Funny sounds. When you changed characters the old character stayed on the screen. Was a little lost too when I re-spawned as another character.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Super Smash Berries

Neat entry! It's cool that you designed a variety of player characters and that you kept switching them off as you played.
Some of the hit boxes and animations were a little ambiguous, particularly on Strawberry's attack. I had a hard time hitting enemies without getting hurt. Mouth-made sound effects are always fun, but it gets a bit repetitive (especially on Blueberry).
Nice work for 48 hours!
@itskdog Thank you. Originally the plan was to make a standby animation for the inactive characters, So them staying on the screen was intentional. I ran out of time to set up smooth camera transitions to help alleviate some of that disorientation
@jeremy-ryan I noticed that as well when I did more playthroughs. There are definitely tweaks to be made. I set it up with trigger colliders on the fists of all the characters themselves, so they are hard to control
Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Thanks @pilarius, Didnt realize i forgot to add it.
I really love those sound effects XD Cool visuals, nice gameplay! Good job!
The seed explosion sound is my favorite part. The controls were intuitive enough and the models were creative. I wish I could have been rewarded somehow other than just to keep it alive, but that was the theme I guess. Great jobs guys.
The game looks good and feels nice to control. I did find a bit of a bug: when I walked into one of the blackberry plants it pushed me under the map to fall for all eternity.
Overall nice submission though!
Interesting game! The blueberry was hard to attack the enemies at close range. Also there is no penalty for using the Boost, so I could just hold it down all the time, except that my finger gets sore eventually!
What's the trigger for switching characters? It seems to pop up even when there are still enemies around.
I liked the low-poly graphics and sounds :)
Now THIS is gaming right here. Blueberry main all day.
I noticed the characters got a bit glitcy when touching the bushes, so i intentionally managed to get the blueberry stuck falling forever beneath the world. Other than that i thought the sound effects were hilarious. And i also think there should have been a button to swap characters instead of between waves.
Ported it to Mac for you: (EDIT: Mac users can download it from his itch.io page)
I like the concept, and I like the name reference. I think there could have been a bit more visual feedback. I think it was a glitch, when it asked me to select a character (I guess I died?) my old character would still be standing in the same place. Bot bomb-throwing one was the only one I could attack without trading hits.
The 3d art was the high point, those character models are really good.
@jerm Thanks. I discovered a bug near the end of development where you can spawn more enemies than are required to actually finish the wave, so that is why this happens.
@shaolin-dave Thank you for taking the time to do a Mac port! I will upload it and credit you. The character select screen pops up when the wave ends. Originally the plan was to make a standby animation, and transition animation for the inactive characters, So them staying on the screen was intentional.
@fatsheep I think there is a debug tool still in place to let you switch characters, (which ends the wave) , But this is a good idea.
@masterkrepta NP, just a reminder you should update the link on this page to say Windows/Mac instead of just Windows.
I had no Idea what I was supposed to do, the lack of music was kinda annoying, and things were a little slow. But I thought it looked very cute with the graphics, and I had some fun playing it. Just add some music and stuff, and it'd be all good! Although, my computer was lagging like mad playing, but that's just me, not the game :).
I liked that you were able to fit 3 characters in there. You can spam a LOT of bombs so the ranged berry is definitely my favorite, although the sound effects do get annoying after hearing them a hundred times. I noticed that you move much faster if you go diagonally so that's useful. I did get lost at first because of where the berries spawn in, but I figured it out quick enough.
Ohhh I glitched through the floor, and also add invisible walls at the corners, because the player shouldn't be able to fall off there as well. I really like the idea and think it could be expanded upon. I would like to be able to switch between characters during play, or have them switch automatically after some time. And also it would be nice to have a base for each fruit, so you have to defend multiple bases. This game would benefit grately from some polish, may that be the already mentioned walls or just some music and some changes to the UI. But i found the idea to be one of the more innovative ones and it fitted the theme. Also gave some humor bonus for the soundeffects and the whole fruit thing XD Enjoyed playing this, keep making games, and best luck for your entry!
Great concept - very ambitious for such a short game jam! A few things could be tweaked to step up the gameplay if you decide to support this game going forward: * The melee characters didn't seem to have any way to avoid damage from the bugs. Giving the bugs a half second delay before they 'attack' the player would be useful. * The bugs were often very difficult to see. Obviously there are going to be a lot of art constraints during a short game jam, so maybe something simple like using more contrasting colors would help. Make the bugs larger and brighter! * The floor could really use a texture of some sort, or at least a matte material. It often felt like I was floating. * Audio. I'm sure this was planned and there wasn't time, but adding in a few small bop sounds for the attacks and being hit would greatly help the feedback given to the player.
All things considered, you did a great job for such a short time period! Very impressed this was entered in the compo - I would have guessed it was a Jam game.
Definitely a unique theme - battle of the fruits! Couldn't tell is the bar on top is health or timer, or what. A simple text label, icon, or symbol could help. Kudos on enemy variety. My biggest gripe is the mouth sound fx :(
