So awesome! And the graphics are so beautiful. I really like the comic strip and message...deep stuff. This is really impressive!
Really fun little game. The theme is integrated well...after picking up a dozen ish power ups it gets BUCK WILD. Looks and sounds good too. Nice work!
Thanks! I plan to have the bees cultivating cacti on their home planets (if you find a bright green planet that is your home planet) and helping each other pollinate and make honey. With the ultimate goal of exploring to faraway planets collecting rare species of cactus. It took way longer than anticipated to build the multiplayer tech, but this will serve as a baseline for the future! Plus it was a lot of fun learning socket.io and how to use a MBaaS platform with a server-based app.
Thanks! Haha yup it kinda beats instead of flaps...poor lil bee
Fun and endearing! The graphics are amazing. I was confused about why sometimes I could or couldn't clean stuff off the floor. The laptop is hilarious and adds that "OH NO" moment a lot. Nice work!
Great game. Gets much harder around about 12 snakes. The level of polish is pretty incredible, and the song is great, love how it fades out when you pause. Awesome work!
Great work! The mechanics are deceptively simple, those are pretty tricky puzzles. None of the puzzles feel unfair though. And 10/10 mood for sure.
Solid game. I like the glowing colorful square enemies, they look really neat. I had a hard time deciding which crystal to spend my time at, I wish I had some way of maybe telling which one was going to get attacked next or something. The reloading mechanic is fun. How did you make it loop like that? Is it literally a circle or something? Anyhow, great job!
So fun wow. Wish I had even a little more control over the movement of the rope after it attaches, or if the length of it mattered in some way. This game feels so good to play and it sounds and looks amazing. Great work!
It was a bit short and I wish there were more or procedurally generated levels but honestly...that was awesome. Very straightforward, no frills, the right level of difficulty ramp. Nice!
Well done. Love the graphical style. Most games I play for like 10 minutes and then stop, but something about this one made me stick it out until the end. The music is really good. Neat little puzzles - I made the mistake at the beginning of not really listening to the pyramid guy at the beginning so it took me ages to figure out what to do with the key, but I got it eventually. I wish there was some way to find out what the answer to the carnival puzzle was before going there - maybe the arrangement of boxes in the basement or something on the wall in the bar. The time loop mechanic in the game is effective because you don't have nearly enough time to figure everything out in one round, and it is fun to learn something and then do it super fast the next time. Awesome job!
Forgot to mention that the static reflections on every surface make my eyes hurt - if they had a little bit of texture or normal map to them I think that would help a lot. Obviously out of scope for a jam, but if y'all decided to continue!
Nice puzzle game. The mirrors-facing-each-other thing is new, and it really starts to get interesting with the bookcases and 3-mirror puzzles (and there might be more after that, I didn't quite get to the end). I think you could get away with removing several of the early levels, since some of them were kind of the same. A few of the levels were really good and had me really thinking hard. Great work overall!
Also major props for implementing a level editor.
Really great core mechanic, lots of pieces in there to make rad puzzles (pressure plates, timed levers, moving platforms, you name it). I like that dynamic lamp at the beginning. Platforming could be tweaked to feel better I think, and it wouldn't take much. Maybe just moving faster, a bit higher gravity, and a bit slower moving platforms would help it feel "tighter" with similar or identical level design. Great work!
Thanks @typeswitch!
@duke Yikes, which browser and platform are you on right now?
Nikolai made the fix for ad-block. The fix is live now!
Thanks Duke!
Really beautiful and sounds great. I don't get it beyond that lol
Super solid entry. I loooove all the voice acting and the intro cinematic. The lighting looks really good and the game is pretty dang long, especially for a jam entry. You can cheese the combat mechanic by just waggling the sword back and forth, which is definitely fun but also feels like a clunky interface to regular sword swings - if y'all decide to keep working on this one I would love to play a version that forced the circular motion even more. Perhaps with Zelda style attacks or something? Dunno. But anyway, I had a great time with this, nicely done!
This is awesome hahah. Y'all nailed the humor aspect. Goofy writing and goofy talking sounds, and even the movement mechanic is funny. Sometimes I would crash into the planets and sometimes I wouldn't, that confused me a bit. I am not sure what the little atom looking powerups do. The "space time anomalies" were a nice touch. On the first level I was thinking hmm...it would be nice if the screen went faster when I got towards the end. But then the second level was like FASTER EH? That was a nice difficulty ramp there. Awesome job!
This game is brutally hard but I found myself coming back for more. The concept is really awesome. I love how my character always feels very strong but incredibly fragile at the same time. It definitely seems stacked in favor of the walking characters right now. With more content I could see myself spending a lot of time with this game. Great job!
Dang...this game is really fun. Excellent use of the idea of loops, and it really helps that the screen renders a couple times to the sides. I was a bit confused by the level layouts, I saw one of the layouts several times and only saw 2 layouts before I got to screen 9 and finally saw another. If there were a bunch more layouts in there I would replay the heck out of this. Also the time I accidentally slapped a bullet diagonally in the room with the mirror blocks, suddenly it had a REALLY neat movement pattern that really required looking carefully at where the diagonal bullet was going to come in next. It might be fun if you added something that "forces" a bullet to bounce diagonally for some reason.
Anyway, really great job. This game def deserves some plays!
Enjoyed playing. The controls are a bit touchy but are an interesting change from classic flappy controls. I really like all the colors. Great job!
Fellow boomerang game! Really beautiful graphics, love the realtime lighting. Plays a lot like minigolf. Really difficult though because of the boomerang moving around in a circle and bumping into walls when I thought I was safe. Awesome work!
Also I was playing with a mouse - possible that touch would have been much easier
Interesting idea, not being able to turn back. I like the looping aspect of the first level, would be cool if the second level did that too. The platforming and switches are rather finicky, making those work slightly better would have big benefits. Nice work overall!
Really great concept. I like that you can't always see the hazards you are jumping into because that is a good reason to die and try again knowing that little bit more. The pressure plate mechanic is awesome but I had to read the webpage to realize what was happening - if the pressure plate reacted visually to your character being there, and maybe if there was a platform that appeared at the first plate that you could see, it would become clear immediately. The platforming itself feels wonky in a "platforming using a physics system" way - there are a lot of platform jumps that I barely made every time that felt like they could be a bit easier. Overall this is a super cool entry. Good concept and you nailed the aesthetic. Awesome work!
I like the idea and the map that you made. I could walk around, is there other stuff to do that I missed? How did you like developing with phaser in TS? I have used just js and it gets pretty messy :scream:
Gotcha gotcha, I'll try that out. It was a cool idea for sure!
HILARITY ENSUED. Love the sfx in particular.
Cool idea. Hard to play with the turns so short, maybe a short frozen time to switch players every turn would fix that.
Tricky but really engaging!
Good work! Fun to sit down and bloop around with, relaxing and fun. The sound the customers make when they talk is really funny.
I love this! Two of the best genres  The pacing is awkward and I was a bit confused as to why I would sometimes get a bunch of turrets. In any case I would love to play this on my phone.
Really cool game, very impressive. Good graphics, great tunes, responsive controls. The lava plus the two-player control is really tricky. I like the effect of the lava moving different speeds based on the music, but it is difficult to keep track of where the lava is because of this (or maybe it is just difficult in general lol).
Nailed it with this one, it is hilarious and a very effective genre mashup. The steering is frustrating, but in a way that adds to the funniness of the whole thing. Nice work!
This is really cool, could def expand this into something serious!
Nice work! I like the paintings for the monsters, definitely builds the mood a bit.
Wild
Hey cool! Reminds me of an old flash game called EasyRPG, one of my faves.
Phenomenal combination of two genres. I would absolutely play this for hours, especially on my phone. Suggestion: often I move when I mean to aim, or vice-versa, so maybe there is a way to improve that UI. Great work!
I LOVE THIS
Went back and beat it finally. Simple yet compelling gameplay loop with a goal that was not easy, but felt reachable.
Whoa cool concept. Wicked hard to click the burger ingredients on time, but I like the balance of the mechanics here. The burger building feels like a rhythm game!
Can't get it to run on my windows 10 :slight_frown:
Cool, fun screen shake, cool concept, good sound effects. Really nice UI. I am unable to progress past the first level, is that a bug? When I beat the first level and click "Main Menu", the level complete screen stays up and covers the main menu so I can't buy anything.
Nice work!
Sounds good! Lmk if you fix it and I'll play again!
Hm I still have the same issue on the Windows build of 1.03, heres what it looks like when I return to the main menu. When I beat the first level, what is the correct way to progress to the next level? Maybe I am doing it wrong lol vampire main menu screenshot.png
Haha sounds good. I still have a headache from this weekend xD
Fixing some weird errors, but it'll be online soon!
Thanks! :)
Thanks for playing! Yeah I regret not throwing some tunes in there, ah well
Mm good point
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the heads up! Unfortunately even when it works on mobile its p slow :(
Sorry about that :O it seems that it takes a few attempts to load the game if it hasnt been loaded before (it makes mysterious errors on the console for me) and sometimes it just doesn't work. Verified that the server is still up though
Thanks for playing!
Would be rad to have a more slippery vehicle or something like that
You have done a remarkably good job at capturing the feeling of NOT wanting to socialize. Especially with how slowly you walk, and how the partygoers pursue you. Slowly, but persistently. I also like how running into them doesn't make you restart or something, but instead forces you into an interaction that is easy to goof up. Like in real life, I goofed my first one pretty bad and proceeded to talk to nobody.
Really cool! Fun to bloop around with. The balance of prices and such seems a tad off and I was unable to get water from the pinball chute with the water label. Still, super rad work!
For some reason this is very funny to watch once you get up to speed. Cool concept, would be interesting to see it fleshed out more.
You crushed it. I am very impressed by the way it transitions from the 3d overhead part (which I like, feels like an rts clicker game) straight to the 2d part. The style works in both and that is wicked cool.
Whaaaat this game is so fun! The combination works great. My left hand was shootin and my right hand was buyin. Those purple ones are hecka OP. I like the addition of the global score table to see how I did.
