Cool concept to make the water the "bad guy"

Nice game! I like the art a lot. I found it pretty hard to find trees though, their spawn rate seems a little low.

This was really fun (kinda similar to my entry). I loved the resource collecting/combat mechanics working together without even needing to press a key. I think it would have benefited from some sound effects and music, but also adding a sprint function to help move the game along a little more because early on it is really slow. Aside from that, really cool little game!

I loved the artwork, I think having the axe on when the mouse button is pushed instead of a toggle might have ben better usability and also I think increasing the rate the fire decreases and the spawn rate of trees would have make the game higher pace and challenging. Overall great entry!

Where am I supposed to chop trees? Couldn't find it in gameplay. Missed a game menu and some music

Nice atmosphere! Maybe you could add some landmarks to the map, so it's more interesting to navigate. Nice job!

Cool concept. I think the fire stopped dying after about a minute of play. Perhaps a bug? Also, the axe controls felt odd, is it a toggle that triggers axing for a few seconds? I felt like I wanted every axe to be a click, or alternatively every click will turn the axing on and off. But why would I ever not be axing?

Neat take on the theme, def enjoyed finding the scarce trees lol

A nice concept and some great sprites! The hopping drops of water were cute and it was very obvious what their purpose was (a good design decision)!

I think the game would have benefited from some more spawn locations for trees as I struggled to find any to begin. When I eventually found a tree I kept going to the same location, which removed the panicked feeling I had at the start of the game. With a few balance tweaks like a faster burnout time for the fire and more tree spawnpoints this could be really addictive! I'd love to see you take the game further and add new content, great job!

This is a pretty neat little game. I like that it's pretty easy to just play without needing to know much. I know others have said this but I did feel the spawn rate for trees seemed a little slow. It could benefit by showing where they are on the mini map. Otherwise, great job!!

Made it to 32, decent game, but dots are hard to see on web player, also it would be nice to only put in wood when I choose to.

A surprisingly soothing game to play, even though it gets hectic trying to keep the fire alive. Maybe because the environment lighting gave a very chill vibe. Great one!

Interesting premise and great graphics. It would have been awesome to see some more animation incorporated into other character action such as picking up the wood, getting rid of the water droplets and dropping wood into the fire, but I can understand time is short! Great stuff overall. Well done.

A nice compo entry! The graphics look really good. It could use some sounds and atmospheric music, but even without them it plays well. I've had a few issues, though: - The player moves too slow, it feels like I'm spending an eternity just moving towards the next enemy. - The radar could use a bit of work. Enemies are a bit too small, and the trees aren't shown at all. - There is a bug which causes the player shadow to slowly move away from the character, the more you move the further away it goes. After a while it looks like the character is floating mid-air:

Other than that, it's a really solid game. I enjoyed playing it. ;)

I'm gonna disagree with some of the other people on here -- I really liked how few trees there were, and how risky it was going further out to get wood sometimes. I thought that the minimap was really great as is, and I'm really glad the trees weren't on it, cause so much excitement came from finding the trees. Great great job.

Fantastic pixel art, great job. Congratulations on getting a working game submitted in 48 hours, a real achievement!

So someone is defending the low tree spawn rate... let me say that I combed the entire map for several minutes and couldn't find a single one. My experience playing this game was entirely without trees. The spawn rate is definitely too low. Anyway, besides that, the graphics are my favorite part. The player character is really charming, and the glowing fire creates an engaging ambiance. The game itself, unfortunately, is a bit dull. It's slow paced, and there just isn't much to do or see. This is understandable for a compo game, though, so I commend you overall, nice job.
