Love the art style. Wish I could control the creation of clones separately as I kept getting stuck under them. Interesting theme.

I'm so in love with the art style
The game looks nice, the creation of clones could maybe be targetable by the mouse. Other than that a fun concept
This is goofy as hell ahahaha really fun vibe but I gave up because I kept getting stuck by my own kind
Great mechanic! I laughed out loud. Getting random clones with different art/sound adds extra delight! The background is jittering on web, but you probably know that. GREAT use of theme!
Love the style and the concept. Super cool! The chase sequence level was a lot of fun as well, though it got super hard if you spammed jump lol. Loved it!
LOVE the art style! Clever idea to use clones as stepping stones to move through the level, and the chaos of trying to jump being attached to the mechanic is cool. I wish I had a little bit (and I mean just a little bit) more control over where the clones spawned. Got a good chuckle out of all the 'rare' clones.
Didn't get through the whole thing but the art is amazing! That wizard is so wack lol
i love the art! reminds me a lot of yoshis island! i love the small chance for sillier clones to spawn
Pretty nice game, but I broke it =D
I love the art and the concept of the game. Really enjoyed this one! GJ!
Im in love with handpainted style graphics. It realy looks so pleasing and inviting!
Alright so I think you nailed the summon part

I've not seen the theme taken to the extreme as well as this game has, so well done! Very enjoyable, and the music/art is unbelievably good!
Love the art, the mood and the game overall. Surprisingly fun when the clown appeared xD doing a bridge with the clones, death lying there x'D
THE MOST FUN GAME I'VE PLAYED TODAY!!! I really enjoyed the experience and graphics. That game is something I would love to play with my friends in coop!!
Really nice turn on the theme and very funny! Tried to brake the game by spamming but didn't manage ;')
Love the art and the different characters !
The art style is awesome and the concept is cool !
But I don't understand why sometime, I summon above me and some other time, under me :/
And the music is really good but spoiled by a permanent noise in the background :/ (Maybe a bug that I have on my side)
Screenshot 2024-04-16 084511.png I ADORE that the lil guy looks at the camera when he's idle. Such a nice touch! The art style is really lovely and the cutscene was a great idea — it really sets the tone for the rest of the game! The idea is a super fun take on the theme. I laughed when I got stuck in this corner by the line of birds!!!
I love the concept here and the little story. That opening cutscene really showed off your delightful art style. Gotta love the chaos caused by all the clones and not knowing which one you will get!
One of my favorites so far! Art and animations are gorgeous. Love the variety of clones!
Hahaha awesome take on the concept, and very well executed! Would have enjoyed to have an indication on where the clone drops, but I guess it's part of the gameplay :) Great job! 436616808_397456826464711_159613853640404440_n.png
@pierre-cilluffo Thank you ! Yeah the audio bug is something we had in the last minute and we didn't have the time to resolve it, so sorry for your ears tho :/
Very cute, the art and sound add so much! It's fun, but mostly I feel like I just need to summon a million clones to solve the puzzle. I guess I'm not feeling especially clever getting through anything. Still so charming though haha!
Very interesting idea. Cloning my self it's pretty good!
So much fun. I love those random deviant looking/behavior clones, such a great idea!
From screenshot above, I think we all get stuck at the same place, buried under an army of clones :)
The character sometimes does not face the direction he's walking to, making difficult to make clone spawn around the place we want. But everything else is so cool.
The art style is so cute, I would recommend you to apply that to the wizard design as well. Music and sound are pretty good. The level design is quite nice, but could improve in some area that the bird will push the player into the corner which I couldn't move anywhere else. Or maybe add the restart from last checkpoint button. Overall is nice, great job team.
Thanks for the feedback @niighty-nine! Yeah, some places are prone to being stuck, but that's why we put a restart to checkpoint button with K. Maybe you missed it?
Anyway, thanks for the feedback you all, we had a lot of fun doing this game! :)
fantastic artstyle, also the sounds and the initial dialog are really nice :)
The idea itself is fun and well executed.
Good job :)
I ran into a few glitches but the idea of the game is very nice :) I like the trumpeter clone :3
This game is adorable! I love the animations and the art style. The forest reminds me of Eiyvind Earle's work. Nice! The introduction was really perfect.
I like having multiple kinds of summons, and really really enjoy the gameplay of using them to platform with. I wish they always summoned below me though, so my jump wouldn't get interrupted if I pressed it outside of the perfect timing window. I also think that the player should be stronger than the persistent chasing enemies, so you're not locked in a gridlock so often. It felt fun to run away from a pack of them, but not so fun to spam jump in order to clip yourself out of a corner. The clown is a 10/10.
Really fun and funny game, thanks for sharing it with us!
This raised more questions about the ethics of cloning than the movie The Prestige. Great game (graphics are lovely), I was laughing hard at my inability to jump across a tiny gap because of the hundreds of clones I'd spawned from my ingrained instinct to just hammer the jump button...
I love the art style and the animations in the intro and in the game itself! The music is super cute! The mechanic is interesting, though I didn't quite understand if / how I could control the spawning. Adorable game overall!
The introduction was nice ! We got a little bit frustrated by the gameplay, like when the clone pop right on our head and block the jump but otherwise congrats for making it to the end !
Honestly best game I've played so far, the art and soundtrack are amazing!!
The visuals, music and gameplay idea is good. There are some graphical issues with the background. But overall a pretty good jam game.
There was supposed to be some ingame dialogs to give some tips to the player, but unfortunately we didn't have time to implement those. So for all of you who (legitimately) wonder if we can control where the clones spawn, here is the answer: - If you do a jump from the ground, a clone should spawn near you (usually behind and a bit in the air) - If you do a double jump, a clone should spawn right under you (ingame explanation of the double jump: you actually use that clone to push yourself upwards :') - If you press the jump button in the air and don't have your double jump left, the clone spawn right over you. This was intended to be a way of telling the player "Hey, you can double jump, but not triple jump, don't push it too far!", and kindly punish spamming.
But all of that is way less intuitive without the dialogs to help understanding it ^^'
TLDR: Use doubles jumps, not more. Spamming = chaos
I really love the art.
At first I thought the game was pretty fun but after the bird wall spawn the was no way to make progress anymore. This completely kills the fun for me.
Critiques first then compliments: The biggest problem is the controls. This game is really frustrating to control unless you know how the clones are spawned. However, since there's no explanation, it's really difficult. It was only until I read your comment that explains the controls that I could actually enjoy the game more. I feel like the clones should be the central mechanic, but if you know how to double jump, then it really is just another platformer with a double jump that's disguised as something else. Also, even though I was playing on the desktop version, the background was jittering a lot. There was also a constant sound that sounded like it was coming from the clones running, but it was very grating on my ears.
As far as the game goes, I loved the art style, the story was a lot of fun, the SFX and music was pretty good, and the idea behind the core mechanic was great. I just think it could have been executed a bit better.
Great entry!
Dayum. This is was a lot of fun. Some minor bugs as everyone pointed out above but awesome job guys.
I burst out laughing when I saw the wizard. He looked amazing. Graphics all around are great (as others have already said).
I played for quite a while, got stuck by all my clones as other said. Wish there was a way to reset to a checkpoint but clear out the clones.
Despite the simple mechanics I found it challenging. The third level where you get chased by the pointy clone versions are where I got stuck. It became frustrating trying to double jump off those curved platforms over the spikes -- this game could really benefit from a coyote jump!
The chase level was also a little monotonous because I found I had to press "r" to restart the whole level as otherwise the placement of enemies could leave me stuck. Would have preferred the game do that for me!
I cute game with a few gameplay quirks.
fun and very cute art. the last level was crazy hard. but enjoyed playing very much!
Yeah, the gameplay/level design could be improved in several places. As I'm still a baby jammer I didn't quite manage my time properly. Almost all of the suggested improvements were things we noticed, and that I would have corrected with just a few more hours. I'll do better next time :)
I hope you still had fun!
