LD45 — Start with nothing

He knew it was good by Demuss 2019-10-08T17:39:32Z

I like how you are thinking on a conceptually divine level. This is a very big picture game and I can appreciate that. The control scheme was a little hard for me get down, this may be because I am constricted by human perception and habit. I am not used to using the keys U, I, O, and P for gaming purposes. Maybe those keys could be implemented as UI or in some other way. Either way, great job! God is proud of you.

Spooky: The one who lost everything by Susumu Asaga 2019-10-08T19:08:57Z

This game had interesting and fun mechanics that made for a really enjoyable puzzling experience. I also loved the art. Great job!

Meager Genesis by Hajden 2019-10-08T17:53:41Z

The opening sequence was mind opening. It felt as if I witnessed the big bang itself and the origin of all creation. And from it came art, sound, passion, and love for all things. A tear filled my eye as I drifted across the cosmos. Bravo, Bravo...

LD46 — Keep it alive

Little Light Of Mine by dracominer 2020-04-23T22:19:26Z

The art was very interesting using the 2.5D look and it set up a very ominous mood with the music. It gave me a bit of a storybook feeling. Wish i could move faster and more linearly, it felt a bit slow game play wise. Not sure what was up with the baby or if the Worms did anything? Interesting game, nice work.

Beluas by Joshua Aubrey 2020-04-21T00:44:38Z

Fun and challenging arcade style game, a similar type of game concept came to my mind when I first heard this years theme. It would be nice if there was a restart button of some sort as my average round was only a bit more than a minute long. Music and sound effects would be nice to enhance the mood. I kind of want to be able to jump as the blob and smash the humans instead of just running into them. pixel art is pleasant. Good work lads

Cargo Rats by entirelyBees 2020-04-21T04:53:41Z

Game looks pretty decent it has a nice atmosphere. Could use some sounds or music to help enhance that. The controls are very delayed upping the artificial difficulty a bit. I decided eventually to just save one rat, myself, and walk thought the levels. They are all pretty similar you just push a box or two and rally your rats.

Noble by SludgeKey 2020-04-22T20:43:19Z

Really fun and interesting sim. I love the crest art, noble factions, and medieval stuff so this was smashing. For some reason when I got to my seventh generation it stopped letting match new suitors. I would be interested to see a screen at the end of my tree that I could analyze for fun after. This does feel like an excellent system for a bigger game of some sort, like a rouge like or medieval conquest game. If you take this further please let me know! Awesome work!

Sunlit by palsina 2020-04-21T23:56:16Z

This game is very calm, peaceful, and forgiving to the player, which is unique in itself. I grew my tree to about 50 feet and was enjoying it until I accidentally cut down a important supporting branch lol. Then I literally cut my tree at the trunk and it just grew back magnificently and then I made it all black with no sunlight, but instead of losing I still had a nice looking dead tree to look at (which I could cut down to restart). There is an excellent feeling of minimalism and beauty when playing this game. To me it is more of an interactive art piece than a "game" in the traditional sense. Inspiring piece of work, great job.

Once Bear Got a Job at Hell by Rexagon 2020-04-22T20:08:06Z

The art style is incredible I really enjoyed that part of it. Game play wise I was a tad confused about how I was doing and what I was doing, I assumed I was supposed to throw the wood in the fire and the people in the pot?The rounds went really fast with water flooding almost instantly. But that being said I thought it was really cool with the art and the uh interesting beginning cinematic. I think if things started slower and were explained a bit more this could be a really fun game.

Cat Shelter Simulator by Fat cat 2020-04-22T19:57:35Z

I like cats, so I am basis, but this was really good. The only thing that bothered me was camera movement. I wish I could move the cam around and look at my cats. Its a pretty cohesive Sim game for just a weekend of work, Very nice job!

Space Ranger by LuCecyl 2020-04-21T05:03:19Z

This game is visual very pleasant and polished nicely. It took me a while to get used to controlling the little astronaut man, unfortunately hes bad at his job lol. The planets defenses do just fine without him, actually they are OP. This game has a lot of potential and I think the next steps are to add some kind of difficultly progression or different levels or modes that are more challenging for the player. Excellent work Space Rangers!

4 coins by Vertuga32 2020-04-21T00:58:21Z

Really liked the art and the sound makes a pretty nice atmosphere. Could have used less humm sounds. I gave up after getting two coins couldn't figure out the bird or the fishing rod. Very interesting point and click concept, but I just couldn't figure it out. I don't really know why as a ghost i both cant walk through things or fly though haha. Bummer you opted out of the graphics section, the background aesthetic was probably my favorite part. Nice work

GenerationZzz by ivananovakova 2020-04-23T22:01:21Z

@big-evil-corporation The trick is to jump around with space you float in the air lol. I also really liked the dreamscape aesthetic with 2d elements mixed in with 3D. The mechanics are a bit bland and this isnt at a polished state yet, but as you are Gen Z (maybe) you have a lot of time to mess around and improve your gamemaking skills! Since their isnt much else for you to do I would suggest playing and rating other peoples games for this competition! If you like them you can even dream about them haha.

TP Defender by Alex Weiser 2020-04-21T15:35:25Z

@vulgaris Currently the waves get harder and faster each time until it become impossible to defend yourself, or your fingers give out I guess lol. I agree though there are only two enemy types and I considered limiting ammo, shortages of toilet paper... but I really liked the fast pace feel of Corona virus hordes swarming in on you as you spam unlimited toilet paper at them.

TP Defender by Alex Weiser 2020-04-26T19:05:48Z

@fetaprodmout @rodpraet @faber @ondrasej @rasheed @savvu Thank you for the compliments and kind wishes I am glad you enjoyed the experience. Humor was my main goal, I wanted to convey current events in a humorous way for players to enjoy during this dark time. I will try to play and review all of your games as well before the end of the competition. Good luck to you all as well and stay healthy! Keep your toilet paper close, you may need it.

Feed The Fire by Nuanda79 2020-04-21T18:13:01Z

Fun game! I struggled at first even with all the good instructions I just wanted to burn everything lol. I tried using the sword to kill the aliens, but alas this is a peaceful game about burning things with fire. The game looks very nice and the fire animation in the middle is excellent, which is key as it is the focal point of the game. Once I really got the fire going I had to wait to add more stuff as to not waste them, I kind of wanted to make a super huge bonfire and got over the max limit. Really nice game-play overall and solid theme based concept. Good work! You can take the rest of the week off.

Miracle by Maroon_goof 2020-04-21T04:45:41Z

The art reminds me a lot of the game maker games I would make growing up. There isn't really any game play, but an interesting little story that lasts for a minute or two. If you full screen the game the controls didn't work in the dialog so I thought it didn't work at first. Cute cat dog things.
