Very nice, I was looking forward to this

Very nice, I was looking forward to this
Great game! I liked how Everything rotated for the ice-baby to move. Speaking of the ice baby, SO CUTE!!! I'm Sur this will make an awesome full game!
Wow, fresh new mechanic of controlling the world instead of the player. The melting seems to only be calculated on the ground so a cheeky strategy is to keep poggo jumping. I would love to find out if you have other idea relating to how this world tilting mechanic can be extended further
Cute game, nice!
This is great, In the beginning, It felt quite slow to move around, But then I saw I became faster as I got slower, Very nice!
Very cute character, and nicely innovated in the controlling of the world instead of the character. I like the face animations of the ice cube as well.
The levels are nice and fleshed out too.
I really liked the tilting mechanic! Jumping did seem a bit sluggish to me. Also, for me it would make more sense to show the melting percentage as reverse of current (like remaining 100% -> 0%), but it might be just me. Also graphics are good and the menu looks great!
Overall great entry!
Great mechanics, the screen tilting is fantastic and tying speed/jump to the size is very clever. Creates an incentive to actually melt yourself down a bit! Visuals are very nice too, overall great job!
Fun game, very challenging. Starts slow, but the final levels were great! I liked the cute ice-cube.
@sneakycocoon yeah I know, it was a way to make the game a bit easier, at the beginning the air had a melting percentage as well, but then I saw it got really tricky to finish some levels, so I decided to remove it and let the player bunnyhop around to melt less.
Simple, yet fun to play and an interesting way to move the character.
I love the design and the concept. It is great to include text in the level design to explain mechanics
However, I had a very hard time getting past Level 2. Then later in Level 4 you explain that being smaller make you go faster and higher. I feel like, either you should have explained that earlier, or made the Level 2 introducing the shadows way easier ! :)
But this is great work, it fits the theme very well and the graphics are really cute ! Well done !
I liked the mechanic and the twist with the melting on purpose, to gather speed. Also, the increasing difficulty in the levels. Graphics was cute too! Fun game to play!
Its facial expression is soooo cute XD
The action part of the game is quite hard to me, yet the mechanic of melting adds to the strategy of the game. I like it.
I can't get past level 2, seems like I'm missing something vital. Regradless, looks great and good job!
Cool concept. It's surprising what you effects you can create with just a bit of a camera tilt :3 melting ice is a great way to code a timer in your game's story.
For feedback, melting only happens when you're on the ground. I find myself hopping to avoid it. Is this intentional? It feels overpowered.
This is neat ^^ I really liked the size-speed ratio thing. That's pretty clever =)
Great concept and game! Loved the level design; gradually introducting new mechanics.
Good idea ! Original platformer, and I like feature like staying in shadow, cool game ! Great Job
So hard! Could use a couple of easier levels in the beginning. Otherwise, nice entry!
A really cool mechanic. I feel like you overtested some of the levels, so a lot of the jumps were really pecise and hard. But the game looks really nice and once you have the hang of the controls it is a lot of fun!
Nice concept! quite hard for me but very amusing!
Great concept! It was the most original idea! Jumping with spacebar doesn't work while pressing right/left arrows, but it works with up arrow. The difficult could increase a little slower, my 4 years old daughter loved the game, but it becomes too difficult for her very quickly, it could be facilitated for this public... Great game, I didn't expected this quality on compo! To me this is the best game!
Really awesome! Great concept, i loved controlling the environment instead of the ice cube! Good level design and the game is funny! Are you italian?
Best one I´ve played so far. Nice graphics and idea
I love this. I love the little face of the ice cube. I love the general aesthetic of the game, and I love the very Super Monkey Ball-esqe movement method of moving the stage not the protagonist. This game is really good and I am happy I decided to play it.
Nice game, at first i thought the cube was a little slow but then i worked out that you get faster as you melt. Couldn't beat the platformer section though :P
man this is an impressive take on the theme! I really like the arts too...
@nuanda79 thanks you, yeah italian here :D what about you?
@toc @swen @sorko @khopa @maniulo @bakob @zondarg @giulia Thank you so much for the flattering words, appreciate you guys and I will soon play your games as well.
Si fabrizio, anche io e Giulia siamo italiani! Ancora complimenti!
@nuanda79 Grazie mille :D
Got to the finish -- it did make my quarantine less boring, thank you! Excellent use of theme, innovative mechanics, and cute graphics. Just wish it had music.
Cool concept, really like the idea, though the controls felt slow. It was also sad to watch the ice cube get stuck to the wall with nowhere to go, and have to pitch him into the lava to restart the level. :frowning:
I updated the game today, with a bugfix on the tiles collision that was bothering lot of people!
Hey this is super innovative! I love everything about this, could see this becoming a fun mobile game or something, great job!
Super beautiful!!! I love this game. Great job!
Really cute game 🙂 Loved the ice cube graphics and the level tiles were cool too! The level design was neat also. Great entry! Really well done!
Really fun and cute, loved the mechanic. I would put a SNES version of Ice Ice Baby or something like that on the soundtrack, haha
That was solid (lol)! I mean, cute graphics and a not-that-usual platform style controls. It's a shame that you couldn't fit a sound theme for it but still a very good entry and I had lots of fun.
Loved the mechanic! Art is really good too, very solid game! Great job!
Lots of cool ideas here and a great interpretation of the theme. Some of the jumps were quite precise and the time pressure could be little difficult but I liked that you got faster as you melted and could heal yourself on snow - it makes you feel like you have control over those things, and sneaking into the igloo at the last second at max speed felt really satisfying. Nice job, I liked this a lot!
Loved it ! I found the gameplay quite innovative
Nice game, cool concept.
Excellent game! I thought it was really innovative to have the world tilt to make the Ice Baby slide, and each level got more challenging as it goes on. I would love to hear some music or sound effects! Overall, a wonderful game. Thank you for sharing and congrats on completing the jam!
Great game! Loved the concept. I had a really hard time with the moving platforms but other than that, it was pretty fun. Thanks for offering to rate games today. Mine's called Innocuous Pong. There's a WebGL version, but it's a little buggy and the Mac and Windows executables are better.
this is a really good. game I think the controls needs to be smoother (the Icecube slips faster)
I wish there were sounds as well. I think this could be fun on mobile where you can use gyro to slip the ice cube.
Really fun game with interesting mechanics! I did manage to stick myself to a "vertical" wall on the left side of the 34 degree level before I realized I should be going the other way.
I think it's a fun game and you got a very good mechanic on your hand, but because the controls are a bit finicky the player doesn't use it to its full capacity. You can easily make the controls smoother later on. Besides, it's a jam game, the essential is that you finished and you got yourself a solid base for a good game. Cheers mate!
Great job ! I love the concept and the graphics. The game can be very frustrating, I guess that is because of the jumps for me they'r too short. I really like your game, good job !
nice work on the different elements affecting the poor little ice cube. But I thought that salt is what is making ice to melt faster ;) overall that was fun and apparently I have some platform skills :)
I liked the background. The sun really made mood of the world being a really hot place.
Very interesting and fun game mechanics, probably one of my favorites! Great job!
Nice mechanics and theme use! Also graphics is lovely,
Is it working also for a mobile phones with "moving your phone"?:)
It's ok, but level design was meh. You can't have jumps where the player can't see where he's jumping and whether where he's jumping is safe or not.
@sheetcode not at the moment, but it can be a great idea to use the device gyroscope, thanks!
Nice game! I love the mechanics and melting/speed logic, maybe adding some sound would complete the mood. All in all great job!
I loved this game. I though the mechanics were clever. I liked how the amount of melted ice affected its movement. The graphics were very cool and I liked the trailing water that the ice left behind. A funny background track would be nice to have along with some sound effects, but given that this is a great compo submission I understand they might have been ommitted due to time limitaion. Again, great game!
Really good ideas and they are well executed! I like how you control the world, the different speeds of surfaces, and the protective shadows. The faster movement and higher jumps of the ice when it got smaller was good too! The nice touch of the ice cube's mood in different conditions was subtle, but great addition! I feel this game needs to be polished in its movement area. It's good, but the ice cube felt a bit heavy to control which made harder levels a bit annoying. Oh yes, sound would be great too! Overall, really good job and a nice game!
(...aaaannd as I'm typing this I feel my screen is tilting back and forth, just like this game's screen, trippy!)
The gameplay idea and the visual style is really cool. The controls is overall pretty good, but the jumping do always work. The game really need some music and sound effects. Overall is this a pretty well made jam game. Well done.
I just wish there were more levels ! The game difficulty is just how it's supposed to be. Also I liked your cute approach to the game style. And yes, this made my quarrantine less boring ! Overall, nicely done !
Great game! Graphics is simple but cute. I like the mechanics of melting, it makes your game way more challenging. Some music and sound effects would improve your game a lot. Overall a solid entry!
Great game ! Love the concept of rotating camera to move and the melting gameplay, there are a lot of mechanics like sand, salt, shadow to change the level design, that's really cool ! Good job !
What a great little game you created there! and so much levels, especially for a compo! The idea was very interesting, a sweet little puzzle platformer. Controls were smooth (made sense in the context of the ice cube) I think this would be even better with controller support :D OR release this as a smartphone/tablet game, where tilting your screen.. well tilts the world and tapping is jumping :) I can imagine this to do really well in the App Store (I always download stuff like that ^^) Just add sound and more assets (eye candy :)) The sprites were simplistic but sweet and perfectly balanced, it seems like you really properly used the short given time :)
Good job! We enjoyed playing it :)
@fatpenguin Thanks for the flattering words, I agree with everything you wrote but one, I did implement the controller, and I saw streamers playing the game live with the controller, so I' am not sure about what you say..
@fabrizio-spadaro Whoopsie, I just checked and you're right it does indeed have a controller support, it didn't work for me before, maybe my controller wasn't plugged in before or has a broken connection, that happened to another game before, so sorry about that! :) makes your game even better ^.^
I like the idea that you're just sliding the ice cube instead of actually controlling it. It's an innovative turn to make more than just traditional enemies the threat of the level. Fun game!
The sliding was such a clever move! We both have games with cute ice cubes! Great work, man.
Cute graphics! I liked how the controls change as you melt, but also the jump feels kinda bad in the beginning. Also kinda wish there had been sounds, but overall really nice :).
Really unique mechanics, I love it! Great job on the game, everything is introduced at a slow pace so it's easy to understand. Some of the levels were a little difficult for me, being horrible at platformers, but it was a great challenge! Solid entry!
Really nice set of mechanics. The levels progress nicely with a satisfying ramp in difficulty and new content. One issue I found is that it thinks I'm stood under a shadow when I'm stood next to a platform with a shadow underneath, maybe make your trigger zones slightly smaller? (I exploited it a few times).
The graphics are cute and over all it's a very nice game! Great job, I'd love to have more levels to play!
I really liked your entry. It's a clever take on the usual platformers and the levels are fun to go through while being challenging! Good job!
This was a nice amount of content for 48 hours. I liked the challenge of the later levels. If there was just a bit of audio it would make the game feel quite a bit better. It was also a little hard to tell that certain objects (such as trees) were supposed to be in the foreground. The sliding is a nice idea for a platformer and the fact that it changes how the block controls is cool.
Cool, nice take on the platformer genre. The art is pretty good, too. :)
It would've been great if the jump controls were a bit more responsive. It's kind of difficult to jump right after landing, and I was unable to jump when standing at the edge of a platform.
@pepperkep Thanks a lot for the comments, this was made in 48h btw :O
Ooops, didn't see this was compo. Edited my comment
This is a great concept for a game! i love the sprite work and simple mechanics. The levels are challenging and entertaining and I would love to see an expanded version!
I like the idea - and the melting mechanic is cool, especially how you use it on the last level to require a certain amount of melting to jump far enough. The graphics a *really* cute - especially the little face on the ice cube. I found the controls frustrating though - especially in the last level, I didn't really feel like I had adequate control over my character to execute the required jumps consistently - it just took too long for the ice cube to accelerate (which was especially frustrating since the ice cube didn't go so fast in the first place). While the mechanic of going faster when slower is solid, I think more work would need to be put into making sure it still feels good to control the big ice cube. This is really solid as it is and I would definitely want to see it expanded into a more complete game.
Very cute game. Funny theme interpretation, enjoyed the levels a lot. I'll add this to my personal list https://wans24.itch.io/he-needs-healing/devlog/140983/what-ludum-dare-46-did-to-me
Very nice game ! The mechanics and the graphism are good.
There is a lack of sound, but for a compo game that's understandable.
I just have a problem with the last level, wich I found hard, but the others are well made.
Really love your innovative take on 2d platformer! Well done!
I couldn't get past the "test your platforming" skills because my platforming skills aren't that hot! I got far enough to see the igloo but couldn't make that last jump or two because I suck. Great concept and great execution, especially so for compo. Gamepad worked great.
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream to check out. I'm sorry I wasn't able to play while you were watching, but I did get a chance to play. If you'd like to watch, the highlight is at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617255758
