Sounds are hilarious x), cool game!
Nice game! Given the title, I figured this must be a sequel, so I checked your game history. I love the dedication to the Jeffers saga, haha :)
* Great sprites. The main character has a ton of personality * Fun dungeon defense concept
* The gameplay felt a little grindy to me. Maybe you could use different attacks or add a skill and/or puzzle element to it? * Your sound effects were hilarious, but I got a little creeped out by all the grunts and "that's the sausage" being whispered in my ear
Congrats on completing a game and thank you for sharing!
I love the art and audio lol.
The game was way too big for my screen, had to zoom out my browser a lot. The plain text UI all over the screen was a bit hard to parse. I'm not really sure how to have an impact on the keep it alive mechanics?
Sorry to hear about your job, good luck in the future!
@willjardine @gagouman Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@joe-cowman Thanks for the advice and playing! I got in a bit over my head on this jam, realised I didn't have enough time to flesh out a lot of the mechanics so had to ship it with some things I wish I'd done more with. @niborious Thanks for playing. I hear you on those points, ran out of time so had to just get it published without attempting to make the UX a bit better.
I'm not sure what that was. In terms of gameplay, it was a bit bland, it would be nice if you could you use an ability or something, or if there was some variety other than standing at the door punching the same guy walking through over and over. Graphics were good, sound was alright, though there was something off about it... Perhaps it was the man whispering "That's the sausage!" in my ear all the time? Either way this was a very surreal experience that just needed a bit more interaction gameplay wise.
Sausaged many times xD Like the graphics!
Jeffers is adorable and I wish I could keep him alive longer! I pushed my health all the way up to 150 but the dragon still killed me at the end lol. Is there a way to replenish Jeffer's health? The third or fourth baddie always kills me if I start with 10 health.
@balgorode Haha, thanks for playing. It was definitely lacking in the gameplay area, it ended up being more of a learning how to code a turn-based system than a game in the end. I wanted to add a lot more, but ran out of time. @lucidus Thanks for playing and the kind words.
@cheesepencil Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I didn't get to playtest it at all :( The only way to get stronger is to gain levels and increase power, which is very random. Health is a +10 in some level ups, should have replenished though and returning items gets you +3 hp. Really would have liked to be able to give it more playtesting time though.
omg i got sausaged
"got sausaged" made my day (night) - funny game, i enjoyed it :) good job
Awesome compo entry! I really want to see that boss but I think I end up dying too much past the first level, but really dig the graphics and sound effects!
Cool characters! I miss animations. They would make more... live/feel in the game. Cool that a player can set hp. I like modifing the game.
Too much sausage! Fun take on roguelikes. Or is it porkuelikes?
Fun game. I think I found a bug where if you kill enemies and they die in front of the door, you can't feed the fire and regenerate health. I found the game a little spammy as you just keep pressing the same button over and over again to attack. Cute graphics and although there was effort put into sound effects, they were strange to have. Overall good job!
The sounds are definitely the highlight. The roguelike gameplay feels very basic though, and it's not very easy to regain health.
I love Jeffers! Nice character design. It took me a while to understand that it was the same animation for hitting and being hit. I like that I can choose between strengthening and levelling up.
Funny little game ! It sure feel grindy, but as you lacked of time it's okay.
Good job !
