I got stuck on level geometry, a fitting end. I do like the multitasking requirement and the silly animations
You sir, have a very big brain! Innovative and more fun than the screenshot suggests.
I like what you have here. I like the shooting minigame while answering questions. However it was lost on me what was happening as I was learning things. What did a bigger brain do, gameplay wise? Game got stuck so I didn't get to finish it.
Great game, loved how you are required to multitask during the shoot'n up portions of the game, really fun and creative concept.
Really nice Idea :) Not sure if I played till the end... so obviously my brain is not the "brain of galaxies" ;)
Weird game, but i enjoined it.
Big braiin stuff, but I got stuck in Nasa when the character independently walked under the green looking blob (that I assume am an alien)Capture3.JPG
@sver @demuss @hajden @seabird @callavicka @daanvanyperen @susumu-asaga Holy wow thank you all for the feedback and comments! The game's a bit of joke but it's heartwarming to hear people enjoyed it. And @itsdanidre thanks for being a GALAXY BRAIN and making it all the way to NASA! The build we threw up at 6 had a fair number of issues, including the alien floating up there, but we should have some fixes and sounds added in the coming days.
Thanks again, I'll be playing all your games once I'm home!
@sver @demuss @hajden @seabird @callavicka @daanvanyperen @susumu-asaga audio is a really important part of the humor and story of this game, but unfortunately we didn't have time to put it in before the end of the jam. Will be putting the audio in Wednesday!
Hello, The style is pretty surprising, the mix between the discover stage and the shoot them up make some dinamism which is very good. I dosn't really like this type of game but I pass a good moment.
Haha what a great game. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, and I found the idea of a touhou styled game with trivia was surprisingly fun. The alphabet stage was really tricky but felt fair. And after that, the programming jokes and thermo questions were real big brain stuff lol. Super fun experience!
love the bullet hell sequences, the split attention concept is something i've been playing with too and really appreciate seeing this implementation. there were definitely some "wtf is going on" moments (especially around some of the trial-and-error challenges) - overall I thought it was pretty funny and i played it for a lot longer than i expected to.
my guy got stuck on the tuba, but the game looks good and the man walks around funny
Dope game! I really like the style. The mashup is crazy, but a lot of fun and I dig the music in the shooter stages. Great work
I also got stuck at nasa with the floating gummy bear and a non-interactive guy.
The game has very nice idea and I really like the walking animation from the beginning till you got smarter. Also the Q&A while doing the shooting game was surprisingly fun.
Criqiue: - I didn't really now what actually changed while getting smarter (except the walking animation) - Ending is probably not real ending but just a bug - No sounds in the non-shooting parts
Are there actual short and correct answers to the last questions in the shooting game?..
Overall very nice idea and so far the best take on the actual theme I've seen :)
I try to open big brain boy (BBB for short) for a big brain boy (BBB for short) like me and it says brainlet_simulator, tricked again. Got stuck at the green blob too. A shame, because I really loved this game. I was in tears during the neurons activated section with the computer. Truly whoever made this must have the most galaxiest of brains
Hi i rly liked the game gj Got stuck in NASA - I see the lil green boy up there but cant move anymore. I really liked the humor and the neural segments. universe brain/10
@hydezeke oh SHUCKS thanks so much for playing, we just added a patched version with an exclusive cinemachine animation waiting for the bulbous brains out there, with an audio overhaul and some bug squashes (((some))). We highly suggest everyone try out the GALAXY EDITION!
(edit: galaxy edition isn't up yet, we'll try to have get it out ASAP!)
(editit: it's out!!)
English was not my first language but I couldn't solve the problem quickly. But it's fun. It's a new game. Thanks for the development team.
Played OG until I got stuck in Nasa as some others have mentioned :3
I really liked progression of the bullet hell, it surprised me with new and interesting difficulty each time
some feedback on feedback: * it took me a while to realize the impossible to answer questions took away a life each time and that felt kind of bad. * Having the same blinking effect for when you win as when you take damage definitely feels weird
Music was really good, reminded me of shovel knight
Overall, charming derpy game :p
how dare you make me do math and play a shmup at the same time!
on the other hand this game is 69/420% going to give you the biggest brain you can achieve or your money back guaranteed. spastically fun it offers a truely immersive experience into learning things the average human brain couldn't possibly begin to fathom, a true man of culture and learning and science. only the biggest brains can grasp it's subtle and advanced humor for this is one of the smartest, NAY THE SMARTEST GAME EVER! it's filled with drama and intrigue and life lessons, all while expanding your mind to levels not humanly possible before!
"grrrrr, duu, grrr!", some of the greatest voice-actting in all of history and such inspirational quotes too. this truely is a game you must play if you want to elevate your health and intelligence, it changed my life.
solid 5/7 -ign
I liked the meme humor, the phases where you had to both answer questions and avoid the bullets were fun :)
@niborious I don't think there is any "impossible to answer question", it's just that the answer to these seemingly impossible questions is not the entire demonstration of the theorems and stuff ^^ (there is no actual question in these ""questions"" when you think about it :)
I really enjoyed the neuron activator parts of the game, I would honestly just play a whole game like that haha. Nice job!
pretty interesting idea that was well executed -- really liked answering questions and trying to shoot aliens at the same time -- thanks for making this
@niborious thanks for the feedback! Yeah, in the OG edition without voice acting a lot of actions don't read well, such as taking damage from not answering a question. There's definitely more work we could do to make the gameplay clearer without being overbearing.
@gigahood BASED. Was there enough water though??
@gamefive @penguinboy @paulhocker Thank you! I'll play your games soon!
@inferture Heh yep, by the time you get to the thermodynamics questions it's meant to be a total joke. We tried to keep the difficulty of the bullet hell pretty toned down so that even with inevitably taking 3 damage from those questions you can make it through. You also gain one brain after each death and eventually become invincible to ensure everyone can get a full playthrough. There IS a dumb answer to all those questions though!
My team and I have created a game called The Greatest Game in the World. I now realize you are our greatest competitor. Congratulations
