Cute game, love the Star Trek theme. I got sunk. LOL
That was really fun! I built up really big, then let them destroy it, and I had over 10k gold at the end. I hope you finish this game post LD.
Cool game. Just one thing I noticed, you allow the ship to drop below the visible area and hit things the player can't see. I love the graphics and this type of game. The bouncing shot is a nice touch.
I get a 404 on the Windows Game Link. Can't play your game. Also, all the links are the same. Now there is a price on the game? WTF
Interesting game. How do you get more bullets? I ran out and did not find any. The enemy is a little too easy as well.
This game is hilariously fun! Great job! This would be a great mobile game, better than using a mouse.
I had so much trouble playing this game, I'm just not good with using a mouse for games. Controller support would be awesome. Also, it looks like I can shoot the planets, as I've done that a few times. LOL Friendly fire, here we come! Cool game. It was fun, though I never progressed, too hard for me.
Cool idea, fun game. Not sure how it fits into the theme though. Also, kind of hard, and slow paced.
OMG I love the spurting blood! Reminds me of Monty Python. Great game dude.
Cute idea and game.
Cute game, the level seemed very small, like four rooms? I thought of Decent too while playing it. If there are more rooms, I did not find them. The mouse needs to be locked too, I had to restart the game the first time because I clicked on my other monitor, as the mouse went over there.
What a cute game! The mouse needs to be locked to the window, I kept clicking outside of it, and the window behind it would cover it. Of course, I could have just made a new desktop to play it on. Love trains and the music is perfect. Thank you for not forcing full screen.
I tried to download the Windows Build but there is no exe file in it. Just DLLs for Mono. That DownGit thing sucks. I see the exe in the source code. I have to download it all now. Wow this game is awesome! I love it so much! Great idea, great way of doing it! I can't wait to see more of this!
Your game does not quite pause. The player stops moving but the background keeps moving, and the sound stays on. Thank you for supporting the controller. Also, the chopper tilts way too much before it starts to move. I love how when you hit a person with the copper blade they scream and blood is everywhere. I also like how it is like Coplifter a little bit. Great fun. :)
I forgot two of the folders in the zip file, so sorry, try it again.
I just uploaded the new zip file with the missing folders 18 minutes ago.
It is when a missile hits an Asteroid or it is when a chunk breaks off, can happen off screen, or something I forget. Thank you! I did all the art in Magica Voxel. Jenni (My SO) Loves the asteroids too. ^.^
Well, of course, there could be more FSKR, I scaled to what I thought I could do in a few days. The Radar (The white dots around the ship) point you to Asteroids. LOL Yeah, I did not want to make it easy. I actually had many more plans, but you know, time and bugs. Thank you for the comment.
Oh yeah, post-jam. I have plans, and co-op/vs is one of them. Fight for resources, and against the pirates. I'm glad you like it, and thanks! I have plans to make the camera less static too.
You mean the radar? Yeah, I have an idea on how to fix that, I just ran out of time. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Good advise Shodanon, thank you. You can always bounce off something to stop. ^.^ Remember, the more chests you get, the more pirates there will be. Also, the more ore you get, the more the pirates come after you. That is to fit with the theme.
Did you install the .NET runtime? If not you can get it here. https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-framework-runtime/net47 If you have a Windows version older than Windows 7 that is not updated you will need it.
L and R are for left and right. LOL Sorry I did not explain it better. Of course not, does Skyrim tell you how far away things are? That is part of the fun. Yeah, I did not get time to make it seem like a seemless loop. Well, how many times you need to shot a rock is random for each rock, from 5 to 20 before ore drops. That is how hard it is to get out of one rock. Yeah, the camera movement was in the plans, but I ran out of time.
The music was made by an AI, so you know, I wish they separated music and sound in the ratings. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, just wait until you pick up a few chests. Remember the theme, the more you get the worse it gets. Also the more ore you carry, the more the pirate comes after you. I wanted to so much more, but I ran out of time, and some life got in the way.
Yeah, I was going to do more with the lava lamps, but I ran out of time. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, if you mine first, you would be able to save up ore at the base for extra ships. Then go after the pirates.
Thank you Invixel.
No way to quit the game, and full screen only. Booo. I had to force close it. The game was fun and cute, the music was the best part.
An interesting idea, too bad it was implemented horribly. The ship is impossible to control. Rework the controls and I bet you would have a good game. Also the voice, dude, don't do voice over if you have a horrible mic, it only ruins what little you did for this game. Also, pay to play the game? Are you kidding me? Why did you think that would be a good idea?
A very cute and innovative game! Keeps you very busy, the more you get, the more trouble you are in. Great entry.
Great game! Great idea! Love it. Hope you fix the issues.
I can't play the game.Open AL error.png The reverse sound keeps on going too. The sounds are hilarious.
I hope you enjoy my game! Please let me know what you think.
There is no embed. The download is hosted by Ludum. I uploaded another copy. I tested it, it is working now. It is also available on the source site.
All I did was upload it again. Auto fire, nope, just click the spacebar quickly. That is what I did in the recording. I am still thinking of making it auto fire for the post jam game. It looks like the gif is going faster than the game too. I'm glad you enjoyed the game! In my outline I have four differnt types of enemies, and power ups, and the walls closing in faster as it goes. Did not get time to add those features. I had more to add, but I ran into a bug in my engine that took hours of work away from me. I barely made the deadline. I did make the game from scratch. It is velocity dampening via lack of acceleration, have a look at the source code. My library ("engine") has simple acceleration/velocity in it. My engine that I'm making from scratch is in very early stages, and does not have many features. All it has is an entity manager, and content manager along with some helper functions for positioned options. It is for 2.5D games using 3D models. Of course I will check your game, I used today to recover from jam burnout. :) I also started working on the game post jam, it is in a separate github repo.
Yeah, it is an omnidirectional shooter like Asteroids. The keyboard and joystick/controller use the same functions. There must be something wrong with your keyboard, I tested the game mostly using the keyboard. In the completed version it will have assignable keys. I'm completing the game, you can keep up with it on github, under Squeeze-Play. I've added SFX and sound, and more enemies. I'm glad you like the concept. Thank you for your time.
That music is impressive! Hits the feels right on. Would be awesome with controller support! As it is a kind of dual stick kind of game. Had fun playing it, thank you! I've never heard of Processing. I looked at the web site, visual sketchbook, interesting. I'm more hands a dirty kind of guy, when I started making games, engines were not a thing yet. Everything was just code. :)
Wow, that audio, so loud. No way to turn it off. x.x Can't play it, cards don't move, can't see "?" either. Just two white boxes.
Dang, nice.
I got a B my first game, cool! I died as my mouse went out of window. (I have multiple screens.) I love this game, best one I've played yet. I love the theme so much I would give it a 10 out of 5.
Now we think of a game that fits summoning. I'll be using raylib of course, in my own game engine.
Thank you! I ran into issues near the time limit and was freaking out. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you schizoid2k! I'm old too, arcades of the 80s were my favorites. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Emaigualmc2, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I say that because I use 3D assets, and one pixel per color. Tryx, thank you so much, that means alot to me. I had my wife play it before I uploaded it to help me. Thank you again! rainbeau, thank you! Galaga is one of my favorites, I have one from My Arcade even. <3
Thank you pegasys, I'm a one man team, and old, so I can't do 24 hour coding/art/sound anymore. I would have added more, but as I said before, Sunday I ran into an issue that took over an hour to figure out, so that also put me behind and I had to really rush it.
WildCodePlay, that is not true. When you die, only the enemies left for that wave are there. You get four lives. The wave restarts of course, but with only the same number that you died with. Also the turrets do aim, at times, it is random if they do or not. I made them weaker, as they were too much help in the earlier iteration. I did not get enough time to work more in balancing them.
Thanks Cshep99, that particle effect is part of my 'engine' I made in C++. It uses a pool of course. Well it is in C++ with just the raylib library. I'm old school, I grew up in arcades from the 80s.
Thank you Adam Galina, I'm old school, I grew up playing Galaga in the arcade, I even have one, from Arcade1Up. Thank you, I may have spent too much time on design, and I had to rush at the end as I ran into an issue compiling the release. I had turned down the turrets, I thought they were too powerful. LOL I wanted to do more balancing but ran out of time. Oh, did I miss that issue with the turret shots. Darn it. Thank you so much for all your input! As with other Dare games, I plan on continuing it and putting it out there on my itch.io.
Good tip @sleepystudios I'll make a note of that. I'm glad you liked it, retro is my vibe.
Thanks ryusui, I'm glad you like it. Yeah, I ran out of time to fine tune the difficulty, as I stated before, the turrets were too much, so I turned them down, made it so they shoot more randomly.
Thank you digital bacon, not really modern. Raiden was one of the big bullet-hell games, and it is from 1990, I love that game.
Ah yeah, @someone, that did cross my mind, but I forgot to implement hold down for rapid fire. My bad. Ah, yeah I've had a few others tell me that, I rushed the balancing, they were too much to start, so I nerfed them too much. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway. I'll test the keyboard issue you mention, I did not notice it while testing it. I tested it, and it all works, I can fire while moving Up/left or right and down/left or right.
Thank you @freshd, I'm glad you enjoyed it! *bows* I made the engine for Arcade style games, 2D but use 3D assets. Again, thank you!
Ah, yeah, @someone you are right, and I intend to when I work on it more after the jam. Thank you for the added info.
Thank you ne_mene. I already have a particle engine in my engine. So it was free. Yeah, making the second one (The one you shoot for spawn points.) was harder, and took the most time. I also ran into an issue that stole a few hours near the end, for making the release. Compile errors! *screams*
A great fun time, love the 8 bit looking graphics!
Dang, this game is so fun! Love it. If I only had a mouse with a fully functional mouse wheel.
I love the graphics, and the chickens! That hat, OMG. Kind of just ends though. You could build off that for sure.
OMG this game is so cool! Great fun, I hope you make something out of it.
OMG so much fun, and wow, so much done in three days! Holy cow! How did you build all those assets? Also the mix of 2D/3D nice.
