The art, music, and menus were really well done and were consistent throughout. One thing I'd like to see is make it a little more clear how to play the game and how it works. Also a few more levels would be fun as well!

curleyrach 2020-04-21 19:09

Simple game play but the whole thing has a really nice finish to it with the menu's, art, music and sounds. Good job :D

jondkoon 2020-04-21 23:58

Love the graphic style and music. Kind of expected there to be more puzzle mechanics than just trying to figure out which pump to hit.

Love the robot head coming off.

Neat concept and great execution!

wheybags 2020-04-22 00:00

Voxel art was really great, so was the sound. Gameplay was a little simplistic, and not well explained at first. Overall a nice little game :)

christianaufiero 2020-04-22 00:02

Please, for the love of all that is holy, make this a full game, I beg of you. My only critique is how short it is, only 5 puzzles for such a unique concept so well executed, like a mix of warioware and captain toad, it's brilliant, I just want more!

butzbo 2020-04-22 00:11

Pretty cool graphics! Simple but nicely executed, some clearer ingame instructions would have helped a bit. This has a nice 'mini-game' charm, maybe it could evolve into a mingame-fest featuring these neat robots!

magnanix 2020-04-22 00:20

Lost a few robots until I figured out what was going on! XD. Didn't realize it was a "select the correct pump", I thought at first it was: - Use all the pumps as fast as possible... nope.. - Use the pumps in a specific order... well, yes, but no...

XD figured it out and cleared the game. Nice work :).

gamedevkng 2020-04-22 00:21

Hahaha I really like the style of the game and the look of the little robot. The game has potential, the puzzle are quite fun ! Great work !

reid-willis 2020-04-22 00:22

Enjoyed the game, graphics were very nice looking. Loved the color scheme, I just wished the game was longer, and it would've been nice for there to be some other gameplay elements to mix things up, but overall a cute little game.

toppervideogames 2020-04-22 00:39

This is a really nice game! It is polished and has plenty of charm for the robot. It is very short, but what is here is done well! I always liked games that play with perspective, and having to use different angles to look at the right wire is clever. The arrows could be mapped to buttons on the keyboard to make it easier to play, but using the mouse for everything does add to the pressure of clicking it fast enough. Would be cool to see more levels that play around the perspective concept, such as only having top down and side views, to really try to understand the shapes of the wires. I would love to see more, great job!

@ioan-pop @curleyrach @jondkoon @wheybags @christianaufiero @butzbo @magnanix @gamedevkng @reid-willis @toppervideogames

Thanks a lot for playing the game and giving us some feedbacks. I agree with all you said : short and the instructions/game mechanics was not very clear at first sight. I decided to update the game in a new branch thanks to your feedbacks. I made the instructions clearer and added an higlight on the pump so you know where to click. It's simple but it feels a lot better, thanks! I also added a new level. I'll probably make more during the next weeks but now, it's time to rest :) Thanks again!

pagetb 2020-04-22 19:02

cool graphics, good job!

r3l0ad1 2020-04-22 19:06

Great game! i love the graphics and the overall gameplay! good work!

javasaurus 2020-04-22 19:08

Very nice concept, I liked the simple but stylish graphics, the music/audio was certainly fitting the game. However (I'm not sure if this was fixed in post jam already), but when the timer ran out there was nothing I could do and I had to force close the game. Other than that I really enjoyed it. One more thing, I would have liked it a bit better if the "wrong" option also followed the line and only had the head of the robot explode when it reached the end. Just a visual thing though !

Well done and thank you for the game.

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 19:13

@javasaurus : Thanks a lof for taking time to try the game ! I didn't hear about this bug so I probably didn't fix it haha. I will look at it tonight. I really like your idea about the wrong option. I also thought it was too direct. Thanks again!

anchry 2020-04-22 19:13

Graphics were quite pretty, transitions between levels were smooth and felt good and general feedback was solid. The gameplay however left a lot to be desired, and i simply failed to see any fun in it.

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 19:20

@anchry : Thanks for your feedback ! Yes, I agree, the gameplay is very basic. We didn't have much time to work on it because we lost a lot of time on things that didn't work. Looks like we did something that still didn't work haha. Our way to present the game is to say that it's a warioware-like so a very very light game experience. But it's the other way to say that we didn't have time to find something funnier. :) I hope the updates will improve the gameplay.

palsina 2020-04-22 19:36

Don't be hard on yourselves, the concept is simple but there is really good craftsmanship in here. I quite like it.

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 19:41

@palsina : Thanks, I really appreciate that !

boxedmeatrevolution 2020-04-22 21:41

Very polished! I think the idea of trying to visually untangle a bunch of different strings in a short period of time has a lot of potential, though this game is a bit short to realize it. I thought the graphics and animations were very nice, and enjoyed the levels that were available

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 21:45

@BoxedMeatRevolution : Thanks! Yes, maybe adding some sequences to realize to activate the pump would improve the gameplay, I don't know yet. I will think about. Thanks for your feedback!

johannimations 2020-04-22 22:11

Liked that the shape of the room was a robot head itself. Little bug if you keep replaying the counter doesn't start from 0 but keeps counting up. Especialy liked the sounddesign and I have to agree it was really polished, but gameplay wise there was little to do. Also I would have liked to actually have to keep the robot alive in the gameplay, instead of just pumping energy, as it would have fit the theme better. Playing it did just feel good with the accustic and visual feedback. But why could you turn the room around with the two arrows?

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 22:20

@johannimations : Thank you for your feedback. Sorry for the bug, I will fix it as soon as possible. Yes, we didn't have time to add more features, it's very basic at the moment but it will probably be improved during the month. I will add keyboard input, thanks again for your feedback!

garett-cooper 2020-04-22 23:04

Short and sweet, that was great. It was a really interesting idea for a puzzle game and executed quite well. It's the first game I've played so far that I wanted more of. Well done!

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 23:09

@garett-cooper : Thanks a lot! It gives me strength to improve the game during this month. The game mechanics is very simple but I have a lot of idea to improve it. I'm glad you enjoyed it at its very early stage.

proforce 2020-04-22 23:42

Amazing work! Everything was really well polished, and despite the simple mechanic of the game, the gameplay was great! I see you are going to keep working on the game, so I wish you the best in both your game making aspirations, and in life!

julienlussiez 2020-04-22 23:45

@proforce : Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed these 10 seconds of game. Yes I will try to work on it this month to improve the gameplay, I have a lot of ideas, now I need to find a lot of energy. Thanks for the wishings, I hope the best for you too!

savvu 2020-04-22 23:52

One of the greatest puzzle games and the ludum dare theme was executed pretty good! The 3D models are great as well, wish you good luck!

doctortm 2020-04-23 00:04

Took me a bout 2 levels to understand what's going on :) I thought I was supposed to fix the link or something. Over all, nice concept, unique. It was intense XD

My only issue was the sound, it was too loud, had to alt+tab and change decrease the volume to about 10% of the original. After that, the ticking really added to the intensity.

Great job!

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 00:18

@savvu : Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Did you try "Tiny Fragments" ? For me it's one on the greatest puzzle games of this ludum dare : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/tiny-fragments

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 00:20

@doctortm : Thanks for the feedback. Did you play the jam version or the "post-jam" version ? In the post-jam version, I had instructions but if it's not enough I need to make even more clear. I'll fix the sound in the next update, I'll probably add a sound controller. The 8-bit sounds often sounds very loud, I should have take this into account. Thanks again !

doctortm 2020-04-23 03:42

@julienlussiez I'm not sure which version. Yeah, a sound controller is something many jammers forget about unfortunately

appix 2020-04-23 14:26

I like the feeling of this game. The graphics and sound are nice.

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 15:06

@appix Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

qfrct 2020-04-23 15:39

I love that silly robot run cycle : ). And general graphics and sounds. Very coherent.

Voxels rocks!!!

And the gameplay is nice too, it made me think of ["GNOG"](https://store.steampowered.com/app/290510/GNOG/) a game with a similar idea, with puzzles in robot heads, but in more fun : ).

Controls: I first though that I could only use the right mouse click, and it changes really little perspective, so the game was really hard and frustrating.

With the arrows on the screen it's better, but it becomes really nice with the arrow keys of the PostJam version. You should perhaps disable the RMB (or allow RMB + mouse move right and left to "turn" the camera), and maybe the arrows on screen too, or make them closer.

Thanks for the improvement ^^

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 15:51

@qfrct Thanks, I was aiming something coherent with the art so I'm happy you noticed it.

Yes, I know Gnog, I didn't play it too much but I will to be inspired and improve the game because I recognize there is not much to do. It needs more stuff to interact with. Thanks again for the feedback.

lenny-rudeberg 2020-04-23 18:02

Wow! super impressive, very fun and easy to play. Also the intro theme song is amazing!

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 18:24

@lenny-rudeberg : Thanks ! We wanted something very simple, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the music, I made it with Deflemask, a 8-bit song tracker, to get this old-school vibe.

human-writes-code 2020-04-24 07:00

Great game. Very well presented. Beautiful colour palette, nice models and very well done simple animation. I wish there were more levels and that I could rotate the camera vertically, too, but that's all minor details. It's just a really great game!

madewink 2020-04-24 16:12

Really nice game ! I enjoyed playing the different levels. I will be sure to take a look at the post-jam improvements later ! :purple_heart:

julienlussiez 2020-04-24 17:21

@human-writes-code : Thank you very much! Yes, you're right for the camera and you're not the first one to tell me that so you give me motivation to redo the system. I found a smoother way to do it, without the arrows, just with the position of the mouse. Thanks!

julienlussiez 2020-04-24 17:22

@madewink : Thank you ! I will try to keep the updates going. I have already added a lot of stuff thanks to all the feedbacks.

aune 2020-04-24 20:36

Wow ! The gameplay worked a lot on me and I laughed a lot on the last levels. Congratulations! :) Simple and dreadfully efficient. The feedback of the propagation from the pomp to the heart was really important and I think if you have the time "one day" try to put it also on bad selection in order to explain "why it's the wrong answer" great job !

julienlussiez 2020-04-24 20:39

@aune I'm so glad you enjoyed it and it's a very good suggestion, I will try to find a way to show that. I would also like to change the text based on the actions of the player. Thank you!

inferture 2020-04-26 18:15

It was a fun and well polished game ^^ The aesthetic is consistent and the mechanic is simple and easy to grasp thanks to the easy first few levels and the animation of fluid getting into the robot :)

franklins-ghost 2020-04-27 15:45

The art in this is great and like how you've taken such a simple gameplay mechanic loop and made a game out of it. Would have been nice to have some instructions advising what is required at first until you get the hang of it.

julienlussiez 2020-04-27 16:17

@inferture : Thanks a lot ! I'm glad you liked it. I wanted to polish the art but I'm not done, I want to polish it more. :)

@franklins-ghost : Thanks for playing it. In the post-jam version I added instructions. You're right, it's far clearer for the player!

nolanfa 2020-04-28 11:35

I liked it a lot!

The white grid on the ground and the red sides of the robot's feet and the wall-bot's mouth, coupled with the inability to move too much to the side (and the timer!) make it just challenging enough to be hard (and kinda sneaky) but not frustrating (when I lost a robot I was thinking "Dang, I should have known, I'll be more careful next time!" instead of "No but the game is not clear enough, I should have won it's unfair!"). It was probably helped by the very clear feedback you get (with the tubes lighting yellow) at the end of the level. And the text is a very good addition. It's funny but a bit distracting, which makes it all the more enjoyable because you *want* to read the text because you're curious but you're acutely aware of the timer in the background.

The graphics are good, they feel clean and... soft? in a way? Because of the lighting.

It's a game I would play more levels of.

One addition that I think could be cool would be to change the timer's sound in the last five seconds, so you know it's almost finished (but you usually get enough time for each level, so maybe most people wouldn't even get to the last five seconds). The timers could probably be shorter too.

elio 2020-04-29 02:09

Wooow this game is nuts, i love the robots, the graphics, the gameplay, everything is awesome, great job :D! Please rate our game when you habe time https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/resquack thank you!

julienlussiez 2020-04-29 19:12

@nolanfa : Thanks a lot for this thorough feedback ! I'm glad you that you found no frustration in it because I try my best to make something pleasant and fun.

@elio: Thanks ! I'm going to try yours.

noamraz 2020-05-01 12:38

4799! cool game!! love it! took some time to understand the game but super cool!

eran-haas 2020-05-01 23:19

The art style is just fantastic! The color scheme really captures a certain retro aesthetic that I can not quit place Great job!

xeniaeo 2020-05-09 16:25

Love the animation and the graphic!! And also you really did a good job on making a seemly boring mechanic not boring! I also got confused about how to play the game at first, only saved three robots on my first attempt. Read the instruction again on my second attempt to realize how to play. Overall, it is fantastic job!

julienlussiez 2020-05-09 16:40

@xeniaeo : Thanks a lot! Yes, it's exactly that, at first I was stuck with this boring mechanics but with the narration it makes the experience more interesting! It's interesting that you didn't understand the goal when you played the game for the first time, maybe I should repeat the instructions during the first levels. Thanks again, I'm glad someone tried the new version.

ellian 2020-05-12 19:07

Man that's a very efficient and fun game! Just.. good; excellent humor, great visuals, fun everything, even as simple as the gameplay can be it's immediately made enjoyable in the bestest ways by the way everything is wrapped up. Fantastic!

Also I failed to save one of the robots and I feel bad...
