I agree with you. I originally want to add a sub camera for next block to come. But limited with time, I add the feature where you can put the block to ground to destory it. Made the base narrow cuz I want you to fall lol. Should get balanced better though.
@belowparallel-ian The tank cannot move for now. Yeah there are a long way to go for polishing. One idea is two tanks fighting (can have local multipler). And more control on the weapon can provide better strategy
@cerno-b Wow! Thank you so much for this detailed play test report and valuable suggestions! And I should definitely use this giant tank as the game cover, or at least a screenshot on itch.io. (I personally didn't reach this large even with hacking (by drag and drop in unity editor lol)). Again Thank you so much!
@cerno-b could you share the gif with me? At least I want to see how you did it lol
@interface You got it! Two tank versus each other would definitely made a great local multiplayer experience.
@urnext7634 W for rotate, S for accelerating the drop
Turns out this undertale like danmaku is a great way for story telling in a low cost approach but with lots of fun. New skill acquired β
BTW I choose Umaru. (Also prordered a PVC from GSC)
I originally thought the head was an egg to hatch lol.. Until I saw it getting fat. I think with more time to polish would make it really fun. Like customizable CJ in GTA SA
I think it the best among games using the idea of collect more coin/gem and more danger to get noticed. The sight circle is really a good call. Graphics, control, and audio all do a great job to provide quality instant feedback. Besides, the game being fast-paced just made it hard to try one more time.
Awesome! This simple idea just turns out to be so well implemented! Feels sorry for this stupid squad shooting at each other all the time... Compared to another game I played using the similar idea. The control and graphics are just way better. Turns out having a top down 45 degree camera doesn't have to suffer from the movement using arrow keys. just do a axis align move. Nice skill learnt.
Well done! It even has a tutorial session! Gameplay is already complete and well tuned. Though I find that always pressing asd at the same time can work hehehe. Impressive that everything is done in 17 hrs. My game also borrow some concept from tetris!
!!! Brilliant idea. I'm really interested in how you implement it!
Well made. Did you played the one where you try to carry multiple coins? I think your game has more content, also more control. But man it's really hard!
@chin-jieh FYI: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/greedy-buggy
Stupidly fun lol. The control is very nice. Would be better if distance to shore is shown.
Like it! The control is tuned very smooth and has instant feedback. There's blooming effect added to the coin I found it so sweet. It's really happy to find somebody also use physics to make the core mechnism! Cuz my game shares some similarity! Try mine if you haven't! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/tetristank
I'm getting jealous of great artworks of Jam games... Is it for android (since it's a jar). Again, the graphics is really cool. Board game has some learning curves. To make the battle scheme works more interesting, I thought about https://mekagem.itch.io/regxkcd . Might be helpful for expanding the battle logic.
High standard as usual! Thumbs up. As a non native speaker, I was stuck at trumpology....
cyberpunk bartender! Wander why purple is always fit for this theme.
Hahah really fun idea. when I try to cheat using Chinese character, enter just doesn't work.... so sad
Cool gameplay idea and solid implementation. Very easy to learn the rules, the tutorial mission is definitely what I always want to do but just failed to add one in time. Oh and you use openfl? Excited to learn about this, time to pick up my flash and as3 skills again
graphics and animation are just perfect! high completeness! Getting the color tone and gradient and ao looks nice is always what I want to do but fail to do so. Respect.
@aeveis removing function is actually made at first but somehow I hide it... Cuz the original idea was you can't add buildings on your own, but just wait for spawning and remove those not working well. I should reveal this functionality back though, with like 5 gold blocks needed for removing(after my vacation lol
@carlos-giraldo The design tries to make you properly deploy builds and roads so that each type(color) of block can be produced at their fastest speed. But clearly the production speed is far from getting finely tweaked to make it very challenging, you are fucking damn correct about this lol
@laurim Wow! Thanks for this feedback. Honestly I never played this long to discover this bug. (The deliver task actually push to a queue. it might be because when business task ask for red there's always nothing left?) But certainly a valuable feedback. And thanks for playing this game!
Ah since I was also making a sim city sort of style game, it's really great to see something like this. When thinking about expanding the city horizontally, the first thing came to my mind was https://store.steampowered.com/app/416210/Blockhood/ . Where you make some modularization system for the building blocks and every of them can connect and build top of each other and create some effects and combo. I think that would help making the physics system more fun. (Though this might be far beyond a compo game hhhh)
ι θ θΆγγ
Should be a Siggraph and DXRaytracing api sponsored game...
Wow really good idea. Though it's out of scope for a game jam game, but I would definitely love to see more potential of this programming on bot schema on top of the AVG style, like some logic functioning, some repeatitive movement interacting with some physics, things like that. (Need help, stuck at finding harold
know it's you once saw the cover image. After seeing your awesome work several times. Same taste of design reflecting your personal style greatly!
Well done as always. Have been enjoying your unity videos. Really like your way of making those editor tools / authoring texture method that truly shows how a proficient unity dev differ from an amateur like me. New lessons learnt everytime watch your videos. Cheers
I will just say something besides the main sacrifice schema (which certainly is greatly made). Didn't expect such a traditional RTS battle shadow system could add this much fun to exploring a map! really has to be cautious for every step and discovering either a lift or a monster is some kind of refreshing experience!
Also I just notice as I play ld games if the art work is not fancy, our brain usually starts to play more role in imagine and tends to make the game a bit more fun. Interesting. Shall I try to spend less time on graphics next time? lol
@goldranger You get the point... A control system for individual weapon is planned at first. each will have a limited tilt-yaw, rotate angle so that you can control what exact components (vital connections) you want to attack so you can get more control of what weapons you can get. Thanks for playing and commenting!
@flukeshot Thanks for the good words. Certainly there's a lot to improve honestly. But for the control, I designed that so that your right hand can use mouse to orbit lol.

@banjoduarte @hygon Be together!
Snipaste_2018-12-06_23-53-48.png
Build a ship by pressing G (cheating) for fun haha
@james-dunlap Several of our players report the mouse selecting issue while some others seems to be fine. Turns out it might be machine dependent at some degree. I use Physics.Raycast (Unity) hitting bounding box to do the selection test. Do any of you have any idea for possible reason causing this issue?
@pkenney Thanks for the valuable suggestions. The wing object as you've mentioned, has a smaller bounding box yet no visual aid thus result in clumsy hit test. And I will certainly try spherecast instead. Thanks again for the feedback
wow, the control is smooth as silk. The graphics is not fancy but just work. I can see pretty much juicy features to improve visual quality. When I found out you actually control the missile tracking I soon beat AI and learnt fun things about the game. Just need friends to play in a party. good work!
I also stuck at βOoohhβ¦ Sorry little guy!β
Really curious to see how this game works. cuz I originally want to do some spices evolving living, genetic algorithm related games. Hope to see your updates (I'm windows user might give you some hints for the bug?) @amanda-priest
I found it turned out to be much better than what you said in the description. I always want to make a jam game more complete with a tutorial section but never actually made one ever. You did it. I felt it begins interesting when you pick up the sword. You also have multiple poses picking up your dead body. though sometimes i got stuck keep falling onto the enemy. But anyway you should make some gif and put on this description page!
At first I wonder why you keep pushing the wall (fuck it?) then I realize you try to line up lol
As a rock & metal fan can't stop to give a 5 for audio for this heavy djent among a lot of midi soft source game bgm lol
Lovely micro RTS! like it. And there's some tiny resource management going on as the iron is like a 2nd degree resource kind of a bottle neck for sword.
