Great game, loved the combat and the idea was very cool. upgrades felt substantial which is great. The small screen + very red color palette made it a bit hard to se sometimes but otherwise very cool.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → A Deal with the Devil

Freaking nice game! Would benefit from having some feedback built in such as when the player loses a live, you only heart a faint sound effect.
Love the color choices in the game itself, beginning text was hard to read though. That devil in the shop looks really cool; powerups were nice. Cool game :)
Great game with nice music =). Too much clicking tho =)
Sick guitar! Love the powerups. I chose "dash" pretty early on - it did not feel intuitive (to me) for the dash to travel toward the mouse. I was expecting to dash in the direction I was moving. It got a little dicey since much of the game is spent running away from the badguys while still _aiming_ at them - I ended up dashing _toward them_ when I was trying to run away.
I enjoyed it. Great job!
Colors are fighting together, and don't fits.
Gameplay is well planned and created
theme fits
In the overall it's fun, but lacks of graphic clearness to be ok
Keep going and work in a post jam version to improve yourself and your product :)
thanks for your work and have fun!
Reminds me of Hotline Miami and Nuclear Throne. Fun game!
Nice game. Dash feels strange to use though, I expected to be dashing where I move.
The game looks awesome, I'll come back later when I have a mouse to play!
I beat the game THEN realized I could upgrade...whoops. Nice game! Well done!
well that was fun. reminded me a lot of Enter the Gungeon
Fun little shooter. Just wish there was an option to hold the mouse button instead because the rapid clicking is not great for rsi.
@kovakomes yeah haha. I've had comments that all my previous ludum dare games were too hard, so i tried to tone it down a bit this one, maybe a bit too far. Thanks so much
Loved the music and the buttons / shots were satisfying! I'm shockingly bad at it, usually didn't have enough spare hearts to buy anything lol.
Great game! Gave me vibes from Nuclear Throne / Gungeon -- completely forgot about upgrading and dashing, until the end of the game. :[
I like the idea and the devil looks really cool!
Cool! Does it have a win condition? I beat level 4 but could continue playing
@cheesepencil No, that's it. I kind of let you keep going in case anyone wanted to play around with the powerups but I probably should've put a win screen
@entirelybees haha yeah, that's probably my biggest gripe with the game's design. Less experienced players end up having a harder time while the more capable people are given even more tactics and it becomes even easier for them.
Hell yeah. Super fun game. Makes me want to do something similar. And nice riffing :D
Nice! Man, this is very similar to my game, I like it)
well, the game is kinda bland. it looks like a Vlambeer game but with nothing inovative. I didn't played long enough to see the deal mechanic but if this is the only thing that makes your game different, that's a problem.
@neithernathan sorry you feel that way. Seeing as the deal mechanic is kind of a crucial part of the game, I'd appreciate if you actually experienced it before you rated the game. While I agree that the game overall isn't super original, I also think that the deal mechanic does add a lot of variety, with new abilities and systems.
great job ! I really dug the art and the general flow of the gameplay
Wow, loved the graphics and the style. I wish the game screen was bigger or there was a fullscreen option in html5 version :)
