Pretty wild concept. Good work. I liked the sounds most of all.

Pretty wild concept. Good work. I liked the sounds most of all.
Really interesting game, I loved the wacky kinda creepy art. Fun gameplay, with pretty good physics!
It is a really zanny concept, I like the trip it took me on. "Hey what did you do today", "Nothing, just used my octopus arms to stop my pirate buddy from knifing my flaming hot potater friend"
Things I liked: Pretty humorous game, kinda weird. Liked the name, stood out. Controls pretty good. Things I disliked: Not enough fingers and spaghetti arms.
Really interesting idea. Laughted throught the whole experience, especially when the potato hit the person's head :D great animations! Wished I had more arms... :)
Haha great game, really fun. The controls felt good. I would have preferred if butter etc. would have arrived a bit earlier I never made it to the point where I could eat my potato.
This is great! The mechanics are interesting and fun, the graphics as well. You have a really nice art style.
Very fun game, the sound when you smash the potato is awesome. x) But now, I'm hungry ! Well done :p
I had to laugh att the description. Really funny and tricky gameplay. There is something, that i would call a bug, where the potato gets trapped inside of my arm, when i create a loop with it, so it can't escape. But great humor, theme fitting and overall a game that actually hooked me for quite some time!
Funniest and most humerus i have played yet. Good Job! (this guy with all the knives in his arme makes me a bit sad^^)
Yaay, I made the perfect potater and never need to eat again!
I remember playing your game "Void Prisioner" and thinking it was very weird, but this one is even more hahaha. I took a long time to understand what I had to do (besides punching the potato). I think if you made more clear that the knife doesn't hurt the player and, if the butter came sooner, the goal of the game would be more clear. I had problems with that box with 2% written on it, it wasn't combining with the potato, so I got confused, thought that I should let the knife hit it, but then nothing happened, it was frustrating.
Overall it was very fun, humorous and the music and sound effects were really well done!
I love the artstyle of this! The sound is quite fun as well. The knife getting stuck in the arms is a bit weird, as I wasn't sure whether it can still hurt the potat.
That was a delicious potato!
Fun gameplay, nice graphics, hilarious sound effects and great music. Good job
Gotta say, really didn't know what to expect but holy crap that was great. I was extremely confused at first but after losing a few times I understood the premise. I was really confused when I just seemed to absorb the knife attacks like nothing but I assume I've built up a huge amount of defense from all the potatoes I've eaten. I really like the chalk outlines around the characters! My only complaint on that end was that it was only around certain parts of the character. Overall I really enjoyed it tho! Great job!
It's super weird, but I liked. It wasn't clear to me what I need to do with the potato. Just keep it in the air?
Really interesting concept for a game. The arms mechanic worked perfectly and the sound design went hand in hand with the graphics.
Hahahahhah really funny!
Well this is exceptional :D. Despite the base premise being very wacky the gameplay work well and it feels like balancing a hot potato. Also appreciate the scoring system based on how many optional extra goals the player completes. After a few tries I was able to beat it. As the potato had cooled of I thought "what now?" to myself, but instinctively decided to notch the potato over to my head to eat it. Yum!
Great game! nice and interesting concept but it still makes for a great game, good job
I like the graphics !
I like how you portrayed the "Keep it alive" theme. It was funny to play, well balanced and polished. By the way, the art is interesting! I will keep trying until I get all the condiments, my evil brother won't stop me with his knifes
Hahahah I actually like very much the concept you used!! It was a very cool and fun experience for me!! Great job!
That was very surreal and funny. Certainly one of the more unique game concepts I've seen, and the art and sound really bring such a strange concept together.
What a wild game haha. Lots of fun to play, and the sound effects were great. Well done!
Man, this is weird... and I loved IT!... awesome work. so kreepy. I loved the lack of instructions, forces you to play it at least three or four times, but still is intuitive. The coments on the potatoes flavor make you feel bad when its not perfect, pysicologic manipulation ajjajajajajaj.
I loved this one lol. The sound effects and wonky arms were perfect. Nice job!
Haha this is hilarious. It's fun, the art is weird, and it fits the theme. Great how you took simple gameplay and made it addictive, sometimes that's all you need!
Probably the most surreal game I've played this Jam, and I mean that in the best way possible! Only issue I had was figuring out how to combine the various toppings - i get you have to press the potato up against it, but it seemed kind of random as to when it worked. Either way, funny and weird, good job!
The artstyle is horrifying, but intentionally... : L

Evaluation...
1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow: Mechanics is about keeping "bouncing" objects in the air (without them falling). It also requires the player to control some of these objects to blend in the air (I can imagine many interesting variations on top of that mechanics). In addition to bouncing objects, some risks must also be avoided, while the shields are extendable arms of the player's character (PC). Learning how to control all of this was not very difficult. I add to this the fact that the difficulty increases with time (with a few hints of randomness). I think everything was balanced and fun, as well as challenging.
2 - Graphics, Audio, Narrative and Polishment: The graphics were slightly bizarre and funny. The track played the role of background, while the sound effects were slightly repetitive (who knows more variations would be interesting, hahahahah). The narrative was simple and at the same time scary (from the point of view of putting characters with the look of those old dolls and at the same time children's clothes and knives). I believe that the delivery was good in artistic terms, something that could be polished (outside Ludum Dare's time).
3 - Culture: Games like hot potatoes were put "literally" in a challenging game. Unfortunately the game is short (and I don't see a good way to prolong it, unless it becomes a culinary game in general, greatly expanding the project's horizons in post-game jam time).
4 - Monetization: If the project migrates to something in the "culinary" style (almost real, with recipes being "taught"), then I think it could be something valid for smartphones and / or the Internet. :) I think I could sell a little bit via itch.io.
Amazing game! Kinda hurts my arms and makes me hungry! I mean, I loved it!
Well, that was funny! Very unique and creative mechanics. It reminded me of the mobile game "Bacon" for some reason. I think it could be developed further and be a cool mobile game.
Really funny game. It was pretty fun, but the best part was that it was goofy and funny. It took me a while to find the play button on the home screen though, so maybe that could use some improvement.
Hilarious concept. Loved the sounds the potato makes when it gets tossed in the air. Keeping the potato airborne was challenging enough. Getting condiments on top of it was impossible. Great job! This is the kind of stuff I love Ludum Dare for
This is great! The idea of potato tossing is hilarious, and the art style fits the theme really well. The voices the potato makes is funny. Great job!
This is really funny concept and i liked it. I loved the art and sound effects you added to it. Good Luck for your future projects!
Really cool game and definitely one of my favourites this jam. The artwork is really nice, the gameplay is fun and also the humor is great. Keep up the good work and thank you for uploading this gem! :-)
I smashed my tater!!
Cool game. Everything was slick and polished and worked well together. Nice work.
Haha that was really fun to play, I managed to make a poo tater  It's a cool concept and unique mechanic, not come across anything similar either! Art was really good and the sounds definitely added to the homour. Nice job!
Really fun, and conceptual game. Very humoristic and crazy ! Love potatoes ;)
Really funny game that remond me of some adult cartoons haha! I definitely enjoyed it and it is worth playing. Kepp it up and congratulations.
Game crash for me after I press start button. Any logs that I can export?
@Team-on Thanks for the report. We don't have any log files. Which operating system are you running on? If you start the program from terminal does it say anything in stdout?
Funny game! Why wouldn't pirates want to knife potatoes? :knife: :knife: :potato: It's in their nature after all. I got a toast into the mix and decided it was a potato as far as I was concerned. Was I right? Yes, I believe so.
Excellent submission! The game is funny, fun to play, the visuals are beautiful and the procedural arms are very well done.
I had so much fun playing this game... Really cool. I like the weird arms of the character. And those sound effects... x) Ouuh ! Made it to eat only without salt, so not bad :p Simple bu effective. Good job there !
I really liked the sounds and the art. I loved how the arms move. I hated that pirate! Why does he want to kill my potato?
Well that was different from all the entries I've seen before :) Glad to see some new ideas! Also this game is very well made and fun to play in my opinion. Congrats!
This was as disturbing as it was funny. Definitely the most unique entry I've played and made me laugh! Great job! :smile_cat:
Fun game and one of the few ones so far I've played all the way through. Liked how you used the one mechanic to build a game around the theme. Took me quite a few attempts to get my potato but came so close so many times that I couldn't stop until I'd passed it. Only ended up finishing with the butter but liked that you used other objects to add a bit of replayability.
For some reason, I found this whole thing extremely funny! I am still laughing! it is definitely a new concept for me and I never seen anything like it. Why am I wearing a dino outfit? Why is there a pirate in my kitchen? Why does he hate the potato? Where does he take all the knifes from? What happened to my arms? Was I hit by cosmic radiation? Why don't I just put the potato down? Why is my potato sentient? If he is sentient, why would I want to it him? Is the potato comfortable in the foil? So many questions!
I loved the Mr Fantastic arms! Although few times I found them unresponsive, especially near the stove. They sort of glitched, I think, and didn't want to move.
It took me time to play but I loved the presentation. Well made.
Cool game! Wacky elongation of the arms is very funny. Like the art style. Congrats...
This was super fun! I liked the gameplay a lot and it was really polished and a joy to play all the way through. The arm physics in particular were really interesting to play with! I ended up getting 3 out of the 4 toppings, and had a blast doing it! My only complaint is that sometimes it felt like the potato would hit a topping but then not connect--I'm pretty sure I would have gotten all 4 if that wasn't the case. Overall, great work! This is a great game!
