LD44 — Your life is currency

Limberman by krasse 2019-04-30T10:34:35Z

I loved the art for this, and the moody, gritty tone was very consistent. I think the main issue is that starting with the 2 guns made me really powerful right from the start, so I didn't really have to sell anything to beat the game easily. But I think once it's balanced out and expanded, it could be a fun twist on a Binding of Isaac-style dungeon crawler.

BOB by Phyro 2019-04-30T02:55:55Z

This was really interesting, I love all the different characters and little animations. I wish there was some kind of visible way to tell how unhappy your people are, how many defenses you have, etc. because it took me a few playthroughs to figure out how it worked.

APIS by Zarkonnen 2019-04-30T11:02:28Z

The little swarm of bees looks great, and works very well even when splitting up jobs between multiple flowers. I think some of the enemies like the rat (?) could be more clear in what they were doing- I wasn't sure if it was going for my bees or my honey, or both. I haven't seen anyone else do this take on the theme and it fits very well!

The Harvest by machinescreen 2019-04-30T01:47:07Z

The simple pixel style really works for this, and the sounds are really satisfying. I was confused at first, but it's fun once it gets going.

The Reaper by fixedgerald 2019-04-30T02:43:36Z

This was a fun one to play! The graphics are simple but easy to understand, and the twist on the theme is cute. The level design also ramps up satisfyingly as you get farther!

Ancestry by wolderado 2019-04-30T10:04:00Z

This was really fun! The graphics were simple, but easy to understand and little details like the screenshake and particles made it satisfying. Even though the enemies were pretty simple, the difficulty really ramps up toward the end into that proper, frantic bullet-hell state.

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-04-30T02:20:06Z

The funniest game I've played so far this jam, and also really fun to play. The war footage playing in the background genuinely made me crack up.

Die Back by NikolayKuznetsov 2019-04-30T02:31:11Z

This is one of my favorite art styles I've seen in the jam! Everything from the buttons, icons, to attack animations looks so thematic, and the concept of the game is great.

A Deal with the Devil by OmnipotentIndie 2019-04-30T02:00:25Z

Loved the music and the buttons / shots were satisfying! I'm shockingly bad at it, usually didn't have enough spare hearts to buy anything lol.

Broker by EstuvoMuyBien 2019-04-30T03:21:29Z

The "you get no help" genuinely made me laugh, lol. This is really well done- I like the subtle effects to make it truly look like a retro computer screen. Might have been nice to add a bit of a twist to make it fit closer to the theme.

Hell's Pinball by Valden 2019-04-30T01:56:29Z

Genuinely got really hyped when the music started. The graphics are great and satisfying sound effects!

World Class Track Meat by Dan Thompson 2019-04-30T01:34:14Z

Best title and hilarious premise. Impressed by my discus abilities, considering I played without arms.

Death Coin Battle Royale by ZakAmana 2019-04-30T10:45:06Z

I was sure it would be a typo when it said "play AS 100 players"... but nope, you literally play all 100. The tone is hilarious and I was genuinely impressed with how many characters and items there were- what a weird, fun concept and I'd honestly play a ton of a polished version of this game.

Snek Farm by t3nshi 2019-04-30T03:06:22Z

I was so delighted by this game! Fits the theme really well in a totally different way than I've seen any of the other games do it. It feels polished and fun, and the audio makes it really satisfying. I feel like I'm going to come back to this to play it in my free time!

Labour Micro by Luther-1 2019-04-30T10:20:36Z

This is really cute! I think the little floating, attached menus would be great to implement into a larger game or continue using if you keep building this one to have multiple levels and workers.

Timing of Ignatius by Danielk 2019-04-30T10:28:03Z

The gameplay is a bit similar to my team's game! I think having multiple different types of enemies or attacks would make it more interesting, but the enemies and mechanics that are in place are fun and work smoothly. The audio feedback is a nice touch to make it clear when time is getting low.

Danko by Pixel_Error 2019-04-30T01:50:33Z

Wow! Honestly, this is just our game but executed better  The pixel art is amazing, the sound effects are really satisfying, and the menu for sacrifices is really well done and cool. One of my faves of this jam so far.

The Boxer's Pact: Fausts of Fury by ScalphaMission 2019-04-30T03:32:11Z

This was way more complex than I expected! I love the cell-shaded 3d graphics and obviously a lot of thought went into the skill trees. I think in this case the photographs looked sort of jarring, maybe could look better if there was a filter on them to make them look a bit more like illustrations.

Deal With The Devil by Sangemdoko 2019-04-30T09:51:08Z

This had a great tone! The devil's dialogue was genuinely funny and the concept was unique and fit the theme in a fun way. Since it's pretty short I honestly think you could have made it harder- having obstacles cost more life if you run through them, or starting with less life to begin with.

Zombears by Arman_Dot_Com 2019-04-30T02:26:59Z

Love the graphics, and the sound effects were really satisfying. I found it really hard to wade through the giant wave of zombies to actually get to the shop!

The Ends by Memory of God 2019-04-30T02:16:04Z

The art style and tone are amazing. I like the keymashing-to-type imput. Is the amount of time you can type for until you pass out randomized, or is there something to it? Sometimes I passed out very quickly, other times I could get through almost a whole bar of typing.

Gaia Hero by DigitalWizard 2019-04-30T02:59:48Z

I found the menu kind of confusing and hard to read while also playing the game, but the audio was really well done and pretty, and the premise is interesting!

Kaide and the Bloody Sacrifices by Kritz 2019-04-30T01:24:33Z

Cute pixel art, especially on the main menu and shop! And the attack animations are very satisfying.

Currencies of Life by Bartman 2019-04-30T11:09:46Z

This one was fun! I think your web high score list is broken, and there were some bugs where bullets would just disappear instead of hitting enemies. Other than that, it ran very smoothly, and had a good balance between being almost-overwhelming when enemies were sped up and still challenging when enemies were slow.

Zap by ArturNista 2019-04-30T03:17:03Z

The particle effects for the energy and characters were very cute! Unfortunately I ran into a lot of bugs that made it tough to play, but if it were more polished I'd love to come back and take another look.

Blood Debt by FriedYeti 2019-04-30T02:23:58Z

The pixel graphics are really cute! The symbols along the top were kind of confusing / not completely obvious at first, but once I figured out what everything was it was very fun. I like really like the twist on the clicker game format.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Peak Performance by mmason 2019-10-08T04:16:46Z

The idea was really interesting, though it took me a while to figure out what to do! A different take on the theme than what I've seen so far.

Small Mouse, BIG SHOES! by UnitedFailures 2019-10-08T04:06:44Z

I'll admit the music combined with that dumb sheep rolling around had me laughing out loud.

Loot Simulator 2019 by Adam Gaskins 2019-10-08T04:23:04Z

I really liked the progression of power-ups and abilities, made it interesting to play and even though the graphics were simple it was easy to tell what was happening and controlled well. It got pretty laggy for me as the game went on but if that were fixed I'd definitely play this again.

Scrap Spaceship by Nisovin 2019-10-08T04:03:23Z

The concept of putting together your spaceship is great! I also liked the one-at-a-time in-game control popups, much easier to follow than a long list of complicated controls.

No Body by lizelive 2019-10-08T04:09:23Z

I'm honestly pretty confused by this but I admit I did laugh at the fortnite-dancing quest givers. I would've liked some clearer instructions on what to do in the world.

Undead Alley by Mungo_ 2019-10-08T04:00:05Z

I really enjoyed the polish of this! The concept is simple but the sounds, pixel art style, animations and concept all work really well together. The zombies bugged out and just stood around instead of attacking me kind of frequently but aside from that everything controlled well and made sense.

Minno by --0 2019-10-08T04:30:17Z

I really love this concept, I've never played anything quite like it! Even though the concept is really simple I found some of them very challenging and satisfying to solve.

Finding fun by ZMVL 2019-10-08T04:12:38Z

I loved this! More like 4 minigames than a full game but the consistent art style tied everything together. Also I have no idea if this was a bug or a feature but in the fighting minigame my guy just walked in and then walked away before I could do a single move, which was hilarious. I'd love to see this developed more!

Soulful by aconfusedragon 2019-10-08T04:19:12Z

The graphics and music are incredible! Everything is so cute and works together so well, really makes the game fun to play. Also the first mobile-optimized game I've played in the jam, which is cool!

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Sword of Saturn by tinykidtoo 2020-04-21T02:09:39Z

The screen shake and splatters really helped make it satisfying, and I liked the way the world opened up slowly as the barriers disappeared!

Virus Simulator by Sli 2020-04-21T02:23:18Z

Like a reverse Plague Inc! I liked this take, though I was able to win pretty fast by just spamming every option available.

Feed da Boss! by Eli Palmer 2020-04-21T02:15:49Z

The art, sound effects, and concept work so well together! It's also surprisingly difficult.

Greedy Monsters by Yadir2447 2020-04-21T02:18:40Z

The graphics are adorable! Seconding what others have said about the controls feeling "slippery", but the speed makes it more exciting to play.
