LD46 — Keep it alive

Sheepdog by ChatPion 2020-04-21T14:08:49Z

Great idea for a game with this theme! When brainstorming for a game I was thinking about herding as well but wasn't quite sure how to execute it, but I think this was a good way to do it!

the Isle by zillix 2020-04-21T03:43:55Z

The fire transitions and music made for a great atmosphere for the game!

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-20T05:04:25Z

Loved the graphics and the sound effects. The game was very consistent throughout!

Keep it Alive, Keep them Alive by jeremyfa 2020-04-20T13:18:38Z

Very clean design, I could definitely see this as a successful mobile puzzle game :) I think 8 levels was plenty for the time given and it gave a good taste of the game!

Meatball VS Gymzilla by davision 2020-04-22T14:47:55Z

Glad to see you guys released the game! I saw you were having a few issues over the weekend but it's good that you pushed through!

Fox! Hen! Bag! by 0x01F0 2020-04-22T15:22:29Z

Love the low poly models! Also I really like the concept that it's based off the classic riddle. Very unique and great submission overall :)

Its Alive! by automatonvx 2020-04-20T19:47:14Z

I actually had the same idea for a game! Glad to see I was not the only one :) It turned out really well for you!

The HeartBit by Lucas Ferrantelli 2020-04-22T14:50:54Z

This is a great platformer! The mechanics felt very well implemented.

Two things I think could be improved on is adding the controls/instructions inside the game, I know you have them in the post but it would be nice in there as well. Also I think the momentum could be decreased a little as it made some of the movements a little bit sluggish, unless that was the intention then never mind this :)

Protect the Caravan by Deamonus 2020-04-21T17:22:25Z

This was a very unique way to approach the theme! I think the visuals and the music fit really well together and made it feel like an arcade game. One thing I think could be improved on is the player movement, it didn't feel very much like an actual plane, maybe if it was constantly moving forward and you could steer it it might have been more fluid!

Pizza with a Pulse by slimabob 2020-04-20T03:28:19Z

Hilarious take on the theme!

don't dead it by drprettypatty 2020-04-20T04:54:50Z

I liked the music and art! Did you draw it on paper or with some kind of software? My one issue with it is that the direction was not very clear.

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-21T18:41:02Z

This is absolutely insane coming from just one person in Compo too! This would make for a really fun and successful mobile puzzle game I'm sure! This is the most polished game I've played so far!

The Last Primpy by gamesplusjames 2020-04-21T17:34:18Z

The controls, visuals, UI, and sounds all worked really well together and made for a fun experience! One thing that I didn't like as much was the cursor placement when you're going forward, it was right on the nose of the ship, I would have liked it a little higher. Another thing was the delay of the mouse movement to ship rotation was a little slow for my taste!

Dr. Noir by UnidayStudio 2020-04-21T00:07:21Z

The graphics are really well done and all the UI fits in as well!

Hold That Thought by 2kah 2020-04-20T13:26:21Z

Loved the audio, I could definitely see this as an IO game! Also you and I had a very similar take on the theme :)

Whalestrom by aevek 2020-04-21T18:50:55Z

The audio, visuals, and overall theme are really, really well done!

A few things that were off for me were the juxtaposition between the super high detail game assets vs the simplistic UI elements, I think upgrading the icons and the UI would bring it all together! It was also not very clear how to progress throughout the game, so maybe a bit more UI to show the player what to do!

Overall really well done submission :)

Oh also in your submission here it says Windows link, but inside there is a mac download as well, so make sure to say that so more people can enjoy this game!

The Blind Hummingbird by Webox 2020-04-20T13:44:21Z

Music and art was great! The game play was interesting as well, one thing I'd suggest is to increase the time on the first level and maybe make it more difficult later on? I spent a bit of time figuring out the game and it suddenly ended on me but I got it eventually!

DieDry by AAA 2020-04-21T03:46:23Z

The physics made for a very interesting game that made me want to keep playing! Really well done with the game play and rag doll!

A Tale of Freedom by sohakes 2020-04-21T17:45:03Z

The game play felt great and I loved all the models and animations! One thing I would have liked is to be able to skip the dialogue at the beginning. Having to listen to it again after you die can be a little annoying.

For the king! by OfirMa85 2020-04-20T04:49:17Z

Graphics and audio is amazing! Very consistent throughout, even on the download site. I laughed when he said "wow rude" when I skipped him... Sorry!

Spikey by Edmanbosch 2020-04-20T19:50:27Z

Very unique interpretation on the theme, and I think it was well executed! I have a few suggestions tho, one being that the rotation of the camera didn't feel natural. Also it was great that everything had noise, it added to the atmosphere but some of it was way louder than other!

Dear President, by Badosz 2020-04-20T21:37:59Z

Really well done graphics wise and game play wise! It felt really polished from start to end :)

Fussy Kitty by cjgammon 2020-04-20T14:48:33Z

Loved the UI and art! One thing I would suggest is to add the buttons inside the game somewhere and add some kind of feedback on button press.

Chaos & Order by scottgoldsmith 2020-04-20T05:17:00Z

Loved the music! I was having a little trouble with the interaction of my cards (or maybe I didn't understand them, I admit I skimmed a little)

Keep It Alive by Rakowu 2020-04-20T05:07:44Z

The link does indeed work now! Just in case @TomekS doesn't see the notification :) I loved the effects and music! It was a little confusing at first and I had to watch the video, so I'd suggest a how to play screen! But I'm sure you'd add that if there was more time!

Dungeon Feeds by PatrickRMC 2020-04-20T22:27:32Z

Great graphics and the game play felt polished! :)

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T18:34:47Z

Very well done graphics, music and dialogue! It created a great atmosphere. My only criticism is that the game play is kind of shallow, but the story makes up for it!. I've never been a fan of clicker type games tho, they hurt my wrist after a bit.

Last Days of the Empire by Arqcenick 2020-04-21T13:57:11Z

Loved the art style and the overall idea. Wish there was a bit more UI for each unit to detail how much each recruitment takes, and how their attack/defence works!

Monster Rumble by Jun-Seo 2020-04-22T04:03:38Z

So the game is runnable and I downloaded and tried it out and I have to say I love the art style and the music, it is very consistent (except for the UI). Only issue is I'm not sure how to play the game as there are no instructions. Could you edit your post and maybe give a quick description about what keys do what? I tried pressing so many and none of them seemed to do anything for me :) Thanks! I usually love TD games so a nice looking TD game would be right up my alley!

Come to Mama by Louis hayes greenwood 2020-04-20T21:13:26Z

Loved the music and game play. The game felt very polished, from the art work, to the fonts used, to the menus!

Theft of the Inferno Heart by MarkoPoloDev 2020-04-20T19:52:55Z

Great interpretation of the theme! The game play and attacking felt great. I think some sounds are too loud tho, maybe they need to be balanced out, and at one point the audio just glitched out! Thought I'd let you know :)

Thrive by bassguitarbill 2020-04-20T21:32:43Z

Loved the audio and the visuals! Would be nice to have the controls listed somewhere tho :)

HarbaVid19 by Zlabya 2020-04-20T21:07:11Z

The art style is amazing, and the meta take on the theme is hilarious! I found a texture/shader bug on the second level if you go up and to the left (on the web version), thought you should know!

Defend the Loot! by ArtemFTW 2020-04-20T04:33:10Z

Great audio overall! The graphics and game play felt very consistent and made a lot of sense. One very very small typo is on the main screen you say "Move around with WASP" instead of WASD, but you say WASD everywhere else :) Just thought you should know!

Run Robot Run! by Nikos 2020-04-20T04:37:54Z

The graphics and effects felt very polished! I thought the game was a little too hard at the beginning right as I was learning, but I think that's just a me thing :)

Clumsy Looter by Naghen 2020-04-20T21:19:21Z

Loved the sound and sprites! One small thing that I think you guys should fix is remove the duplicate EXE in the windows build. Not a big deal, it's just a little confusing at first

Panda Smash by rumor 2020-04-20T23:02:48Z

Loved the music and art! Also the idea is very unique haha

The Lonely Tree by Virtu 2020-04-21T19:01:43Z

The visuals and environment are amazing overall, from the grass moving, to the wind turbines in the distance, to the enemy bullets that light up the environment!

Some things that I didn't like as much was the slow aim down sight, it made it feel not very responsive. Another thing that I think could be improved on is the UI, having tree health, time alive, number of bullets would make for an easier to understand game. :)

Alive: the game by lchsk 2020-04-20T23:04:34Z

Loved the idea! I think the music was too loud and the controls were not intuitive tho!

Be Cool or Die by Asier 2020-04-20T14:54:44Z

Loved the graphics! Very consistent throughout :)

Pump It ! by JulienLussiez 2020-04-21T18:55:06Z

The art, music, and menus were really well done and were consistent throughout. One thing I'd like to see is make it a little more clear how to play the game and how it works. Also a few more levels would be fun as well!

Meal to Kill by spidamoo 2020-04-21T13:53:05Z

Loved the art and sound effects, made for a great atmosphere!

KEEP THE PARTY ALIVE BABY by Taximan981 2020-04-20T04:29:48Z

Animation and audio/voice acting was very cute and well done!

MMO Dungeon Healer: Quest of Valor by exewin 2020-04-20T14:56:34Z

Great take on the theme. Loved the art, as well as the player and guild names! :)

Life Of Sparky by Piranha 2020-04-20T21:16:36Z

I loved the music, and I thought the story/game play was hilarious! I thought the fire died a little too fast, but that's just a me thing

The Mad Piper by psychic_ash 2020-04-20T04:45:39Z

Really unique take on the TD games! Loved the graphics. I actually had a nightmare about babies last night so this is giving me some flashbacks :P

Treevenge by Kr4sh3 2020-04-20T04:59:42Z

Loved the art and the game play ideas, like how everything can hurt you and you can make a decision to either push the enemy away or fuel the fire!

In A Game Wherein by SSStormy 2020-04-20T14:52:19Z

Loved the meta take on the theme! At first the game seemed shallow but the story went a lot deeper after the first bit!

The Holy Sword by PastelGames 2020-04-20T21:11:10Z

Loved the art, and music, and the unique take on the theme/fighting games!

Chess Mess by Pavel Ivanov 2020-04-20T04:41:21Z

I think this is the best graphics I've seen so far! Absolutely love the graphics/models/effects/shaders, and a great take on the theme as well :)

A Case of the MOONDAYS by Dylan Pineo 2020-04-20T05:20:50Z

Love the visuals, music, and title! One thing I think that could be improved on is making the player movement a little more snappy and not as glidey, but that's just my oppinion!

Dragon Keep by Daxic 2020-04-20T21:28:36Z

Absolutely amazing visuals and music! Would be nice to have a way to sell/delete blocks tho, also a few more sound effects on collisions/building/spawning

Starship & Hull by Mastoast 2020-04-21T14:03:47Z

Really unique take on the theme and I think it worked out really well! Loved the game play and voice acting. I also really liked that there was a tutorial level to explain the game play and key binds :)

Babysitter by Tadeas Paule 2020-04-20T13:52:19Z

Great level progression with the change of mechanics!

My Pet Rock by GameGenesis 2020-04-20T14:43:57Z

The art, music, and vibe all created a great and consistent atmosphere!

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-21T19:32:02Z

This game was pretty fun, I like how the fish just dies if you don't listen to it...

Keep Vlad Alive by zimny11 2020-04-20T13:54:41Z

The music and art worked really well together! One thing that would have been nice is some instructions inside the game :)

Royal Decree by Furqaan 2020-04-21T04:20:52Z

The music worked really well with the theme! I also loved the art work and the game play. I liked the speed that the player moves at, often with these kind of games they move too slow and it can be a little annoying when the time is against you!

Keep the Fire Alive FINAL by Krebzor 2020-04-21T00:03:05Z

The graphics were absolutely on point! The music also fit in really well to bring it all together :)

Do not venture into the darkness by Sergio Gonzalez 2020-04-20T04:35:43Z

Loved the graphics, really brought the theme together

Keep Me Breathing by AstroLabe 2020-04-22T14:45:49Z

I really liked the art and the music! I also really appreciated the little tutorial at the beginning of the game. I think the game follows the scene very well and is very unique.

It also made me realize that I didn't know what color combination makes yellow, so thanks for teaching me that today :)

50 Shades of Pray by robstao 2020-04-21T00:05:22Z

@krebzor Thanks for the feedback! If you've been the web hosted version I think the issue you're talking about is the UI scaling, which was caused by an oversight on our part where we developed everything in 1920 x 1080. We will be pushing a fix out as soon as we have free time :) In the mean time I suggest trying out the mac/windows one, theres three times as many villagers that spawn and it adds to the madness!

Super Simp Boy by FudgeFiddle 2020-04-20T13:37:32Z

Loved the music and the game play, but I think the game went a little too quick and it ended as I was figuring things out on the first level. Had to replay to get further, but maybe that's a game design decision!

Xtreme gardening 2020 by Loig 2020-04-20T13:49:54Z

Music, audio, and level progression were very well done! I saw one typo that I think you might want to know about tho, in the part about the aging tile you say "live it again" in the third part but I think you meant "leave" :)

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T04:27:49Z

Awesome take on the theme! The game play was smooth but the camera movement was a little jarring. Maybe a smooth increase in speed as the spirit leaves the body?

Keep her alive! by Rirdeg 2020-04-20T14:41:05Z

Great music and art! One minor thing that I'd like to suggest is make the rolling enemies not have their HP roll with them, instead stay static while they roll, but it's a very small thing!

Last water temple. A VR Game, Added non-Vr version by mmadara1 2020-04-21T04:17:41Z

I don't have any kind of VR so I won't be able to play and rate it :(. But I wanted to say that the graphics look really good and it makes it seem like it's super polished!

Teddy? by HeylloPotato 2020-04-21T14:05:55Z

Haven't seen many horror games so far, but I think this worked well with the theme! It was very suspenseful :)

Keep, It['s] Alive by Mad Scientist Carl 2020-04-20T13:28:45Z

Loved the music! Also the double take on the word "keep" was great, I didn't even think of that!

Flower Defense by Evolving 2020-04-20T04:52:38Z

Love the art, very well done there! I wish there was a way to attack up/downwards tho!

Let's stick together by syo 2020-04-20T05:13:25Z

The graphics are very nice and this is a very unique puzzle game!

Project Ark by TechnoGoth 2020-04-22T03:55:41Z

@technogoth it is not too late to push out a fix! As per the rules you can push out bugs (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules under the section "Additional Notes for both the Jam and Compo ").

As for the game I think that this is a good approach on the theme, but a tutorial level would have been really helpful. :)

Night fire 🔥 by Glavak 2020-04-20T03:41:28Z

I loved the graphics! And the game play was very simple to understand

RobotPlay by Maddog 2020-04-21T17:27:37Z

The mechanics of the game felt really good and well thought out, which made for a smooth game play. A few things I'd recommend is adding a bit more in game UI to let the player know what they're doing, as well as a mini map.

Oh also one more thing. When you built the game you changed the name of the exe from 'GameJam' (The unity project name) to 'GameJam.exe'. This causes an error because the data folder will not match. The solution is to have the data and exe names match eg. 'RobotPlay.exe' and 'RobotPlay_Data'!

The Consequences of Gardening by JMad 2020-04-21T17:41:05Z

tcog.PNG

Small bug at the beginning where a white box was covering some of the objects and I couldn't read it.

Really cool way to approach the theme! Loved the graphics, animation, and audio, they all worked really well together. One thing I'd like to see is a little more UI to let the player know what they're doing, unless the player figuring it out is part of the mystery then this makes sense!

FEED by BlipBloop 2020-04-20T03:33:55Z

Absolutely loved the graphics and the controls! The game play felt polished :)

Ignis Morty by dahoon studios 2020-04-21T14:00:50Z

Great take on the theme! The UI, graphics, sound, and game play all work really well together to create a great atmosphere for the game!

Magician's Monster by NomadicRockMan 2020-04-20T19:55:58Z

The music, art, and overall setting of the game was great! One thing I think could be improved on is making the enemies stand out more, as well as the projectiles! :)

Don't Forget To Water! by Thor Lucas 2020-04-20T03:45:30Z

Great take on the theme, and the game felt nice and polished!

Dog Feeder by plantleaf 2020-04-21T18:43:36Z

Really innovative approach to a puzzle game! One thing that bothered me a little was the rotation using K and L, it seemed backwards to me, but other than that very interesting!

A Gleam In The Dark by Haro Games 2020-04-20T13:31:13Z

Great audio and take on the theme! One suggestion I have is to slow the enemy down and give the player some health points, the first time I encountered the enemy gave me an abrupt end.

Mothership by Wet_Band-Aid 2020-04-20T13:40:59Z

Loved the little intro scene, and the game play kept me hooked in for a bit after I figured out what to do :)

Healer by PisiTo 2020-04-20T21:24:07Z

Really unique take on the theme, wish I thought of it as well!

Crackles by Mumb0 2020-04-20T13:09:19Z

When this theme was announced I too thought of keeping a fire alive but wasn't 100% sure how to implement it, and I think this is a great way to do it! I love the vibe and lighting and the stats at the end screen as well :)

Dr... It's Alive! by ChrisEvry 2020-04-21T03:41:48Z

I don't have VR so I won't try it/rate it, but the music and models look very polished and set an interesting atmosphere! If I get a VR headset I'll make sure to check it out tho.

Keep Ye Alive by JoskerDu 2020-04-20T14:46:33Z

The art, music, and audio fit really well together. I liked the unique take on the theme as well, it's a very interesting concept!

Keep the Engine going by snip_man 2020-04-21T19:05:53Z

I think this is a good interpretation of the theme, however I think that the lack of UI and information given to the player is really holding it back. I was never quite sure what to do in the engine room and my buttons/clicks didn't seem to have any effect! I think with a bit more UI it would make it a lot easier for player!
