I loved this! It's such a funny concept - I'd love to see where you can take it with more time!

I loved this! It's such a funny concept - I'd love to see where you can take it with more time!
Thanks everyone! For people that have had problems on MegaSWF I've uploaded the SWF to NewGrounds, I've never had trouble with them in the past.
Here's a link to the two main music tracks. They're pretty unfinished since I had no time for guitar solos and the like :)
http://www.mediafire.com/?1nmx91kf0t0cq4c
You should put this on MegaSWF or SWFcabin or some other site so people can play without downloading!
I really loved this! It would be cool to add some bouncing off of walls to make the controls more fluid I think. The graphics were perfect!
I...love this game - it might be my favorite in the compo!
http://i.imgur.com/9kRFO.png
The art is fantastic, and at first I thought the style wasn't very innovative, but once I got into it I loved it and it really stood apart from the games I've played that were similar. Great work!
That was really cute! I loved the art.
This is one of my favorite LD entries so far - the concept could be built upon (I wish you would!), and I didn't mind the grind so much. Nice work - the style was really cute and refreshing!
Hey thanks everyone! I also suck at games like this BlockBrains :) The player controls are still a little wonky, it's hard to gauge how well they work when you've been playtesting every build since you get them working :)
When I click and drag, it places tons of bricks on one placeholder, and they all are destroyed if the ball hits them. Other than that, I thought the design was great, the colors were cool, and I loved the font you used!
Solid platformer, and it's so funny! Great job Sos :D
I loved it! The music at the end is perfect!
Man! This is my favorite game so far! The spirit of being a young villain is 100%! Also, it's cool to see another AS3 dev using Flod - cool tunes!
Hey, the download page says "The file you are looking for seems to be unavailable at the moment. Please come back later." I really want to play!
Totally depressing, wonderful dialog. I enjoyed it for what it was!
So smooth! I love the music! This will get you banned from /r/pyongyang!
Really well executed idea, stunning visuals, I loved it!
Man, it's so fun to fast forward and watch those particle effects when the hive catches fire. Nice work!
The audio was amazing! I got a score around 12000 - I think I'm a pretty good stomper!
Great job! I loved the dragon, gameplay was fun, and I'm downloading the source to check out how you got that dialog to work :) If you spent more time on this, I would have loved a more destructible level!
I managed to beat it, but it was pretty challenging. I liked having to come up with a good route.
My favorite entry so far - great work you two!
I love the stealth mechanic, and the graphics fit the game really well!
Great job on your first game! Making your first game for Ludum Dare was a bold move :) I loved your sprites!
Great idea! Took me back to Waldo!
It's pretty tough - I like the concept a lot, a little tweaking would make it a whole lot of fun. Great work!
The sound effects! My sides! Great work :D
Cool game - I wanted to keep playing, but I was also experiencing some massive slowdowns and single digit FPS. I loved adding to the hull!
There's still a lot of slowdown, but I was able to get fully upgraded! Awesome game - I could see it being extended really well :D
Strangely enchanting. I wish there were more options and depth, but it's excellent!
Whoa! How did you know my city?! Awesome game, I loved the mech!
This is a wonderful concept! The only thing was that once I afforded all the traps it became a little too easy. I got 190s before I got bored and let the enemies overtake me. Still, I'm giving it 5 stars just because I was so enamored by the concept. Great work!
Great idea, and the pixel art looks awesome!
You know how I feel about this game. GOTYAY. Nice going man!
I was confused at first, but got into it after a few plays, the newspaper is definitely the best feature :) I would have rather the wave type weapon be aimed opposite the direction I was heading so I could wipe out incoming terrorists, but other than that I thought it was a cool game.
I loved the concept and the art of this, great work!
Knew I'd be giving out lots of stars as soon as I saw "100% MSPaint HD Graphics"!
Holy Moly! The art and music in this is top notch! Great work :D
One of the most innovative LDs I've played! I love the mechanic, but I wish there were metrics so I could measure my progress!
Cool game! I love the split-screen control concept!
Just a little too short and not very challenging, but I loved the graphics and the sound effects! The "X" prompts were a cool touch :D
Really interesting idea, it was harder than I thought to type those letters, it might just be that I suck at typing, or that I'm only good at typing words with muscle memory. Cool idea :D
Really cool! Kept me playing for 15 minutes or so, would play for more if there was just a little bit more to it, but it's pretty solidly done! I did feel like the collision was kinda cheap - were you using Flixel's default collision? If so, I think Photonstorm's pixel perfect collision in the Flixel Power Tools would fit something like this much better. Of course, things were going so fast I could be mistaken :)
Wow! Awesome game, great work. Very simple, easy to get a hang of, reminds me of a project I started a long time ago and never finished :) I might have to try and do something with it now.
Really cool idea, I had trouble clicking on the modules to change course/etc., but figured I could do it after placing them all. Nice work!
This game could use some TLC, but it has all the elements there to make it amazing! I hope you polish it up, great work!
Awesome game, I'll agree that it might be more fluid if the notes stopped shooting after 10 seconds and audio cues would be rad. Also, I feel like a scoring system like other rhythm games would be better than one miss and you have to redo everything. All in all though I think this is a great idea and awesome entry, well done!
Wow! Beautiful art! Really nifty idea as well - looking forward to the post-compo version. Great job!
I agree that you should work on the concept more, it's such a cool idea. Reminds me of playing Torus Trooper back in the day.
I really love the concept of the Power Button mechanic, although I still found it pretty tough :)
INSANELY beautiful! I love the music too - it fits the visuals perfectly. Can you imagine how crazy the world would be if all dolphins were weapons dealers?
I agree with some other folks, I wanted to go faster, but otherwise the controls worked pretty well. Double jump and wall jump is something hard to get right. Good job!
Pretty cute concept! It was really an exercise in patience for me ;) I think my time was 120 seconds because I didn't really get that you could turn the flashlight back on haha.
Awesome entry, it was pretty tough, but I really liked the game, excellent graphics and audio!
I didn't realize the cover was part of the game and assumed I was supposed to teleport through the Barrages haha. Really beautiful game, cool animation, great colors.
I want to get further but MY FINGERS! Awesome art and sound!
AW YEAH that was rad! I kinda got the hang of some of the powerups but I kind of suck - I couldn't break 1000 :|
The page at Noragames.com says: Congrats! Awesome job! I always fall in love with your entries!
I found it tough to nail a good throw, but I love the concept. The little details add a lot to the game though, I love the bird and the plane.
I feel like some kind of giant laser blast animation and loads of particle effects could have made this really fun to play, but I had some fun nonetheless. I didn't realize that there were separate building types in the beginning and the morality check at the end made me feel awful haha.
I didn't really get the concept in game, but I feel like I get the idea you're going for, and I think it's a FANTASTIC idea, so I'm glad to see you're working on it post-compo. Keep it up!
Wow! One of my favorites! This is such a beautifully made game, amazing idea, fits the theme very well, well-crafted levels, adorable sprite, it's just all very well done!
I feel like if you had more time to spend on this you could really make some interesting levels to take advantage of the blue trails, still good work!
I loved flying around the planet, it took me a second to realize what was going on, and it got hard pretty quickly after that, but I still enjoyed carpet bombing all the moms. The simple graphics really lent themselves to the game, I feel like simplifying the "mothers" would make the game even more visually striking. Great work!
I cannot believe that I got 2 questions right :) Cool idea, but it is pretty tough! Are you collecting all of the data for some nefarious memory purpose?
The dark sequences really help drive the story and mood, although I have to admit I am a dummy when it comes to blowing up buildings.
I love the sun, great work!
Wow, this is one of my favorites so far. The map is awesome! I loved the story, the ending, it was great. I would have loved a minimap towards the end, even though the map was very easy to traverse when the game starts. Also, Hi.
I wasn't able to win, but I kept replaying because I loved the music so much! Cool idea, I wish it would throw me a bone every once in a while :)
I looooved the art and colors in this game, and it controlled really well, too. I wasn't able to get all 20 apples, but I got 19 :)
It got hard when the star came in, because I was memorizing cheese, dorito, bologna, relish...star? Great art, cool concept, although I wish I could skip the countdown. Good job!
Oh man I am so smart! This is....remarkable! That GMod face, that sharp wit, I loved it.
I got to the boss, but he destroyed me. REALLY awesome art, animations are really great - especially for a LD entry. I loved the feel of this game, I'd love to see you expand on it in the future! Awesome work!
The lighting and mood in this game is phenomenal - great work!
I love burgers and I love your art! The pizza threw me off :)
Really awesome - although the wall jumping could use some tweaking I think. It's so hard to nail wall jumping! Otherwise I loved it so much. Great work!
Really cool idea - I didn't have anyone to play with, so it's kind of hard to judge, but I wish you would spend more time one it, it'd be awesome to see with nice fluid animations and more sound effects and music.
Nice start! I kind of wish that it played with WASD and mouse aim. It would have been cool if the enemies were a bit more aggressive.
I loved the horn growing, and also reading the NG comments. Maybe I should put my LD game there :)
That was insanely hard! I let so many people down :<
Awesome game, cool powerups, and so many levels! You did an awesome job!
Excellent work as usual! Animate that Title Screen and GOTY :)
Really cool idea, well executed. I'd like to see something like this polished up really tight - great job!
Pretty great! I wish there was a way to hear the speech, or maybe tweet my final speech.
Wow, it's like top down retro L4D crossed with Super Crate Box! Excellent work!
Epic backstory, and I'm a sucker for 194X style vertical shooters :)
The game is tough, I wish there was a mode with just one screen (although allowing the computer to paint would be great), and I also wish it were fullscreen. Amazing job!
I wish it were faster too, but it was a cool game nonetheless! I really liked the graphics and lifebar
Man I loved the subtle screenshake (I'm not imagining that, am I?) as you descend. Great work! It would have been funny if you floated off once you reached space :)
Really cool spin on breakout - maybe I'm awful at it, but I would suggest spawning bees in intervals, I felt like I had to let some bees down to catch the others when they would spawn.
I loved the particle effects, even though I could never tell what was going on. I feel like I would love the controls if I could ever see what my dude was doing though. The colors are fantastic! Great work!
I'm such a terrible boss :< I love your art!
I really loved this! I want to check out your source :D Great animations, really really solid gameplay, and awesome concept. Nice work!
I really like the concept, but it was a bit tough for me. Great work though, the graphics are really cool!
I forgot to rate, but I played for a bit last night after seeing it played on Indie Impressions - I really love what you're doing with the game, I hope you expand on it, polish it up, and put it out there as a full game :) Great work!
AUGH GOD how am I supposed to type while laughing so hard? This is the funniest entry I've ever played hands down. You're a burly fellow who deserves #1 in humor
One hour huh? Not too shabby! (actually, it's super tough to do one hour game jams, so really, nice work)
I wasn't 100% sure on what was happening in battles, but I had some fun, and the game looks super nice!
Interesting game! I felt bad that I killed so many people before taking out the target (which I am assuming was the guy in color)
Cool game, love the graphics, the fox merchant is super cute!
really cool game, it was pretty difficult, but I managed to get the Templ happy :)
Cool art - in game and illustrations. I am awful at this type of game, but I managed to take out at least half of the enemies!
Super cute! I was unable to get past all those knives though!
Super short! I love the running animation - good luck continuing this and other games!
Cool game, I fell in love with the music :)
Amazing game, really enjoyed myself. The aesthetic is mesmerizing!
Super cool game! I loved playing it, very well polished.
Very addictive gameplay! My top score was 17, I'm glad no one is posting like 200 because I felt like I was really bad at it. Really great art and movement.
Awesome concept! I managed to cheater style it to win by just using those tiny pieces to make a tiny station :)
Really epic OST to this game
Very cool! I wish I had someone to play with. The music was totally rad too, I can imagine it would be the sort of thing Morricone would make in a 72 hour game dev competition :) I loved the bullet retrieval mechanic! (and as usual, your art is super awesome)
Oh I should have read the text on here about collecting energy from debris. I was just panicking the whole time and performing pretty abysmally.
Awesome game, hilarious names and premise.
Really great entry. I love the art, and I've never really played Clue, but it was intuitive enough to figure out. Great work!
Art style is super pretty, I was awful at lazering cats though.
This definitely deserves a high placing in Innovation and Mood, such a well executed concept. I'll have to play more when I'm not so scared of the dark :)
Awesome job! I love the art, the controls are pretty solid, but I found the game a little tough. I'll be trying to beat it later though.
Really tough, I was always being surrounded by zombies no matter how much I spammed the attack button!
Really cool use of the theme, pretty moody as well. There just isn't enough time in the day :,)
so katamari hacking. wow (Spooky NSA sound effects made me jerk my head back to see who was at my door)
Really cool take on the theme, I was like the global Pen Magnate for a second, and then I lost EVERYTHING.
Pretty great game, entering in codes to progress is a fun concept.
So excellent! Steve let everyone drown though.
Phenomenal atmosphere! VERY cool camera and game play, wish there was a bit more to do, but otherwise, super cool entry!
Awesome work! I love the roguelike movement mixed with puzzle gameplay - only thing I would suggest is maybe faster movement, I was impatient pressing the arrow keys :)
Love this entry - the movement was really smooth, and the animation was goofy. Wish I could aim and shoot through fish though.
I only have myself to play with, but from what I gather, this is a really cool game! I think maybe better attack animations and a larger play area would really benefit the fast action :D
Really cool idea for a game, it was a bit tough for me, but I really like the mechanics.
Oh the plight of the city worker! Really interesting idea, I liked how the mechanics of the top and bottom layers had just a tiny bit of a difference but it changed the gameplay a lot.
got p. addicted to this. Was making around 6000g/s, had 300 of each unit, most upgrades cost about 10,000g when I figured I'd let the dragons take me :) http://i.imgur.com/CtGbNh2.jpg
Awesome art! I loved the fire pillars. It's super short, but I can see a lot of time went into the art :) Great job
Super awesome entry! You could polish this up just a tad and I'd be hooked! Leaving the map screen seems to reset the invert option, and it'd be nice to be able to control the map rotation and zoom. I want to play more!
Also, reading your post mortem, I totally got a Descent vibe from this!
Yeah I couldn't get past the initial two dark rooms, but the idea is really interesting!
I dunno if I won? I think I won.
It's very hard to control, but I managed to beat up a few sheriffs and get a decent amount of gold :) awesome music!
Really neat game, very relaxing. I feel like the movement could flow better, but as it is now it feels like a very old school PC game :)
I really like the way this plays, the momentum felt really great!
Really interesting concept - I just wish it played a little bit faster :) I also couldn't tell when I could place wood or leaves, which really just led to frustration by always clicking and waiting.
Pretty awesome idea, I was definitely unable to keep up with all four sides though :<
penguin bullet hell? this is awesome :D love the way you can return to the title screen.
Pretty fun! I found that it was much easier to play when being overly cautious :) Hiscore:28
Really cool game! I was awful at it, but it was super fun to dive and fly out of the water.
Really interesting game, I enjoyed it! It was a little difficult to control and the feedback to the player was a little hard to understand, but I think it could be polished up really nicely.
Really excellent game! Graphics were awesome, audio is fantastic, and although I didn't catch on until my second playthrough, I was able to complete all three levels with ease. Navigating was challenging, but very easy to figure out at the same time. Great job!
I beat it on my first attempt, but I like the game over screen the most :)
I love this entry! The sound effects are so gushy and nice, I feel like you could make more interactions and flesh this game out to be something really cool and interesting :)
I loved the different special attacks and the huge amount of enemies! Good work!
Loooove it! Adorable animation, GREAT puzzle design - great work!
Cute game with cute graphics and I suck at it but I did finish with 271 turns :)
Wow! Incredible work! I hope you flesh it out a little more because I was definitely hungry for more content at the end :)
Awesome mechanics, I've seen a handful of really great takes on the classic box moving mechanic and they've all been really ingenious!
Oh man this is great! Once Her story began I really got into it. Great work!
Awesome take on the theme! It's super difficult to balance the two sides, but it's a lot of fun!
I really like this concept - it would work pretty well as a mobile game if you could fling things away from couples!
Really awesome concept! I had a lot of fun playing, it was easy to understand, but a little difficult to master - wish it were a little longer :)
Interesting concept - going to play again to try and keep all the stars alive :)
Cool game - I got some pretty bad slow down while walking though (maybe ~5fps)
I had a hard time getting the controls down, but had a lot of fun!
Really loved the idea behind this! It took me about 45 seconds after a couple of deaths, but I'm not the greatest puzzle player :) Wish there were more levels!
Awesome game, awesome concept, great art, nice audio, I loved it!
Christer you are so dang cool I wanna hang out with you!
Super awesome game! I love the energy, powerups are great, especially the missiles :D
Very difficult, but I managed to win in under a minute (with 11 lives lost I think)
Awesome walkcycles! Love the art, love the idea, but at level 3 I was already the worst St Peter :)
Great concept! I wish it were a little more balanced (maybe by removing a couple of items?) but I had fun and was able to make a whopping 10.75 a year :D
Wow! Amazing graphics and audio - I really wish the game were longer. You should work on a post jam version with all of your planned content in :D
I had never heard of Les Shadoks, checking it out it does seem like a treasure trove of design inspiration! Cool puzzles!
Really solid game! My score was 38 :) Loved the simple icons and the passenger mechanic.
Loved the walkcycle! I was only able to make it to one planet though :<
Too bad it's unfinished, but I did enjoy the melancholy life of a chicken :)
Oh baby! Cool game - looks beautiful!
I loved the ultra lofi aesthetic and the colors were rad, also the lowpass music was really cool!
Pretty interesting idea for a game! I eventually got the hang of it and gave up after 200 sec. Loved the music, kind of reminded me of Akira :D
Too bad you didn't finish, I enjoyed the art - especially the color palette you went with. I have a soft spot in my heart for wrenches :)
Pretty enjoyable! It was a little difficult for me to tell what color bullet the cannon was going to fire, but you did a great job!
Rad concept! I didn't have a smartphone or friend to play it with, but I played a bit for both sides and thought it was awesome!
I loved all the powerups! This would make a really fun game if you expanded on it :D
Fantastic art and audio! I love the game feel too :)
Awesome art! I had a tough time surviving and remembering which weapon killed which monster though :)
Really love the art, music, and idea, but I thought the clicking along with the scrolling was pretty rough. Maybe the ability to hold down A, W, D, or S (to erase) and then click to make a block would work? Anyway, great job!
Cool idea! I'm new to clicker type games, but I loved the aesthetic, the underlining story, and especially the audio! Good work!
Love the idea, and the audio is phenomenal! Great work!
I'm getting a DNS error trying to access the game :(
Really awesome concept - it will be interesting to see how this changes during the course of voting!
Love the concept - it could be taken waay further! Pizza <3
Solid shmup that you could definitely build on for future games! I'm glad it looks like you figured out the blank screen thing - I had the same problem and for me it was because I was trying to run fullscreen :)
Wow! The first time I died I thought "Well that's dumb, all three lanes have asteroids, I can't drive past that" - but then when I realized the connection between worlds it all clicked. Awesome job!
Cool game YEAAAAAAAHH! Minimap would be highly advantageous :D
top notch noodle physics, ominous noodle lord, amazing noodle music!
Very fun! The end of the first level had me enraged!!! Good work :D
The hordes of animals are pretty hilarious and the island looks great! Awesome hiscore display too :D
Congrats on your first LD :D
HTML version was really slow for me, but I enjoyed it - really awesome music!
Great coming-of-age tale
Wasn't really sure how to work things, but I love the art! Amazing job with the characters!
Such a cool Kings game! Great work man!
Very addictive! There are a lot of directions you could take with this game (mobile, multiplayer, etc) great job! (I wish the 'dictionary' was larger)
Awesome entry binary brother! The art is fantastic, and the music is rad!
One of my favorites! Hilarious to see all of those notes, felt like an abbreviated Dark Souls experience :)
I like this idea! It is kind of like Lemmings with tactics like gameplay. Good work!
Man this is a tough puzzle game! I have no idea how you came up with this mechanic, but it's great!
I really REALLY love the idea of the healthbag!
I love the idea, and the different color schemes looked great! I'm awful at doing two things at once, but I managed to make it across a few checkpoints!
Really awesome game! Once the blue square came on the scene things got too mind boggling for me!
Clever clever clever. I was going to mention how short it ended up being, but I'll chalk that up to my own superior intellect.
I think with such a small scope, the graphics could have been much better, but The audio was rad and reflected exactly the right amount of polish I would expect.
Very fun entry. Love beating the crap out of the spooky dudes, the gameover audio is so good I never skip it. Like I mentioned, the genre-agnostic BGM is stellar!
I would love to see more elbow grease put into the graphics, but on the whole it looks ok.
Enemy and background variation could add a lot more to replayability. Also I feel like the gameover/levelup/intro "worlds" feel disconnected from the levels. It'd been cool to walk away from the fire into the level somehow, and I feel like it would tie it all together well.
Really remarkable art style, great audio design, I loved the juiciness of the paint.
I feel like analog controls would throw this over the top for me - I had a lot of trouble platforming. I also think some more juicy music would have made me stick with it longer.
The art direction is just so solid though, amazing work!
Really cool take on line rider! The real time drawing made it a lot more intense :)
The lines were jaggy on my computer, so I want to try and play the web build later. If I find out why I'll let you know :)
Graphically I think it'd be cool if you were able to juice up the lines with better art, and the explosion could be more impactful (check out this article, it's great - http://ctrl500.com/game-design/explosions-in-vlambeers-nuclear-throne/ ) but all around it's still a fun entry! Good work!
Very relaxing, I enjoyed collecting energy. I also enjoyed shooting the energy pellets, even though they didn't really do anything.
I really thought the graphics overall looked great, but as individual elements, they kind of left something to be desired. Individual planet textures would be cool, or maybe even simplifying them to geometric shapes / platonic solids / toonshaded junk would have been cool.
Audio was great, but in a very passive way. I think more variation, more experimentation, etc. would have been more engaging.
Overall, it accomplished what you intended, I enjoyed flying around, flying far away to see the entire system, it's a really cool entry!
Really amazing amount of polish! Art looks fantastic and the audio is phenomenal, right down to the pop of the enemy projectiles. I found the core mechanic engaging for a little while, but after a few levels it got to be boring to me. Maybe it could have been more engaging if there was BGM that I had to stay in-rhythm with, or if the chords changed up every once in a while, but I just didn't feel like memorizing any of the sequences.
Other than that, it was a fantastic entry! One of the most polished I've played! Amazing work!
I have two complaints about this game
1) The gameplay didn't quite fit the mood imo. The 'story' of the game was very very somber, but the gameplay felt goofy and fun! I'm not sure how you could have made the gameplay fit the current story, but I feel like without the story (and the music accompanying the story) you could have made a slick B-Ball adventure platformer.
2) The controls felt very floaty. I was playing on gamepad and I was constantly falling into pools and missing my mark. hitboxes felt very unforgiving (I had to remind myself that the weapon was a knife and not a longsword).
HOWEVER, I loved the concept, and totally loved tossing the lantern around like a ball. The audio was very well made, but the music fit the story better than it did the gameplay.
Amazing work as usual, always super psyched to play your games ;D
AH! Just realized I hadn't actually rated this one yet :)
The other week I was telling you how I could see the game being cooler with other graphics, like tile-based stuff or something. After playing another few rounds (currently at wave 20 btw) I feel like it's fine the way it is, in fact if anything, I would suggest a simpler, sleeker look. The enemies could definitely be cooler looking, but I found myself looking at the keyboard to "realign" my hands during furious button mashing sessions.
It's always tough to gauge the balance of tower defense games, but I felt like this was extremely well balanced. I never felt like the waves were way too tough, but I also usually felt a lot of anxiety, which I think is the point with TD games :)
The audio is good, the mechanical keyboard sounds are over the top on my tower because I have a mechanical keyboard, but I love the audio on my laptop.
I feel like cool geometry-wars style particle effects would have pushed the graphics from so-so to amazing! You should definitely practice that kind of thing because I feel like if you could do them well and quickly, the payoff on your games would be enormous!
Anyway, great work as usual! You did a great job adapting the theme into a mechanic (which I feel was really tough this jam) instead of just making a game with a character that has a goofy weapon.
Awesome work! I think my favorite part of this game is the music, super catchy tune!! The throwing animation is also cool, but some of the frames seem like they're off-center, like one of the feet that should be planted moves around too much or something.
I think you could try out some other mechanics with the same RPS premise - like maybe a 3-sided pyramid that you rotate to match the incoming enemies or something. What could have really helped this is if there were big explosions every time you hit an enemy with the correct piece. I'm also curious to know if enemies can shield the enemies behind them by absorbing incorrect projectiles.
I can cheese the heck out of the left-click - managed a high score of 321 :D
Really solid entry, but there were a few things I had trouble with.
I feel like in the Rhythm Game Handbook (tm) dictates extra hits being ok, couple that with an unforgiving timer (and maybe a tiny bit of lag due to my soundcard's settings) and by the second stage I was completely unable to proceed.
The graphics were cool (I loved the visualization), but they could have used a lot more work. The demons weren't readable, they just seemed like spiny shapes in the middle of all the action.
Overall though, I love rhythm games, and I will probably try later to get to the last stage because I'm curious what the last emotion is. Great work!
The wall of text in the tutorial made my eyes glaze over, and I lost one night to not understanding the mechanic. I think an in-game tutorial on day one would have made it easy to understand, because in the end it's pretty simple.
Also finding people was frustrating, I get that it's kind of part of the timer mechanic, but the tension was just all "dangit where is everyone" instead of a driving force.
There are some cool ideas in here though, and the graphics are great! The high-speed-dating-sim thing is a pretty fun take on things :D
Great work!
Super good mood, very relaxing thunderstorms. The moss shader stuff was balling out of control.
This would have been way way better with a working camera, and would have been over the top good with another mechanic or two - it wouldn't have to be combat or something else gamey, but something more to do would really incentivize more game play.
Awesome work!
So the combat, art, and audio were all a little lacking for me, I would have loved to seen this as polished as possible. BUT - the mechanic was really fun! I was spooked, and despite the unclear directions (I didn't know gorgons == medusas) I picked it up within a quick playthrough. This is the first time I've played a game with medusa that actually felt like a proper medusa game!
Excellent work!
Solid entry, I super enjoyed myself! Loved all the guns, loved the gameplay - think it could get a little more fast-paced and intense, would love to see where you could take it in a post-jam version.
The graphics were the weak link for me, but they aren't bad, so you did a great job overall!
Sweet gifs ;P
Really fun game, loved the idea. One thing I would change is the throwing mechanic. I think maybe a "Flappy Birds" type click and drag would be more intuitive. Love the music, it fit really well with the game.
Some of the graphics could have used a bit more polish, but they work well for what you've done :)
Really awesome entry! I can't wait to check out the source :) Always love your striking but simple art!
Super fun game! It took me a while to get used to the left/right movement/shooting thing - I guess my mind gave shooting priority to moving - but when I got the hang of it I had a blast! I do wish it had an awesome soundtrack though!
Amazing art, super great feedback/gamefeel, fun concept! Great job!!
I'm sad there wasn't more, but I hope what you made makes your next game a lot easier to build! Amazing art as usual, it's almost weird seeing your art at such a high resolution :)
One of the most innovative games this LD I think! I wasn't able to complete it - I seem to be stuck on the level after that 3 story one :< love the graphics, really love the bgm :D doesn't fit the theme at all, but still a great game!
Nevermind - I tried a few more times - 1084.463 :)
I wish I had more interaction with the people, and sometimes I'd smash someone and they'd get up 5 or 6 more times, which was a little confusing, but the art and audio were both top notch! Great work!
Your level generation creates some visually stunning stuff! I kept forgetting which objects were hazards and which ones were powerups, so I never lasted more than a few screens, but it's still pretty awesome! If the gameplay was a little more engaging, I think you'd have a hit on your hands :)
I really liked the audio :D did you get the clips from old movies?
I really enjoyed this game! You made a really simple shooter, but the accuracy mechanic made it really intriguing and engaging! The art is really cool, fits the gameplay well - the morphing shapes, parallax scrolling, even the reticle were all very pleasing to look at. Great work! I managed a score of 228 I think (I played earlier and the LD system ate my original ratings and comment), but I wanna come back later and try to get a higher score.
Super awesome entry!! Solid all the way around! Amazing work as usual :)
This is one of my top picks so far! The gameplay is simple and fun, the graphics look really cool, but what really made it for me was the music! The title sounds like a funny toejam and earl tune, and the main bgm is like a cute earthbound tune! Your sprites and colors are over the top good too! Awesome job!!!
This is a really solid foundation for something really awesome! I'm gonna be peeping that level generation in your source :)
wooooow this might be my favorite from you! The puzzle/action gameplay feels perfect, the art is rad, the drone bgm fits perfectly. My one gripe is that you could tighten up the sound effects.
Really amazing work dude! Great job!
This is a really remarkable entry! The art, audio, mood, and systems are all really intriguing. I had a problem when I started it up and immediately felt overwhelmed by the tutorial, all the people I had to keep track of, the timers, etc. but I think you could really tighten the game up, balance the progression, and it'd be something that I'd love to play for hours!
Awesome work!!!
Really cool game! I thought the day/night cycle was a really interesting thing to have in a clicker game, and I really like the interaction between the day/night, chupas/daywalkers, dead/flesh stuff. I did quickly find that there was nothing really to spend my flesh on - once I was generating chupas/walkers, clicking to get one while I had thousands felted like a waste / there was no point on spawning more chupas because I was already converting more dead to flesh per second than I needed - also making the flesh harvesting not necessary / the puppies already have my people population into the millions so I don't want to click them, so now I'm just idling waiting to spawn more daywalkers. I do like the diamonds for some reason. At first they seemed unnecessary, but now I want more...
I clicked so much that employees were $0 so I got 2k, and then I noticed my money freaking out! I kept wishing there were commas in the numbers because I felt dumb looking at big numbers and not knowing which one was bigger :P Anyway, the art is really really good, and you managed to make another really funny game!
Awesome job!!
Really engaging action! I feel like if there were a few more meaningful ways to interact with the fighting system, I could sink some serious hours into playing this! I feel like the audio could have used a little more work, but I can feel the love you put into all the art, animation, and game feel! Amazing work!
A really great game that does an awesome job making an old analog game into a really fun video game! Super cute run cycles! Great job binary brother!
I love how the game looks kinda meh in a screenshot, but in motion it's really awesome! A lot of people are mentioning the particle effects, they're really awesome. I kept getting killed by enemies spawning on top of me :< but it's pretty fun! Nice work partner!!
Awesome job! I love all the little details you added to the text.
It was fun to play, but even with 40 gold I couldn't seem to attract the adventurer's attention!
I kept getting stuck after applying the mascara and lipstick on the second monster, dunno if I missed something or if it was a bug :< no one else seemed to have a problem with it!
Anyway, I watched Larry the Chupacabra's video and HOT DANG what an amazing entry! I saw your tweet earlier in the weekend and immediately knew this game was special. Awesome work! I'll check back later to see if I can play further :)
It's so awesome that you were able to make this over a weekend! It plays really well, looks fantastic, and there's a ton of funny stuff! Awesome work!
What an awesome entry! It manages to feel very "papers please" without really lifting anything from it! I sometimes had no idea what I was doing, it felt like I was missing some key point of info. In a post-jam version I would look into fixing the mouse overlap stuff, sometimes I'd click near the left of the screen and the help screen would appear, and if my cursor overlapped a couple of options at the bottom it would sometimes choose the one in the back instead of the front. These are TINY gripes tho, amazing work!!!!
Really solid entry! I loved the look of everything. The floaty controls were ok at first, but got frustrating when the ice and falling blocks came into play - at that point I really wished it was tile-by-tile movement, or at least more input -> velocity than input -> acceleration. Even so, I still enjoyed the game a lot! Great job!
Such an awesome entry! A few of the games were a little frustrating, but that's the beauty of minigames - onto something fun right away! Great work!!
Really interesting game! I felt like the movement and radius of sadness were a little too analog or something, or like I wish I knew exactly where all the "hitboxes" were so I could do the puzzle more efficiently.
This game feels like twitter sometimes
Awesome work!
Really solid rhythm game! At first I thought I didn't really need to use both buttons, but level two destroyed me. Once I started using both buttons it felt very good and I was able to complete the game. Awesome work, it looks and sounds amazing!
One of my favorite games this LD! I've played several times, and I'm still enamored by it. Really great work! I wonder if you could write an algorithm that plays it backwards or something to generate more levels? I want to play hundreds of them!
Awesome game! I am really in love with the missiles - they look so perfect, and even though I'm not even firing them, it feels good to play! Great work as always :D
Amazing work! I loved the mechanic, the graphics were on point, and the audio was rad - but I really suck at the game - I don't think I could even get to the stage where other people are stuck :P
Great job :) I'm really impressed with the graphics and style you pulled off in this, and the audio fits perfectly, and the ending is really special!
Definitely one of my favorites so far! I love just about everything about it - I just wish I could lean back and see the whole plant when I'm through. Amazing work!
I got too dizzy to continue, but the vine, flowers, and butterflies were all really beautiful!
As usual probably my favorite art this LD, the audio is super great as well. I liked the mechanics when things were "easy" but I don't think I ever got good enough so after making it through the first tiny corridor and getting turned around I got mad and quit. if you could use the mouse to aim your shots maybe I could have gotten farther?
This was deceptively fun! You could really chain together a few by getting the hang of hovering at the last minute to get some time back, and I really loved your explosion particle effect! Great work!
Really amazing work as usual! The graphics were phenomenal and the audio was really nice. I felt like the gameplay was a little bit too fast paced for the core mechanics - juggling items felt frustrating to me. I also got really sad when I slipped up once and all my crops got eaten. I really want to play a more chilled out version of this!
Still, had a lot of fun! Great work!
I had a lot of trouble with the controls, but surprisingly walljumping felt INSANELY intuitive and good! You did an interesting job incorporating all the controls with two buttons, even if I had trouble wrapping my head around it!
Ah man I really thought looking at the screenshots and looking at the controls that the game would be simple and frustrating, but it's really got more depth than I figured, and the controls feel really good! Awesome work :)
I really enjoyed the game, and the push and pull of getting powerups and getting hurt kept me playing for a while. There was a bit of latency for me, but I'll test out the lo-fi .bat and maybe squeeze some more gameplay out of it. The graphics look really amazing, and I loved the music! Great work!
Really fun! I got a little jumpy with the controls, which made double jumping tough, but I thought the concept of an endless runner with multiple vertical rooms was awesome, if not a little overwhelming :D Great work!
Really awesome looking entry!! Very solid overall as well :D It did crash a few times on the higher settings, but I enjoyed it nonetheless - great job!
Ah! This one was really great! I was confused at first, but once it all came together I fell in love with it. I do wish there was so much more, but it was a great little adventure! On a side note, I made a little minigame for Mungo that is super similar to your pipe puzzle! :D I hope you make more like this!
Insanely beautiful presentation! I really wish there was a way to move in both directions, but you were really stuck with the theme. Maybe if the mouse's x position was mapped to both screens and clicking would move the designated player like you already have it? I dunno! Great work!
Your art and music always amaze me! I wish the game were longer, and I think you could probably come up with a few more mechanics to help with that. Still, really remarkable stuff - I am always bummed when you don't submit to the compo so I can peep dat source :P
All around solid entry! I had a lot of fun with it, I don't think I'm very good, but I managed a score of 35 before being overwhelmed by enemy fire. I'm really in love with the music! Great job!
Living up to its name at ~350MB!! Really cool concept, I love how the simple geometry shows heading really well. I think this would look nice with a toon shader :D Good work tackling Unreal in a weekend!
Ahh! the pig butt steals the show, but I think my favorite part was the chef animations! The foot flop is A+! Also, I really loved the music! Great job!
Awesome Katamari-like! The further the camera zoomed out, the worse the framerate became - and during the 175m level it made it almost impossible to play :< (I'm on Chrome) otherwise, I loved it! Great work!
ah man I can finally hear the audio. I really love where you took the game from the second night on into sunday - the clouds, the green, and especially the water were huge improvements. I wish there were more systems to interact with - did you see managore's planetarium?
Oh man! The actual firing is super brutal! The fact that you can aim at different body parts is pretty cool - good work! I just wish that that reticle were more cooperative
I wasn't able to get the hang of it, but I really love your idea of a bard/mage rhythm minigame! The graphics were awesome as well! Good job!
oh man, it really ramped up in difficulty all of the sudden! Awesome work, I was hoping there would be a few great rhythm games this LD! :D
You have no idea how happy this makes me! I love itch.io!!! Great work :D keep it up!
Wow! I thought it was going to be easy, but keeping track of the offset between the two options really shook me up! Awesome idea for a game, very well executed! Great job!
I really loved this game! I got stuck and frustrated in the 3rd level, but I think if I were to play some more and really get the controls down it wouldn't be a problem. I would love to see a post-jam version with tweaked controls! (I also felt like holding down the left button to attach the rope and releasing to release would feel more natural) Great work!
I came really close to doing something similar! Anyway, it's super tough to balance, but it's a fun game! I think you could add some comedy with more animations on the face - something like those gameboy camera DJ animations would have suited it really well!
Cool game! I felt like the inertia on the player made it really tough to play, but I'm sure with more practice I will get the hang of it :) Good work!
Deceptively challenging! I couldn't break 1k :)
I agree with the other commenters - a countdown would be great! Also using LEFT/RIGHT to select the menu items would be awesome, I hated having to use the mouse to restart :P
Innovative game!
Really cool idea for the theme - I wonder how many people are tweeting this and whether or not it's creating a lot of confusion among their friends :D
Squid friend! Awesome work! I loved the limitations and clever implementations of puzzles :D I did really wish that you could rotate both directions, but a few minutes in I didn't really care. Awesome graphics!
COOL! my favorite thing was to mash right and down :) I guess it isn't a """game""", but I'm glad you made it anyway and it didn't hurt your ratings
Ah cool! It took a little getting used to, but after that chaining together combos was a lot of fun! It also took me a while before I realized the green orbs weren't enemies - I got up to 35k, I need to step it up!
I mean, what can I say? Great job as usual? It's better than that! Amazing work - you're really an inspiration :D
Really interesting idea! Cool puzzle that really fits the theme well!
super cool! I loved the graphics, the colors felt especially squishy :D
Awesome job as usual!
:0 it got weird, the music is super awesome!!! It was tough to navigate and get a hold of the controls, especially the shield seemed off. Everything felt kinda floaty, and I think I'd like it a lot more if there was more to the powers than matching them with the NPCs. Still I had a lot of fun with it :D good job yall
HOLY CRAP! This is really really amazing Taro! Platforming segments felt strangely good (with the combination of 3D and semi-visible character, I was really worried about it :P) and the concept is super interesting! Might be one of my favorite games from you! Good work!!
One day I'll beat it...one day...
Good work!
I really love your games :D You have an excellent eye for visual design, and the mechanics are really fresh and easy to dive into. Great work!
Really loved this :D The keys felt kinda funny, but I can imagine the ghosting was tough to work around! Great work!
Wow holy crap! The art and audio are probably the best I've heard this LD! :D Great work!!!
I really really love the rabid animation so much! Also did you throw in the nokia font? It almost looks like a flixel game :PPP
This is really excellent! Very elegant game design, surprisingly fun, I'm curious to know how the size mechanic impacts gameplay (aside from maybe just obscuring the play field?).
Awesome work!
Some of the platforming felt a little wonky, but it was still super fun to play, and of COURSE the music is super well polished! Awesome work!! I also really like how you specified how much time each track took on your bandcamp :D Cool!
Cool game - I want to echo keyboard controls for the menus would have made it a lot easier to continue playing
Really really really REALLY cool game! I've played with key/mouse and gamepad, and both feel really nice (although gamepad is WAY better). I really love the graphics, effects, particles, super awesome job on all of that. The drum and bass is also really on point! modern sleekness and old-school reese (reece? was this ever settled within the dnb community??) bass...I luh it <3
hey good job
oh dag! Sorry y'all, forgot to hit publish :) I was at a jam site and got swept up in the show and tell!
whoops! I forgot to add the source! everything is good now :)
I like the opportunity to heal the critter :) A lot of TD games are so strict on that kind of thing. I kind of wish the player had to click on fruit to collect it, I feel like it'd make the game more frantic, which might be a bad thing :P
Really enjoyed playing through the different levels! I got stuck on 4 but I think I may have missed something. This reminded me of games like Lemmings and the Incredible Machine - both of which I loved as a kid :) The physics felt kinda goofy but I think it ends up being endearing!
Loved this! I really dig puzzles like this and had a lot of fun working that last level out
I'd love to see how this evolves if you develop it further!
Incredible art, incredible atmosphere. You did an amazing job :raised_hands:
I really love the anibuns :) things eventually got pretty hectic and my anibuns would get stun locked but I really loved the dash ability (especially with Jumpy). I'd love to see the anibuns return in your future work :)
Very fun puzzle game that sort of hides its complexity in an extremely accessible format! I love it!
I really love entries like this! Really pretty and relaxing - I really want to check out the source code to see how you're doing the audio :)
Good work!
You made it so much more forgiving than when I last tried it :joy:
I love the controls, I kind of wish there was a visual indicator to your attack range, but once you get the hang of it it feels great to bop those imps
Nice work!
Really polished entry! The art was fantastic, and the music really made a cohesive mood. Great work!
A few people pointed this game out to me because it's similar to my entry but there's so much about this that's different! I love your art and the transitions between frames are spectacular! Great work
Cool game! I imagine you could probably extend this in all kinds of ways like adding water, animals, villages, etc. It'd be cool to extrapolate all the systems working together :)
A really remarkable game! I love everything about it, great work!
AH! This really made me feel like a kid at an arcade trying to get tickets! Wonderful job!
I love physics games like this! Great job!
Very impressive graphics! I really enjoyed the game :)
Very cool concept, very well executed! I was really into the 1 to 1 parity in size!
Funniest entry I've played this jam, loved the flip!
Really unique entry! I really liked playing through it, wished there were more levels and I wished that I could use left and right to rotate counter-clockwise and clockwise. Great work!
Incredible art style!
I really love the balancing act! Also really really loved the art :)
Very cool, very meta, I really enjoyed it :)
I really enjoyed the idea of having to check back with the main computer to figure out what's wrong, the FOW effect really heightened that aspect. I think this idea could also work really well in a first person 3D game because the level geometry would obscure things too.
Great work!
I really love when levels start throwing curve balls at you and you have to deduce an optimal path! Great work :)
Cool aiming mechanic! It takes a while to get used to but it felt nice!
I really enjoyed this game, sometimes these kind of plate spinning games can be frustrating or give me anxiety but this was balanced so that I just really enjoyed myself throughout the experience :)
yee!
This is a really great puzzle game! One of the more intriguing, challenging, and original ideas I've seen so far! Great work!
The addition of the cage makes this a really cool game! Great job!
Really novel controls that felt really fun and arcade-y!
This is so good! I absolutely love when a game can mash up two codified mechanics in such a cool way! Great work :D
I LOVE the easing on the initial virus' makes the game feel tough even though that first level is very forgiving. The green virus' are really tough to predict, I wonder if a future version of this would benefit from a brief vulnerable period right before it attacks the heart or something? Overall good work!
This is harder than submitting a PR to haxeflixel
The music was great, added a lot of tension to the game that was already pretty tense!
10 deaths, 0 score, level 1.1 :joy:
Captured the anxiety of a crowded airport extremely well! I really enjoyed the art as well :D Great job!
I LOVE this art. I felt like I was playing something on Newgrounds
The gameplay was pretty simple but really fun! I shot the turtle king like 20 times :joy:
:hamburger: :turtle:
Had a lot of fun throwing food around like basketball! Cool entry!
Really enjoyed this! Frantic and fun and really good looking!
Definitely one of my favorites this LD! It's so simple and elegant with such gorgeous graphics. Congrats!
my favorite this LD. 0 stars
Saw this on itch, first LD game I've played so far and I really love it! It took me half a dozen tries to really get into it, but once I had a thread going I immediately fell in love :D Great job!
One of my favorite games this LD! Surprisingly deep and playable, will definitely be coming back to play long after this LD wraps up :D
This was really cool! I just wish it was easier to get back into the action quicker after dying
Really love this entry as well as how elegantly these two games act together! Awesome work as usual
