This is a pretty creative idea. combining a match 3 game with a platformer is pretty clever and leads to some fun gameplay. I really like how hectic the game can get as the boxes just keep piling on. It just goes to show how a few simple rules can come together to make something really enjoyable. The visuals are also well done, and I like the cute robot guy. The music is pretty groovy and adds to mood of the game. Overall, this is a simple, yet effective game. Nice work!

very fun game and i liked the game when you thorw the box

Really fun take on tetris! Love the pixel art. Controls were a little tricky but that just might be my problem. Great game!

I really liked it. I came up with few ideas though. When you get a wall of boxes you can't do anything with those, so maybe it would help if you could grab the boxes from their sides, not just from above. I would like to have more space, so I can play more, and get more than 54 points, and also a little bit fewer boxes would help with that too, I understand it needs to escalate, but not this quickly! I mean there are 3 boxes on the ground and while I grab a blue box and try to toss it to the other side suddenly seven other boxes are upon me and of course they ruin my sorting system. Music and graphich wise it was totally fine, although the font didn't fit, if that would be more pixel art-ish that would help. Maybe I enjoy too much how cruel that poor robot dies.

Very funny game. Some kind of Color Tetris and Stacker games.

The game feels GREAT to play--the physics and controls were on point. I think the difficulty ramped up a bit too quickly, but after I got the hang of it I managed to score 123. You should keep making this game, and maybe add levels that need to be cleared in addition to the endless mode you have right now.

Did you write the song? The music was great.

Wow, this game is awesome! Satisfying movement, great music, SFX and art/animation, and innovative, enjoyable gameplay.

Things did get awkward when I was carrying a box and wanted to set it down. The only option is to throw it, which is not very precise. Perhaps an option to set the box down where the robot is standing, teleporting him on top of it, would have made the gameplay a little less frustrating.

I really enjoyed playing your game. It's incredible that you managed to do it all yourself in less than 2 days. Just needs a better title :)

@superpokeunicorn @otmani-yacer @andrey-ugolnik & Everyone, Thanks for feedback!

@mark-usmiani Controls were pretty intuitive to me. Was it the mouse and keyboard? Or lift and throw being 1 input?

@balka Yeah the walls on the sides are a problem. I had some ideas on how to fix it. Pistons that pushed them back in, or special explosive boxes, or even allowing the screen to wrap.

The speed the boxes dropped was just because I didn't think people would play more than once or twice anyway. I just wanted to get the idea out there, probably could have balanced it better though.

@jamison Thanks for playing. I have another project I'm working on now, this was a nice Jam break. I may return to this idea after though. I did make the music too! Glad you liked it!

@iamsodarncool Yeah I thought about adding ability to drop boxes down. Just one of those things I had to leave out to meet the deadline. Something I'll add if I return to the project. Everyone knows coming up with a title is the hardest part of game-dev lol

Really good feel to this game, good music, good art, and great gameplay work really well together. The robot is really cute though it would have been nice to see some kind of a background.

Pretty good across the board and I had a lot of fun, though I'm pretty bad at it lol.

A bit like tetris, but new and fresh. It's nice and fun to play, but i had problems figuring out the rules and the colliders made problems once. Graphics and audio fitted the game, and the theme is well implemented.

mark-usmiani 2018-08-18 03:16

@ismael-rodriguez I think it was having the lift/throw and jump being the mouse, I kept getting them mixed up, either jumping instead of throwing, or throwing instead of jumping. Might just be me though haha

Graphics and audio are amazing! Overall it is fun and addictive. Great job!

The difficulty seemed suddenly increased after about ten to twenty blocks. This might need more adjusted.

I liked everything about this game: sprites, music, sound effects, but for me the gameplay seems awkward. It would be great if the player was able to pick up the boxes from the right or left side.

coda-highland 2018-08-23 03:06

I had a lot of trouble with the play control. Picking up boxes was finicky and sometimes the boxes clipped into each other. That said, it's clear what you were aiming for and with some polish this could be really good.

mza 2018-08-25 22:02

I like your take on a match-3 game. It does need a bit of love and polish - but you conveyed the controls and purpose of the game well and the controls and movement seen very functional despite the blocks being abit slippery.

thewustache 2018-08-26 10:56

Very clever idea! I enjoyed this, especially in the starting phase. I had trouble with the controls (jumping with right click is unintuitive to me) so the game got too fast for me too quickly. The music's great!
