LD42 — Running out of space

Delivery Boi by JCMonkey 2018-08-13T00:20:11Z

Fun game, good global experience and love the voice acting!

Overgrowth by gagouman 2018-08-13T02:27:52Z

@fussenkuh Thanks! It was quite a challenge to finish in 48 hours, especially the balance of the game which took a long time, I barely had enough time to implement the policies. This explains why the audio and graphics have been way less worked on.

To everyone that commented , thank you! I will check all your games tonight/tomorrow, and for those who couldn't finish the game, I've added a strategy guide, don't hesitate to have another crack at it!

Overgrowth by gagouman 2018-08-13T02:34:06Z

@squirmonkey Thanks for playing! I agree the dollar signs could have been bigger, I've noticed they sometime have a tendency to spawn on top of the continent icons too which can be quite annoying.

I just took a sneak peek at your game, and it looks really in depth, will definitely give it a try tomorrow!

Space Billiards by mshopf 2018-08-13T00:59:33Z

Game is hilarious, my computer was chugging at the amount of sprites when the planet explodes. Great work!

Running Out of Space! by ArtemFTW 2018-08-13T00:07:45Z

Really like the aesthetic and music! Do you mind me asking what did you use to make the music?

Shrinking Out by SoyerTek 2018-08-13T00:02:40Z

Fun little project for a first try at Ludum Dare! An easy fix I would have changed is maybe open up the screen more when items are collected.

Desktop Clout! by James Shipp 2018-08-13T00:45:53Z

Good twist at the theme! Didn't know what "Online Services" meant on my first run and quickly ran out of storage. If I could think of one critic is the game is a little bit slow paced, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Fade Out by karpopper 2018-08-13T02:09:07Z

Really fun concept, really challenging when reaching further levels. Love the soundtrack!

Geometry Merge by M8rix 2018-08-13T02:17:15Z

Fun twist at the theme, love the simple concept and well designed graphics. The only thing that would have add to the game would have been a background music track. Great work!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Cloud Boy by JCMonkey 2019-10-07T03:02:42Z

Neat concept and art style, love the cloud sound effect!

All Aboard ! Thousand portholes by afendar 2019-10-23T01:44:32Z

Nice art, a few collisions bugs that prevented from getting to the item though. A little more information on how we can attack the enemies would have been useful!

No.thing by adliberum 2019-10-07T01:38:45Z

Nice twist on the theme, minimalist but quite fun to play!

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T01:27:05Z

@nachtwitch Thank you! Having a 2d engine that already handles most of the physics for jumping/collisions with solid objects helped a ton, but not gonna lie it took me at least 3-4 hours to work on the grapple alone

On the more technical side, the grapple basically deactivate gravity and simulates the player as a bullet until it hits a solid object, once the player hits the button again, it reactivates gravity and normal physics.

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T01:27:37Z

@adliberum Thanks for playing!!

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T02:00:33Z

@cooperjknapp Awesome! Thank you!

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T02:26:10Z

@diaonic Thanks for your feedback, I thought about the shortcuts but wasn't sure if it would remove the utility of the console, definitely something I would have done on a longer game!

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T12:03:03Z

@tacokhun Absolutely, the only checkpoint is when starting lvl 2, but adding more checkpoints in the levels or adding shortcuts after the first time typed would have been a nice option .

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-07T15:13:02Z

@hcursino Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Robomata by gagouman 2019-10-08T02:08:33Z

@adrupen Thank you!

Come to your senses by MarkoPoloDev 2019-10-07T02:21:38Z

Really cool little game, loved the aesthetic and the music is really enjoyable, had a fun playthrough!

Vaahtera by wie_ 2019-10-06T23:41:54Z

Love the aesthetic and the ability to zoom in/zoom out, the music is great too, really soothing!

Took me a couple of times reading the tutorial to understand the concepts, but got good once I got going. It would be nice to incorporate a score to see how tall the tree was or how many days we manage to survive also the game doesn't seem to end for me and water goes in the negative, other than that great work!

Adventurs of a box by Animo Tree 2019-10-07T02:23:13Z

Seems like it's not uploaded, don't forget to set as public on itch.io!

Whacker of Thy Weeds by Fezezen 2019-10-06T23:23:31Z

Fun little game, perfect mood for this time of year  . UI could be improved a little bit, but the graphics are nicely done and I had fun playing.

start with nothing by xart2012 2019-10-07T02:33:58Z

Interesting utilization of the theme  !

JO-KEN-DO! by Hcursino 2019-10-07T12:13:48Z

Loved the humor and genre!

Word Salad by philliptrudeau 2019-10-07T02:30:28Z

Fun game, really hard but had fun playing, impressive for something done from scratch!

WEAVE-SNATCHING SIMULATOR by S a m 2019-10-07T01:44:59Z

Good first game!

Ghosts And Bombs by Lomt1k 2019-10-07T02:38:31Z

Big up for the random generation of the terrain, music becomes a bit annoying after a while though  !

Priest of RAGE by TheVideoGamester 2019-10-07T02:56:25Z

Cool concept, like others have mentioned though, it does feel grindy after a little while. Maybe lowering the cost of the upgrades or packaging increasing the changes one upgrade make would have helped!

The Desert of Nothingness by Douwe_Ravers 2019-10-07T16:17:37Z

Very well done for a first try! Like mentioned before the plant selling option is a bit confusing as I didn't know how I could make money at first. Other than that great execution.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Sharkbait by Jimbly 2020-04-21T03:50:41Z

Cool concept and very moody, I actually quite liked your soundtrack despite what you said. The progression is good, but the novelty wears off ater a while, I would've liked to see the other enemies earlier in game. Really good entry!

The Living Blob by dob 2020-04-21T03:42:37Z

Fun puzzle game, gets really difficult after a few levels!

The Gentleman by micahlg 2020-04-21T03:12:26Z

Really great game, I loved the music and sound effects localization that you have. Insane amount of polish for a game made in 48 hours an quite fun to play!

Machine and Nature by MoonAgent 2020-04-21T03:17:47Z

I really liked the pillar mechanic, there seemed to be a little bug where I could only control one arm at times, but overall really nice concept, good job!

LD Jam 46 Keep It Alive by brandann 2020-04-21T04:02:52Z

Like you mentioned, really hard game! Enjoyed it quite a lot, fits the theme and has a nice soundtrack. I think making the enemy take damage when hitting the lasers could`ve make the game a lot easier!

Lightest Dungeon by gagouman 2020-04-20T04:27:25Z

@micahlg Thanks for the kind words! I noticed there was a UI problem with different aspect ratios than 16:9, I uploaded an update so that now there will be black bars around, but at least all the UI is visible!

Lightest Dungeon by gagouman 2020-04-21T03:55:34Z

@itskdog Thanks for the feedback, definitely something I would've liked to add! :)

Lightest Dungeon by gagouman 2020-04-21T03:56:55Z

@liam-binford Thank you for trying it out!

Lightest Dungeon by gagouman 2020-04-21T03:57:28Z

@tomeks Thanks!

Lightest Dungeon by gagouman 2020-04-21T04:00:09Z

@brenno263 Thanks for trying it out, I had other people make the same comment to me as well, the logic is correct, but is not explained to the player correctly. The risk means the risk of having one of your heroes die, so if you select a second hero that is really exhausted to go on the quest, the risk of that hero dying is high, hence why it's showing a higher risk with 2 instead of 1! :)

LD46: The Lighthouse at the End of the Universe by LMB 2020-04-21T02:51:30Z

Fun little game, easy to understand the concepts and to play, nice work!

Servant Snake by C1FR1 2020-04-21T02:57:03Z

Nice twist on a classic genre, really efficient tutorial as well, would have loved some background music!

Run, Trinki, Run! by HomoLudens 2020-04-21T04:09:00Z

Loved the slow-motion and the little tombstones that appears to cheese you on your next run! The simple yet effective artwork and sounds fits the game perfectly. Would play definitely see this getting played on mobile!

Jeffers Strikes Back by Furtive Pygmy 2020-04-21T04:42:08Z

Sounds are hilarious x), cool game!

Sunset Boule-ward by Decappoolla 2020-04-21T04:16:51Z

Went in not expecting anything, played the whole thing feeling moved, wow! Great work, loved the walk, artwork and minimal and effective soundtrack.

Floyd's Fire by BinaryPrinciple 2020-04-21T03:27:24Z

Loved the ambiance and mood, seemed really polished. A nice little soundtrack and another reason to fight the ghosts would have been nice, I ended up not fighting them most of the time. Overall great submission!

Stoke The Flame by indieaustin 2020-04-21T04:39:17Z

I loved the artwork, I think having the axe on when the mouse button is pushed instead of a toggle might have ben better usability and also I think increasing the rate the fire decreases and the spawn rate of trees would have make the game higher pace and challenging. Overall great entry!

Rock. The Game. by jaschez 2020-04-21T04:21:27Z

Very funny idea, graphics and sound are polished and gameplay is simple to understand and effective. Great game!

Sabotage Body Gaurd by Angelo Saez 2020-04-21T04:26:32Z

Nice little game, loved the aesthetic and gameplay. A few other monsters with different attacks and sound would have been nice, overall great entry!

pestilentia by ATTX 2020-04-21T03:07:06Z

Fun idea and nice retro graphics, I enjoyed making the players spinning real fast!

LD54 — Limited Space

Door Slammers by gagouman 2023-10-03T03:59:23Z

@kepsert Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Though I Walk by AdamCYounis 2023-10-02T21:20:06Z

Very fun and well-made game! Love the aesthetics and very impressive for being made in only 48 hours. I had to get used to the controls, but once I got it it was pretty smooth sailing.

If I had some constructive criticism to give, I don't know if it was a design choice, but the fact that the platform sometime "slid" under the player when controlling the soul was a bit confusing and frustrating to me, and I would have preferred otherwise. I also encountered a small bug when trying to go backwards (fell from the level). Other than that great job!

Earth Invades (First Godot Game) by MadR 2023-10-03T21:08:29Z

Great aesthetics, this is very well made and far from being a mediocre game! Remembered me a little bit of geometry dash at first, would have loved for it to be longer!
