Nice game! Got a bit laggy towards the end. I really liked the use of the elements tho!

bernardex 2019-10-08 13:10

Heyo!! Nice concept! I loved the conversation between Father and son. Gameplay was very nice too, great execution of the theme. Particles almost crashed the game a few times after the second rune was taken/when the scenario refreshed. Ambience was great, I really felt i was starting from nothing. Great job! :)

s-yanik 2019-10-08 13:14

Nice cool and peaceful god mode game. I have not finished to build a new world but the game is successful.

mimusangel 2019-10-08 13:25

Nice little game, the controls are difficult to take in hand but it becomes more interessence when we succeeded: p

demuss 2019-10-08 13:29

@koalaura Thanks for feedback! +1 to Elements as strong side of this game : P

demuss 2019-10-08 13:34

@bernardex Hello, i sadly didn't figure out what causes lag spikes but at least i accomplished some of my goals i can tell from your comment

demuss 2019-10-08 13:35

@s-yanik Thank you! "Game is successful" aw you ^^

demuss 2019-10-08 13:36

@mimusangel Yeah i had problem with the controls to make them simple and effective...

any idea what would help?

mimusangel 2019-10-08 13:42

@demuss several things, for example in a first to make a preview cube or we will act, and put on the interface the buttons at icon representing the action for example. to remind the player of the keys and he is less wrong with.

nachtwitch 2019-10-08 17:03

You want to know who else knew he was good? You. The game was very fun (excluding minor inconveniences)

zsombro 2019-10-08 17:06

I really liked the concept, the simple and clean art style, and the music was very nice as well

jaspygames 2019-10-08 17:23

Such a cute game! Very creative, and the music was great with it too. Got a little glitchy towards the end. But fun overall.

demuss 2019-10-08 17:25

@nachtwitch OMG thank you for your warm words : D

demuss 2019-10-08 17:27

@zsombro Thank you for pointing the good sides of my game ^^

nachtwitch 2019-10-08 17:27

@demuss I'm only telling the truth

demuss 2019-10-08 17:31

@jaspygames Thanks, yeah it gets a bit laggy at the end i didn't figured out simple solution and sadly didn't had time to fix it in other way

@nachtwitch :3

alex-weiser 2019-10-08 17:39

I like how you are thinking on a conceptually divine level. This is a very big picture game and I can appreciate that. The control scheme was a little hard for me get down, this may be because I am constricted by human perception and habit. I am not used to using the keys U, I, O, and P for gaming purposes. Maybe those keys could be implemented as UI or in some other way. Either way, great job! God is proud of you.

siarhei-pilat 2019-10-09 10:01

Very good, I love how you combined different gameplay mechanics. There's space for obvious improvements, sure, it's Ludum Dare, after all. But other than that, everything works well with each other and it fits the theme well. Great job!

siarhei-pilat 2019-10-09 10:02

And the way you make elements interact with each other, it's just sweet! Cheers.

demuss 2019-10-09 10:09

@siarhei-pilat Thanks for feedback, yeah there is a lot of improvements which can be done, i had to fight myself to stop adding them/new things because i was running out of time : D

Happy to hear that elements interactions are "just sweet" i feared that i had to make everything interact in any way without big disappointments ^^

siarhei-pilat 2019-10-09 10:27

No-no-no, you did a great job, I can tell you. Enjoyed the game, it kept me interested so I made it to the end. This is your highest reward, cheers!

demuss 2019-10-09 10:39

@siarhei-pilat I agree that's a really good reward (^o^)

Especially because the game has that rouge-like-ish learning curve aka. you will most likely fail few times before you are going to understand most of the rules and achieving victory with that knowledge

croewens 2019-10-09 12:26

Nice little game! Controls feel a bit wonky, but I always have that feeling when playing an asymmetric game. Game had some issues and I experienced some lag, but it recovered afterwards! Looks like you had a big team around you supporting it, I like that! Great submission overall.

marcus-otterstrom 2019-10-09 12:55

Hey, solid entry! I clicked it because it visually was very similar to the game I made and I also considered making a game with a similar concept to this one haha :D Like others have mentioned it did get a bit laggy after a few days had gone by but it was manageable. It took me 3 tries to complete, on my 2nd try i got one square away from the middle with 0 actions left because I miscalculated it  Was fun to explore what everything did and then apply that knowledge later on. Good job!

demuss 2019-10-09 13:17

@croewens Thanks for feedback

@marcus-otterstrom Good luck with your game that you are considering to make : ) Love to hear that you have completed the game after few tries ( 2 in your case, nice one ) it means a lot, because my game is in design in a sense rouge-like-ish and exploration of mechanics is essential part of the game

huntrox 2019-10-09 15:14

nice game and idea, the control didn't used to it at the beginning .. but after keep playing i found myself enjoying the game

demuss 2019-10-09 15:35

@huntrox And thats one of the most important things for me ^^

barracudadisaster 2019-10-10 13:41

I enjoyed the game, the converstation with father and his son was a nice touch. The usage of elements was nice and the atmoshepre in the game was good. Good way to play with the theme as in build your own world. The background music was a good fit.

j0ye 2019-10-10 13:45

The controls were a bit unexpected and somehow the game had a terrible performance. Also the graphics good have been a bit nicer. Yet I found myself enjoying the game quite much and actually playing for a long time. Great strategy game and good execution of the theme.

steffy 2019-10-10 13:58

I found this to be an interesting game. It was fun.

demuss 2019-10-10 14:08

@barracudadisaster @j0ye @steffy Thank you for your feedback and warm words

@j0ye Yeah, at some point it started to lag but i didn't realized when and was running out of time : /

ashashza 2019-10-10 14:38

Hey, this was interesting. I enjoyed combining stuff to craft my way forward. It was pretty intuitive to put out fires and grow trees.

There was pretty limited time and steps so I felt pressured to keep making progress, it would have been nice to have a little less pressure and time to explore.

Otherwise, cool concept.

demuss 2019-10-10 14:56

@ashashza thanks for feedback i will keep it in mind.

My reasoning was that the time pressure helps with that there is not that much combinations and it would get boring after a way shorter time. Also it add that rouge-like-ish feeling of learing with each new run... but maybe i am completly wrong ^^

fupi 2019-10-10 22:27

This is an amazing game, but wow is it difficult! I always get just one rune before it all catches fire! I think this is one of the best I've played this jam.

demuss 2019-10-11 09:14

@fupi oh wow, thank you :3

yeah i could decrease amount of hours in which fire goes off so it's a bit harder to get overwhelmed by fire

mrerdalural 2019-10-11 12:55

Pretty good submission! It feels like a roguelite puzzle game. I haven't explored the game fully yet. I will make sure to complete this one. Thank you for the game! I liked it a lot!

demuss 2019-10-11 13:19

@mrerdalural Thank you. Good luck on completing it later : )

but rougelite? i disagree my game doesn't have any in game progression from run to run, it's rougelike : P

mrerdalural 2019-10-11 13:34

@demuss What I ment by roguelite is that every run provides a somewhat different puzzle depending on which rune you go for first. And I don't think this game is anything like the original "Rogue" so I wouldn't call this game a roguelike.

demuss 2019-10-11 13:52

@mrerdalural well it depends on someones definition of rougelike's and rougelite's... if you use the berlin's interpretation then yeah it's not rougelike 100% but there are games like: "Slay the spire", "Don't starve", "Spelunky", "Darkest dungeon" or "FTL" which are considered rougelike's and have nothing or little in common with the original "Rouge" aswell, IMO it's more like an idea/player experience than list of steps and/or rules which define rougelike/lite's

goldorak 2019-10-11 15:22

hello you've got a big talent greats game

sergio1811 2019-10-11 15:24

Strange concept, innovative tho. The inputs were not to good and the particles almost made my computer crash  , otherwise great job guys.

demuss 2019-10-11 15:33

@goldorak Hello, Thank you a lot

@sergio1811 Thanks for feedback, "inputs" ok i will keep it in mind and yeah there is something wrong inside the code which causes lag... not guys, one guy : P

dock-frankenstein 2019-10-12 07:40

The sprites were misaligned and you have no screenshots anywhere. It was a fun game.

palemek 2019-10-13 01:01

I've managed to beat the whole game! A bit laggy sometimes :) <3 Nevertheless i loved the feeling of making your own world your own way. Also loved the interactions between objects! In full version I would like to see more of them as well as some special achievements. That was great. **It made me feel that I would be great god :)**

demuss 2019-10-13 17:50

@franciszek-pyrc Sprites? Yeah i could add Screeshots to LD site, thank you

@palemek Woohoo, gratz! "in full version" i didn't finish yet full version of LD44 game soo it can be a while : P Thank you for feedback :)

mrstari 2019-10-14 10:43

this is a cute game. i had alot fun :hearts:

demuss 2019-10-16 11:06

@mrstari Thank you!

sillyman987 2019-10-16 11:29

Awesome game! Love the great graphics!

glitchheart 2019-10-16 18:30

Best entry I've tried! Good job! Very unique idea.

tommislav 2019-10-16 19:25

Took a little while to figure out, then it was pretty straight forward. I did not tend my world very well though, and once I got to the portal most of it was on fire... I guess I'm not quite that good as a god just yet X-D. Very interesting mechanics and solid execution. The sounds helped getting a very relaxing and cozy feeling (despite the world was on fire) and I liked it a lot.

demuss 2019-10-16 21:35

@sillyman987 @glitchheart @tommislav Thanks for feedback : D

@tommislav So you were like: Fine.png

gleb-shishov 2019-10-17 23:02

The game is interesting, the music is amazing, but it was hard for me to play, I'm a red green color blind and a lot of flowers in your game are too merging for me.)

honey-pony 2019-10-18 19:23

Nice to see another Godot game. :P

Anyways, cool game. At first I was overwhelmed by trying to find a combination that would let me not die, but as soon as I figured out that apples restored more points than they cost to build, the game was pretty easy: I just went in circles around the map and activated every rune. Other people said that the whole world caught on fire but that didn't really happen for me. There were some interesting things that showed up due to the runes (such as mountains and fish) but I never would have found them on my own as there's no real reason to craft things when there's no obvious incentive to do so and that uses up valuable valuable points.

I wonder if the point system is playing out the way it's meant to, as right now it more or less just serves as a requirement to make a tree every five or so steps and a disincentive to look into the other recipes. I don't imagine that was the original goal of it.

The game was laggy on my computer as well. I'm not sure if that's just due to Godot's 3D support being relatively young or if there's something weird in the game that could be optimized.

I do like how the game has a sort of GROW feel to it without being particularly similar in mechanics.

aeveis 2019-10-19 05:17

I beat it! I took a bit but after I figured out how to grow fruit or make fish I was able to keep going. There was a lot of spontaneous fire so not sure if it's the best world I made, but o well. Keep up the good work!

demuss 2019-10-22 09:50

@gleb-shishov Thanks for feedback, omg! thank you for recalling to me that it's a real problem for color blind people to play games, i think you comment will make me rememeber that fact... once again thank you

@aeveis Good job you! Thank you for feedback

@honey-pony Thank you for feedback. Yeah, the game is a bit laggy it's something in the code that i didn't notice at 1st and didn't had time to fix it later. Well, i had to agree that there is almost no point of using any combination other that making fish or apples for food and terrain to get to the runes... My 1st idea was to make some kind of quest/challenge or "good world requirements" system but i scrap it for some reason, dunno why tbh... Maybe i was scared that it's not fun or i wouldn't do it in time... and i think thats why the point system isn't playing out the way it’s meant to. I am going to work on this with my 1st idea in the future ^^

demuss 2019-10-22 11:42

@gleb-shishov And also... "a lot of flowers" what flowers?

I don't have any : O from flora i only have trees with or without apples

sorlok 2019-10-29 02:12

Neat game, and cool use of the theme. I liked the elements, although it took me a while to figure them out.
