Great submission!

Interesting concept! I'm a bit confused on how to best play the game, I expected that we were supposed to shoot the shuttle's cargo onto our barge but then the barge started sinking. Loved the ship model, great work.

Trubbles over, Seems like keeping the gun straight and just waiting till the ship is right above you is the easiest way to play, maybe too easy, but the concept is great and I enjoyed playing it!

Difficult to aim from that perspective. Seemed like the best option was to aim at about a 45 degree angle and try to blast them as they circle around before they are over the barge.

Clever idea. Is there anyway to get the things off the carrier? Seems like I'll die no matter what?

tomas-selmeci 2017-12-04 08:30

Took me a while to understand the shooting, but then it was just amazing

theloneplant 2017-12-04 09:13

I thought trubbles were a joke about tribbles lol, great game! I like the animation for ships flying over you, very well done!

pixelome 2017-12-04 09:23

The flight path makes it really hard to figure out which shuttle can be shot and which is arriving/leaving. Also, sometimes the gun would not fire. I'm guessing it overheated, but it's really hard to see heat gauge.

It was fun once I got the hang of it. Good job!

matthias-schedel 2017-12-04 09:40

Great idea, I just missed the option of aiming not just on the x axis but also on the z-axis

tuism 2017-12-04 10:40

I don't quite understand how this works...

You want to shoot the shuttles to get the balls off, but the balls will sink you. What's the optimal play? There's no optimal place to shoot them off (like if you shoot them off over the water they won't land on your ship for example).

Plus it's really hard to tell when the shuttle can or can't be shot, that's confusing.

The aiming of the thing doesn't really work all that well, which means the best move is to just leave it on one place and shoot. Which works because the shuttles always take the sameish path so there's no need to aim anywhere.

william-bundy 2017-12-04 10:53

It's definitely difficult to know when your shots will hit a shuttle, but other than that, it's pretty good! Seems like the goal is to shoot the ships as fast as possible to create the fewest trubbles?

the-bm 2017-12-04 15:42

the aiming is sometimes of or depends heavily on the angle...

orcdraco 2017-12-04 16:30

Cool animation and sounds+music! The concept is really interesting. Aiming and getting the right angle is quite challenging, but the game is really fun to play.

Nice Gameplay but the graphics were quite basic and sometimes when you pressed the spacebar it wouldn't shoot, but overall good game

lancejz 2017-12-05 05:14

Cute game, love the Star Trek theme. I got sunk. LOL

exezin 2017-12-05 20:04

Interesting game, I had a little trouble figuring it out at first. You should have named it TRUBBLE SHUFFLE!

rewzu 2017-12-06 15:44

The aiming and graphics could be a bit better. Nice approach to the theme though.

madbeagle 2017-12-06 19:29

I think it could be better from a different perspective, you can't really judge the depth.

tschery 2017-12-08 23:27

Enjoyed it quite a bit =) but hard to tell when a spaceship is hitable

zenmumbler 2017-12-09 16:35

This is the only game in LD40 that thought to use tribbles, which to me seemed like an obvious theme usage. Nicely done and thanks for the tribbles!

rsim 2017-12-10 02:29

Thanks everyone for giving my game a go! I've uploaded a new version with a bug fix for the cannon not firing sometimes - hopefully that resolves some misunderstandings of when the cannon overheats and some of the 'missed' shot issues too.

I've also put the entire project (rather than just the source zip) up on GitHub, as I'll be improving it a bit in the next few weeks. I was looking forward to spending the LD Sunday working on just art and audio, but my time had to be spent on gameplay instead - which was rather disappointing as the main reason I participated in LD was to force myself to practice my art skills! :)
