Anyway, it's nice to see another 3D love game.
This needs to be longer. Love the parallax.
No Linux version :( Running the windows version on wine was slow and buggy. The WebGL build worked flawlessly. I always like unconventional use of time or the 4th dimension in games, but this seemed too generic. Many games have had moving platforms and teleporting before. I'd like you to expand this game and add something that feels unique, but still bound to 4D. Maybe some hyperbolic geometry? Wink, wink. (Shameless self advertisement)
At first I was like: that is the cutest spider I've ever seen.
But then I was like: nope. nopenpoenopenopenopenope. Nope.
I can't say this game is original, new or amazingly exciting. It's just another reimagining of the clicker genre, but with a story. For some reason everyone likes clickers. They're addicting, fun and make you play for days without end. I won't say anything against the genre, cause that's just a matter of taste, but a good clicker should be 2 things. Addicting and rewarding. While this game got a good start on the first, it didn't feel quite as rewarding. It would be even more addicting if it had a slower pace and therefore a slower story (which I liked btw) and it would feel more rewarding if the upgrades had more depth and were actually rewarding the player for the hard earned clicks. Nevertheless, for a clicker, this game has something. Maybe it's the story and a feel of progression?
No aliens. I.e. noone to be found. Noone to be found in the universe. Noone to be found in the sky... No Man in the Sky... This game does No Man's Sky better than No Man's Sky.
I don't know what to say. Graphics: 11 out of 10. Gameplay: ok out 2 but needs depth. Music: youdidntmakethatmusic out of Beethoven. Physics: dragging things sometimes fails
I definitely love the idea of this game. The physics can glitch a bit, but it's nothing gameplay-wrecking. E.g. when you try to jump on the platform on the right and hit it at the right angle, you clip straight on to it. I definitely like the graphics. So, if you had fun developing, develop further and hopefully you can get a real release
Fun concept, but needs more content.
I don't trust this game, man.
F'ing amazing and f'ing hilarious. However, it'd be way better if all 3 forms were useful for something. I ended up using only the turtle form and it made the final boss too easy.
Too generic. Not very original or innovative.
Collision detection was broken sometimes and the enemies could walk through walls. Other than that, the idea would be pretty great if this mechanic was used for anything else. Rn it's only used for stopping enemies and every object has basically the same effect.
This game, man. What kind of drugs did you do during this compo?
Broken collision, broken physics, broken core mechanic, broken game.
This game was really fun, but it was pretty hard to get the first kill
In the beginning it was really hard, but after a while I could get 32 pts
I just have to say I love this mechanic. But it's really hard to navigate. I think the Mist shouldn't find you so quick. And I think it'd be better if the maze layout changed every time the lantern is turned on, not off. But for an 72h game, it's freaking amazing. 8/8, would r8 again m8
Brilliant! I loved every aspect of it. I like how I'm not the only one who did level shifting in their game
I have not been able to complete this. Could you upload a video of a full playthrough?
Just a black screen.
Passing through middle holes was too difficult. It created fake difficulty.
Hey, we actually had somewhat similar ideas
Lucifer Antichrist, this game is amazing. I loved the non-euclidean structure.
I like this. This is fun. But... The knifes get too fast and it becomes impossible to dodge them.
You forgot the data files in the win download
The concept itself is nice, but it would be a lot better on a smart device, where you can spin and pick the actions dynamically. It's too tedious to do so on a pc
59.2s
Young Horses? Young f*ing Horses? Snakes dating Young F*ing Horses?! This shit is amazing!
I loved this so much. And I discovered some bugs. You can fly if you stand on a box and grab it. Sometimes it's possible to retain the speed after jump-shrinking.
I killed the society twice. I didn't even look at the child on the third playthrough. On the fourth playthrough I decided to raise the kid. I named her "Snowman". She was a happy girl until I lost the game when she was 7. I wish I killed the society s'more.
This lacks playability. The concept is unoriginal. Just another duck&jump endless runner. If it had a gameplay-based twist, it'd be fun.
Beating the crap out of a fat kid? Sign me up!
Seriously though, this game is just another button smasher. Games are more fun when they're challenging.
Good god. This is beautiful.
Overall it's not a bad game. Quite fun I'd say. But the controls are too clumsy. A lot of the game is not clear in the beginning. Especially how to get off of the ladder. The goal was unclear too. The music is nice, but it doesn't fit the setting very well. One last thing: some polish would've make it much better. E.g. random texts appearing around that man, ovations (or boos when it gets dark), some introductory narrative.
Some of the button press' were off, but it's still a nice take on Guitar Hero
Hexagore does Ludum Dare = Hexagore wins Ludum Dare
Hexagore wins Ludum Dare = Hexagore wins life
Couldn't run. Console scrnshot: http://i.imgur.com/YqNvnlT.png
Sorry for the language. This literally translates to: "Exception not handled: System.AccessViolationException: Saving to or reading from secured memory was attempted. It often indicates, that some other memory is damaged"
Dunno what that means, or if it's my pc
It's really easy to die. Too easy
The controls are really hard
This is quite addicting. Although it's way too easy. I didn't feel any challenge. And there is no end, even though you stated the goal is to survive 40 days
This game is great. Love the artstyle.
I think I got every ending. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take to write the geometry shader?
This is a solid, fun and good game, however it lacks the innovation element.
I couldn't move. Is that normal? I'll only rate the graphics because of that.
Love your art style
Amazing idea. I can't be too loud here though, so it was hard for me to control it.
It crashed when I won once. It's nice, but lacks polish and better AI
I get this error:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object control:
Video file not found (or name too long).
The tourists got stuck and I couldn't beat the first wave. Otherwise it's a nice idea
This is fun. I lost when I accidentally glitched Sport Spice and she wouldn't move
The music was too loud
This game presents no challenge at all. Next time make less levels, but make them good, so the game is enjoyable.
It's an interesting idea, but way too short. This + more levels + narrative = solid game
Nice game.
Got an error: Failed to download data file
Am I a psychopath for loving this game so much? 94 Red Riding Hoods. 8/8 m8, would murder RRHs again
This game is hard. And awesome.
It took me a while to figure out what I'm supposed to do, but after that it turned out to be fun
At first I was confused about how it works. But then... Holy shit, it's the most original thing I've seen in this LD! One of my favorites. I hope you get greenlit.
I hope you made the music by yourself.
Nice idea
It lacks dynamic gameplay. And enemies shouldn't be able to track the player when they can't see him
It's not a bad idea, but the bad and awkward controls made it really hard.
Where are the binaries?
Ded at wave 10. This + some more polish and better controls would make an awesome game
After a while I got bored and jumped off
1767 on first try. It's awesome
Yet another-run-into-people simulator. It had interesting controls though.
It's ok, but needs some balancing.
I'm a monster! Bit... 32bit-Ladies love monsters!
I love the artstyle. This - bugs + story + more polish would make a great game. And I found a bug. Sometimes when climbing the big tower (church?), I could fly
Did I break it? I can't change anything or scare (it doesn't do anything when I press "Scare village"). I'll leave this unrated in case I did break something
60770 on first try
I'm not sure if I won. Was I supposed to go to the orange thing? This game doesn't have much gameplay and I didn't see how this fits the theme
I like the idea, but it's to easy and repetitive. I was just standing in one place, waiting until the hero comes so I can spam RMB and wait for the next hero
Got 330 and 82.29 accuracy on first try
I love it. It's innovative, fun and great in every aspect
I like the idea of this game, but I don't see how it fits the theme
This is awesome. I love it.
This game was surprisingly fun and innovative
This game was not very innovative, yet I felt like it's not a pattern that is being repeated all over since 20 years (*cough* CoD *cough*). It was fun to play, although it was to easy. I only lost 3 hearts during the entire gameplay. Theme interpretation was not bad, but there is a lot of games with a very similar interpretation. The graphics were ok, but were good enough to rate them 5/5. The music was fitting and nice, so were the sounds. There wasn't a lot of humor, but humor is not the purpose of LD. The music and graphics combined with the gameplay created a nice mood.
It's not a bad game, but it's not very innovative.
It was quite fun
I really like the graphics, but the controls are too hard and it's too unforgiving (only 1 HP?!)
This game is amazing. My favorite so far
This game could be fun. If it was good. Sorry, but I didn't find any aspect of this game entertaining.
This game is great! I wish it was longer.
http://i.imgur.com/7e2KTuT.png
Damn. That was awesome. LD should have a rating category "Story". Because I'd rate this 8/5.
This is great! Now stop doing whatever you're doind and go make a full game based on this.
This was fun. And I discovered a bug. After shooting a lot o men in survival they created this: http://i.imgur.com/NjfZ6AJ.png
I love it. It was too hard to get the green paint though.
This is too hard for me. Great gfx though. With some better controls and difficulty scaling it'd be much better. Also, enemies should have less health.
The game felt a bit to slow, but with some polish and artwork it could be good.
That was laggy. Avg. ~3fps. How did you do that?
I got 18 on the 3rd try. Awesome game. Android port maybe?
This is a good idea. With some polish, more levels and some story with enemies, it would make a great game. Stop whatever you're doing right now and make a full game out of this!
Amazing. The only thing this game lacks is more weapons.
I like the idea. There should be more arrows in the levels though. And I got a crash after leaving the second level.
I wish you could kill animals...
Well, that's amazing. Make more levels, add more features, sell it to steam, be an MLG 420 Pro.
This is fun. Warioware, but funnier.
This was really good. I like it.
I-have-no-idea-what-is-going-on-so-I'm-just-spamming-z-and-c. Awesome. Sometimes you just don't know how someone made a game in just 48 hours.
This is fantastic. Like in Doctor-Who-Fantastic
This game is... weird. I like it.
It seems like it has some potential, but it needs some more polish.
Awesome. I loved pushing the enemies into the lazor beams of death.
This game is awesome. It's innovative, fun to play, has good graphics, good audio, good mood. This game is everything a good LD game should be.
This game could be fun if the level design was better. It's possible to stand in one spot and just shoot at the incoming enemies. Look for "The art of Screenshake" on Youtube. It has a lot of advices for action games.
This is great! Except for the 2 glitches I encountered and the crash. 1 glitch was that a bunny stood on a tree. The other was that text disappeared at some point after I level up.
In short: Minecraft meets physics. Not bad overall, but needs more polish. If you concentrated more on making 1 very polished level and less features, but polished, it would've been great. You should work further on this game and make it a full feature puzzle/platformer game.
You shouldn't have developed it for AZERTY. The control layout makes it unplayable on QWERTY, which is the majority.
Nothing innovative here - it's not fun walking around a dungeon shooting at blobs and skeletons while doing nothing else (by that I mean that this game has only one feature), theme interpretation isn't very great, because shooting enemies is just shooting enemies. Graphics weren't horrible, but if speed-modelling isn't your thing, you could've replaced the enemies with 2d sprites (like in Wolfenstein). Audio was the best feature of this game, since you had music and a sound for shooting and one for getting hit. Not a lot of humor, but that's not the most important thing. Mood would've probably bee better with some pixely textures (even one 16x16/8x8 texture repeating on the wall would greatly improve the mood). Now, I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I don't mean to be an asshole. I'm just trying to point out everything you should improve in an honest way, as I think you should work further on this game and make it a full feature 3d dungeon crawler.
Panda hand and shark hand definitely is an unconventional weapon.
I liked the game, but it's weapons aren't very innovative. Their only mechanic is smacking fishes.
It wasn't bad, but why the heck doesn't this music based game have any audio?
As you asked eastes, here is my review on your game. First thing: it's huge. It'll take me half at least an hour to download it. After 40 minutes I've finally played it. I really don't know how this game was so huge, since it's so small. But small doesn't mean bad. Graphics were ok, audio was ok (except for the Belieber Horn) and the Belieber Horn was unconventional, even though it didn't have any innovative mechanics (same for Millenium Hawk). It was fun to play, but only for a very short amount of time. If you want to work further on this game, you need to create new mechanics for the weapons and something that would encourage the player to play more than just 2 minutes. For example, make it a rail shooter with a story and a shop with weapons and upgrades (people love buying weapons and upgrades). Overall it's 3/5 to me. (For me 3/5 is a good game, but lacking some features)
I like it. I lost pretty quickly though. But it is fun to play.
I like it. I lost pretty quickly though. But it is fun to play.
It's fun, but hard to play. Sadly, I wasn't able to play with someone.
I like the idea. And I love the sound effects <3
At first I thought it's a Kirby rip-off, but than I got to the rocket jumping part. So... Kirby + TF2 = this? Even though it's not very innovational, it's fun to play. Sadly I got stuck after a failed rocket jump (no Fwoks), so I can only rate the game until the first rocket jump. I think you should work further on this game and release it some day.
Murdering cute fluffy animals :3
It's small, but still great. One thing bothers me... Why the boob physics?
Same.
That was fun! Beating meat is so fun. I like beating meat.
Shooting projectiles at enemies isn't very innovative or unconventional
I love it! 8/8, wld r8 again m8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Msf66KUA-o
Couldn't progress after picking up the cornflake. Is there anything besides the first level? I didn't find anything in the source
Too many zombies. Too hard to kill all of them.
This violates compo rules. You can't use Minecraft textures in compo games. You have to create all assets during the 48 hours by yourself. Other than that, I liked the crafting system. Gameplay was fun, but could use some improvements.
The graphics are awesome. Kind of hard to believe you did this in just 48 hours. I'd rate it 4/5, but a hand isn't really an unconventional weapon, so 3/5. And I found some glitches. Bodies sometimes teleport and launch the player if he stands on them.
I like it.
A bit frustrating and sometimes hard, but fun.
It crashed as soon as I launched it. Win 7 Ultimate x64.
This is suprisingly fun and addictive. I lost, but this game is great. Nice theme interpretation.
Aiming is a bit hard, but otherwise it's 4/5
It's fun to play, has nice (not perfect, but nice) graphics and sound. 4/5, cause the weapon is only somewhat innovative. The greatest issue is that the movement is to fast, which makes the caracter a bit hard to control.
I like it. Interesting mechanics. Most of the other games just have shoot-the-enemy/smash-the-enemy based weapons. 4/5 overall
WTF. This game is so... I don't there exists a word so powerful to describe this game's greatness. 8/8, wld r8 again m8. Although better controls would be appreciated. E.g. mouse controls for the rod. And it glitched out when I played. After I destroyed a really high building, it went into the air and stayed at the top.
This game is amazing. Yet, 4/5. I'd rate this 5/5 if it was procedurally generated, if it had potions to restore health (at least one per floor) and if the weapons had some innovative mechanics, not just smashing monsters. But it's still a really great game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Msf66KUA-o
How did you do that in 48 hours?! It's amazing! 4/5 though, because the weapon doesn't have any innovative mechanics, just aim and shoot to kill.
I love the art style. Gameplay is good. Polished, no visiblke bugs. But the weapon is kind of like a regular flame thrower (press button to kill), so only 4/5 from me.

The game had a slight learning curve, but the experience upon mastering jumping was simply put: amazing
Quest Island by bentglasstube 2017-05-16T17:43:13Z ♥ 2
As some others have mentioned, the graphics are literally eye-hurting. And after walking for what felt like ages, I only found the wizard dude, two laundry-people next to each toher and two huts. You say that there are 16 items and who knows how many people, but the game doesn't try to make the player want to look for them. Imo the map is too big for anyone to be willing to walk for an hour to find just 3 items. I think this game would've been better with a tight map that had everything within, say, a 100 block radius or less, possibly with multiple levels (dungeons, caves, etc.). Now, I don't have anything against exploration. Quite contrary. But let's see how Skyrim nailed exploration. It had a living ecosystem everywhere. I'm not saying you should make Skyrim in Ludum Dare, I'm just saying the world lacks life, i.e it doesn't have depth

Congratulations on making a Turing complete game in Ludum Dare! Now It's time to make a computer, then write Minecraft on that computer, then make a computer in Minecraft that can play this game.

The physics were sometimes broken. Like when ou try to jump on a ledge that's like, 2 times the players height or whatever. Other than that it's alright

This is a really cool game. But for people who don’t know LÖVE, it might be hard to play your game. Consider adding a Windows executable and providing instructions on how to play on Linux and Mac
