Stones have not usage for now.. But one level one the key is hidden under one of them.
@impbox, your java is old. I got the same error with my old Mac, after updating java, everything works well.
@mrhill, thanks! I just fixed that bug, now you should be able to complete level 3.
@batmagus, your java must be at least J2SE 8
Hey, guys! I just fixed keyboard lags (I think so, on my computer it works well). Can some one test that, please? Thanks!
I made prices bigger, also working under timer now.
Thank you a lot!
I just added lighter to the game. Now you can burn bushes. Also you can now use [e] key to exit examine mode.
Now I'm working on some secret room, hidden after bushes.
Awesome!
Awesome game! Concept is very interesting!
Awesome game! I like it a lot. But there is some problems with fonts.
@mike, get ready for the attack! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/mf100-hack-the-jam
Wow, man! That's in love2d! Awesome!
Wow, dude, awesome art!
@cppchriscpp, please, make sure that your keyboard layout is english. I had the same problem, trying to type russian letters.
Will see, what is bad with the music. Did it write something to the console? Here is the song: https://soundcloud.com/egordorichev/music-for-ludum-dare-38
@cppchiscpp, thanks! Font is build-in bitmap image, so there shouldn't be any errors :) Any way, that is Windows :) Thanks for feedback!
@hierophant, @sararycow, @cvetk0, thanks for your reviews!
Awesome game! I did something similar last LD: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-37/?action=preview&uid=125115
Wow, dude, great game!
Wow, dude, good game :) In your age, I was trying to do some coding, but ended up with something in 15. Great job!
Great game, glad to see pico8 as engine :D
Wow, great game! Really love the graphics and the idea, of switching one person on multiple tasks! One of the most polished games, I saw this Ludum Dare. Hope, I will see you on next LD! **_Sharing one vote, can't do more :D_ **
@Sheepolution, great game! I really love the art, and I know, how much time did you spend on it :D Thanks for adding ON/OFF button!
Nice game :D Really love graphics component!
Interesting color pallete ;D
Great game, really love your theme interpretation!
Can't believe, that this was made in 48 hours!
Thank you all for those kind of words! They are really important for me :D @triastase, ldjam.com seems to be bugging, hah :)
@shashwat, that's probably, my bad art. They are shield and battery :D
Added small note about "bullets".
@n4tticus, i'm sorry. Pico8 doesn't let you to rebind controls. Anyway, thanks for feedback!
Thank you all for your amazing feed back! Made stars amount x3 smaller, how does it feel now?
@ryzy27, you can't access shop, while fighting a boss. That's totally ok.
By many requests, i've added music!
@ryzy27, where you able to open it before? Remember, it's Z/C buttons. Try them both. No one else having this issue. This maybe a problem with your keyboard.
@markwolf, there is a boss on 150 p!
@damoy, there is music and sfx. Try to raise your volume up a bit.
Thank you, @badly-drawn-rod! Did not know about that trick!
@fl, wow that is a big score! :D @sublustris, спасибо :) Вроде, по правилам можно оценивать в обоих категориях...
Great game overall, really love your theme interpretation. The only thing, I got really bored, while fighting the first boss :D
Wow, @Nuffle! I'm amazed, that you've finished a game! Contracts! Really good idea, btw.
Really enjoyed graphic style, great job!
Awesome game! Only thing I want to see in the future versions is lighting :D
Great project. Try to add particles, and it will look amazing!
Great game! Amazed, how you did that in 20 hours!
Great game :D I like asteroids textures!
Great game, Rami! By the way, web link fails to load index.html. Anyway, really great for your first LD! Probably, gravity could be more noticeable :D
Really like graphics style! Nice game :D
Great game, love simple controls :D
Nice puzzels and art! Great job :D
Great game, really reminds me FTL and Oxygen Not included :D
Love the graphics component! Great job!
Nice game! Really love the graphics component.
Nice puzzles :D
Amazing game, I really love the theme interpretation!
Hehe, thanks for the feedback!
@fiakaiera, not the strawberries affect your vision, but the evil. But anyway, thanks ;) @sean-s-leblanc, thanks, will fix the code here, the valid cart is also on the PICO-8 BBS.
Will change the default palette later today ;)
Yeah, good point, the noise is a bit too loud. I will play around with its volume ;) With minimalism... Dude, 128x128 display, 8x8px sprites, 128 sprites, 8k tokens, 32k chars :X What could be more minimal?
Haha, thanks :D
Thanks a lot ;) Working on a gameplay video for those, who get stuck :D
@xacur, hehe, thanks ;) You can change the palette by pressing enter and selecting "next palette" option ;)
@deshipu you can't jump from ropes. But you can just "move horizontally" on them.
@deshipu or wines:

Hehe, you welcome ;) That's more my fail :D But I did my best with 3 colors ;)
Thanks, @SeanW ! Will colors.. Yeah, this was a total fail :D But I just wanted to make it look spooky a bit. Everyone is talking about another default palette, but no one says, what palette he wants to see as default one :D What palette is your favorite one?
@zee thanks for the feedback! I glad, you saw the lil touches :D Maybe I added a bit tooo much corruption effect :X
@quaternius haha, thanks! @oivin-f yeah, I need to think about a solution with this rope problem :D Many peps have it :X
@oldpeculier there are ropes on the first level (look up the video :wink:)
Oh wow, @kroltan, did you beat the game? GG! Never saw this bug, so thanks for spotting it! To be true, I think, it's more a PICO-8 web player lag, because inside-of PICO-8 it doesn't appear to be a thing. But anyway, thanks for the feedback!
Thanks ;) I hope to make the game much easier and readable :) I will of course, use the full 16-colors palt :D
@reizoukin thanks ;) I have a few big PICO-8 games in my plans, and after that... It may be a good idea to continue this game!
@randomhuman thanks a lot :)
** I'm planning to release X-mass edition really soon, which will include fourth color, more simple levels, and a proper tutorial. Thanks everyone for the feedback! **
@gelisam thanks a lot, will use those tips in the new update!
@samh _there is a secret tab key to see that stuff_
@mrjoshuamclean I wanted to make an FTL2 inspired game, where you have to manage space trash. But then I screw up that idea, and went with a new one. And thanks for playing ;) (tho the link is wrong? :P)
@muzzz29 well technically, you can buy it on itch.io, but I guess you meant making more stuff for it? Also, I'm super sorry for the bug that happened to ya, fixing it rn.
Thanks, @nusan! What C button does, is it stops you from moving but moving AT ALL. Like you land. And then you can't move till you release it. Super sorry for that hardlock, I will for sure add a restart level button!
@dunin never heard that piece of music before, but you are right, for sure the composer used some of the methods I also used. And there is a lot of stuff for me to learn from it too, thanks for linking it!
@tornoz thanks so much, I just pushed a fix for that problem, the game autosaves if you want to go back and finish it. You got really close to the end, tho ;) The extra key is now in the part where you have to jump up with falling platforms to get a key. Also I moved the door from the exit so that you dont go off the screen while it opens.
And I'm glad, that you like it :)
@noa-calice woah, thanks a lot :)
@skullpixel I guess your one is the best? ;D Also, the theme is that you sacrifice nice control scheme ;)
Hahaha, yeah, @snowdrama, I'm glad you were able to beat it :) Also, does karma even do anything?
@bradur palette change is just a thing that allows everyone to make game elements more visible to them, including color blind people, but its also a thing that gives a tiny bit of customisation :)
@simon-rahnasto haha, thanks so much :blush:
@blubberquark well it's not a trick, tbh, you have to wait till you land, and then you won't jump anymore. But it kind of worked like a trick, haha.
Lovely entry, menu is great, and info about each human is a nice touch :)
Hey, the game is marked playable on linux, but the itch.io page has only a zip with .exe in it, I woulld love to play, tho!
@bobotast that's really weird... did the itch not work? Could you try it again? I just checked and it worked for me..
@shieldgenerator7 sorry for no wasd option, but that's how it goes, pico8 doesn't allow them... I liked playing with gamepad a lot, tho. That's for the feedback, and sorry for making you rage xD
Haha, @maliyshock that was supposed to be an astronaut xD
I like it overall, I wish there were more objects and they could break, tho :)
I always love games that are breaking the default "download and play" frame. The game seems simple, but I saw players that managed to find tricks like typing a not real command, replacing ; with other stuff. I would love to see more elements in the game, maybe water and fire, because it will add a lot more depth to the game ;)
10/10 graphics, they are amazing! And I really love the funny char animations :grin:
@niksg is that bad? ;D
Haha, @Memel06, thanks, I will think about making a post jam version ;) PICO-8 doesnt support android so far, but we can try some html5 wrapping. Thanks for playing ;)
@Noxbuds I bet you will get it ;) Both mazes are the same, just one is not visible. If you are heaving troubles with hp, try easy mode ;)
<3
@Evan Minto well, you have hp in the top left corner. 1-hit lava death was too hard, so you have some hp amount on each level. When you touch lava, your hp decreases.
<3
@herman-chau I wrote a math function for that:
```lua pll={4,2,2,2,8,8,9,10,15,7,15,10,9,8,8,2,2,2,4}
function get(x,y,s) local t=g_time/400 local c=cos(x/80)-sin(y/100) +cos(x/40-t)*sin(y/40-t) +cos(x/80)*sin(y/80-t) +cos(x/200+t/2)*sin(y/80+t) return pll[flr(c*(s or 3))%#pll] or pll[1] end
function menu.draw() for i=1,300 do local x,y=rnd(128),rnd(128) local c=get(x,y) circ(x,y,1,c) end end
```
Pico-8 uses indexes for colors, so for example 7 is white, 4 is brown.
Thanks, @Jupiter_Hadley, means so much for me! <3
Awesome work, Ben! <3
Linux version, please? Or html5 <3
Damn, this is awesome! I really love the retro look of it, and breaking blocks is such a smart idea! 10/10 theme fit! Great job!
Great to see it finished!
Glad that you did not leave the jam after the first attempt ;) Great game!
