Graphics are amazing, catchy song, and a great balance of difficulty. I just had some window size issues (the window was taller than my screen)

Good game, feels done/finished, unlike most other games here. Great job.
Nice short game.
It would be nice if the first level went directly to the countdown when you restart, and some of the invisible walls are a bit too close to the ground.
Nice game! Really love the graphics component.
The graphics and the audio fit in really nice. The jetpack is a bit strong though, zooms right up on the slightest press. But maybe that's how you intended it to be. Plus, the first level shows the introductory message everytime you die. Other than that, its well designed.
Quite neat platformer game you got there :) The battery could really give a bit more power because most of the time I needed as much energy to get the battery as it would give me :D
Cheers
Unfortunately I cannot run this 64 bit exe on my 32 bit machine, could you add another build?
Sorry about that @gonutz , totally forgot about it. I just added it
Solid game. 4th level was very difficult!
the game is really good it has the only downside of having not that much of content but is a game jam so the game i near perfect for me
Music, animation and peace fits perfectly together!
Really amazing the game!
I liked the graphics and the music. Both were simple, but fit together well. The take on the theme wasn't anything super special, but not every game has to reinvent the wheel. The controls were alright and the game was pretty fun. Some of the collision detection feels a little wonky and I will say that the fact that the horizontal moving platforms don't move you along with them threw me off a lot. Overall though, a good effort!
A fun and challenging little platformer that was well presented and sounded great. The power mechanic was okay but felt a bit bland to be perfectly honest. It certainly wasn't a bad use of the theme but it wasn't the most creative either. The controls felt great and the ui was smooth and easy to use.
Overall a great game that could have just been pushed a little bit further. You did a great job and should be proud.
Love the graphics and music, also it feels really polished
Congrats on the entry!
Hey, I am back and was able to play the 32 bit Windows build, thank you very much for that! :-)
This game is really cool, I love platformers and this looks and sound awesome, very good job on the graphics and sound.
The gameplay is cool because of the jet pack, jet packs are cool, especially ENDLESS jet packs! ;-)
The only thing that I noticed fell out is the connection to the theme. This is a simple race agains time and you can pick up a little time here and there, this has been in games forever, so a more creative use of the theme could have been incorporated into the game. But on the other hand it would have been a different game and like I said I really enjoyed this one, so I nevermind the theme that much, just wanted to point it out.
All in all, very cool game, cool music and a consistent art style, everything fitting together beautifully. Congratulations on this great entry and good luck for the future, keep up the good work!
This is a really interesting game. I like how you have to optimize your movement in order to conserve energy. I enjoy how you occasionally have to choose between conserving energy by using your spit to take the shorter route and conserving your spit but having to take the longer route, wasting energy. Also the colorful visuals and energetic music work well together. This is a well made entry that I had a fun time playing. Nice work!
The Mac build is not working for me. What might help is disabling “Mac App Store Validation” in Player Settings (“Edit->Project Settings->Player->Other Settings”). The architecture should be on x86. Let me know if you found the time to rebuild the Mac version, I would love to play this!
Hi @drtizzle , I just uploaded a build for mac following the steps you gave me. Unfortunately I do not have any ways to test a mac app. Please let me know if you are able to play it.
Very cool game! Nothing to say , all is awesome!
loved the graphics and the music, very fitting. The batteries weren't really helpful as it took you more time to collect them that the energy they gave, but other than that the gameplay was pretty good :)
I had very much fun with this game :) Looks good, sounds good and plays good ...
I like a lot that you cannot carelessly use the jetpack. You have to actually think how and when to use it. Maybe needs some polishing on gameplay (I would make the character move along with the platforms for example) but feels very good overall. Congrats!
Thank you everyone for the great feedback.
I played on stream, _(VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/164456874)_ so you were able to watch a lot of thoughts live as I played. However I _**promised**_ I would come back to rate and give feedback. Any questions/comments use [@timbeaudet on twitter](https://www.twitter.com/timbeaudet). And **finally** a link to _my_ game if you wanted to check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/edrive
Initial impression was quite nice, I liked the menu music. The game music volume was quite a bit louder though, it also was pleasant to the ears but the difference in volume was a bit jarring. Continuing along it was pretty quick and easy to figure out how to play, move and jet pack. Sitting idle used energy, at a lesser rate than flying, but that was nice to keep things moving. When I died the first time I was looking for a button to restart/replay from keyboard. Mostly because keyboard was primary (only) gameplay controls. The keyboard to mouse action here is a bit jarring and undesired, perhaps space/enter restarts and escape goes to menu? The restart icon was hard for me to understand, looked more like a Q. I do see where it is supposed to be a circle with and arrow on one end, but it might be too pixelated to read that.
Speaking of the art, the color selection is good, relaxed colors and not over saturated/primary colors. But the resolution of the different objects was a bit odd. A lot of the font, ui and restart icon have like 8x8 pixels or even larger, while many in game things had at most 2x2 pixels perhaps smaller. Keeping this consistent may be more visually appealing. The animations were effective, and particles? for the jetpack.
I kept saying one more try so I'd say I was motivated to finish the game. On the final level the wall drop seemed to -always- be in the way, which was slightly annoying. It would have been different if it were random, or had a reason, perhaps releasing a boulder to roll towards me- or maybe it opens for a secret passage instead of just slowing down the player.
The maps also seemed a little difficult to learn / see the first few times around. Though this probably works in favor of having some gameplay. The final level for instance was actually hard only if the player went to grab things (spits and power) that they didn't need to complete the level. It would be nice if the battery packs _really_ had an effect on the power levels and the extra spit would be necessary, perhaps it could even cover spikes to make them easier to deal with, or if you had spit and got hit perhaps that acted as HP vs 1 hit kill.
Anyways, good entry!
Thank you very munch on your feedback @timbeaudet , all of your advice was really helpful , and hopefully it will make me improve with my game development on the future.
Thanks a lot.
PD: Loved to chill with your stream!
Hey @alejandrodlsp - [you put your game on my list to play](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/end-of-time/whos-not-had-any-love-link-your-game-for-me-to-play), and [I streamed the play-through on Friday](https://youtu.be/-DEvWdMWCKk?t=11292), Was pretty good, I liked the audio, I really think it suits the game and adds to the suspense. The mechanics were pretty good, overall I enjoyed it :)
Sorry to say, but the Mac build still doesn't work (for me) :( The last solution I know is building it from a mac, but I don't know if you're able to/have the time for that. Succes with the competition!
@drtizzle Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately I'm not able to get a mac. I'll have to remove the mac build from the description :(
Pretty good!! I love the art and the game feel. The music also adds to the atmosphere. One complaint would be that in the first 3 levels you can win by just flying towards the end of the level, while 4 requires more skills. I would change 1-3 to make it increasingly difficult and get a nice learning ramp. Apart from that I wanted more levels when I finished it, so Kudos!
