Dude i saw your post "innovation meets graphical excellence" and nearly pissed myself laughing! Although i think you are a bit too self-critical. I think you did a good job with your game and i also like your aesthetics. Reminds me a lot of the days of old game boy games. In the second level the upper arrow key does not work, i just switched to WASD. Well done!

@2thegamechanger Thanks for the feedback! Will check the arrow problem after work.

The game play was a bit basic but the aesthetics are excellent. Also the sfx from moving up in the first level only playes in one ear unlike every other sound in the game. Also maybe start the first level with a wide open space so the player has a chance to get use to moving before encountering any obstetricals.

That's not a mediocre game that's a perfectly scoped game, well done! The second level felt kind of trippy with the stars zooming in and out, i liked it 👍

I like the short play. Although it was easy, it was still very enjoyable! Artstyle is nice music and sound effects could be better!

greenphox 2023-10-02 13:52

Simple short and honest game. Nice.

That's a really nice game you made pal. it was a lot more enjoyable than i thought it would be. nice music and art. one thing that bothered a bit was the tinyy bullet size. also liked how u had to clear that passage level to fight earth. well implemeneted! good job!

Really fun game! Not the most innovative thing in the world, but sometimes simpler is better. This was very no-nonsense, and I was very happy to never be confused as to what I should be doing (which is a common problem in Jam games). Very well done!

At first I didn't realize that I can shoot. So I headbutted the Earth and the Earth rolled off the screen. It was fun, would do it again.

madr 2023-10-02 20:52

@dhargan I might have left an unnecessary colider on earth, wouldn't do it again :D

hermetix 2023-10-03 21:03

Cool and simple game mechanic, like space flappy bird with health. Well done!

smitner 2023-10-03 21:06

The monochrome graphics are a win! Nice job

gagouman 2023-10-03 21:08

Great aesthetics, this is very well made and far from being a mediocre game! Remembered me a little bit of geometry dash at first, would have loved for it to be longer!

atlasflame 2023-10-03 21:12

It's a fun little trip through space and I am rather fond of the art style, but with the goal being to conquer and invade Earth, I have to ask, are we the baddies?

wisstopher 2023-10-03 21:19

For your first game in a new engine it was a solid piece of work, you should stick with Godot if this was your first go. I'd be looking forward to what you produce in the future. As you said the game is simple but that doesn't stop it being enjoyable, had a good time with this entry. Would have been nice to see this expanded in the levels and have more variation but since it was a first attempt in a new engine I can't moan too much. Great work!

passbykamenrider 2023-10-04 21:49

Nice little game! Love the art and sfx. For the first level I always lose hp in the beginning, maybe need to fix the start position? Overall great job, I enjoyed the game a lot!

nick-rafalski 2023-10-05 00:47

This was just a great well executed game! The controls are tight and the 2 different modes are impressive. I liked how, in the second part, I could aim the laser with the mouse, instead of just shooting straight. Is this the most innovative game of all time? no, but for what it is, it was done well!

magnanix 2023-10-05 06:37

The Earth has been conquered! Nice work, learning new engines is always fun, Godot is awesome :D!

jens-g 2023-10-05 09:57

I like the simple retro style and the concept of earth as a boss battle. Would have been cool if you had combined the modes of movement from the first section with the second to tie it together a bit and make it more unique.

Pretty cool for a little game with small scope. I actually like it, and enjoyed the it. GG for the entry.
