got to lvl 25, was a interesting game, i like how you gave a few levels to show how the new mechanic worked

ilya-nazarov 2020-04-20 10:53

Liked it very much! Feels a bit repetitive. Also IMHO visual setting should be more reasonable - the garden with the black abyss around looks strange)) But nevertheless it is still very addictive and fun puzzle!

brotherbyto 2020-04-20 11:43

Really nice puzzle game.

Got to level 24.

steelysam 2020-04-20 12:21

Great job with the puzzles, very addictive after the first few levels

ioan-pop 2020-04-20 13:49

Music, audio, and level progression were very well done! I saw one typo that I think you might want to know about tho, in the part about the aging tile you say "live it again" in the third part but I think you meant "leave" :)

alininavcisi 2020-04-20 13:55

nice sfx and liked music also.

martiansteve 2020-04-20 13:56

Nice game! Got to the mid teens, was fun puzzle to play with difficulty level judged well. My only feedback is the cracked tiles looked quite similar, so it was hard to see which ones were which.

loig 2020-04-20 13:59

Thanks @ioan-pop for the typo. Nice that you liked the game.

loig 2020-04-20 14:19

I agree with you regarding the tiles @martiansteve I sadly did not find a way to make them more distinguishable one from the other (except for using radically different colors, which I did not want to).

loig 2020-04-20 14:19

And it's very nice that you liked the game!

a-312 2020-04-20 14:52

If you don't fall that mean you don't play to this game ! (The falling sound was too nice ! )

team-prosit 2020-04-20 15:46

I loved it, good mechanics, good puzzles. The voice of the player when he falls it's too funny.

sndr 2020-04-20 17:05

Oooh, a puzzle game! The pace at which complexity grows is very well done. It's a very nice experience. Simple graphics, yet effective. Audio is cute! Overall, a very nice entry.

(Also, can't believe that I had to do level 2 three times because I kept falling on the same tile... must be the lack of sleep)

mrvarren 2020-04-20 17:11

It was very cool! I love how you introduced the new mechanics! Well done!! :)

brandon-js-lea 2020-04-20 18:05

Quite charming, and good easy to get tutorialisation.

A lot of the levels are very easy though, like did the spiral levels really serve any purpose, they felt more like padding. Also, it's quite hard to tell the tiles apart (broken from super broken) at a glance.

The dash definitely helped make the game more interesting though.

loig 2020-04-20 18:12

Thanks everyone for your reviews and good feedbacks.

suchista 2020-04-20 20:47

I liked the statistcs after each level. Many of the puzzles were obvious, but there were some clever ones. One thing that bothered me were clearly too long levels, where you had to go for a long walk without a reason. Nice game!

graal 2020-04-20 21:10

Simple but finished game with all in place: music, graphics and sounds. Good luck!

svinichenko 2020-04-21 00:27

Yay!

matthewpoletin 2020-04-21 00:28

Whoooah!

thefoppian 2020-04-21 00:49

Very well paced puzzle game! It was fun the whole way through, if a little frustrating because of my inablility to solve puzzles :). Not much I'd change if I were you. Great job! I am now the most *XTreme* of gardeners!!

email 2020-04-21 01:25

Its a nice game. The start felt really slow as in the game only got interesting in level 8 and by having (3) so many tutorial levels essentially showing nothing new for every mechanic is kinda repetitive. Pacing in the start is a little off as you spend more time in the scoring screen as you do in the game itself. After a while the game spikes in difficulty and this is actually a pretty good contrast and it woke me up.

I loved the scream, I hated the music. I found it weird that moving from linked tile to a linked tile deactivated them.

I liked the game!

citdev-chris 2020-04-21 01:40

games like this encourage me to try making something with level design. i imagine introducing new concepts let's you make new stuff up as you go. well done!

loig 2020-04-21 09:11

@email Thanks for your constructive review! The idea that linked tile would fall only when going from a linked tile to a non-linked tile is in fact very good, it's a shame that I did not think about it during the jam. I think it would have made the linked tiles much more interesting and useful for level design.

Indeed there are a few long easy levels (as noticed by @suchista as well). My goal was to loose nobody, so each new notion is demonstrated on a very small level and then an easy larger one. But I agree that for a significant part of the players, this may be a bit too much.

Thanks to everybody else for your reviews. It's really nice to get feedbacks from players!

motley 2020-04-21 10:26

Really good puzzle game, like the bucket mechanic that if you're holding one the others block you, has a lot of potench

Although I get your point with "lose nobody" approach () I think that the long curly levels are unnecessary and are not crucial for introducing the mechanic (but oh god are they long, especially the one you need to go through twice, one misclick and you dead)

The "yay" and "again" sounds, my favourite

kjscott 2020-04-27 08:45

Resets:0, Deaths: 23, Floor breaks: 434, Steps: 572, Dashes: 122 - I finally won!

There were a lot more levels than I was expecting, the graphics and audio worked really well together and the sound of you falling to your death was funny. Some of the puzzles early on were maybe a little too easy but the intention very clearly led you down understanding and mastering all the mechanics before you continued so I salute the level design and very much think that it should be kept as-is.

yee!

I am quite satisfied of the results I got for a first try at Ludum Dare, with what is my first "complete" game.
