Its a really solid action platformer implementation, The graphics and audio are everything that is necessary. Its kind of odd to rank as a compo entry because it does a really good job of what its doing, but that genre is so well developed that it draws a lot of comparisons to way more polished games.

On the whole its a really nice game that i'm impressed you made in a weekend.

I see what you're saying about not being sure if its the game you set out to make, i feel like there's was a more snake kinda intention with a shooter and the tail as health bar.

There's potential but i can't quite put my finger on what it needs to really get me hooked, i think it might be that the movement doesn't fit the gameplay. The constrained map and shooter mechanics needs something more precise. The current movement is cool and kinda "flow-ey", but doesn't really fit.

I should say it felt like a more complete win condition than most LD games.

Also you're the current leader in my "Longest Load Time" Championship.

The lighting looks super cool. I'd have the stars cross in a single motion, the random movement isn't predictable but its still not very hard to avoid early. I had to intentionally lose for a bit to up the difficulty.

I think speeding up the attack animation alone would have improved the combat, as is the animation restarts when you hit space which i think might be why it seems so short to some.

Its more fun after you lose, also the rating system is unclear (do you get 100 for every car through? are there rounds?)

I really liked the concept, i think it needs two things to really get put together: 1. The weapons need to be more predictable, think of it more like plants vs zombies meets tetris meets tower construction, when i'm placing a weapon block i should be strategizing about it instead of just trying to keep the tower up 2. The base needs to be a bit wider to allow for the above, three blocks is so narrow that as you've said the game is more about tower building than weapons and enemies.

Fun to play. As the end screen acknowledges i think whatever you were doing for flocking AI was a bit ambitious for LD. I went in expecting the sheep to simply flee within a radius, but the magnetize to pens and also try to stick together a bit? curious how you did it. The core worked and it had the makings of something but the flocking is frustrating and wrecks a lot of the expirience.

Well put together, gets a bit frustrating when the density of masses gets high late game. maybe a control on density? i think its just randomly placed now. Music is also fitting
