Wow nice game dude! I can totally see what you are trying to go for! I really enjoyed the gathering and construction aspect of the game! While the controls were a little weird at first I got use to them pretty quickly! Overall Really good work! :ok_hand:

Nice game, I like it. Keep learning making games and you'll can do magic.
Nice game  I like your 3D Models and it has a nice atmosphere.
I have some minor points, from which (I think) the game would benefit in a later iteration: - I was a bit confused by the controls, maybe adding the standard movement a and d keys would make it a bit easier to play. - I accidentally kept building stuff by left clicking (mostly my fault), but maybe color highlighting when something is selected would prevent that - I would add tool tips like how expensive is it to build a fence (maybe just write a number left to the button)
Definitely keep it up!
Good work, man! I like it! Keep making games!!!
Thanks a lot guys!!

The idea and graphics is good, but there is not happening much.
The thing is, my game engine shut down unexpectedly and I could just manage to make the basics of the game. So, i had to make some adjustments and that is the reason I put the resources required up there and not within the game. Same for the buttons. :slight_frown::slight_frown:
The game is realy quite unique, and I loved its graphical style. It's kinda minimalistic yet sophisticated, and I am quite glad that there were dynamic shadows with the trees and similar. The gameplay itself, whilst controlling really smoothly, I feel could really be fleshed out and developed further, maybe including enemies, various materials to collect etc. I didn't actually really notice my health bar going up to far, so I don't know if that was a glitch or merely I was playing it wrong. So in total a really good start and I really would like to see this develop even further, it could turn into something amazing.
(Also good to see another young developer, I'm 16 myself)
@porcus-pie Thanks :slight_smile:
in your age and making something like that , that amazing i hope u keep work on your self.
the game was very good for playing it , u just need to add more stuff to build and upgrade maybe this maybe make the player stay to play the game more.

Great job! Very solid survival game and an impressive amount of work! :D
Thanks a lot once again!!
You did a nice job here. I wish there was some tree-cutting animations, like falling tree or something instead of disappearing, but ok. And I was a little bit confused about how to move.
All in all, well done! Nice effort.
Note: It lagged a bit on my PC (not a high-end PC).
@kaisean-games Haha! I know about the tree.:upside_down: I was trying to do that only, but there always had to be an error, so at the end I was so frustrated that I just left it like that.
BTW, thanks for rating!
Graphical style is good, I love low-poly and think it's great that they became popular. Control was a little bit confusing at the very begging, I spend some time to figure out how to move. I missed some story - you could write two-three sentances about why the hell player stucked in the forest with no food. Also several times I builded stuff just for accident, I didn't notice that I choose something to build. Only at third time of playing I realised how to survive. Maybe it's good, maybe not - but at first the game was very frustrating. All in all this game is good, you just made a mistake of all the beginners - the game isn't very friendly to player and it's hard to understand some moments.
@redblack-spade Thanks. Appreciate your feedback.

I think there's something fun here, sure it's a little rough, but I like the building things and gathering stuff. I felt maybe I needed more direction as a player, but thats how I normally get with crafting games. Looking forward to the next game you make.
I'd suggest maybe making it entirely mouse controlled?
@ocarson Thanks for your feedback. Of course, this is only a small game made in 2 days, so it is not that good. But I will make a better version of the game and what's more, I am thinking of making a tutorial on it. BTW, thanks for the tip!
Wow, dude, good game :) In your age, I was trying to do some coding, but ended up with something in 15. Great job!
@egordorichev :smile::smile: Thanks for appreciating!
Thanks for voting, guys!!!
Congratulations for your game! keep up learning everyday :)
Cool idea and certainly something you can expand from! Good effort for 2 days :)
@mango-malarkey Thanks . I checked out your game earlier. Had to give it 5 stars! It is amazing!

As promised, I've played your game. It's a nice accomplishment, but I think it's too ambitious for LD and there's not much in it. next time, try focusing on one thing and polish it to absolute perfection. that way it works for LD and it will be a better game overall. But even this is a really good accomplishment for a 13 year old  when I was 13, I didn't even know what programming is
P.S. try and revamp the control system. google or copy control systems from other games
Wow with 13 you created this one? Not bad...
There's not a whole lot in the game, I for example didn't know how to find food. And also a display of the current time would have been nice. The controls also should be improved.... The turn and walk system was a little bit hard to get used to....
But keep on the work and your next game will be much better :)
Thanks for your feedback, everyone.
The graphics are good, but I didn't see much of a challenge in the game.
As others have said, its a good idea and a good starting base for a bigger game. But for LDJam is just too ambitious. But that's good, this kind of experiences will make you know what you can and can't do in the future for a given time and it will make you hone your skills better.
I appreciated my time with and build a small house :D

This is a nice start for a prototype. I had some issues with the controls but then I understood it was mouse based. It lacks some survivals basic things but you can add them later and please do something original not by just eat/shit/build ;)
The game itself lacks some ambiance like sounds but I really liked you models that are effective. If you are thirteen years old the only thing I can say is : Practice !!!! You have so much to learn and to do that you can be a good programer or 3d designer I don't know what you wanna do but PRACTICE buddy !
If you wanna get better, learn C, C++, try to create your own physics and graphic engine, learn OpenGL you will rocks !
And the last thing : GO TO SCHOOL :p maths are really important, as physics if you wanna be a game designer / programmer, many will say you can pass them but getting the basics will help you to improve !
I hope to see you in other jams !
Edit : The last advice I can give you since your are quite young : to not try too hard. This doesn't mean you have to give up on something not at all, but do not try to make the AAA game you ever dreamt of. Try simple project, this will give you the experience. Try small project that you can acheive. This will be more rewarding that trying to get somethign too big with just small pieces. OR try to makes concepts, like special physics environments or fractals, things that seems useless but will give you skills

No way you are 13 haha this is great. Wish I was this good back then, great job mate :))
A big thank you for rating my game!
So first off, great job for getting something done. Putting together something like this at your age is pretty impressive.
That said, if I were judging this like it were any other game, it needs a lot of work. Please take this criticism as constructive and ideas to think about for your next game, not as me being mean.
- The controls are really quite wonkey, like trying to move towards the camera and to the right was really hit or miss if I could get the character to turn that way.
- The lack of any sound really hurts the ambiance, even mediocre sound is better than none.
- Once placed, a crate seems to be stuck, and trying to drag is spawns another.
- Building stuff seems to take far too much wood, and there is no indication of how much it will take.
- Anything can be harvested from any distance. It doesn't really make sense.
It feels like you tried to make too big of a game. I would suggest starting with something much smaller and focus on polish. A small but very well done game will get a lot better scores than a big but "slapped together" feeling game.
The models were good, and fit the theme of the game. Over all, this isn't a bad game, but like I said at the beginning, it needs work. Well done for getting something done though, what you have here is far more than a lot of people will ever do.

Pretty good! Wasn't getting a very good framerate because the lack of graphical options, but it seems like a solid start!
Oh, and if you could to play mine that would be greatly appreciated!

Very good game, especially for first entry! Graphics and animations are nice for the amount of time etc. The idea of a survival game - not very original but good. Many people pointed it out - your first priority right now should be trying to perfect the controls and the game would be very impressive!
If you are interested in any advice from me, feel free to ask. One tip I just need to share is - instead of adding a lot of different elements to your game (I saw you tried UI, animations and graphics, different types of controls etc) focus on one or two elements on polish them up as much as you can.
Keep on coding man, your doing great.
And here's my game if you would like to see and rate it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/a-small-world-how-original
Thanks for your feedback and advice, everybody! I am very grateful to you guys!
Very, very good job. Great art and atmosphere!
@lilkrit @joshua-stone @slueta @kirv19 I checked your games out. You guys have done amazing jobs. Good luck!
Are you really 13? Its amazing!!! I wish i knew how to do that when i was your age ;) Good job
The game has nice atmosphere and looks really good. Here are few notes that I've noticed, which could improve the game:
- The controls ok mouse + keyboard doesn't feel good to me, the W and S + mouse look to take direction just doesn't seem correct - Fireplace light effect seems weird to me especially during the day, literally almost any light will have close to 0 visual impact during the day outside (and mostly also inside), just because of the sun - it over-shines almost any light source outside - You can cut down tree at any distance (or at least at very large distance), that seemed unnatural to me
Anyways, congratulations on making the game. I really liked it and keep up the good work!

Good entry, I liked the animations, I thought they were very well done given the time constraints. I think I might have had some bugs with the movement system as the fella didn't seem to want to head in the direction of my mouse, but the buildings placed fine and everything was functional. All in all great job!
Thanks a lot for your advice and feedback, everybody!:thumbsup:
good game really.......loved the enthusiasm of a 13 year old developer......loved.....kep it up....nice entry
@shubham-pandit Thanks for your appreciation.
I didn't expect anything, but ... Well done. Fun - a good entry. I am not a big fan of this games genre, but one thing must be recognized - you did a good work. I assume that it could be improved with more time (I noticed some bugs), but what you did (in less than 72 hours) is just awesome. Thumbs up. Highly rated ++
@geckoo1337 Thanks. I checked out your game earlier, and it is awesome.
Good effort, keep at it and you'll be a pro in no time. I'd say the project was too ambitious for a game jam and something much smaller and more polished would have been better appreciated.
@spinaljack Thanks for the appreciation. I know that the game was a bit too ambitious because I wanted to make a bigger game than I could possibly make in the given time period. Hopefully my next game will be better.
Thanks everybody!
Firstly - congratulations on your first Ludum Dare - this was my first one too!
Now, down to the ever-present critique:
* The controls - I found them very strange. I kept wanting to move using the usual WASD controls and forgetting that I was only able to walk towards and away from the mouse. * I couldn't understand why I was only able to build one wooden wall. After much clicking and pressing, I came back here to find that I needed more wood - so that makes sense now. Of course, with more time, I am sure you would have been able to include some sort of indication that more wood was needed. * Pretty much anything else I could say comes down to a lack of time - the most obvious being audio. I'm a strong believer that music and sound is every bit as important as graphics in any game, just like in movies. Just like the choice of art style creates a mood, so too does music.
Anyway...enough of me waffling on. Congratulations on a very accomplished entry!
@richard-michael-smith Thanks for your feedback and advice.
COngartulations on your first LD game! I liked it! Also nice to see a 3D game! I would maybe improve on graphics but hey it's a Game Jam! And thanks for my feedback!
Hey this is great work. With a bit more time this could be a really nice game :) Have you played mine through yet? It'd be great if you got a chance! Thanks :) good luck
Thanks for the feedback. And @stayfrosty, I checked your game. It's very good, the music is nice and the graphics are great! Good job!
Wow, a thirteen year old game developer, thats awesome! I've started my jorney with about this age, but I've losted a lot of time (years and years) trying to develop big and ambicious games, this really don't work. You're on the right way: keeping everything simple and interesting. Also, be a LD jammer is an AWESOME way to learn even more about game dev.
I've liked your art a lot. Good job, keep doing!
@unidaystudio Thank you for your feedback. Feels good to be appreciated.
