I don't have VR so I won't try it/rate it, but the music and models look very polished and set an interesting atmosphere! If I get a VR headset I'll make sure to check it out tho.

I also don't have VR, BUT! it looks pretty. Is there any way that you can make a non-VR build? thanks!

supergamersgames 2020-04-21 03:58

Dang, I really wish I had VR, on the other hand, that's disgusting I could bare to play it. *shivers*

gal-afik 2020-04-21 05:43

I'm gonna have to come back and play this later. It looks great!

chloeofarroyo 2020-04-21 09:38

Tried on HTC vive but the controls don't seem to work - clicking the thumbpad teleports you below the floor, and none of the other buttons do anything :(

Regardless, graphics are very pretty (in a disgusting way! ;) )

erikvdb 2020-04-21 11:20

I really like the overall atmosphere! Great sound design. I kept accidentally shoving the creature off the table due to collisions, but other than that I got it to work well on my Oculus Quest via Oculus Link.

@ioan-pop , @ldd , @supergamersgames I appreciate you guys taking a look! Unfortunately there is no way to make it playable without VR since all the mechanics are based around motion controls.

chrisevry 2020-04-21 11:58

@chloeofarroyo - thanks for letting me know, that's really unfortunate! I don't have a Vive to test on and I know the default "reset HMD" commands set up in UE4 can be a little tricky (I had to mess around with the Oculus one to get it to work right on OG Rift). I had set it up with the triggers to grab on Vive (since I've heard that is more comfortable on Vive controllers) and that should be the only buttons you need as long as it spawns you in the right location.

chrisevry 2020-04-21 12:04

@erikvdb haha, thanks! I had a lot of fun recording the creature noises XD I didn't think it was possible to knock the creature off the table until it was already dead!

I wasnt able to try it because I don't have VR, but I watched the video and looked AMAZING, graphics are great, the gameplay looks very nice, the atmosphere in general is phenomenal! very good job

jasonsumm1 2020-04-21 20:37

Great idea! really nice 3d art. good job :)

Hi! Nice work! I want to make a video with the best games of LDJam46. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOdTsWE7iIk . Can I find your game also on indiexpo website? The channel is linked with them.

bgamedev 2020-04-22 12:26

Really interesting and polished look.

spooky 2020-04-22 12:28

I don't have vr so I couldn't play however I can rate the graphics .... They are amazing if you are asking

stuckne1 2020-04-22 12:32

I don't have a VR head set either, but looks cool!

png 2020-04-22 12:48

i played the game via quest link, that worked well! very cool to see a VR entry. lighting and sound are atmospheric and the 3d assets are nice. :) there was no feedback for me when i tried to use the defbibrillator but i managed to feed meat until the meet sign became dark.

chrisevry 2020-04-22 12:55

@png thanks for playing! The defibrillator has to be held on the creature until the next bar of music starts. A cymbal will crash to let you know it worked. I wanted to cue that with like a rising, warmup sound but I ran out of time unfortunately.

shikamaru 2020-04-22 13:15

I don't have a vr set but it looks incredible

kor 2020-04-22 13:18

Hey, the inputs didnt seem to work with an index. The models / lighting and sound design are really nice though. Seems like your concept starting point was similiar to ours! Good work

mlkvr 2020-04-22 13:19

Wow outstanding graphics!

gamescodedogs 2020-04-22 15:15

Thank for the game :) Tried with Oculus Rift. Impressive visual design and the mood. So many assets and all of them suited to each other professionaly. I think it's not your first VR game because you made me feel being inside, I mean really, sense of presence. Additional Like for using Unreal Engine 4. Wish you the best of luck!

chrisevry 2020-04-22 15:15

@kor that's so frustrating about the Vive and Index controls not working, I had set up all the inputs for the different headsets but don't have them to test on. Thanks for checking it out anyway. And yes, we both seem to have a passion for the old b-movies!

epsulon 2020-04-22 15:25

Interesting Game Concept, well done!

overmolo 2020-04-22 15:55

Sorry, I didn't play but thanks for making a video. Oh god, what a disgusting creature! Are you sure we need to keep it alive? hahaha Nice and disturbing job!

chrisevry 2020-04-22 16:10

@gamescodedogs Thanks for playing it and your kind words! I've made a couple of small games for VR before and working on a bigger gothic horror project at the moment. Sense of presence is what I find really fascinating about VR so it definitely gets a lot of focus :)

chrisevry 2020-04-22 16:14

@overmolo I guess you're more of a cat or dog person than eldritch abomination person, haha. :) Thanks for checking the video out!

pineapple-po 2020-05-11 11:06

Dr. Frankenstein's first experiments?)) I wish I had VR. good graphics and sounds. that's all I can say right now))

chrisevry 2020-05-11 16:32

@pineapple-po Definitely a big influence! :)
