Love the humor in this one. Senpai looks so meme imo. Good one :D
The number of attacks is too much for me to keep track of, but I like the idea. Good job!
Was hard to follow what beat what and could not bring up the chart before the fight. I enjoyed the story.
Really hard to learn anything/pay attention when I've got a 5 second countdown. Really didn't know what was going on at any point. Beat the tutorial by randomly clicking. I think the game needs to do something other than text boxes to teach you the mechanics, because as is, i'm lost. Like, as far as I can tell its rock paper sizzors right? So why not introduce 3 moves rather than 6 at once?
Everything in this game compliments your humor xD I love it! You made me smile big times today - thank you :D
Funny game. Music is high quality for the time frame given. If I had to improve on this game, I would add effects to the attacks, such as characters jolting when hit or a quick flash of the icon of the attack used towards the enemy.
@finalforeach there were plans for sfx but I ran out of time  better planning next time I guess hahaha
I really enjoyed this game. It feels like old flash games in almost every aspect. As you stated, the fighting system is confusing, and struggling with that is also funny :)
Loved the humor and genre!
For whatever reason I can't connect to the website the game is on.
Edit: Works now! Gonna check it out
I lul'd pretty hard. Fun little game but takes so time to get it down. Would play again! Nice work!
Interesting and lovely game~It maybe would be better if he could also operate with the keyboard?
@lamossus You could try running it in different browsers, i guess? That's odd
Really cool game
I liked the humor and that it had a new take on fighting themed games.
Like the humor and the idea but the gameplay felt way too random. It's way too hard to use some strategy when you have a 5 second counter. Stalling until you have some special moves ready seemed like the most reliable way to win. Weirdly enough this game kinda reminded me of BattleCON.
really nice entry pal, graphics and humour is here. Keep it up and improve it ! :)
So much fun) Good characters interpretation(Scorpion and hero from DtragonBall is top  ) I'm a true master now)
Wow that must be a lot of work. Nice humor, and this mechanism is actually worth digging! It's just that, I can't really remember the relationship between different move(it's really hard to think of it by just watching 8 different color), and since the enemy's move seems to be random, how am I supposed to choose wisely? I felt a little disappointed when I tried to come up with a strategy and found out it's unnecessary. But still, very impressive!
@decappoolla The movement of the fighters is not random. I set up each match pattern individually and unique. If you pay attention you might lose a couple of times but it is possible to beat each one perfectly if you memorize their patterns. I had more fun however by simply choosing the moves and hoping for the best haha
Interesting game, this system is really worth to be depply developed in the future, but it doesn't have connection with the theme.
@superlee Don't be so materialistic. You start the game with nothing, you have no knowledge of anything, and by the end you learn all forms and become a master and you gain knowledge. hahahahahaha
Cute entry :thumbsup_tone1: ..... music a bit repetetive
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
I enjoyed this game way more than I should have. Very funny, really good art. Well done!
Nice art and nice idea. Unfortunately I eventually gave up just button mashed. Got me quite far.
solid entry. funny tutorial. gameplay was ok. but dude, you did sooooooo much in those 48 hours, im almost ashamed that i didnt manage to do more -_- . gg :dog: :dog:
fun start. gets a bit messy later on. Graphics is not so nice. els GJ.
It's funny and the ambiance is realy good, it getting harder and less obvious but still good job, GG!
Solid entry, the music was little bit too loud and it would be nice if you introduced the circular strong moves more slowly, there is not way I will remember what is strong against what.
Great humor, graphics are funny, good remake of stone, paper, scisors with solid amelioration ! Add a story mode with fun bad guys and a girl to save and that's a must !
The concept is really fun. I think the introduction of mechanics needs some balancing, as the game goes from simple to complex very quickly.
I really liked the humour and the strategy of figuring out your opponents moves. It was a bit weird at first when I thought I had to memorize a circle of moves, but you did a good job putting them in a line to define which was better against which. Nice entry :)
Funny and effective implementation of the theme inside this game. I would suggest keeping the scope smaller next time, especially for a game jam game, as the number of fighting stances became way too much for me to memorize. Overall, an extremely gameplay-filled game. Well done!
@flywolfe Thanks for noticing the line set up :D
It would have been nice to have the strength/weakness chart up somewhere to reference while playing, but I really liked the art. Overall it was pretty fun. Nice work!
That was an incredible amount of content and depth, although it was really burdened by the UI and feedback issues. I would've liked to see important UI elements, e.g. previously used moves and countdown, placed more centrally. The countdown could've been a meter that stretched across the screen and that would've been miles clearer than a number.
* Feedback-wise, it would've been great to have a sound effect or visual indication of an exchange firing off, as well as how that exchange turned out. It was sometimes difficult to notice the countdown expiring due to this and the poor UI. * The controls would've been more fluid if you also offered keybinds and a skip-dialogue action. * Enemy actions were sometimes rather unpredictable.
@corrade Thank you for the feed back! Unfortunately I didn't have time to implement the sound effects I had planned, and some stuff turn out unpolished indeed. But thank you for the suggestions I will try and implement those later if I ever release the game somewhere. As for the enemy actions, they are all a defined pattern. They will always start with the same move, and use the same sequence at any time you play the game. Can't get more predictable than that :P
Great game! I checked out the rules in the title screen before starting and was completely lost, but once I followed the campaign it made a lot more sense! Art is great and the dialogue is very funny. Great work!
The GAME IS GUT!!!! The hardest enemies was masters, I just skipped them by playing 1 level over and over again, but all of "Her" pupils I killed them from 3 try!!!
@aret24 You skipped the levels by playing a single level?? Pretty sure that's not what it is supposed to be happening! What a bug :face_palm: thank you for the report it is already fixed :)
@hcursino - And I have last question, You used construct release 272, do you have full version of it(Like bussiness edtion), or just trial???
The game's concept was nice but some things can be improved. I missed the countdown timer some times, It would have been better if there was some sound of the timer to alert the player. The game also moved very quickly from simple to complex but is okay for me. The number of moves also were more than enough for a game jam game but its your choice as you are the developer. The graphics were nice and humour in the dialogues made the game more enjoyable. Overall, the game was good and I enjoyed it.
@aret24 C2 272 yes, full version.
This was great it did become a bit confusing after a little while but it was fun
That was a really fun game, and I really enjoyed the high pressure, yet turn-based approach, almost like a Kung-fu verion of Punchout. All of the little art details, and progression, and the built in tutorial with the stages were fantastic. Nice work!
This game has the most content of the compo submissions I've played. The number of characters and amount of dialog is impressive given the time constraints.
This is an interesting game. I like the multiple overlapping rock-paper-scissors mechanics, but the current implementation of it is a combination of random guessing, trial-and-error, and rote memorization...
Other people have mentioned this, but the lack of sound effects or other UI feedback harms the gameplay experience. Combined with the time-limit, this makes the game rather confusing at first.
But the music is pretty good! It suits the pacing of the game particularly well.
More than anything, the size and scope of this game is really quite impressive.
Funny game and really cool battle system! The dialogue is great and the amount of complexity and content is impressive. Great work! :)
i really like the game idea. funny and easy game. maybe graphics can be better but it is a compo game so great job!
The game is charming and somewhat funny. The character and move art are fairly good, but the UI doesn't look like it got much attention. Also, seemed like the game was trying to scale up as big as possible within the webpage. Limiting the game size would probably make it look better quality.
Like many though, I struggled with the combat system. 5 seconds just isn't enough while you're still learning the strengths/weaknesses. Maybe if the timer started at more like 10 seconds and got shorter as you advanced to further levels? Also, as someone else mentioned, audio cues for the timer would help.
Still a fairly solid entry for a compo. It has more content than a lot of jam games. So good job!
Great humor and writing  The other aspects of the game could use a lot of work, most notably - the presentation of the rules. It was quite confusing
basic attacks are rock paper scissor lizard spock and advanced are normal rock paper scissor? Cool :) quite a funny game you made there :)
You don't see many fighting games during the jams! I loved the tutorial, well written and entertaining it really teaches you how to play in a funny way. The music is very engaging. When it comes to the actual fight though I would have loved to have more feedback about what's going on, like a sound to let me know immediately who won, because the only cue I have is the life bar, but looking at it while choosing the moves and checking the result is a bit confusing, especially because in a common fight game you don't have to. Same thing for the timeout, a little gong here would help. But I understand the the time was short. I think it will be also very entertaining to have little animations of the characters to reflect their winning or loosing state. Just suggestions :) Very good entry!
Interesting game. I like the rock paper scissors thing, but I definitely can't keep track of those different moves. Maybe with lots of practice.
Very funny game! Only critque would be that it would be nice to have the rock, paper, scissors logo on the screen so the player knows what to click when the enemy chooses their moves. Other than that, great game!
Okay, the game mechanics are just INSANE! And I can't tell if it's good or bad, but it's definitely interesting. I finished the game completely... and didn't understand how it all works xD Pros - different fighters, humor, great background tracks. Missed the sounds of the battle (in my head seemed so funny, like in old Hong Kong films). This is definitely a very interesting and fun project, I like it. Nice entry :)
Solid entry and funny gameplay. Great humor and amazing work on aesthetic. Well done ++
Really cool and funny game. I specially liked the strategy approach to a usually combat-style game. Great job.
very good game! I really like the humour, the offbeat ambience! The idea is quite simple but original, the difficulty is present, so we have fun! For me it is the music that would need a little improvement:) Well done.
