Very cute! I really enjoyed playing your game.
I liked the story aspect, it was short but not boring at all.
Also my roommate and I got waay too excited when all the people remembered the dance hahaha

Very cute! I really enjoyed playing your game.
I liked the story aspect, it was short but not boring at all.
Also my roommate and I got waay too excited when all the people remembered the dance hahaha
Overall, nice work. I really liked the atmosphere and the visuals.
Like people are saying, the movement felt a bit clunky. Instead of having ground movement be independent of looking around, I'd have the mouse control direction and then keys control forward and backward. That way it has more of a two joystick feel. But great job!
Incredible atmosphere and mood. If you composed the ambient piano and wind soundtrack, I give you mad props. Really beautiful.
Despite what others are saying, I really didn't have too much of an issue with the controls. The only thing that confused me with that was your prompts being backwards from the actual buttons. (i.e. RIGHT: No, LEFT: Yes)
I couldn't figure out where to go after sleeping the first night. I guess I probably just should've kept sleeping...
Overall, really nice work. Level design was charming and everything was really peaceful. Fantastic job!
Very challenging and addicting. I made it to the end!
Great job. I like the graphics especially, as well as the variation in the enemies. Level design was nice too. Checkpoints were perfect.
One of my favorites so far. Wonderful and unique mechanics, great minimalist graphics/audio, I loved it. I was especially impressed with the number and quality of the levels you made in such a short time.
The only issue I noticed was some roughness in the way the world collided with certain elements. Specifically: - In the level where you're in the box with the spikes at the top, the bounce pad on the corner, and the goal behind you, I found the world just shooting through the walls when I threw it hard enough. - In the level with the super high wall that you have to throw over, the world didn't die when it hit the water...it just kinda sat there.
But that's all nitpicky! Fantastic job!
Nice work! Loved the claustrophobic, resource management mechanics. I agree with the people above: all that's missing is a win-condition! Achievement badges maybe, or events that mix up the gameplay. I love the concept though. Great job.
P.S. Watch your floating point errors ;) Capture.JPG
Really liked the style, reminded me of Cube World. Fun game play, could've done with some direction though. Also ran into a bug where the camera became fixed at one of the checkpoints and wouldn't follow my character anymore?
Overall, though, great work! I enjoyed playing your game.
I liked the way enemies moved in loops, so that the puzzle aspect was figuring out when to time your moves and rock attacks. I felt a pretty big sense of achievement when I finally beat the first level haha. On the second level, how would you get to the key in the top right corner? Maybe I missed a control or something, but I couldn't even move onto the space.
Overall though, really great job! I liked it a lot. :)
The music was amazing. Also the running animations hahaha
The captions are what made it though, they were hilarious.
Nice job! I had fun playing
Very peaceful, beautifully done.
I always love music sequencers, I'm definitely interested in looking at your code to see how you did it!
Running Windows 10, got an error: "The program can't start because XAPOFX1_5.dll is missing from your computer." Not sure if that's an issue on my end or yours. Your game looks really nice though, I wish I could play it.
Fun little game! I liked the unique concept. The issue that comes with procedural generation is that sometimes you would get a level that was impossible to pass in the given time. This takes the skill out of your game and makes it impossible and frustrating for the player. So that's definitely something to keep in mind! :)
Obviously a lot of work went into this, nice job!
Good start! I like the style, reminds me of those old cuberunner games. I don't have much to add to what everyone else has said. My main suggestions: + Make the controls consistent. I'd say either have rotate with L/R and shoot with SPACE, or rotate with mouse like you have and shoot with Left Click. + Some kind of UI is nice to show progression; i.e. health remaining, enemies killed, wave number etc.
Nice game! :)
I liked the map design, the goofy voice acting/music, and the controls. Flooring it into a pole and flipping end over end into a mountain lake was really fun!!
You should've known better than to put a dog in charge... Capture.JPG
(Nice game btw)
Love it! :) Was a little hard, but the graphics were great! Nice job!!
Nice atmosphere, very hard game! Could've done with some more guidance, as I didn't find the caves until my third playthough and then I kept getting lost in them. Nice work though!
Great job! Loved the look of the city. Could've done with some music to really complete the ambiance! Controls were good, a little floaty. I'd look into tweaking the friction between the player and the ground to make things tighter.
Best game I've played yet! A mechanic I've never seen before, also unique style. I loved it!
The trailer was flawless. Nice game! I loved the animation and all the character's personalities! It seemed to me like there were multiple endings, but each took a long time to play, so maybe an option to 'skip dialogue' would be a good thing in the future.
Great mechanics. Really polished and fleshed out for a LD game. Loved it, nice work! :)
The level design was incredible! I loved the mechanics, nice work!
Great job! Really enjoyed the style and atmosphere. Gameplay was fun too!
The music will be stuck in my head for 30 years. I loved the whole game, and your interpretation of the theme. Graphics were great too.
Very cool game! I found the turn-based resource collection across multiple levels to be a very compelling mechanic. The art was beautiful as well, giving the game a post-apocalyptic feel.
If I could change one thing, I would edit the tutorial to feed the player info in smaller doses. There are a lot of really cool things going on, but as a player I found it difficult to understand what all the changing numbers meant.
Overall, you've got a really fun game here. I could totally see myself playing over and over again to refine my strategy. Thank you so much for sharing and congrats on completing the jam!
@foursay Thank you so much! To answer your question, the rewind works by capturing the object's change in position on every tick, then when you reverse it adds all the vectors and translates the object by the opposite of that combined vector. [Here's the code.](https://github.com/jcowman2/play-back/blob/master/src/data/bodyHistory.js#L15)
@furtive-pygmy I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the constructive feedback as well, I'll be sure to take that into account when I update the game. I can't see a way to contact you on your profile, so would you please shoot me an email at joe.r.cowman@gmail.com so I can let you know when I add more content?
@a333 It's so rewarding to read comments like yours. I can't tell you how glad I am that the feeling I was going for made it through. Thanks for the kind words and the great feedback. I also have many things I feel like I could improve on (especially after playing awesome entries like yours), but that's part of the beauty of this community.
Nice game! I love the whole retro cartridge theme, and you've got a lot of cool, innovative mechanics happening here. The game getting easier as you lose more times is super unique, and I think it fits well with the objective of holding out for 30 seconds. I never actually beat the game, though, because I couldn't rotate fast enough to hold off the waves even when I could see them! Other than balancing the difficulty a bit, I don't think there's really anything I'd change!
Congrats on completing the jam!
I really like this game! The concept is super unique and in particular the art style is really cohesive and appealing. I found the controls a little difficult, and was only able to block a falling sword like 1/5 of the time. I think polishing that up a bit would do wonders for the game!
Congrats on completing the jam and thank you for sharing!
Absolutely fantastic game! On all fronts, this game knocks it out of the park * Fun: The controls are a blast and super easy to pick up (albeit difficult on my trackpad but that's not your fault  ) * Innovation: Tons of cool and unexpected elements here. I was shocked and delighted to see that lightning not only killed wolves, but also started brush fires and lit your sheep as well. By the end of the game my entire field was ablaze * Theme: Great take * Graphics: Cute 3D models consistent with the 2D art on the title screen and on the background of your entry page. Hard to believe this was all done in one jam * Audio, Humor, Mood: Upbeat barnyard music juxtaposed with the bleating of your panicked flaming sheep running around is hilarious and perfect
Congrats on completing such an awesome game and thank you for sharing!
Great game! Flying around and plowing through the walls was pretty entertaining!
* The music and sound effects were awesome and really contributed to the game * Nice pixel art * The mechanics of holding the mouse to pick up things/fly and releasing the mouse to drop them was fun and unique
* The direction on how to lay an egg appearing over the dragon's head was perfect. I wish more of the directions were presented in-game * The player's stats could be more evident. I saw those bars at the top left but they weren't super clear
Congrats on finishing a game and thank you for sharing!
I loved this game! It reminded me a lot of Super Meat Boy. It was a challenging platformer, but it was never frustrating. I loved the mechanics with Phil the fish, although it would have been really cool to see how throwing him could have played a part in solving some of the obstacles. The music was my favorite part. It was such a good song and it never got old. Awesome job and congrats on completing the jam!
Nice game! Given the title, I figured this must be a sequel, so I checked your game history. I love the dedication to the Jeffers saga, haha :)
* Great sprites. The main character has a ton of personality * Fun dungeon defense concept
* The gameplay felt a little grindy to me. Maybe you could use different attacks or add a skill and/or puzzle element to it? * Your sound effects were hilarious, but I got a little creeped out by all the grunts and "that's the sausage" being whispered in my ear
Congrats on completing a game and thank you for sharing!
Excellent game! I thought it was really innovative to have the world tilt to make the Ice Baby slide, and each level got more challenging as it goes on. I would love to hear some music or sound effects! Overall, a wonderful game. Thank you for sharing and congrats on completing the jam!
Wow, really nice game! I'm a big fan of puzzle games like this, and you executed it super well.
* Unique, engaging concept * Impressive number of levels * Great pixel art and music * Fits the theme * Fun and challenging puzzles that increase in difficulty
* A little more instruction would be nice; it took me a long time to figure out how the enemy movement worked * Controls and movement felt a bit rough in my opinion, especially the holding space to do a long jump. It was hard to judge the slime's hitbox when I was trying to just barely touch a platform or avoid an enemy, so I died a lot!
Awesome job on completing a game and thank you for sharing!
*(Confused expression intensified)... Your mic is muted*
What an amazing game! Seriously, this is one of my favorite entires yet...possibly even out of any Ludum Dare! The gameplay is super fun. It's a race-against-the-clock resource management game, but with the unique twist of adding on a speed typing component as well. I had so much fun playing it!
Additionally, the theme is quite timely and executed well. The conversation snippets are hilarious and relatable to those of us who have been enduring conference calls these past months. The sprites are charming. The only factor that I think could be improved is some added music!
Congratulations to all of you for completing a great game and thank you for sharing!
Truly fantastic game! It was such a unique concept, and you pulled it off very well. The audio was especially impressive. Personally, I found it to be a bit difficult, so maybe it would have been helpful to have checkpoints or the ability to change your difficulty level. But all in all, it was incredible. Congrats on completing the jam and thank you for sharing!
Very clever game! The art and music are brilliant, and I love the evolution of the dinosaurs' headgear over time. The only thing I might have changed is the controls were a bit unintuitive to me. Since clicking on a destination moved *all of* the dinosaurs, it was difficult to actually dodge asteroids. I think if there was some way to control just one dinosaur at a time it would have made playing feel a lot more active and less chance-based! But all in all, really wonderful game. Congrats on completing the jam and thank you so much for sharing!
I love clever typing games, so this one was a blast. I loved the mechanics of the text corrupting over time. It would be really neat if you come up with more cool glitches!
Very creative and fun game! I loved the unique concept and your take on the theme. The graphics and sound were appealing, although I found it a little hard to see my character since the screen-wthin-the-screen was quite small. :) The gameplay is fluid, easy to pick up, and fun. I agree with some of the other comments here that the difficulty curve could be a little more balanced; it was pretty slow for the first 80% of the game and then I was overheated within like 20 seconds.
But all in all, I really loved this entry! Congrats on completing a game and thank you so much for sharing!
Nice game! My favorite part is the artwork. You really nailed that old Gameboy look, if that's what you were going for. :) Your take on the theme is great, but I think the game could have benefitted from some more instruction. I gathered that I needed to put the plant in front of the water, but then it started dying and I couldn't figure out where to put it. I think there's a lot of potential here if you clarify that, maybe even just in your entry description!
Congrats on completing the jam, and thank you for sharing!
@krapht Sorry to hear that! Was the piece giving you a highlighted preview of where it was supposed to land, or was it just blank? Maybe there's a bug in there. Thanks so much for playing!
Very clever concept, and the gameplay was surprisingly fresh for a game about while loops
I loved all the little details, like the flavortext commands being executed -- "Hiding Easter Eggs" -- complete with typing sound effects, and all the random changes happening during each for loop.
Awesome job!
Hmm, the Mac build doesn't work for me. It is just saying 'The application “MouseWheel” can’t be opened.' Wish I could play!
Nice game! It would have been really cool if your bombs could blow up the barriers!
Wow, what an incredible game! The mechanics were fresh and fun, the puzzles got increasingly more difficult and it all felt so polished. Thank you for sharing!
You've nailed the atmosphere of life in quarantine with this game! I like the music and the smooth transitions between day and night. The graphics are great as well!
A little more direction would have been helpful. I know that was kinda the theme of the game -- just like life, you gotta find your own purpose -- but for a game some instructions are nice! :)
Awesome job!
Really fun and unique concept! I couldn't make it past the second level -- I kept running out of moves! Maybe a difficulty setting would be good. :)
But awesome job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback so far! We really appreciate your suggestions and would love to incorporate them in a post-jam release of the game.
I wanted to reply to a couple of notes directly: - @notinatal @dkmk100 thanks for pointing out the bug where the player could run through mom! I've patched this issue and a few other broken things that snuck in during the final sleep-deprived hours of the jam. See the entry description for full patch notes! - @starship-captain-becca to your question about not being able to place any more forts, could it be because you've run out of blankets and pillows? During the evade phase, you can hold space to mine gems which can be traded for more building materials in later build phases.
Really awesome concept and execution, nice work!
I'm a Terrasite! This game was a **ton** of fun to play. There was a slow difficulty ramp that got really tough after awhile. Everything felt very polished, from the art to the music to the gameplay. As one suggestion, some more notice to the player that the bases were getting destroyed would be nice. I didn't realize that was possible until I rotated back around the world to find a bunch of my stuff gone haha.
Congrats on completing an awesome entry!
Great job! The visuals are stunning. I really enjoyed all the layers in the background and how each scene had a different theme.
The platform drawing mechanic was a lot of fun to play with as well, although I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to take it. Maybe there could be a hint in-game?
Congrats on completing an awesome jam entry!
Awesome job! I really enjoyed the art and the music in this game. They worked together to create an effective atmosphere. The gameplay was challenging and reminded me of Binding of Isaac.
One thing I noticed -- the title screen says "Untitled jam game." Is that intentional?
This game is absolutely fantastic. First off, I **love** the idea of a local co-op jam game. I played solo, and that was super challenging in a very fun way. There were a couple of those "ah-ha" moments that are very rewarding in puzzle games like this when I realized where the passwords came from and how to click the buttons to delay the destruction.
All in all, I really admire the innovation on multiple fronts here. The music and art gave were nice complements as well to a very polished game. Awesome job!
Honestly a perfect little puzzle game, in my opinion! The puzzle mechanic was innovative but also the difficulty curve of your levels was gradual enough to make it feel intuitive. I enjoyed the flood theme, and the combination of the text, music, and art all combined to create a really artistic experience.
I'm blown away that you made this all for the **compo**! Congrats on an awesome entry, would love to see if you take it further.
I loved playing this game! It feels very polished. Little things like screen-shake and the various difficulty modes and power-ups all work together to give the game a lot of depth.
The game is just fun. It had me coming back for multiple rounds. Congrats on completing an awesome jam entry!
Wow, what an awesome concept that you implemented quite well! I really enjoyed seeing the spirits of other players in the game -- async multiplayer isn't something I'd ever considered, but it was very neat. If you keep working on this game (I hope you do) it might be interesting to explore other ways players might influence each other, such as dropping helpful supplies or activating effects.
Congrats on completing an awesome entry!
Great job! I appreciate the thought that went into selecting the various mini-puzzles to represent the different pillars. This was a solid puzzle game with some thought-provoking themes as well.
One suggestion, an undo button would be nice so I don't have to restart the whole level when I push a block too far. (I'm reminded of the puzzle game Baba is You, which has a similar undo feature.)
Congrats on an awesome jam entry!
Super fun game and hilarious voice acting! I would have loved to see other elements start to enter the room over time, such as different types of goo or other obstacles. Might be something to consider if you make a post-jam version of this game. Congrats on completing an awesome entry!
Very interesting concept! I've never played a folder-based game like this before, but as soon as it told me to start renaming things and moving them around everything really clicked. Very cool alternative to the code-based games normally seen on LD. Congrats on completing an awesome entry!
Very beautiful atmosphere driven by the art, music, and story. As someone who has lost his father, this entry really resonated with me unlike any other. I admire your effort to tackle serious themes in a game jam, you did a great job.
This game is just beautiful. The music really sets the mood, and then the cool 3D-esque rotating column pixel art is truly ingenious. I'm a bit disappointed that I can't make it further into the game, there appears to be a crash or freeze on the WebGL version when the worm kills me which requires me to refresh and go back through the intro splash every time.
That one issue aside though, this really is an awesome entry and I would love to play an expanded version of it. Congrats on completing the jam!
@matterlinx sure thing! I'm on MacOS 10.15.6, playing on Chrome 99.0.4844.74
This game is really charming and a lot of fun to play! I love how over-the-top the rover's tricks are -- and that the AI rovers do them too! :D Congrats on an awesome compo entry!
Fun and challenging arcade-style game! I really appreciated the tutorial, as that's something a lot of LD games leave out. If you do keep working on it, maybe consider tweaking the physics a bit so it's not so hard to control where you jump. I found myself dying very frequently when I tried to catch the green crosses.
Congrats on completing an awesome entry!
This is a really neat concept for a game! I liked the exploration element, and the art+music were just beautiful. One suggestion if you were to keep building on this game, it'd be nice to see how many 'fun points' each activity gives you. It seemed like the ball bouncing one extended my time a bit, but I couldn't tell if soccer did. Congrats on completing an awesome entry, nice job!
Beautiful game! The music and art were very nice. The storytelling was also great--I loved the hints that there was a vast and mysterious world beyond this island. It all captured a sense of wonder that's really impressive for any game, let alone a compo entry. Awesome job!
This game hooked me for a long time! I love the puzzle design with the orbits, it's super fresh and fun to play. The music and art are great as well. The only change I'd suggest is checkpoints along the way - it was pretty tough to go back to the beginning every time I lost (which was a lot haha). Awesome job!
Wow, this is a really fun and unique mechanic! I like the challenge of trying to block the enemies and how it gets more difficult as you collect more eggs. I didn't realize you could defend against the enemies until I read another comment here, so one thing you might consider adding if you want to work on this game more is a tutorial! Nice job :)
Awesome game! You really captured the style of the classic Oregon Trail quite well. (I chuckled at your comment in the description about the square-wave music, it was a bit gnarly haha)
Fun gameplay! The rounds are short enough that I kept wanting to retry and beat my score. Nice job!
The gameplay is really fun! I love this take on the theme, and the comments that popped up every so often had me cracking up. Nice music and art as well!
I love the hectic ship battle scene! The art, music, sound effects, and explosions all combine really well to drive the action. The gameplay is fun and easy to pick up as well. Great job!
The visuals are really awesome! I like the concept of plotting routes around this fantasy land. I found it a little challenging to figure out where to go around the map, it would be cool to have some kind of visual indication. :)
This is a great game! The music is great and really adds to the atmosphere of the game. The gameplay is a lot of fun too -- I love the quick rounds that make you want to just keep retrying.
Awesome job doing all of this in a compo! The city looks great and it's fun to drive around. The only things I might suggest for the future are decreasing the turn radius to make it a bit easier to steer and also I noticed my money went back down to zero after every round--not sure if that's intentional but I was hoping to save up for some upgrades :)
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I love the subtle animation of the guy leaning on the bike when you turn. Great touch!
Very cool game. You told a really compelling story through a fun and unique experience. I've never felt so creeped out by emails before. Awesome job!
Fun little game! The audio is catchy and you nailed the retro style. I like the take on the theme about delivering baby sheep. I think it would help make the gameplay feel more innovative if you emphasized the sheep number-matching/breeding mechanic. There could probably be some fun strategy elements there.
Awesome job on completing the compo!
Such a fun and polished puzzle game! The music and graphics were really charming. Amazing work!
Very tough, but a lot of fun to play and a great original concept!
This game is incredible! I love the concept of managing a courier guild and having to deliver packages in treacherous fantasy situations. It's a lot of fun to play (although a bit easy, but totally understandable for a jam entry)! The music, art, and writing are all fantastic. Great work!
This game is a blast to play! I love the crazy physics from getting pulled across the map by my own punch and you've built some clever puzzles with it. I'm impressed by how polished this entry feels, between the excellent music/sfx and the little things like camera shake. Great job!
Really fun and polished game with a unique puzzle mechanic! Awesome job.
I really like the Aztec-type art style! It feels like some kind of mystical board game. I always love to see jam games that come up with an innovative new puzzle. I found it a bit tough to figure out the rules, but I think if you added some sort of in-game tutorial it would make it easier. Nice job!
Very cool concept! The map and visuals are excellent. I got tripped up at times trying to set a route for my deliveries, but there's an impressive amount of gameplay here. Awesome job!
Very impressive amount of content for the compo, awesome job! Fun deckbuilding game.
This is a very unique and cool game! The dialog, art, and music all combined to make a creepy and immersive aesthetic. I had a great time playing it. Awesome job!
Very beautiful, relaxing game! I really like the tranquil atmosphere and your take on the theme is clever as well. I found the difficulty ramped up pretty quick after a couple of minutes. I feel like this mechanic would be especially suited for a touch-screen interface!
Great game! The gameplay is a lot of fun and has great replayability. The graphics are very sleek. It wasn't super clear to me what the different items/zones I could run into were doing, so I might suggest adding a label or something in-game to make that clearer if you wanted to keep working on this game. Awesome job and thanks for sharing!
This game was a ton of fun to play through! I'm always impressed to see a compo entry with all the polish and excellent puzzle design as you've done here. The difficulty curve ramped up gradually enough where I never felt totally lost, but there was still a few times I had to think it out and then have those eureka moments.
My one critique is the on-screen control icons seemed to be for a controller, so they weren't too helpful to me since I used a keyboard. I had to keep checking the game description for my controls, which took me out of the experience a bit. Not sure if it would be simple to check the player's input device and show a different UI accordingly, but that's one idea to make it even more seamless.
Awesome job with this game and thanks for sharing it!
Very calming and pretty game. The music and art really add to the atmosphere. The gameplay is pretty intuitive to pick up as well. If you wanted to develop it further, it would be awesome to be able to deploy powerups or something to make it easier to hit the money in the sky (I missed just about every time haha). Great job!
Would love to play this! The page becomes unresponsive for me when I go to the itch.io link.
@dprings7 The page hangs as soon as I load the itch page, before I can click on anything. I'm running Chrome on a Mac in case its browser or OS-specific.
I'm getting a 404 at that itch.io link.
This is a really fun and charming game. The story was lovely and had me hooked until the end. The gameplay was relaxing as well.
The gameplay is a fun twist on the classic snake-style game, I like it! The graphics are very nice as well. Great job!
Great game! I'm especially impressed by how much quality music there is for a compo entry. Really enjoyed the unique concept as well.
Very cool puzzle mechanic! It took me a bit to figure out but then it was pretty intuitive. Awesome job!
Really fun platformer with some innovative mechanics! The race stage was especially challenging but a blast to play. Nice job!!
The graphics are really cool! It was fun to explore the world, even if there aren't many things to do yet. If you make a post-jam version I would love to play it!
The music, art, and dialogue for this game are all incredible! Feels like a retro Papers Please. I would've loved to see a bit more feedback in response to my actions. I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do with the slips, so I eventually just started pressing next and let the money pile up. I hope you keep working on this game after the jam, I'd love to see where it goes!
I really like the mechanic of your light source being an NPC that you have to protect, great job!
Really great visuals and unique gameplay, nice job!
Nice job! That was a lot of fun
I love how different enemies show up as you progress farther in the game, really keeps it interesting!
@Potti You were so close! In order to use the secret command, you must have 30 seconds or less remaining in the last song with crowd hype at 100%.
Clever entry.
I love a well-timed rhythm game! The added notes on top of the backing track gave it a really bouncy, fun feel. I thought the four emoji choices were hilarious as well.
I think this game could benefit from a score counter, or a more obvious objective. I didn't know which direction I was supposed to press when I could send emojis, so I just sort of guessed random ones until I won.
Other than that though, great game!
Nice work! I found it a bit difficult to figure out what to do at first, so some more clear instruction would be helpful. Fun and unique concept though!
Fantastic game! The terminal was designed beautifully, and the keypress sound effects were really sweet. I think the concept was really unique as well. My only suggestion is to find some way to reduce the amount of times the player connects to an IP they can't unlock. Maybe on the "list" command it could show each lock type next to the IP? Or it might to be fun to come up with a subtle clue, like IPs starting with two numbers are Beta, etc. Great job though!
Hahaha I took a screenshot of the "You Win" screen. Really great game! I especially loved the voice tutorial, the art, and the music.
Nice job! I really love the idea and the art. I found myself with no possible good matches several times, and was forced to match bad things until I lost! So watch out for that.
Otherwise, I think this could just benefit from sound effects a little reactions by the character when you match things. Great game!
Great idea and executed well. This is one of those games that I could play for hours if I let myself!
I always love games that provide a new twist on the classics. :)
I liked this entry a lot. I thought the idea was creative, and the execution was done very well. The music and art style really gave it this 80's retro vibe, which I think is what you were going for.
I don't particularly have any suggestions. At one point, pressing down caused the blocks to fall incredibly fast to the bottom, which was really bad for me! I'm not sure if that's a bug or an intended feature, but either way you may want to address it somehow.
Great work!!
I like the unique idea! I couldn't figure out how to match the tiles, though. Do the three tiles all have to be in a line, or can they just be touching? There were no lines of three tiles on my board, so I'm not sure if I was playing correctly. Nice artwork though!
I Won!
Really great game, guys! You should be proud.
I found the gameplay fun and challenging, but not frustrating. The art was excellent as well!
My biggest suggestions are: First, adjust the rhythm notes to actually fall in time with the backing track. It's a subtle change you can make that will make the ambiance of the game flow a lot better. Second, the 'r' 'g' and 'b' keys are in an odd position on the keyboard, and it was difficult for me to press them all at once. I recommend you adjust the keys to be three keys in a row, such as 'a' 's' 'd' or the 'left' 'down' 'right' arrow keys.
Congrats on your first game jam!
In regards to your question posted above, you CAN still port it to WebGL. According to the rules: "Porting (especially to Web or Windows) can happen after the initial 48 hours."
I really enjoyed your game! The movement felt very smooth, the music was atmospheric, it all just felt very unique and cool! My only suggestion is to think about player convenience when developing controls. For example, "f+j" is much harder to type on the keyboard than just "fj".
Great work!!
Great idea, awesome game! I liked all the different paths you could take. My only suggestion is more types of enemies/weapons to add some variety. Nice job!
Awesome entry! I loved the gameplay, the art style, and the music. I like how it steadily gets more difficult over time, too.
Great idea! I liked the combination of trivia games and turn-based fighting. It seems like you packed a ton of content into this game over just one weekend, so kudos to you!
Some fast-paced battle music would really complete the atmosphere, I think!
Ha! Funny idea. I liked the descriptions on the tiles.
Very unique concept! It took me a minute to get the hang of the controls, but eventually I think I found a way to be unbeatable. It might be fun to add some combo moves or different enemies in the future. Great job!
Very very impressive! Awesome job!
I liked how each battle was a minigame from a different genre. (Although the bullet one was really hard!)
I played all the way to the end. Great game!
