This is cool and shows some real love for older games, nice one.

This is cool and shows some real love for older games, nice one.
I like the simple but pleasing visuals, and the gameplay is really fun.
Kinda been said a lot but the concept is very cool and I quite like the art, gives me retrostalgia.
I'm continually amazed by the quality of some entries to this Ludum Dare, this has somehow managed to impress me even further. Awesome job.
This is really unique, would love to see it expanded into a fully fledged game. I think carnivores should just spawn randomly or something cause I just avoided placing them to keep everything smooth, but I do think this is a game with loads of potential.
I like the retro feel and look it has, reminds me of a dark room in some ways.
Incredible job. Wonderful artwork, great music, awesome amount of depth, funny humour, really impressive.
Wow. The art alone is incredible, you have some amazing talent to do all this in such a short time, I'm beyond impressed. So polished too!
Interesting, I can definitely imagine this being expanded into something more, with perhaps limited time to search in the day, then the player must return home before nightfall, the end goal being to get all to escape but something comes out at night perhaps.
Either way, cool art and I like that the player had a little idle animation, the moving animation was a little too fast and I do think the camera was a little dizzying, especially when left-clicking, but overall a cool game, especially with the even further limited time you ended up having.
Awesome take on the theme, would be interesting to see ti expanded further and turned into something similar to Evoland.
Nice take on tetris, the theme is pretty loose, but still cool with pleasing presentation.
Damn, really well made and looks pretty good too, the chicken was adorable too, feels good to play too.
Damn, the art is fantastic! Nice job overall, really cool entry.
I feel like a stuck record with the number of amazing entries but this is a mind-blowingly brilliant entry, with awesome art and such a cool idea, I think it's one of my favourites by far.
I like the art a lot, simple but looks really nice and the animations add a lot of life, controls are good, and the game is quite difficult, though I'm terrible at platformers, so it may just be me.
Another slime fan : ), nice art with good gameplay, controls were a little wonky, but I liked how colourful the game is.
Really cool art, surprised how much you got done too, great entry.
Excellent presentation. The movement system honestly made me feel a little sick, but other than that I really like this entry. Art is great too.
This is awesome, really cool take on the theme and the squirrel is really cute.
Really cute.
This is pretty neat, the art is really unique and the game feels pretty tight.
Nice art, music is too loud and needs more SFX, but it's a really cool game.
This was pretty cool, I like the music too. Would be cool to see it expanded into something more.
Awesome. Genuinely impressed by how much there is to this game. You've done wonderfully, definitely inspirational.
Genuinely awesome. Brilliant art and so much content.
Wow, really good job, whilst it was a little obvious what was going on, it was still effective and you've done a great job with this.
Couldn't care less about the lack of theme fitting, this is really fun with some awesome art work and responsive gameplay. Nice job!
This is really interesting, I like the concept and the art is nice and simple.
Adorable. Interesting mechanic too, would have prefered WASD control, but still cool.
@daitse Ah ok, that's great then. Again, really nice job on this.
This is cool, I like the art and it's pretty unique, needs sound but it's still good.
This is really unique and it's nice that you mixed up the combat system, awesome job.
I quite like it, a lot of stuff created, especially in 30 hours and has a lot of potentials, nice work.
Very unique, nice job.
Nice entry with a hell of a lot to it for the short dev cycle, awesome job. The UI controls etc were a little in the way though.
Love it. My favourite so far, everything is great, love the art and the sounds. The humour is great, everything, again, is great. Definitely aiming for something as complete as this next time.
Pretty smooth to play with decent art and I like the atmosphere the game has due to the darkness.
The art is so clean, the game is funny too. I like it.
Has an impressive amount of replayability in short bursts, and nice audio, the art is cute too.
This is something that I think will gain quite a lot of popularity, it's cute and well put together, awesome job.
I love the art and think the game is really unique, it's a little light on gameplay, but that's the nature of making a game in such a short time (as we found out), so it's fine.
Movement is a little awkward, art is brilliant and the soundtrack etc is great, the atmosphere the game has is palpable and I think it's quite amazing.
@j0ye Thanks for playing, and for the feedback. Yeah, it was a messy dev cycle, and we didn't actually have anything playable around five hours before the deadline haha.
@3mpty Thanks : ), that's funny, we were thinking about what to make it do and had no time so just thought "Close it".
@james-beninger Thanks for the encouragement : ). Yeah, we're pretty happy we managed to get something done at least, but next time we'll have more of a full package for sure!
@dimlight Yeah, that's understandable. Thanks for the kind words, and yeah, slimes are adorable : )
@geist-191 Thanks a lot! : )
@alphaden Thanks : ) glad you liked it.
@zdravkon Thanks c :
@cirno Thanks : )
@zoarfy Thanks a bunch, we really appreciate it.
@realitycheck Thanks for the input : ). I did notice that issue but we had no time to fix it sadly, we are going to work on the project more over time and make it closer to what we had originally envisioned.
@eymrich Thanks : D
@ludumanthony Yeah, the sound was all a little cobbled together sadly. The original idea was a randomly generated roguelike involving a boss you had to gather gear to defeat, but work consumed all our time so instead of giving up or just seeing where we ended up, I quickly came up with a new "Design" and we wanted to make it so you were a knight transformed into a slime who had to regain their humanity and would do so by killing monsters and solving puzzles, but we were simply out of time and just ended up with this. We were happy with it though because we had nothing even close to playable a few hours before the deadline.
@optus23 Thanks! : )
@gamefive Thanks : )
@shabbyrtist No problem, will definitely have a more complete product next time.
@lightwaves We'd like to expand it and make it more like the original idea which I mentioned a few comments above, just depends on how our time works out, but yes, we will 100% do better next time and have a complete product.
This is actually adorable, the character reminds me of something from Pet in TV on the PS1. Love it.
The art is really nice, but the game seems to be broken
This is a fun entry, I think there's a bug where the music continues but a new version starts again if you restart
A very nice simple but somewhat addicting game, this could easily be a great moblie time wasting game for when you have nothing to do.
The artstyle is horrifying, but intentionally... : L
Wonderful artstyle and nice, unique gameplay, good job.
Really cute and good challenging gameplay.
Cute art, and I think the concept is interesting and worth expanding on.
Good atmosphere, decent gameplay, good job.
I liked the little cutscene and the mechanic for hiding your slime feels like it has potential, I think the controls felt a bit awkward though, but it's enjoyable either way.
Clean art and a fun concept overall.
It's cool and the camera did work. just needed to click first, it would benefit massively from sounds and sound effects, and I think the bloom needs to be reduced a bit. The segment near the end tells you to use the wall, but you don't need to as you have so much HP anyway.
Overall though it is decent.
Artwork is cool, sounds are a good addition and it has a nice vatmosphere to it overall
One of my favourites so far, great concept
Not too much to say due to it being pretty similar to papers please, as a joke obviously, but still.
I like this, really cool and has a sort of jackbox vibe with a running feeling of being lighthearted.
So stressful! but great entry, really like the aesthetic!
Really nice presentation and it felt quite responsive.
Pretty moody, good job on that, the music is really nice, and the art looks pleasing.
Not too much to add different to what others said, good job
I love the presentation, really sleak and elegant.
Beautiful, but the gameplay was a little overwhelming.
Nice and simple, took me a while to figure out what was going on but I did enjoy it.
Nice game, cool concept.
Very cute and unique
The chalky artsyle is amazing, though the game itself is a bit buggy, I managed to jump over the boss and out of the map. I think the attack animation could be sped up, or just given more weight but it's still a cool game, just with some gameplay issues and typos.
Art is great and the game has a nice sense of humour.
The art is really nice and the game is fun
It's ok, the art almost had a nice charm to it though, tidy it up a bit and I think it would be a cool aesthetic.
Damn! This is my favourite so far.
The art is really well done and I love the lighting and how it slowly becomes less dark. The game feels polished and really responsive, and the main mechanic is great. The games tone is good and I'm genuinely impressed. Awesome work.
Pretty good idea and use of the theme, the art has it's charm, and the little yell makes me smirk, nice one.
This is a great game though it is very easy. Adding something to lengthen the game could make this really tense.
The UI for this, and the presentation in general, is awesome, fun little game.
Great job on the art and music. The aesthetic of the game is really pleasing overall.
The pixel art is done well an dthe skill tree is a nice touch.
@robcozzens2 - Hey, I can try and get a mac version up tomorrow, but I don't have any way to test it and 've never done one before so I can't promise good results. But I'll have look.
@terristen - Thanks for the feedback, yeah I think a shadow would have been helpful in hindsight.
@boxedmeatrevolution - Thanks for playing, yeah as developers we played it enough to have the jumping parts down so we did find it difficult to balance, we'll have to find someone out of the loop to help test it in the future.
@low-mana - Thanks : ), we did discuss checkpoints during development but struggled to think of a smooth way to implement it for what was original four controlable robots, but we have identified a solution and when/if we build this into a proper game we will be implementing things such as that.
@robcozzens2 - Hey, I made you a Mac version, though again, I have no way of testing it but I hope it works for you : ) https://whatnamegames.itch.io/automata - there will now be a mac version that you can choose to download.
@foursay - Thanks so much, that means a lot. I (the designer etc) tried my best to design the levels and puzzles with a lot of focus on natural teaching moments, but all I can do now is hope I managed to convey it well, so this eases my mind and pleases me greatly. Thanks a lot. I'll get around to giving everyone's games tomorrow, as I want to put time into playing others games, and at least make sure to do so for all who have taken the time to play ours especially.
@lesslwo - Thanks for playing and for the feedback, checkpoints will definitely be added in a full version in the form of special checkpoint rooms every x puzzles for example. Thanks for playing!
@bulent-altinay - Thank you! Yeah, for a full version we're making a lot of changes, and the pickup system is being revamped to be a lot more user friendly, as well as other aspects to also aid such mechanics.
@andre-fremaux - Thanks a lot for the kind words and feedback : ), honestly, the movement tweaks flew a little under our radard after getting used to it from testing, but we're going to ensure it's a lot smoother for a future release, alongside many other changes.
@marcusnystrand - Thank you! The portal comparisons are nice to hear as I did take some inspirations from it, obviously : )
@inkedsplat - Really appreciate you playing and providing feedback, doors are being made double width and the pickup system is being revampd for the eventual full release, all your feedback is really appreciated.
@morandigame - Thank you, there is now a mac version, so feel free to play : D
@thevruniverse - Thanks a bunch : )
@leon-oost - It's great to hear you enjoyed it, checkpoints are definitely going to be added to the final product : )
@sztrovacsek - Those are some wonderful words of encouragement, thanks a bunch.
@megahana - No problem, now I know hoe easy it is, I will do it going forwards. We're pleased you enjoyed it so much!
@gorypixels - That means a lot, thanks for playing.
@robcozzens2 - No problem, thanks so much for playing. Not too sure yet about if we're making a mailing list, I'll look into it, but you can always follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/whatnamegames18 if you like, to keep up to date, we'll be posting more about the full version soon when we have major updates to show.
@nsadie - Thanks a bunch, yep, platforming is being redone and a checkpoint system is being built for the full game.
@legavroche - Thanks for the kind words! I intend to make the robots even better for their final game models : )
@perpetuummobile - That means a lot, definitely be having a full set of sounds for the real game and all other critiques are being addressed.
@jk5000 - Thanks : )
@brachistosauro - Thanks, a lot will be changed for the final version to make it much smoother and give the game more content and polish.
@cadstor - Thanks a lot.
@lerg - Thanks for the feedback, happy you liked it.
@karenin-dmitry - Thanks for the extensive feedback and pointing out the twitter issue, I fixed it : ), the issues mentioned are fixed/are being fixed in the full game.
@lamossus - Thanks : ), we're making syre to fix such issues like you mentioned.
@thx4nothing - Cechkpoints will be a feature of the full game, thanks for playing!
@faenic - Thanks for the feedback, helps improve the updated full release so it's all very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!
I liked the idea of the game and I think it could be very enjoyable if it is worked on a bit more. Some things I didn't really like was the screens when starting the game being timed and not being able to read them fully or go back to them, also being able to shoot out of the map and jump straight to the end kinda ruins the whole game. If this gets alot more work on it however, I think it could become a great game.
Fun little game, I think the collider on the character is a bit wonky thought, but overall a good entry.
I'm not going to repeat the usual comments, not that they're wrong, I just thought I'd try to say something else. I think what you have is a quirky and bizarre game (in a good way), which I'm quite fond of, the music is good and I like the simple art.
Gave me valiant hearts vibes, I like the art too.
Awesome work for what seems to be your first entry, great job.
Nice fun game
I really like the aeshtetic for this, and I think the visuals look good. With some sounds etc I feel the ambience would be brilliant too, as it is pretty good without it.
Great presentation, feels well put together in general, great work.
I like the simplicity of the game and that it seems nice and casual at first but then quickly escalates and gets very tense.
The soundtrack is great, but seriously, the artwork is brilliant, it looks wonderful and the paralax effects sell it all wonderfully, genuinely great job. The game has a nice sense of humour to it too.
This was an experience
I think you've done great with this! Cute game and well put together.
Really fun concept but it seemed to freeze often for me, probably would be better in a full build if I had to guess, but you have something pretty quriky and cool here, no doubt.
I really like this, the art is nice and the robot is really cute. I uploaded the mac version for you btw : )
A little unclear on what to do at first, but it's a neat concept and the presentation is pleasent
It can be a little finicky to control but it is an interesting idea.
This is cute af, the sounds add a lot of personality to the game and the egg theme is nice.
Pretty cute game, I like the dino's : )
Cute game, I like the storybook presentation
Pretty cool game, love the visuals. The difficulty ramp is a bit extreme though.
Cool game, a few of my giraffes fell through the floor but overall a pretty good game.
