LD45 — Start with nothing

Wandering Soul by negator2vc 2019-10-08T18:04:53Z

Absolutely nailed the atmosphere! I'm a big fan of the bleak visual style. My biggest complaint is that the combat could use some work to make it more interesting. It's hard to guess where hitboxes are, but the telegraphed attacks were a good idea

I really liked the idea for the game and the art style is very nice! I only had two complaints: the controls were a bit slippery for me (I was playing the web version, I don't know if that matters) and the music got repetitve very quickly.

Other than that, it's a solid entry!

I think that this game is impressive enough that the lack of sound can be excused! I thought the idea was neat, although I have to say that it's more on the frustrating side of things in terms of difficulty, but maybe I just have to git gud

Voidborn by Shelvid 2019-10-08T18:34:40Z

World 1-1 I think? Where you have to jump behind a wall that has two enemy soldiers, it's difficult to time jumps since the pattern of how of then they shoot doesn't seem to have a discernible rhythm that I could follow, so I get shot quickly

I think this one-hit type of game works better when the patterns are clearly predictable, since the idea behind a game like this is that the player is meant to plan. This could also be supported by levels that fill one screen

Fun idea and there is a huge lack of well-made JoJo games (probably because the source material is super difficult haha)

I think you've picked a character who would really work well for a more light-hearted game and I also liked the chiptune adaptation of the soundtrack! I also would've liked some more direction on how to use the machine, but I think this could be built into a more compelling game overall!

KIRA KUIN! BAITSA DASUTO!

Alone by Harksa 2019-10-27T16:18:38Z

I liked the ethereal feel of the game! My only problem with characters that are purely particles is that hitboxes are difficult to get a feel for.

I also wasn't sure about the ending: was the protagonist implying that suicide leads to a less lonely existence? I'm not sure that kind of message will go over very well with many people, but it certainly is a heavy ending with an important theme.

404 here as well!

Palette of the World by Black Flag 2019-10-08T20:08:21Z

This is a clever idea that adopts the theme very well! I was also reminded of Epic Mickey! The platforming mechanics could be better, but all in all, I think this is a solid entry!

As a web developer, I realy liked the web-based approach and I'm hoping that more devs will go this path in the future!

The game itself was surprisingly lengthy and detailed, it really nailed the atmosphere and I liked the story driven nature. My only technical complaint is that the game's UI is not responsive, which means that I had a scroll bar on my screen resolution and had to scroll to see the dialogue boxes.

I really liked the concept, the simple and clean art style, and the music was very nice as well

Island Survivor by TC5550 2019-10-08T18:00:17Z

Well made survival crafting game! Controls were simple and intuitve and the graphics worked well for this kind of game.

My biggest complaint is probably the lack of music in-game, that would have improved the mood a lot!

Buggert by wheelsx 2019-10-08T18:13:20Z

I liked the small perspective, however it was incredibly slow to move around and finding alternatives tests the player's patience quite a bit! Also, I had the same issue with mouse sensitivity.

Overall I really liked the idea though and I think there is a fun game in there with some more work!

This is a solid idea for a puzzle game! Works with the theme as well and I really liked the simple, minimalistic art style! My only complaint is that there is no sound

Neon Sunset by tobb 2019-10-08T19:08:05Z

As a synthwave procuder, I really liked the whole aesthetic of the game!

I also thought the game was pretty damn well-made, especially given the timeframe, it kind of felt like it could be developed into something of a crossover between Hotline Miami and Superhot!

Island Game by aleks 2019-10-08T17:32:09Z

It's silky smooth, controls and mechanics are intuitive, and I really liked the random texture idea as well!

I know challenging it is to show something you've made to so many other people, so I applaud you for this valiant first effort!

A Dream Of Life by LukeDJ 2019-10-08T17:50:51Z

Fantastic, absolutely jaw dropping atmosphere

I surprised by it's scope, based on the available time! Really liked the visuals and audio, although the part after the piano scene was very glitchy and I couldn't progress any further

nothingEVERYTHING by PROJECTaroid 2019-10-08T19:02:19Z

I really liked the song and while the idea is pretty barebones, it's well executed and I could imagine it could lead to some cool design ideas!
