great audio i must say! but i found it difficult to controll. the idea is great, if you polish it up it has great potential!

great audio i must say! but i found it difficult to controll. the idea is great, if you polish it up it has great potential!
running out of space taken literaly i like that!!! 5 stars for theme
I really liked the horrifying mood of the game, which was pritty well suported by the audio, because it was much silence with a few creepy noises. But i got terribely confused by the controls, and the rules of the game weren't clear. But even if i didn't see how the game fits to the theme i liked it a lot for its creepy atmosphere
The set looks like a classic Legend of Zelda dungeon. I like that a lot. But i didn't have the feeling t of running out of space very much.
I love the innovative story and therefore i'll giveyou 4.5 in innovation. well done
That game is a lot of fun. I think i founda bug. If there is one of the brown balls in front of an level exit. they spawn until you cant reach it anymore. If that is not intended, i would fix it,since it is a dead end, but as a hole i liked it very much, especially the audio
I'll play this game tomorrow, but i think alreadythat i'll like it ;)
i don't know why, but i love this style of graphic design, even if it looks a bit like crapy programmer art ;D ienjoyed the experience as a hole.
An interesting game! i wouldn't have ever come up with such an idea for this theme, and i really like the audio track, is that self composed? it fits the game and its mood pritty well i think
i love the simplistic look, it shows how little is often more. And i liked the fast movement for fast paced gameplay. But i think it didn't fit the theme very well, because the wall is not of great importance. It felt more like about running out of time
There are many good ideas in this game, like the skateboard ramp, but i think they could be better used, if there weren't some issues with the controls, for example there was no consistence how high i flew with the scateboard ramp and these things made the game really difficult to play. But i liked it very much for its innovation. Its a pitty i couldn't vote on audio and graphics.
I gave you 4 stars for innovation because of the innovative graphics
its a pitty i couldn't rate audio
A bit like tetris, but new and fresh. It's nice and fun to play, but i had problems figuring out the rules and the colliders made problems once. Graphics and audio fitted the game, and the theme is well implemented.
unfortunetelly i couldn't unzip. maybe you couldmake it available for dropbox, that would be nice, buti've read the description and like the concept nevertheless
couldn't open the game on github.Tell me when fixed. I'd really liked to play and rateyour game
thank you very much thats nice!!!
sorry but i can only install via dropbox or play html5 like github. but don't bother. from what ive seen in the description i liked the game very much, so i gave you a good rating anyway;)
@jeremy-ryan are you now able to run my game? Please tell me
@saering thank you for this detailed feedback!!! You're right, my programming is awfull, so i didn't know how to avoid all of these bugs, without loosing to much time, so until the next ludum dareevent i will practice al lot. Are you sure you played all the levels? If you have one last health point and colide with the goal you fail, thats a bug, if you try again and try to in ith 2 health, then you will succeed. Sorry for all the errors. The later levels will be more interestng
@tgb20 thank you for all this feedback. Please understand that I am realy new to this all, so your comments are really helpful to someone like me. I think i fixed it now a second time, so please tell me if so or not. Sorry for waisting your time, I hope until the next ludum dare jam i will be betterin such things.
@saering i watch a lot of stuff from brackeys allready, but i will check out the other one definetely. Thanks for helping me out so much and the tips for improving.
@tgb20 Are you sure? I tried it myself and it led me to my new zip file with mono and crashhandler. thanks forthe feedback again, i look what i can do
@earnso no i don't think so. I have enough problems with windows and i don't even have downloaded the support for mac in unity. but i apreciate your interest in my game
@ben-penwell Thank youso much! I've learned much fromthe experience and it was worth the time just for all these feedbackcomments i get. That gives me a lot of motivation
@rangoiv do you know the reason, because i thought it as fixed, my friends could run it as a matter of fact. its only supported for windos
@superpokeunicorn thank you for feedback! i can tell you that i have composed the most awesome music from me so far, but i was to dumb to write the correct programm to implement it. so i took it out, but if anyone coud help me with that i would be pleased, you must understand my scripts are realy messy...
@joschi i'dlove to, i'll put it in dropbox as well and send you the links in the comments
@kaipi thank you!!!that wasn't actually intended, i thought it would be funny to have it set in space while also making the player run out of space to fly in between the rocks, so the motto is: running out of space in space
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cbeoup482fj26ud/AAAHd2dkpoHl40TJqAylmj1Wa?dl=0
@joschi here you go, thats the soundtrack
@joschi Yes i do. It was easier for me to compose music on the piano, since I'm horrible at composing with software.
@timbals Thank you, but i'm affraid, it's too late for that
@tgb20 @unfinished @inferture
Thank you all for this positiv and helpfull featback. I will participate next time and hope programming will be better. For implimenting the music it is to late now unfortunatelly, but i think next time will be better
@rayne Thanks a lot, just out of interest how did you find my game, because since it got placed down, nearly nobody found it anymore. I saw your game and it looks really nice, but since i have no time yet i will play and rate it this evening.
@sthor726 Thanks a lot!
@andrei9 Thanks a lot ;) !
Great game! I like the idea, itfits the theme very well. But i think it is a bit t difficult to play. I wasn't able to finish the first level. Maybe I'm just not good at it, but if you would make it a bit easier, i think it ouldbe a beautyfull game
I liked the visual style very much. But the UI design doesn't fit to the other visual style very much. I leked the game as a hole very much!!!
unfortunatelly one can not see much of the 3d graphics, because it is all shown from above. But the design of the differnet ships were great for variation and the variaty of different powerups was awesome, for it beiing a compogame
i found the artwork really nice and funny as a matter of fact, so i gave yougood ratings, especiallyin graphicsand mood and humor
doesn't work because i have no javascript
its a bit like tetris, fits the theme well and i had much fun playing it.
I got the same error as well. Check if the link is correct. Maybe the game isn't published yet? i don't know, but that was my problem
it still doesn't work. If i klick the link i get to the itch page where it sais "We couldn't find your page" i recommend fixing it quickly so people have still enough time to rate your game
now it works!!! don't bother i had the same problems and all the other participents where helping me as well, but you can thank me with playing my game ;)
wow great game. with one strong main machanic: saws. and i realy felt running outof space with all these saws, but maybe thefirst level is a liitle bit to tricky, and i would work more on the audio. but my audio is crapy compared to yours,so well done!
I really liked the bomb throw mechanic, that felt like in the first legend of zelda game. But i got the feeling the controls where to slow,to get somewhere you sometimes had to wait a bit. but over all i liked it.
Really nice game! Felt a bit like star fox. but these rings didn't give much feedback, so i didn't know what to do with them. and dying felt a bit glitchy sometimes, but great game anyways!!! really innovative!
All this money laying around, that you couldn't collect drove me crazy XD. But nice combat systhem, and well ballanced, chalenging, but not to difficult.
i really liked that game. but i think many people won't get as far as i did, because they don't understand that its like a 2d platformerwith 2d graphics. that was my problem at the begining. but as soon as you get the controlls it becomes adictive. ;) i would change the skybox though
from what i can see on the page, the game looks fun to me, but i think to make it only playable with a controller is a bad idea, because many people won't be able to play the game. Thatwas my problem. i have no controller.
nice audio and visuals, but the rocket is difficul to control
Really good game! i'd like to have some winning condition or a score counter or at least a possibility to get time in game. I always failed after 30 seconds that wasn't fun. But visually stunning. I love it. and the controls didn't always work perfectly. But overall a great entry!!!
Great tower defence game. Was always really exiting to watch the waves attack. Its very wwell ballanced, and fits the theme. But i would love to have a quit button in the game. I really enjoyedthe fitting audio and visual style. Gameplayy was really engaging and diversity. But i think tower defence is not a really inovativ genre, and frankly had the feeling that you didn't add much new into the mix.
I realy looked forward to trying out all of these items, but i couldn't pass the road without everybody panicing, so i never managed to do anything else then letting all people die by car accidents. But the Idea is great and i would love to see a bigger version of this with a better movement systhem and some explanation on how to play it propperly!
This game is oddly addictive! I played it for a long time and love the mechanics.Only thing: In later levels the mob of enemies bunnches up, what then makes them easy to avoid. The UI is ugly, but i like the variation in the graphics - (wonder how you had time for this) - and the levels ramp up the challange nicely. I saw how you streched it into fitting the theme, but the theme could have been hit more nicely. The audio is not overwhelming but better than nothing. And I would have chosen to do a next level screen, so you don't get confused after a level and don't have to head back into the main menu yourself. Overall a good entry i would say!
I now checked out your game too!!! Its much better than mine and fits the theme very well. The audio was nice, i think and it is visually apealing. Really liked your shop mechanic, that makes the game really fun and so fitting to the theme!! really enjoyed it for a long time!
What a pitty that it is a multiplayer game. I think that could reduce your chances a lot.
I really couldn't play it, because of the lag. It made it impossible to react and to even see what is going on on thee screen. But i think without that, from what i could tell, you created a really enjoyable experience for better PCs with that gameplay, audio and especially with this great visualstyle!
Way to many buttons! The control systhem could be simpler, I think. But iactually really lked the graphics! Feels very old style! Liked it. Butwhen i realized i had no money i didn't understand how to exit the shop
The confusing controls were, where the game failed a bit. I can see how it fits into the theme. The idea seemed quite promissing, but i think it would have been worth to work more on the controls. I liked the visuals and could see where you wanted to go with it. I enjoyed it though! Pitty i can't vote on graphics
Clever way to work around the theme XD. Graphics were the best part!
I loved to just drive around. It was realy fun to drive, explore the physics and to fly through the air. Also i love that you achieved that one aways lands upwards. It was like a playground where you just enjoy overdriving people. XD
The clicking didn't function somehow in the html version. Did anyone other than me have this problem too?
@cuppycat thank you very much. I wil try to fix it
@cuppycat , @sockyman thank you both really much. Could you please try again for me please?!
@maou thank you for your feedback. i know that the ballancing is awfull and its way to easy. but its my first really finishhed project and it functions. maybe ifi ballance it right it has potential
@gentel Thank you really much for this great round positive feedback. It helps me a lot. Its good to hear that you like it and i agree on all your points.
@gentel @lomna thank you both for the feedback. Im happy that this year i get feedback on my gamedesign rather than on my lack of programming skills. I agree to all of it. There was no time for ballancing frankly.
@pedro137br awww... thank you! Glad you liked it (and hope you left a nice voting XD) I didn't think think that people would find it fun to play because of the ballancing issues pointed out in earlier comments
I actually like the origami paper look of everything. And concerning the gameplay it is really fun to play. I Like that things burn in fire and the Pressure that comes from the moving fire. But i don't see how exactely it fits the theme. But great fun game. And there is a bug, the stones dont prevent me from going through them, so if i try i can walk out of bounds.
Thisgame is so funny!! XD I like the changing music, but when driving backwords i would have wished to rotate the other way around. And when driving downwards the controlls also must be mrrored. I didn't think it would be that difficult to don't kill anyone. I love it. The graphics are a bit miniamal but overall my favorite game so far! And i love that the controlsare so ridiculously difficult and stupid to control XD
Better calculate a 90° angle in wich to turn to, so you always drive into the right direction
I actually didn't like the audio. the controls were really floaty if you know what i mean. Liked the graphics though. But i didn't see the connection to the theme. Gameplay was actually really fun. Did play it quite a long time! Keep it up!
There is just a link to the source code and nothing to play the game
I didn't have any audio. I did like the main mechanic and for me it also had a bit of humor. Enjoyed the graphics and i played it actually quite a long time. But definetely make it more engaging and fun. In the systems of the game there has to be some more motivation.
Sorry to have worried you, I downloaded it once again and the audio worked. Probably it was my fault. Even if not much, it is good audio by the way ;)
I like that it is so true to the feeling of playing a nes game. It really looks like one, like the original legend of zelda or something, but unfortunelly i had no sound. I don't know ,if it was intentionally, but i actually found the strange jump mechanic funny and it let the game feel even older. It hitted the theme, but it wasn't really engaging and didn't hold me for long. But over all, the style, mood and graphiics got me to love it
i think its a pitty that i cant vote audio, i actually really enjoyedit, even if it was little. But the audio felt really stylish in 8 bit
The space in the game is to big tomake the search for heart engaging and fun. The zombies hurt you even from great distances and i actually couln#t find a heart. I likedthe stylish audio, but had problems with the controls. Graphics were good, and i se potential in this game, if the programming was a bit cleaner!!
@aret24 @thesnide @itsdanidre Did I accidentally participate? I am really sorry for missleading you all!
Again and again I don't understand the gameplay. A bit more explanation would help. This is a problem we all struggle with, because we ourselves have a clear view on the games idea, but from the outside it seems a bit peculiar. Love the artstyle though, isometric art is always good! The music could be a bit longer as the quick loop anoys me a bit over time. But it really is very moody and i overall i really like it. Thumbs up for the graphics. And it fits the theme perfectly. I always like exploring the many ideas peole come up with to interpret the theme. Edit: I gave it another go and this time it worked, now the gameplay is clear! Just didn't get the controls at the first time!
Ohhh I glitched through the floor, and also add invisible walls at the corners, because the player shouldn't be able to fall off there as well. I really like the idea and think it could be expanded upon. I would like to be able to switch between characters during play, or have them switch automatically after some time. And also it would be nice to have a base for each fruit, so you have to defend multiple bases. This game would benefit grately from some polish, may that be the already mentioned walls or just some music and some changes to the UI. But i found the idea to be one of the more innovative ones and it fitted the theme. Also gave some humor bonus for the soundeffects and the whole fruit thing XD Enjoyed playing this, keep making games, and best luck for your entry!
Really tricky! Complicated at first, but great balanced mechanics once you get it. Some more explanation would definetely help, i kept dying without knowing the exact reason. But this entry hit the theme on point, great fun idea for a full game i would say. There are so many possibilities to expand on what you already have. Don't know how people come up with these theme based ideas in such a short amount of time. ;)
I had to laugh att the description. Really funny and tricky gameplay. There is something, that i would call a bug, where the potato gets trapped inside of my arm, when i create a loop with it, so it can't escape. But great humor, theme fitting and overall a game that actually hooked me for quite some time!
Awesome idea! Was surprisingly funny, were the sounds randomly generated. Felt like every mode was availabe at one time or another. Visually really modern looking and polished. Your right its not really a game but fits the theme is fun sounds and looks good, i dont have any comlains! ;)
Wow, what a nice visual style this time! Really cool looking, will check it out soon after submitting myself
At the beginning i thought it was to difficult but after i got the hang of it it was actually pretty well balanced, i just wish the health bar would be visible at all times, because loosing always felt so sudden and unfair. But it catched me for quite some time. and the music fittedthe flow of the game well. It felt really satisfying to feed him a big load of food, and i really liked that the whole environment danced and bounced with the music
I didn't really understand what to do in the game very often, but i just enjoyed sliding around and admiring this beautiful handcrafted artstyle. It really showed the love that goes into these projects. Graphics Audio and Mood are of course top notch!
The Zombie plant kill mechanic reminded me of Super Mario Sunshine, really fun game and high quality music for such small amount of time!
Awesome western sound design. I laughed out loud at the wilhelm sream XD. I really liked this interpretation of the theme, but would have liked a more refined better executed version of the idea. But overall i'm always impressed at what people manage o create in this short amount of time! Congratulations and good Luck!
Maybe a bit to overwhelming at first everything you have to do but like that gameplay idea andinterpretation of the theme. Maybe framerate was a bit to low and character a bit to quick in that regard, but the dancing animation of the surrounding people kept me smiling ;)
Great Game nice idea, and really atmospheric. I think the mechanics are really polished and i expected it to have more bugs, but everything worked great and intuitiv. It was really fun figuring out what to do and i never felt helpless. The visualls fitted relly well and i would like to see this idea being explored further. I would tweak the visual look of the water so it feels more satisfying to see it flowwing. I guess i see a little bit how it fits the theme, but i would consider this really innovative. It somehow reminded me of another game called The Talos Principle. Last thing i would do, is to give your game more puzzle elements, so you have to think a bit more and it becoes less repetitive. But overall one of my favourites this year. Edit: And i loved the atmosoheric animations of the wind blowing through the grass and trees
Shouldn't have playedthis before going to bed XD, really great game. My winner for mood so far, such a creepy eperiance and his look and the music and what he says it all just felt so scary, just didn't get the theme connection. Could have been a great VR experience. What a pitty that i can't rate audio
Unfortunatelly i had problems with the framerate, I think you could have done something with the performance, maybe an options menu. Because mixed with my high mouse sensitivity it made the game hardly playable. But I'm impressed by the procedually generated world and really had fun exploring things and there was quite enough stuff to explore for a long time. I don't see how it fits the theme, but I think you really did a great job on the audio. The sound from the cube did almost sound like music in my ears, like in zelda oots inside deku tree theme. And OMG the visuals! Great job in those to0!
Sorry but thats too high for my technological ability XD Don't even know what you're speaking of. All i know is that I played your game on a shity small old lenovo laptop, so maybe the performance problems where on my account. I must have overseen the performance options.
Hope I could help a little bit.
@steve-sparkes Thank you so much for the feedback. The idea with the baton is really good! I have to admit, that gameplay could be more interesting. But i really do see potential in your idea. I really concentrated on the music, as i'm a musician myself and wanted it to stand out.
@yodog Your right, but I'm kind of new to game development and never managed tomake other builds, i'll try again though and am going to inform you as soon as it works, would be glad if you could check then, if it all works.
@noel-widmer I am aware of all these flaws but as it is so often the case in game jams you don't always have the time to fix it. Indeed i did the music all by myself and put a lot of effort into it, as thats my main strength, and that took a lot of time as well.
@aphid98 XD glad you liked it. It definetely needs some more balancing
@noel-widmer of course, you're right, Thanks for the feedback! And good luck with your own entry!
@awelotta Yeah the music is all done by myself, im pretty proud of it, i think it's the central reason for the game to exist. Thanks for the feedback!
@fupi You're absolutelly right, i did the the isometric thing just for visual apeal. The gameplay suffers extremely from that. But only out of interest: how did you find my game, because i'm so worried about not getting enough votings, as i can't find myself on the page with listed games
@thedestoryer XD I don't know. It just seemed fitting and he looks a bit like John Williams. Its the image that comes to my mind when thinking of conductors. Thanks for the feedback. Music was very important to me
@zebraatomica thanks for your detailed review and ideas. Warming to hear. And the blog post helped me stop worrying so much about ratings. Infact it made some people visit my game!
@trexxak thank you so much! The balls originally were twice the size. I changed it for the challange because other than the tricky physics my game hadn't much gameplay to offer
@robotsandmuffins did you play another round? Because there is an issue with replaying, where not enough balls spawn so its impossible to win. Did you have this problem as well?
@notan-lemon thank you so much for your feedback! This community is great.
Funny Idea, had quite a good time following the dumb baby, liked the graphics when batteling, the pokemon style turnbased gameplay was really well executed. I might have given more time on graphics especially UI elements, but the music was great too. I think its innovative mixing turnbased battles with rouge like dungeon crawlers! I didn't understand the conection to the theme though
Liked that the shape of the room was a robot head itself. Little bug if you keep replaying the counter doesn't start from 0 but keeps counting up. Especialy liked the sounddesign and I have to agree it was really polished, but gameplay wise there was little to do. Also I would have liked to actually have to keep the robot alive in the gameplay, instead of just pumping energy, as it would have fit the theme better. Playing it did just feel good with the accustic and visual feedback. But why could you turn the room around with the two arrows?
Great mechanic for the theme! But indeed a bit boring. I think the well crafted mechanic would have benefited from more plants and more variety, but i think thats obvious. It has a great calming mood and gives peace, until the plants all die :P
A bit to difficult for me XD But great game especially visually, great fun and good theme interpretation. Exiting the game didn't really work in the browser. But i love this game. Maybe a difficulty option would help me to not die all the time XD Really polished and great animation. This game is perfect as small and round as it is!
Nice interpretation of the theme, i think the most clever one i have seen so far!
XD Humor 5 just for that loading screen lol. And innovative use of a loading screen too, to get all the important information outbefore the game starts instead of boring everyone out with information during the play, but in my browser the game indeed froze at the loading screen unfortunately. Ohhh ok it loaded finally. Funniest game so far love the audio, the musi reminded me of shaun he sheep. Good artwork good smooth gameplay overall just a round thing well done!
Really loved that mechanic. Finally something fresh and innovativ. For my taste a bit to obvious interpretation of the theme, but liked the juice and gamefeel and the feedback for hitting an enemy. Really tricky game, the more i played the more fun i had figuring out how to control properly. I liked it
You have to rate more games! And a title image or screenshot could also help people find your game, i was worried as well, but do this and it will work! The game felt a bit cryptic, if you played it for the first time, because i didn't understand what i have to keep alive and what i was suposed to do. It could help to give a little more visua feedback about what is happening. Also I would add sound. Some minimal music and a view soundeffects and the game feels much more alive. I liked the visuals, especially the tree. I have to agree with the other, that its dificult to control, wasd would be beter, but that all aside, its a finished product and for a while its really fun to play! Well done, keep making games, keep submitting to ludum dare and good luck!
Man, this game is the pinnacle of programmer art XD. For next jams I would concentrate on that, especially the UI. Your PlayerController is a bit clumsy. I did the same on my second entry, but changed it eventually, it makes the Tank unnecessarily complicated to control. But other tthan that I like the idea of the giant egg in the middle and the game fits the theme really nicely.
Its a pitty, that you decided to make a VR game, as nearly nobody has the option to play it. It will be difficult to get enough ratings. I won't rate it as it would be unfair to give a rating without having played it. But feel free to inform me, if you publish a normally playable version. But i must say, from what i have seen thegraphics are awesome. They kind of remind me of early 3d graphics, ps1 fore example. And I'm shure that you'll score in innovation!
Liked the labyrinth, it was thought out really well. Somehow the sound lagged often. that was anoying after some time. But had some really intense moments regarding the time and the visual style was simplistic but apealing!
Somehow even if i taged show tutorial nothing changed, hoped that could help me understand the game better :P But after a few rounds i got the idea. But for me it seemed impossible to get any new potions from that desk. I did like the special effects like the portal and he lighting, but i think just a little bit more time would have helped to better present the idea and remove some of the buggy issues i had while playing
Is that the triforce symbol?
nice and simple platformer! Some audio could have made it twice the fun. The trickiness was well ballanced so I had fun the whole time, but i think a energy meter is essencial, because you never knew how much is left before you die and if you can risk another jump. The idea could be expanded upon, for example a puzzle platfrmer, where you have to figure out where to jump next to not run out of energy
I somehow couldn't do anything in this games, no input did anything to the screen. But man, Audio was Top Notch! Horribly scarry atmosphere. Really intense mood, and his voice sounded like the voice overs on the surreal entertainment channel on youtube. It fitted the theme i guess, but i must admit this is lacking of content. Somehow i also found the game humorous in some strange way XD!
I played this game the longest. Had really great gameplay that emphasized the theme. Liked the polished UI and the amount of content that you managed to put in, there were so many things to explore and surprises like that destroying a power engine drops guns. Liked all that content, great job! But you have to rate and coment on other games! Else nobody will find your game to rate, and then you can't get a score in the end
Some control explanation or a tutorial would help me understand the controls. Like i understood that it was WASD and arrows, thats very intuitive, but I didn't get how to direct my shooting and that i could hold down and how to get health/ energy. That being said I loved how the controls worked really much. Epsecially details like the juicy screenshake, or that you kept some drift inertia after leaving the key. Maybe i didn't understand the game well enough, but i found it really difficult to survive for a long time, as the energgy drained so quickly. And was there audio? If so i couldn't hear any. You really did a great job with the controls and the overall polish. The visual style was very pleasing to look at and innovative with the pink shade for the background space. Would have loved to play longer, if i'd only manage to survive longer XD Nice entry
Edit: And also, had some performance issues. Don't know if you heard of this, but if you make movement and enemies dependant on deltatime, they will move at the same speed, regardless of on what device you play and how good that device is
I found the rope swinging very well executed and definetely a mechanic worth expanding upon. But at times the game behaved really buggy, for example I once got stuck in the wall deep on the right side, out of visible sight, and sometimes I clipped into the wall for no reason. And it was difficult not to die with only one life, but maybe that was intended difficulty. Great idea and cool aspects, but often I didn't know what exactely I was supposed to do and what exactely the point of the rocks for example was. And one more small thing. As I died so often, i found it a bit anoying to always start at the start menu instead just simply in a new round of the game. But visualy pleasing and the control systhem in many points very polished!
Wow! To be honest, I didn't expect such a "high concept gamemechanic" type of game from you. It's so different to what you usually do, with moody graphics and lots of atmosphere and lore. But I like that, I think that's what games should be about. A strong adcictive mechanic that then gets expanded. For me the first entry, where I can see myself playing endlessly. Maybe thats the Tetris effect. Thats a 5 star for fun! But I must say at the beginning I was confused for quite a while, and it took me so long to understand the simple idea of placement, that I nearly gave up before even playing properly. A better explanation at the start of the game would help. But wow, innovative, something completely new I never played before. Really exceded my expectations in that regard. Awesome entry!
Cool game and nice visual style. I think some modules didn't work properly, because I could already use them before I even bought them. This game could do with some more audio, maybe some music, and some different and more varying sounds, as they got anoying after a while. I think the shop was a really good idea, because it made the game addictive, especially for a comletionist like me. And I also liked the way I could coordinate the crew and the tasks. I would have found it cool, if I better understood, which fish I can get rid of how, maybe with some color- or symbolsigns, that indicate which attack belongs to which fish. But really great job!
Wow whats going on. So many great games this time. I know you already have enough comments, but here's my opinion: I found the control idea genious and very innovative although frustrating at times. But the game was visualy pleasing, very polishedand also had great humor. I think the rotating sword movement overshadowes the theme a little bit. Overall great game and really fun and easy to play, but at some points to difficult for my skills. Loved it, keep it up. I'd like to see more stuff like that from you!
Played the whole thing through. When I first died, I thought I'd have to start over, but the fact that you start at the last safe point was a nice detail. And a clever one too, as it kept players engaged, instead of discouring to the point of leaving. I would've liked a bit more variety in the gameplay, instead of only talking to the mibs and flying. But I understand the limits of a gamejam. I was really invested in the game because of the cute and well thought out lore and also found it quite clever, how story and gameplay progressed simultaneously like in one of those good old snes games. It also fitted the theme pretty well of course and for such a limited amount of time it actually was enough content. I didn't have problems with the loading stations and thought, everything got explained quite well and dynamic. I wanted to say dope music, but found out that that wasn't from you. I wished, you had done something yourself, because I'd always prefer some crapy music over something non personal in a gamejam. Maybe one thing I'd change would be the amount of text as it disrupted the gameplay and reading is always boring. Show don't tell, you know. Difficulty was balanced and challenging and also nice touch with the second meter for breathing outside the ship, although maybe a bit unnecesarry, don't you think? Maybe that could also have been expanded upon. But as you realise i don't have that much negative to say, so over all solid entry!
Don't know why, i seem to be the only one with this problem, but i couldn't open the game properly. A pitty as i would have wanted to rate it. Is the problem on my side or can you maybe fix it somehow? Really no idea what happened :(
Edit: maybe i should mention, that my computer is filled to the brim with stuff and i litteraly only have 50 MB storage space left. Maybe that could be the problem
What a fun concept, and perfectly hitting the theme. Would love to see VR support for that one. The controls often felt a bit buggy, for example hitting the spikes killed all your velocity. And I would dial down on the mouse sensitivity. Really advanced stuff compared to what I tested so far. Am I right in asuming the endless level was procedurally generated? Impressive. Fun and easy gameplay with the scoring systhem, only I wished ways to loose health more quickly, and also ways to regain more health, so the experience can truly be endless!
Why did this only receive 4 ratings so far? You have to rate more games!
Only thing: when you open the link you have to rescale your screen. Don't know how to fix this issue, but its seems to be really common on this site.
Your game is great! It was so much fun and digging down was really satisfying. It feels really finished and whole. I think this idea is original enough to build a whole game around it. I especially can imagine it as a mobile game application. The format and the simple controls would fit. I got a chill vibe from the game and it was really relaxing. This was only further supported by the matching graphic art style and the audio. The audio and style fitted together really nicely. Why can i not vote on audio?
Great entry and really fun to play, although a bit to monotonous after a while at the moment. Some more features could help!
Oh dear god. At some point I just drowned in green balls. XD Also, maybe thats only a problem with my computer, but i think the amount of balls were to much for my pc to handle, and some of them didn't make damage as they hit me, and sometimes it lagged and the frame rate dropped completely, but I like the visual background effect. It is subtle, but it must have been difficult to make. I wish you'd deal more with the theme, especially gameplay wise. But this game really reminded me of these classic top down shooters and I had a blast playing it!
I have to say: very original idea. Also the background was visually pleasing and fitted the theme. But i had some issues while playing: First of all I had to zoom out my google window by about 50% to see what actually was going on, then on my first two tries I didn't have any audio and on the third try it was there all of a sudden. I don't want to repeat all the other comments above, but just so you know: I also found the dead ends of each storyline a bit confusing and would have found it more comfortable, if I could go to the main menu again, instead of restarting the game each time. Aside from these (i think still easily fixable) issues, i had a fun experience and think this idea could be expanded upon in many ways. Maybe really a collection of several mini games, or just more and longer branching paths that mess with the player. I found that aspect really amusing. Fun idea, and unfortunatelly only almost good enough execution!
Keep it up :D
@milano23 thank you for your kind words. Actually the projectiles were meant to be cannon balls. Maybe I removed to many of them in an attempt to raise the difficulty.
@yusovv thanks for the tipp! I added Itch.io. I was to lazy before and didn't know it would make a difference!
@evil-villain-games oh great idea, i didn't think of that
@strangeryann Thank you very much for your kind feedback! Originally the idea was to make the player rescue people, but you know how it is with the deadline and all. That also killed the win state. But really solid ideas. The hight meter is a common suggestion and I really like it, it just didn't get to me during the jam. But really great feedback, thanks!
Yeah , that was supposed to become the ending. Thanks for pointing out the other problems, but unfortunatelly i didn‘t have time anymore to fix any of the issues
@binaryprinciple thank you! As a matter of fact the price didn‘t get implemented because time ran out. But i like your attack and defence idea very much
I didn't understand the rotating function and also when and why a grey square apeared. But the gameplay was fun and I loved the juicy controls. The way you exploded to each side felt really responcive and also how you always slowed down a little bit at each explosion so you had time to know where to shoot next. It took a bit long to start and i couldn't change the size of the windowframe, so sometimes I didn't see far enough to the bottom, and realized to late, that I got in trouble. An overall bigger view could help. But really funny idea and strong mainmechanic. Thumbs up!
Wow, I had a blast playing this. I highly suggest to map the controls differently. Why not jump space and using axe with a mouse? Or at least Buttons that are closer to each other. And maybe make the music longer and add some health option but thats all I have for improvement. Its already great! I loved how after some time I got the grip of the controls and felt like a Masterknight raiding this dungeon. And the klinging to wall mechanic was perfectly executed. And also nice, that you spawn near your death spot, thats a good trick for gamejams to keep the impatient players engaged. A pitty i couldn't use the money, because I didn't have any motivation to collect the treasure.
Really athmospheric, that game. With all the lofi beats in the background and the nicely chosen pink colors and stuff. Made me feel all warm annd blooming inside. At some points it actually got me laughing! Really can't say much bad about this entry, except maybe, that it was boring to read so much text, and thats not my cup of tea when it comes to gaming, so a gameplay aspect would have been nice, for example i couldn't go left, up or down, so adding that could give it an explorational aspect. Aside from that really cute, sweet and fluffy entry and also quite polished. I haven't found a single bug, respect! ;)
lol did I hear fairy fountain from legend of zelda at the start? XD The music is a real banger to say the least. I liked the sound design in general. I would have searched for a smarter solution for the boundaries. For example you can see the skybox in the background if you go far enough on the right. Maybe it would look better if you were surrounded by houses. But don't worry, i struggled ith the same problem. I had some performance issues, but that could very well be my own computers fault. The gameplay was clever in its simplicity and the difficulty was ballanced enough. I tend to find most games difficult so most entries are just to difficult for me. I would've liked to be able to reload health, that would also help with the difficulty. This game would have worked also quite well with the parasite theme. I would say keep up the great audio and maybe work a little on the visual look of your game next time around! Liked this one for sure, really fun and simple!
The controls were to slow for my taste and the game was to easy. Speeding it all up could make the game more exciting and also a bit more difficult. Some music could also help and just more difficult levels or maybe add some enemies. But in its current state the game is really basic and can be expanded upon in many directions. I think your main focus should be the gameplay aspect. So always ask yourself the question: What could I add or change to make the game more fun?
I liked the bubble effects in the background and the slight tilt down, so you had a better view of whats coming at you. Keep it up! ;)
Oh yeah I think as its an endless runner type of game speeding up over time would fit really well!
wow! This surpirsed me. One of the few entries I played to the very end. Had wished there'd be at least a small text or menu or anything to confirm to me that I was at the end. But really atmospheric, juicy, responsive controls. I liked the one live per screen principle (kind of inspired from super meat boy, wasn't it?) and the minecrafty music. No bugs, no gameplay issues just a simple funny puzzle platformer. But SO MANY components! How did you manage to get that all done in one weekend. Seriously one of my favourite entry so far. Especially the controlls were fine tuned to the last milimeter of a jump.
XD XD XD, hillarious!!! I couldn't stop laughing. And great music. A pitty i can't give more then 5 on humour. I know the waiting time between rounds is for comedic timing, but sometimes it was starting to bore me, maybe make gameplay more interesting?. The waiting reminded me of this neon genesis evangelion scene XD. Really loved it. Wish you best of luck for winning the humor cathegory!
What? Is this really a public high score display?? Wow respect for that. And also cool gamemechanic. I would've found it a little cooler, to activate the beam with space or something, or maybe reload the health/ energy meter over time if not used, so the game doesn't finish that quickly. I found it really atmospheric and scary with the sunken ships in the background and the loud whale sounds. And really much content with the highscore list, and upgrade thingy. I liked it!
Couldn't quit the game anywhere. Also the music gave me some weird Stereopan at the start on my headphones, wasn't very pleasant.
But genious game! It's addictive like Minecraft. In fact its a really cool 2d minecraft clone. It was difficult at first, but boy, when the achievement systhem kicked in, the progress felt really rewarding. I have to say, the progression systhem was genious. After a while it felt like an enchanted diamond pickaxe. And the ore spawn rate and overall difficulty was super ballanced. Its not the first game of its kind, regarding the take on the theme. But it sure is the best one I've played so far! Really solid entry. Thank you for so much FUN!!!
Wow! Really clever puzzle game. Hooked me unitl the end. Also so many levels. I also liked how you managed to add lore to the always deeper going rooms and the rubish they're littered with. Really well designed levels and a pleasing art style. The music was a bit to short for my taste, so after a while (and it took a while to solve all these genious puzzles) it got somewhat anoying. But this is a really polished completed and well coded entry, i really liked it!
A few things:
Don't know if thats only my pc, but the game starrted to lag pretty quickly, maybe you could do an optimized version, for lower technical standarts.
Apart from that I really liked it. The difficulty was way to hard, at least for me, I could hardly manage to get all the ingredients in time. Especially at the beginning, because I didn't get the controls. More explanation would help.
Also: I would have loved to be able to dig to the left and right in mid-air and not only when grounded, because to always pick up ingredients from above took time and made the game much harder. Else the UFO controls were great.
But really like the concept and fits the theme on the point, and could imagine a larger game with more ingredients, bigger terrain and some other mechanics.
What also could lower the difficulty would be to remove the topping component. Its a nice toouch and it was fun to put on the ingredients after collecting them. But it really took more time then necessary and i think the game could do with a simpler method as well. If you want to keep it maybe increase the pizza order time.
But these are all small changes and the game right now is already really fun and complex for such a small amount of time. I invested quite some time in this one!
Wow I loved this!!! But i have a lot to say:
- I loved the shop: It had so many options and cool items and worked perfectly, and finding money was really rewarding and valueble, because you knew you can spend it wisely. And also clever how the prices raised with each purchase. - I liked the controls: Gameplaywise it reminded me of downwell but also i had to think of how swimming felt pritty much exactelly like in minecraft. Maybe you could say it was a little boring and slow, but overall i think that only added to the difficulty and made the player plan how to handle the resources for breathing. Also I liked how exploring did not just get rewarded with treasure but also with pockets of air to make a pause. - I think audio could have really improved this entry and the lack of it made the game unfortunatelly more boring to play - sometimes there was a graphic issue where the blue water in the background started to flicker. - also often the fish just despawned for no reason and some i couldn't even kill - and wow was this really generated or did you design levels, because if this was randomly generated, than respect to you! Boy, this really does have potential! - i always don't like in jam games, when there are ways to loose health, but none to replenish it. Maybe i just didn't find the item, like, i know you can buy a new slot in the shop, but that gets really expencieve after a while and a lost life can't be refilled that way. - treasure was rare, i propose you give the player some money for maybe each 10 new meters they dive, that adds some goal to the diving mechanic, or if you kill fish. - a nice touch is broken records get noticed and apreciated. That must have been awfully difficult to implement for such a small detail
Conclusion: Even if it isn't perfect, absolutely polished or finished by any means, this easily was my favourite game so far in this jam. I spend an hour playing this! Hats off to you my friend! ;D
yeah i found it a bit frustrating to start over after drowning, but it also made me play carefully and added tension. I know many people just comment nice things on this site, but i really do mean what i wrote. You should keep working on this in my opinion, even if it's just for the small fixes you mentioned. I'd even go so far as to say, it'd be worth the time expanding upon, what you've already got. At that pace it's maybe one month away from being a small, but whole and finished, sellable product. Just my opinion, you must decide yourself. Anyway thanks for your contribution, i really had a lot of fun!
Edit: oh and i forgot one more thing: diving up to the shop after collecting money was cool, as i always looked forward to getting what i wanted to buy for a long time, but i think "Downwell"s way of handling shops would fit better. The idea would be to generate shops in caves(maybe at places with airpockets), so you can take a breath for a moment and spend all your collected money.
A solid entry. Just out of interest: is it endless and looping o did i just not play long enough? Because if it has an end I would give it another go. Odly i found the controls to be somehow really juicy and with how the shots flew and with the floaty jump. I'd tweak that a little bit so you can't fly basically through a whole level in one go. Also I found out that by holding the click button I could use the weapon as a machine gun. Was that intended? Because I found, i could cheese the game with that and make it very easy. But as that way of shooting is really fun I would give the player some reload periode or a limited amount of ammo with some type of refill option to make the game a bit more difficult. But overall a good, fun little game for the evening. Thank you for that! Edit: Oh and also epic music, a bit short though :)
"Run masterpiece" XD. The humour got me from the beginning as soon as i discovered the thumbnail. But unfortunatelly not exactelly the sort of game I expected from the thumbnail. One (I think quickly fixable) thing would be to add some sort of boundaries at the beginning, because I just flew away out of my own sight and into the endless void of a unity skybox. Not so pretty to look at to be honest. But fortunatelly there was that quick restart option. Funny little physics challenge filled with humour, but I wished a bit more content. Omg, what was that terrifying sound earrape when you died Haha. yeah also the controls could have been tweaked more and there were weird difficult edges that always destroyed me :(
