The atmosphere and art were amazing! I'm not sure if there are multiple win scenes, but I got the one in the North and it was really fun to figure out how to get there. I liked how there were different paths to ever place and how your time spent was important to manage. Honestly, I don't have much to say about what you could improve, it was just a really nice game. Oh, and I loved how diagonal movement worked!
Loved the atmosphere of the game. You really took the art, sound, and gameplay and forged them into something unique. There was an issue when I tried to give the incinerator to one of my units and the game crashed, but it was really fun up until then! Really, incredible job! I'd love to play more like this.
Some constructive feedback: It would be really nice to select all units at the same time. I would also like to keep a unit selected after I move him (but have the time continue at normal speed); it's a bit annoying to click move click move etc. And finally, I would personally like some music while playing, maybe something that gets more intense the more enemies that are around.
Again, super game, I loved it!
I love the humor and the environment! There were some really cool interactions and I loved the way the character ran around. You should work on the jump mechanic, though. It doesn't feel very responsive because of the build-up. I think I'd prefer it to just immediately jump. Also, you should make a windows build as well, because it lags a bit on the browser. Otherwise, great game! It was fun to play and I loved getting a fireball to shoot around :D
I absolutely loved the game, but it was so difficult >.< It looks, sounds, and plays extremely well. I wish I could make it further in the game to see the ending, but I really loved the game. Incredible job!
Fun game! I enjoyed the bullet hell mechanics and balancing of keeping your family alive, but also waiting for them to die. Cool music and graphical effects too :) It would be cool to have the difficulty ramp up a bit more/faster, but overall it was fun to play
Incredible and amazing. Well polished platforming mechanics, enticing story, beautiful graphics. This game has it all. Had me hooked from the get go. Even your screenshots pop out when compared to others. Really incredible job! The only advice I can really give is to make it a bit more clear in the first scene what you can jump on and what you can't. I got a little confused there as to what was foreground and background. But really, amazing job!
So far, the best game I've played. Absolutely enjoyed it. It was really fun when we figured out that you can go from one side of the screen to the other. We just stacked up on speed and flew around haha
I loved the look of this game a lot. The sounds, atmosphere, and design really brought out how cool this game was. Only real drawbacks are that it can become repetitive after a bit and the camera controls were a little awkward. Otherwise, really freaking cool
@jeremia Thanks so much for the feedback!
Yeah, there is definitely some balancing that we are missing because we ran out of time. I wish we were able to test more, but I'm so happy you played the game and liked the idea! We'll try to take a look into the advice you gave and see what we can do after the jam!
@pepnou Hey, thanks for the comment! The tutorial was a little last minute, but to at least explain it here, you baasically gain levels as you age, but you need to reverse your age so you don't die. You don't lose levels by getting younger, so you can gain levels again by aging again.
I'm not sure if that was clear, but I hope it helps :)
Very fun game, I loved playing it with my friend! There's a bug where you can get slowed forever, but that doesn't happen super often. Also, I think it would be nice to have more feedback on the powerups (i.e. screen shake, particle effects, etc,). Overall, pretty good job! :)
That's a really cool system! I enjoyed the game a lot, actually! It was so hard >.< I played with mouse and keyboard, so maybe that's why, but dang it was difficult haha. Well presented and well made. My only gripe is that dashing when you're on the wall makes you dash backwards, which led to a lot of frustration. Otherwise, it was really fun :D
IWon.jpg
So I beat the game. I would recommend adding in some more variety to enemies/weapons/world. It got pretty repetitive at a point and I just started running through the levels without killing things because I had so much extra time.
Great job for making a complete game and actually fitting the theme (unlike so many other submissions). Some things can be improved, but everything's there. Cool game :)
Interesting game, definitely an innovative idea and pulled off well. Cool job for your first game, guys! IF you continue it, I'd add more mechanics that deal with light. At the moment, it seems to be just a way to see what's ahead of you. It would be really cool to light torches, burn ropes, etc.
I enjoyed the music and the visual effects :)
For the tutorial, there's way too much information and it could be summarized in just a couple lines. Also, the text scrolling is way too slow.
Overall, not bad
@mia-devs It's probably a difference in scroll wheels/scroll settings. Adding a bar you can drag would probably help with that :) Still, Good job
Awesome game! I love the mechanics and it's super fun to play :D I was a bit confused at first when enemies just began appearing on new turns, so maybe it would be a good idea to add an "enemies remaining" count or something. Overall, it's awesome!
It's an interesting concept and it's cool to grow a cult around this sort of miracle tree :D I would just give more interaction to the player. We have to wait around a lot to get enough followers and we can't really do anything while that is happening. Otherwise, nice job :)
I love the concept! I'm not really sure what I'm really doing in the world other than making objects appear, but it's really fun and interesting nonetheless! Great idea :D
Wonderful gameplay! Absolutely loved it :D Especially the voiceover for nuking plots XD Great job!
The feeling of shooting is really nice and the compact environment really adds to the atmosphere, I would just suggest something like a score tally or a life system so the game has some goal or stress
The music was really nice and I enjoyed the typing experience of the game. The first spells I memorized were up and down. But I really liked being able to cast spells by writing them. It's a neat concept :D I did have a bit of confusion with the UI feedback, so I'd recommend making it more obvious that something is currently being highlighted so people know it's clickable. It wasn't much of an issue, but good to iron out
XD I loved the ending. What do you do when you're faced with a horrible monster? Hug it :D
The art is great and the music is really nice as well, but some of the dialogue boxes are a bit painful to hear on the ears. Which I guess makes sense for the monster, but it is a bit grating. It was a fun story to go through, thank you ^^
Made me feel so stressed haha! You hit the atmosphere of the game perfectly. It was short, but you did a great job!
The art style and retro background feel is super cool! There's a really small hitbox on the enemies, so it's a bit weird to click on them. Otherwise, it was a cool, short experience :)
It's a cool experience and the style you went with is pretty cool. Also liked the music, but I wish it lasted a bit longer. Since you wanted to improve your art, you could also try to add in some post processing (mainly some color grading and vignette) and I would also adjust the fence so every post faces upwards the same amount (so you keep the same perspective throughout the game). But the art is definitely well drawn, so great job there ^^
Really love the atmosphere in the game! The music is amazing and the world feels really put together :D
Really great game with an incredible atmosphere! The music fits perfectly and helps to give you even more stress. Love this entry :D
I like the art style and the music is quite nice! Took me a bit to realize that I could change the mouse inversion in settings (don't like m mouse inverted haha). I would suggest having more things to do at the start because it takes a while to get to the more interesting parts of the game. But good job :)
The game is beautiful and sounds amazing! I love the ambient music and the sounds of collecting orbs. It would be cool to be able to do more in the game, but you really hit the sweet spot for ambiance and atmosphere
I really liked the humour and the strategy of figuring out your opponents moves. It was a bit weird at first when I thought I had to memorize a circle of moves, but you did a good job putting them in a line to define which was better against which. Nice entry :)
It's a really cool concept and feels cool to play around in. It would be cool to make bigger stars and to create lines when drawing, but it's really neat ^^
Love the cat sounds XD It's really fun to just click as fast as you possibly can and fill the screen with cats
Absolutely wonderful! Cute and comedic with a sprinkle of disaster. You did an amazing job!
Love the crafting mechanic and mini game part of it. It would be cool if there was a recipe book of your found recipes as well so you could what you've made and how you made it so it's easier to track what ingredient combinations don't work. But anyways, it was a solid game overall, great job!
Great job, man! This was really well polished and I loved the freak out Stronky Kong had when destroying the tiles, really added a lot of flavour to the game. The graphics were amazing and the music was on point :D
Only critique I have is on the -1000 points from getting hit by a barrel. It kind of incentivizes you to stop by the shop as often as possible instead of keeping you in the heat of the moment
But honestly, amazing game and fantastic job!
Loved the humour in this one! Would've liked some more information on what the attacks did and how strong they were, but they game played nice and it was really cute ^^ Nice job!
Absolutely loved it, the humour, the theme interpretation, the mechanics, everything. So flipping fantastic! Wish there was some more audio, but wow was it a good game!
Awesome art and I loved the effects you can do with your spells. The way they were against different enemies and situations was a nice touch. I'm not a huge fan of the randomness when I also have to choose quickly with a delay between casts, but it still felt really cool to let off a lava beam or an explosive shot. Really cool game!
Man, that first jump scare really gets you haha. Really awesome atmosphere and I love the whispering voices in the background. This is really cool! Great job :D
Awesome game! I especially enjoyed the werewolf rampages haha. It was a little difficult telling where my hitbox was and I got hit a few times when I didn't expect to, but it was a really cool game and pretty fun. Nice job!
Wow, really surreal experience. The mouse feels a bit weird in the web version, but changing mouse speed helped a bit. But holy, that was really cool to go through. The atmosphere and sounds fit perfectly. Awesome job!
I like the aesthetic and it plays really well! Is there a list of what shapes there are in the game? I found it a little difficult to tell how close I was to winning. It was really cool, though. Awesome job!
@100th-coin Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the game!
@osh-studio Thank you! Just checked out your game as well, absolutely rad!
@jaker Appreciate the feedback! The winning area is to the right. You have to go all the way up, then fall back down the shooter lane (the part where you shoot the pinball out of on a physical machine). Gotta bring Pinny home haha
@bgdc Noted, we might flesh this out later, so we'll keep this in mind if/when we do. Thanks for the feedback :D Also, your game is super beautiful!
@mistercheezymoon Haha, I hope the rage was balanced out enough. Thanks so much for giving it a go, and great job completing the game!
@brotherst Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed our game ^^
@tardif-adrian Thanks! We put a lot of work into the art and design of the game, so we really appreciate your feedback :D
@ryan-winstead Glad you enjoyed it, hope you didn't rage too hard :P
@lucy-lu Thanks for playing! And I'm glad people are finding the game fun, it makes us really happy :)
@mateu Thanks for playing! So, to win the game, you need to get to the op, and then all the way to the right. It's essentially reverse pinball. Bring the pinball back to the shooter lane where it normally comes out of. Some others have had an issue noticing that as well, so we should have put an indicator to clarify where you're supposed to go.
The bullet time idea is great, though! Unfortunately, we hadn't thought of that, but I'm glad you enjoyed the game otherwise :)
@mateu Yeah, sorry for the confusion there, we'll definitely update that after the rating period is up. But if you end up giving it another shot, feel free to post the time you get! It helps to know how long it's been taking people and how difficult it feels haha ^^
@kwiper Haha, I'm glad you liked it so much! And thanks for the advice! When we update the game after the rating period, we'll absolutely add some kind of indication to show where you're supposed to be heading
@rubentipparach Thank you, I really appreciate it!
@jpatchz Thanks so much! We put a lot of thought into the graphics and the overall feel of the game :)
@deadsunset It makes me really happy to see so many people enjoying the game. Thank you so much for your feedback!
@javicoder Thanks so much, it means a lot :D
@alek-kef Thanks man! I'm glad you had a chance to check it out!
@jake-marks Thanks for checking out the game and streaming it! It was a lot of fun watching along and seeing you guys get to the end :D
@heiach Thanks for playing! Glad it was just the right difficulty. We tried to balance it out a bit so it was a bit rage-inducing, but not too much
@edevjogos Thank you, I appreciate it! We tried to scope down our development this time, so we were able to put more effort into the visuals and overall feel. So, I'm glad that worked :D
@byyiro Ah! Sorry about that! Maybe we can add some features after the jam can be turned on/off to make the game a bit more manageable. I'm glad you liked it, though! Thanks for playing the game!
@jakobthequizguy Awesome! Getting Over It was actually one of our inspirations for the game, so it's cool to see that it has a bit of the same feel to it. Thanks for the feedback! :)
@swiney Wow, that's such high praise! Thank you so much, it really means a lot ^^
@salohcin894 Thank you! It is kind of surprising how challenging it can be on your first play, but I hope it was within reason haha. Thanks for playing :D
@sli Thank you! I'm glad we were able to pull off the dynamic of being chill and challenging
So gorgeous! I wish I got to see what else you had planned, but wow, there's so much effort put into the graphics and shaders here. Nice job!
Really cool game! It crashed for me after a few floors, but I was able to get an upgraded grenade launcher and explode those foul demons. The waves did seem a little long and repetitive when it's the same enemies, but I did like your use of lasers and things to force the player to move around. Awesome graphics and a cute story, loved it!
This game is cute! I love the art and the dashing goats and other animals. Definitely got way too overconfident in the first run. My posse of daring farm animals went toe to toe with the radioactive horse king and his subordinates, but it was too much and all my farm friends abandoned me :(
Absolutely loved it!
It's pretty cool! I love how the dragon just pops out of nowhere the first time after you've been placing houses just randomly and haphazardly haha. It was fun :D
It's a very well polished game. Audio is great, cool visuals, and a fun platformer! I enjoyed it a lot :D
Cute and fun! Love the lighting effects you did and it's a good balance where it's pretty easy to win, but not so easy that you get bored. I enjoyed it a lot :D
Wow, such an incredible game. Looks and feels fantastic!! And found a way to blast through level 10 :D [Untitled.png](///raw/d39/22/z/46d6e.png)
Love it! So cute and poppy. Feels great and I love how the houses just pop around when they get bigger haha
Wow, awesome game! Really love the atmosphere you get from the sound and the graphics! Feels really awesome to play as well. And I love the way the ship controls and how it feels to rocket at full speed between the moon and the Earth. The only problem I had with it is jumping off the platform kills you and everyone in your ship. And I jumped off that platform a lot out of habit lol. Great game!
As others have said, you've got a very pleasing colour palette! And I love the old school feel. Don't see a lot of people doing text adventures in a game jam, so it was cool to play through this one. It would be cool as well if there were more actions you could take to delay the vampires or otherwise interact with the game. But it was fun overall. Cool game!
Hahaha, all my cows are dead :( So sad, but the foxes were more powerful!
Absolutely loved the game. Great job all around! Super cool game :D
Pretty neat game! Took me a bit to figure out what I was supposed to do with the ingredients cause the cauldron kept exploding haha, but once I figured it out, it wasn't too hard. It would be cool if there was a bit more chaos as well. With the cooking/chopping/watering stations a little closer, but with something like overcooked where the stations can overcook or something. Anyways, it was really cool! Awesome job :D
I was not expecting to get a heart attack from wobbling penguins. Absolutely incredibly game! I'm glad I got to play it before the end of the rating period because it is by far the best one I've played!
Haah! This was awesome :D Love the sounds and the dark backstory. I didn't see any bugs, the game felt great and really well polished. Absolutely loved it!
Such a beautiful game! The puzzles were really interesting and man, it felt relaxing and stressful at the same time haha. Loved it!
One critique would be on the speed of the game. Particularly in the beginning, it felt a little slow and I wanted the game to progress a little faster. But it sped up towards the end, so that kind of balanced it out.
Altogether an amazing game, awesome job!
Super fun! And props for doing this engineless. Felt pretty fair the full way through and required a bit of thinking on how to progress. That last level was insane, though haha. Great job!
The graphics and music were great and I loved the atmosphere of the game in general.
I did have some trouble figuring out how to beat the game because I could only make it to the end of one direction before I inevitably died. I think it would have been more doable if the enemies were less tanky and there was more room to move about.
But the game looked incredible and I love the paranoia theme you added in! I don't know if you do this later in the game, but having boss fights or certain enemies that trigger paranoia outside of its random cooldown would be really cool
Loved the audio and the graphics, especially the bullet trails and explosion lines. the atmosphere was great! The upgrades definitely get too expensive at a certain point and I wish there were some upgrades that changed the shooting mechanics at some point, but the game was really fun to play and you did a great job!
This was actually a lot of fun. I found a little bug where you can keep shooting forever if you never switch modes, which got me a good amount of points, but it's definitely way more fun to move around and get power ups. Also the bigger enemies and the way the game just got more chaotic as you went. It was really cool, nice job! It's a lot of fun :D
As others have said, the different movement options were a nice polish that made the game feel really nice. It was relaxing and fun! Would love to see other game modes as well where there are different objectives. I liked the game a lot, though ^^
Really beautiful game and so fun! I looked for that hand for so long and finally found it after looking in the comments haha. I think it's cause some of the interactable objects don't always highlight when you hover over them, but it wasn't so bad once I figured out where to aim. Managed to get a sub 2 minute time. Awesome game, really enjoyed it!
Very nice game! The atmosphere feels right and I like the dynamic between the cute, squeaky TV head and the somewhat horror-ish soundscape in the background. The text would on the interactable objects were difficult to read since they were the same colour as the static, but overall pretty nice. Great job!
Wow, this game looks great! And so cute :D The physics and pieces are fun to work with and it's really cool to play as well. The ending was so sad :( But I loved the game!
Man, some people are stacking these so high. I haven't even manage 20 yet haha. but the game is super cool! I had a lot of fun stacking them with the physics simulation. It's also pretty cool how they stick to the mouse and can be flung around. Awesome job!
A fun, hard game. I like the bit of world building you did in the tutorial as well, added an extra shine to the game. It got hard pretty quickly, but it was easy to restart and go for a better score, so that wasn't much of an issue. Also noticed that the gun shoots a little off from where I was aiming, but maybe that's because I was playing the web version. Overall, a great game, awesome job!
Loved the sound effects lol. The game was pretty fun and gotta say, love your choice of subweapons. Especially with the way the laser works, it just feels so good to use. It was a bit difficult to hit the enemies because they were kind of hard to see (yellow on yellow) when you're moving around quickly so as not to break the ground, but the horde mode did feel really cool.
Overall, it was pretty difficult and I could only last a few minutes before each death, but it was a lot of fun, awesome job!
Love the style and the concept. Super cool! The chase sequence level was a lot of fun as well, though it got super hard if you spammed jump lol. Loved it!
Sacrifice the edible cat MUAHAHA! It was cozy, I enjoyed it :D
