This is a very interesting game. The opening bit of plot was funny and I really liked the visuals. I did experience quite a bit of lag (I think it's because of the amount of grass, but I'm not sure) and I was also able to infinitely sprint. Overall this was a very creative approach and I enjoyed it. :)

valerie-van-haen 2019-10-07 22:30

It has great potential, but camera/mouse doesn't work correctly- it's spinning like crazy. Graphics and music are cool.

xiranvii 2019-10-07 22:34

Interesting idea, but I had a lot of issues with mouse sensitivity and camera behaviour.

morkiche 2019-10-07 22:39

Nice game ! However the vertical mouse control doesn't feel intuitive. When you move the mouse forward, the camera goes down. Maybe you should swith the direction. Otherwise, the graphics are amazing.

cottontshirtz 2019-10-07 23:01

There is an item (?) near the grill that says "Your Jetpack has been filled", what is the control for the jetpack? I assume that is the way to get to the items on the table... I like the way the grass hides the spiders, gives it a real spooky reveal when you come across one.

wheelsx 2019-10-07 23:02

@cottontshirtz You have to find the jetpack. When you pick it up, it tells you how to use it. Well, kinda.

wheelsx 2019-10-07 23:03

@valerie-van-haen @xiranvii Yeah, I really needed to put a mouse sensitivity option. I completely built it to my liking and forgot a lot of people like a less sensitive feel.

cottontshirtz 2019-10-07 23:25

It is very fun to fly with the jetpack through the tall grass, dodging side to side to keep your momentum!

miu 2019-10-07 23:36

I think it has potential, you should continue it :)

tomeks 2019-10-08 05:00

Very nice idea, and you manage to capture the ambience very nice. On a side note I hate inverse mouse :D

mimusangel 2019-10-08 13:08

The concept is interesting but we get lost, like to find the jetpack

ohnqapwjgcpr8vai9cxo1mmonugljxwi 2019-10-08 13:09

very nice looking and good sounds couldn't get the jetpack i felt like the walking distance was a bit to big the game reminded me of an old toy story 2 game

shigor 2019-10-08 13:46

I found a jetpack, so I could move a faster... for a while before fuels runs away... So I spent a lot of time going to house only to find out that there are some things, but I can't get to them. I moved to side to grill where are some other items that I can't reach... found some inactive inmoving spiders on a way, got bored pretty quick. I think you made a mistake in making the scale so huge and movement too slow - I just gave up after spending several minutes just slowly walking (a bit faster if you move to side too since you're not normalizing input). Mood and idea seems nice, but it's just too boring...

Webbuild won't open the menu as escape is consumed by browser I think so I can't check the options.

I loved the idea of making the game character that small, and the visual perspectives it offers to the player. On the other hand, as others pointed, getting from place to place takes quite a lot of time. All in all, I still pretty much enjoyed the experience.

zsombro 2019-10-08 18:13

I liked the small perspective, however it was incredibly slow to move around and finding alternatives tests the player's patience quite a bit! Also, I had the same issue with mouse sensitivity.

Overall I really liked the idea though and I think there is a fun game in there with some more work!

jellzilla 2019-10-08 19:03

Fun game! I wish it had a little more polish: * I really liked seeing points of interest far off in the distance (like Disney's "weenies"), since it really made me want to explore the yard. * Without some direction to getting the jetpack or anything to do while traveling, I lost interest before finishing my exploration. * I would have liked to see move/idle animations on the main character, or some inconsequential action you could do to make "simply existing" in the game more fun. This might have also helped with making the travel time more tolerable.

Thanks for all the great feed back guys! We really love hearing your likes and dislikes. All your comments help us to grow. (It's just the two of us, husband and wife team. Neither of us do this work professionally, nor do we have "formal" training, lol. This is just our hobby and something we enjoy doing together. <3)

Unfortunately, we are under the impression that fixing the mouse sensitivity at this point is against the rules, so for now... it is what it is and we will try do do better next time :D

The game DOES have an ending, and it CAN be completed in under 10 minutes. The intention was a feeling of smallness in a big, open, vast world... to explore and discover. It sounds like you guys are feeling it. :)

Yes, we are seriously considering developing it further as there were many BIG ideas that we wanted for it but set aside because we knew we couldn't complete them in 72 hours lol.

I will offer you a bit of a spoiler... find the jet pack and discover how to refuel it. It will help you get around and you can always refuel it again later if you run out.

Can't wait to hear from the first person who makes it to the end. :)

attala 2019-10-08 21:01

Controls worked fine for me. I found the gameplay to be a bit slow for my taste. I walked a long distance only to find I should have gone in another direction :) I like the idea and the concept though. And the graphics are nice. Well done.

bustosman 2019-10-08 21:11

I think it would have been better if the area was smaller to get around quicker, but definitely an interesting concept.

flywolfe 2019-10-08 23:48

I like the art style and the music is quite nice! Took me a bit to realize that I could change the mouse inversion in settings (don't like m mouse inverted haha). I would suggest having more things to do at the start because it takes a while to get to the more interesting parts of the game. But good job :)

wheelsx 2019-10-09 02:16

I uploaded a new version to the itch.io page. This version fixed the enemies not moving. Everything worked fine in the editor, but I didn't find out until the next day that the enemies were broken in the build. Apparently, Unity decided to not find the rigidbody on the enemy by using GetComponent(), which I fixed by making the field public and assigning it in the editor. It was also not finding the player with GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("Player"), but I was able to get it to work with GameObject.Find(playerObjectName).

These are the only things fixed. Because it was after the deadline, I left the html version alone, and the original downloadable version is still available. I spent a good deal of time working on the combat, and would like it to at least be possible to experience the game the way I did playing in the editor. I was in such a hurry to play everyone else's great games that I didn't realize it was broken until the next evening.

tero-pulkkinen 2019-10-09 05:59

i was hoping to see the house more carefully, but it took very long time to walk to it. You have nice shadow shader which even casts shadow to the player.

pierallard 2019-10-09 06:15

The goal of this game was not clear. It tooks me a very long time to go to the table without anything but grass in my eyes... That was long. And when I reached the table, I didn't succeed to go on it, nor kill some spiders... Oh, and please inverse the camera top/bottom, it was very strange. Some positive points: the game seems finished, the artstyle is interesting and the sounds are great.

chaosed0 2019-10-09 06:20

I definitely got the sense of being a small thing in a large world! I think getting used to traversing with the jetpack was a little finnicky but pretty cool. That being said, it took me a long time to find the jetpack; I ended up walking over to the bench and trying to clip through the bottom first, before I realized I was missing something.

Unfortunately, I was not able to see the ending, though I feel like I collected all the items. Look forward to seeing where it goes next!

dxk2294 2019-10-09 07:26

Wow, this was ambitious for an LD game! Loved the atmosphere, but the camera controls were a bit painful for me, as I never use an inverted Y-axis. It also took a very long time to get anywhere, and I felt like there shouldn't have been an energy cost associated with sprinting. Once I got access to the jetpack, the world opened up a ton and I had a lot of fun exploring. The combat was difficult, though!

dib 2019-10-09 10:04

At first I was unsure whether or not I could reach anything, haha. It has a nice atmosphere, and the sounds and perspective work really well. Although I explored most of the map, I was unable to finish the game. It was too hard, unfortunately. You should explain it better in the description here. The main problem is how long it takes to get across the map. I understand why you thought this was a good idea, and it does add to the atmosphere, but when you have no directions, it becomes frustrating when you must go back and forth. As for graphics, they could have been textured at least, but it is LD after all. It's a good entry. I'll conclude by stating that the mouse was cute.

zimennik 2019-10-09 10:09

Interesting idea, but inverted mouse on default is bad option. Also can't kill enemies. Do I need some item for this?

alicecrd 2019-10-10 18:08

I really enjoy exploring your game :) Maybe increase speed a little

mrstari 2019-10-27 12:53

Great Job ! :)
