LD38 — A Small World

Defend the world by Micito 2017-05-06T13:05:20Z

@mashas Thank you for the kind words.

The idea was to have multiple levels, some with moons orbiting a planet, and you could (through various research) eventually end up building buildings there.

I also wanted to add multiple different resources, and maybe some you needed to extract from the moons. Multitude of different enemies (other than asteroids)

But, I was busy during the weekend of the LD and didn't manage to create much content, but the basics of everything are there (except the research), and I lost far too much time on getting gun angles to work xD

LD39 — Running out of Power

Silly me, thought unity made one build for windows, mac and linux.

I have downloaded the modules, built the original game, uploaded and fixed the links. The linux and mac versions should now work.

Have never dabbled with linux and mac, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback, especially @amras0000 (I really liked your detailed criticism)

I must admit, I kind of forgot about the generator image, and I had to rush them in the end. I would liked to have made them maybe more like a power plants, than generators but this works as well.

The X's could have been just drawn (I rendered them in blender as I did with all graphics, just though about adding more "pop" to it. But you are right, since everything was minimalist, they should have been as well.

I didn't get much time to playtest the game, and I would like to have made some different system for task generation. As it is now, there is a timer that ticks (different time for every map) and every tick it just finds a random building and tells it to generate any of the possible tasks for that building type. It was made just for testing, and because the lack of time, it ended up in the game. Maybe a better system would be the one that is aware of all the current tasks and creates tasks based on them (for example sometimes after catching criminals (police station task) the hospital would get a surgery task, or something similar). Also more tasks would be interesting.

Also I don't think the generator types were all that interesting, I would like to have made them more "unique" as the risky generator.

For some reason, my description keeps changing, and removes the screenshot, I don't know what is going on with that. If anyone knows please post answer in the comments.

Anyway, thanks for kind words everyone :)

Apparenty, Chrome doesn't like you spamming the button when it is not doing anything xD

Bribe or Die by LeonLaci 2017-08-04T12:25:52Z

I like the idea, the game is simple and easy to play.

I think if would be nice if you could somehow tell what bribing, or not bribing will give you, not clearly, but for example some animation or buffs/debuffs for characters that come (water drop (representing uncomfortability) indicating that the character is nervious, or afraid and you have greater chance to bribe him and gain power)

Very nice game.

Nice amount of complexity for a LudumDare entry. I especially liked the tutorial, since most of the games here don't have one, and are not very well explained.

The Will to Live (a game about willpower) by twainwright 2017-08-05T11:51:22Z

Great game, I really enjoyed it. It creates a tense atmosphere.

Only thing i would change, is at the start of each day, instead of needing to click through changes in every stat separately, i would like to see it combined, it's just a quality of life thing. Just put the numbers near the stats and text about what happened for that stat bellow it, or to the side like

Food : 20/25 +5 (maybe in green so it's more clear) You found some berries last day and there are still some left

or something like that, so the player doesn't need to click through all the dialogs

All in all, a fun game. Good job

LD46 — Keep it alive

Meeple Machine Factory by Micito 2020-04-20T14:50:41Z

@mantaraytv-games Hey, sorry you didn't like it. The idea was for the game to be frantic with a multiple meeples running around, and everything jiggling, warnings on all sides, things crashing and burning xD

Alas, if I had more time, I could implement it all. I just put together a simple level and used it as the only level. It's a bit difficult to configure all components to work together and have fun experience, it requires a lot of testing time.

But hey, thanks for the review and scores. It is very much appreciated :)
