Not to be confused with max headspace! Nice job!
This game is kind of addictive. Good work!
Really incredible, especially knowing that you did everything from scratch. You really hit nostalgia and fear in equal measures with the crazy visuals and soundscape.
@greynovembergames *hijacks your television signal*
@redoxeide thank you :)
@favoured-fool Yay, I'm glad you like the sound - it was my first time making music on the computer. And the from scratch part: Processing has some drawing and graphics-buffer swapping built it, so it isn't hard getting something drawn on screen at least :) But yea, the rest - including datastructures for efficiently calculating collisions - was made by me. I'm glad you appreciate it <3
@im-not-a-robot Before your game, I had never heard of Processing - but from what I've just glimpsed, it looks very interesting. Do you think its worth getting into it? Or rather: Why did you choose Processing rather than an engine?
@favoured-fool I chose Processing, because I've been using it for many years now and am very used to it. Also I don't really do well in engines with lots of menus, submenus, subsubmenus etc... Although I've looked a little at Godot and it looks more fitting for me. Once Godot4 has support for web-export in C#, I'll check it out.
I think Processing is a really good stepping-stone for game making. From it you can advance to an engine or go more in the direction of pure programming, if you're into that. If you are already at that stage I think it can be very helpful for extremely quick prototyping and testing simple algorithms. It's also good for quickly getting graphics on the screen. I think it's a great environment to learn in.
@im-not-a-robot That sounds awesome, I'll definitely check it out! Engines can be very overwhelming and on the Processing website, they list a lot of user-made libraries. The idea of having your own super customizable set of frameworks and libraries to replace an engine, sounds wonderful - at least when you're making a game that supports this kind of minimalism. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Identity saved on second try!
I loved how you basicly can become super op with the rights augments, it felt i broke the game, which is really fun.( fire rate goes brrr) The art style is unique and great, the audio fits well.
The only downside is i don't think the game suited the theme.
Still, very impressive job overall, especially because you did it alone and from scratch, well done, i really had a blast playing it.
@magic-mike thank you for the feedback! And yea, I had trouble with the theme, but the idea was that your memories are fading because there's only limited space in your head... stretching it a little thin, I know haha
Identity Saved! A great little twin stick. Stacking upgrades to feel like you're breaking the game was super fun.
Having multiple points to defend gave the feeling of darting from one thing to another and worrying that you were missing something. Combined with the nostalgic images in the background, it worked really well to communicate the theme. Great job!
I really loved this! wanted to play it over and over again many times haha! great job on it
Fun game with lots of features (even update preview). Nice work. Good on many categories. Minus side it's A bit too easy until it gets hard and you lose but it's fun to play around for a while and delve into the upgrade system.
Identity Saved!
Fun game, clear objectives, great soundscape. Upgrades were fun, though I didn't manage to get my bullet size up to fill the whole screen.. but almost! xD
Ah I got the music bug! I feel special haha. That was a fun game, unique so far. I like the continuous upgrades!
That music is impressive! Hits the feels right on. Would be awesome with controller support! As it is a kind of dual stick kind of game. Had fun playing it, thank you! I've never heard of Processing. I looked at the web site, visual sketchbook, interesting. I'm more hands a dirty kind of guy, when I started making games, engines were not a thing yet. Everything was just code. :)
memory of cat saved :3
Kitty memory was worth saving! I enjoyed playing this game, mainly due to the amount of polish it has!
Definetely an interesting game. I liked the upgrade progression a lot. Thank you for submitting to my stream. :v:
the vibe is very surreal, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish, especially as I began to become more powerful as the levels progressed.
interesting game and its concept
Cool game, really enjoyed the upgrade system, made me play twice. And it was intuitive enough that I reached (I think) far on the first try. On this note, I think it would be fun if after game over I could see how far I reached. Maybe through a high score, or a level count, etc. And I think the bullets should have a different shape than the player because at later levels I sometimes lost my character in the bullet hell. :smile: Anyway, good entry, congrats! :)
@tudvari Thank you for playing :) There are 10 levels and a display for that was on my mind until the very end, but with 30 minutes left on the clock, I never managed to cram it in. On the bullets you are also right and that one just slipped my mind, all it would've taken was a different color - woups.
Thank you for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it
I definetly saved all of memories! The visuals and music is very pleasant, tell your cat hi
Nice!
Even though I had a hard time geting adjusted with the controls once I got the hang of it, it was a very fun experience and the grathics are interesting but a bit hard to differentiate the background from the player/enemy. Overall I enjoyed it :p
Thanks for submitting this to the steam I enjoyed it quite a bit. Unfortunately the Vod seems to be gone...
Really nice game, the gameplay kinda reminded me of binding of isaac.
I found the Vod! I thought it was lost but turns out it was just not published!

@thecaptainbuster , @rene , @yellowkamel , @its-capp , @egormnc , @nicolasjl9 Thank you for playing! :)
@alfred-clark Really glad you like it and especially that you enjoyed the enemies attacking the blobs/memories/neurons/whatever :D
@hofendrior I only managed to do that myself once - the Power! upgrade helps, but it's kinda *eh* in lategame
@cam-moore glad you liked it - and I still have no clue what causes that bug. I've started the game probably hundreds of times in development and it never happened :shrug:
@lancejz glad you liked the music :) Since it way my fist time doing something like that and it turned out kinda well, I am really proud of it, yay
@badcop , @deltamain , @vikatoria good job saving da kitty
@nicoleta thank you for playing :) The backgrounds were all done on the last day and truthfully a little rushed. Some of the noisier ones do make it pretty hard to see, you are right. Glad you had fun anyway!
@neeko69 thanks! Isaac was definitively a big inspiration.
@ausstein glad you could dig it up :) And thank you again for playing

Thanks again to everyone who played and commented, it was really nice getting a lot of feedback and kind words. I had a lot of fun making this, a lot of fun getting critiqued and doing the same with other peoples games :3
Yo, nice game! Pretty cool that you made a game without an engine and in the 72 hours!
Really fun!
it doesn't quite fit the theme but is but I think the whole idea of preserving memories is awesome, and it intrigued me quite a bit! the bgs make for some neat surreal visuals and the music is good!
I really enjoyed putting on the upgrades and slowly becoming op. There's a pretty good variety to what you can equip and I like that. It also controls nicely! Overall it's a recipe for a pretty addictive game!
I enjoyed what I played! Good job!
Great hit on the Fun ranking and I agree. This game had a great play feel to it. As said before I thought the upgrades each wave was a really nice touch and they were fun and random.
