LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Meddle by Pitƶik4 2014-05-18T19:44:00

This is fantastic. Loved the idea, graphics, and sound. My only complaint is that it can be hard to inspect moving enemies, and the controls are a bit confusing.

We had a list of games made with HaxePunk on the HaxePunk forum, but you got missed somehow, so I added you. http://forum.haxepunk.com/index.php?topic=735.0

ReD by Sakuyan 2014-04-28T16:51:00

Web version froze for me at the first right arrow sign. An empty text box comes up, then nothing.

Shark Cull 2014 by 2HitAdam 2014-05-01T15:17:00

This is awesome. It's based around a real world issue which gives it the impact of a "serious game", but it's still incredibly fun, entertaining, and humorous. Great way to make a point. Nice aesthetic as well. Fantastic job. I'm going to be sharing this with some of my marine ecologist friends :)

Shark Cull 2014 by 2HitAdam 2014-05-01T15:27:00

Just one more comment, I think the prices should be much higher to reflect the actual spending of your government on shark culling! Maybe every round you can get +N million dollars from taxes or something. Just to make things a little more absurd.

Nith the Surface by Cognizant Game Studios 2014-04-28T06:42:00

I got the following error on Linux with OpenJDK 7.0:

#
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:

# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007fdca1abfb83, pid=7457, tid=140584427005696

# Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (24.51-b03 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# C [libc.so.6+0x78b83]

(I think it happened when I lost all my health.) Also, my character seems to always face left when I'm not moving, but the sword is held out to the right.

Smoldering Star by Mikhail Lyubimov 2014-04-28T14:31:00

It looks cool, but unfortunately the page isn't loading for me.

Beneath a red sky by allinlabs 2014-05-01T06:52:00

I ran out of ammo and had to run into a room with like 6 aliens in it to get a key card. Really great job. Impressive how many different mechanics (destructible environment, oxygen, ammo, fire...) you were able to work in.

Pandorian Planet by TheRare 2014-05-18T19:20:00

Great job! Love the music and the graphics look great. For some reason I was unable to play on Chrome, but it worked just fine on Firefox. I was also only able to pull about 30 FPS.

We had a list of LD29 games made with HaxePunk (http://forum.haxepunk.com/index.php?topic=735.0) on the HaxePunk forum, and yours wasn't on it, so I'll go ahead and throw it on there. Great work!

Hide-n-Stab by bendmorris 2014-04-27T22:53:00

Hide-n-Stab was made using the Haxe programming language and OpenFL with the HaxePunk game engine. Graphics were done using Inkscape and Spine for animation. Whew! I need a nap, but I'll post more of a technical writeup later :)

Hide-n-Stab by bendmorris 2014-04-28T14:41:00

Thanks everyone. At the moment, if there are no other players, there's not much to do - if you don't see any, see if you can draft a friend into playing with you to get the full experience. I'd wanted to add some bots for when no players are online, but that's something I couldn't get to in 48 hours. I'm also going to work on mitigating the lag. It plays pretty smoothly on my desktop, but my laptop seems to stutter a bit more.

Hide-n-Stab by bendmorris 2014-04-29T03:49:00

I made a small bug fix and the lag is now greatly reduced on my laptop (which has a really terrible network card) so hopefully people will have fewer problems from now on.

Upstream by Viza 2014-05-18T19:31:00

Great puzzle! Nice level design. I was stuck for quite a while on a couple of them. Oh, and thanks for the "undo" feature :)

You are a metro car by fserb 2014-05-19T01:16:00

Really great idea, very intuitive controls and nice clean aesthetic. I had a lot of fun playing.

Persona by GFM 2014-04-28T16:31:00

Very nice! I think that's a great, creative use of the theme. Nice visuals too.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Into The Shadows by Dans17 2014-09-08T06:00:00

Fantastic. You got the Slender Man mood down perfectly.

The Garden by bendmorris 2014-08-25T15:31:00

Yes - once you have enough ants, the next one will appear. It doesn't take long.

The Garden by bendmorris 2014-08-28T03:04:00

Just in case it's not clear, the colors indicate whether something is increasing or decreasing - green is increasing and red is decreasing, and the brighter the color the faster they're changing.

When Worlds Collide by Jacic 2014-08-25T02:44:00

Great idea! Very challenging.

LD37 — One room

spring cleaning by 01010111 2016-12-12T04:46:00

Great job, love the music!

Cave Jumper by SoerenBachNielsen 2016-12-12T16:51:00

Cool idea, very fun! Seems like it would make a great mobile game.

The Growing Room by eerongal 2016-12-12T05:30:00

The hitboxes on those spikes :(

FairyTrail by Valandre 2016-12-13T04:55:00

Fun concept and looks great! I discovered that turning and going up to the ceiling worked pretty well, the AIs would basically kill themselves off without me.

What Have I Done? A Virtual Pet Simulator by bendmorris 2016-12-12T05:13:00

Sword is not broken, but I don't want to spoil what you have to do to use it :)

Refuge by exofi 2016-12-13T05:00:00

Hosting on dropbox requires people to download to play, which defeats some of the purpose of a web version. You could try Github pages as an alternative, it's free and works well.

Just pick a number by BoltKey 2016-12-12T04:43:00

Loved the idea, had a ton of fun playing through twice! Auto-typing text could use some polish.

Ludum Dare: The Game by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2016-12-12T07:46:00

Nice! Love this type of resource allocation game. Music is fantastic, nice consistent visual theme. Like the real thing, I found that eating well was the key to success.

ToyZ by Asghardian 2016-12-16T19:39:00

Fun game. Could've used more tower types and some visual/sound effects when things get hit or die.

LD45 — Start with nothing

flue by Sean S. LeBlanc 2019-10-15T03:24:19Z

Love the art style. Very creative idea.

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-07T04:05:06Z

I loved this, fantastic work. You really nailed the Mega Man inspired soundtrack, and the levels were incredibly well designed given the time constraint. I planned to see it through to the end, but unfortunately I died a few times on Stage 3 and instead of reloading, I got a black screen.

Ignis Universia: Eternal Sister Saga by arzi 2019-10-15T03:13:15Z

Well done - great graphics and music and very polished. (Did you opt out of the Audio category? I loved the music and thought it was really fitting.)

MeebÜ WeebÜ by saucygames 2019-10-15T03:22:05Z

Cute art style and fitting music. Good work!

Hungry Hungry Spiders by bendmorris 2019-10-09T17:43:39Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes it's a multiplayer game, so no it's not very fun on your own - if there's no one online grab a friend :)

Hungry Hungry Spiders by bendmorris 2019-10-15T18:23:17Z

@ddrkirbyisq this is a completely valid way to enjoy the game

If you log in and there are two other players online, it might be me in two tabs trying to bait you over to my giant spider.

LD45 - Square World by ZwodahS 2019-10-07T02:41:01Z

Love the idea! Very unique. Would love to see it further developed.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Zig-Pong by BathPirate 2018-05-03T15:52:49Z

This was fun! Simple concept with surprising complexity. Great job on the retro graphics as well.

Racingsaurus Text by Don Fouts 2018-04-24T15:35:46Z

This is one of my favorites so far. Love the idea, and the graphics are great. Picking responses while driving was a little hectic so I'd usually just mash a random one. Great job!

Augmented Reality Virtual Pet Stealth - Browser Playable by PadenPierry 2018-04-23T04:53:35Z

Nicely done. Hilarious concept.
