Nice game, simple music but it really works. Congrats

Nice game, simple music but it really works. Congrats
Love the art style, great sounds too. I only wish the character could have been animated but im guessing you didn't get the time to do it
Beautiful game, the art is great. Do you plan on continuing it? because I feel like with more content this could be a thing
Loved it, music is great. I could see this turn into a full game if you were to set up stages. great job
Love the game, the only problem is i got stuck when a ball kept rolling sometimes
Great game, love how the flying gets less and less strong, feels as realistic as a chicken in a pyramid can get
@memel06 Thanks man, I was actually making this to see how this sort of combat would fit in a larger game, and it seems decent (although some form of breaks from battle are needed sometimes if the game lasts more than 5 minutes). Anyways, thanks for the feedback
This was awesome, loved the animations and the amount of polish is insane. Great job.
Great game, loved the combat and the idea was very cool. upgrades felt substantial which is great. The small screen + very red color palette made it a bit hard to se sometimes but otherwise very cool.
Fun game, I enjoyed the are and the concept. It's an interesting idea to have to avoid the demon while feeding it. I wish there could have been more scenarios with it but great job for 48h ^-^
I loved this game. The music fit perfectly. The cards were fun and there was rarely a correct choice. I managed to get pretty far and after a while the gods didn't matter much because I'd ammased so many villagers. I feel like the dificulty curve was too low (punishments should be turn number /2 or something like that) so that keeping sacrifices is really needed. Anyways, Amazing job !
Love the walk cycle!
Great Moneyball sprite, the game had a great feel
Cool idea that is well executed. The buttons could have been a bit more forgiving (activate at 75% or +) so that you dont fail by slightly overjumping but it still worked really well! Congrats
Interesting game, although I'm unsure how it fits with the theme. the drone was fun to control and I liked the beam effect
This game is amazing for a 48 hour game. With that said I do think the combat felt a bit wonky sometimes but it is completely acceptable for the time given
Love the pushback mechanic, although it felt a bit too slidy at times if I was moving in the same direction i boosted. Great game!
This is such a cool idea. It's the most theme fitting game I've seen so far. I can't say clicking on circles was fun but clearly thats the point. The actual gameplay lacked a bit of punch but the idea was very well executed. Good job!
Got an unkillable enemy but I had fun beforehand. Cool cards and things work well in general. Enemies are a bit too bullet spongey at the start imo
Thanks so much @phil-c! Very happy to hear you enjoyed it. Yep, sadly I was working away from my home setup and forgot to download FL studio on my laptop beforehand so I didn't get the chance to make a quick tune (which might be for the best bacause I'm terrible at music anyhow ^^)
@nachtwitch Thanks a lot! honestly I wasn't sure about the art style I chose so it's nice to hear good things ^^. Also just to clarify I was in the compo so the time limit is 48 hours... I have a project I am working on currently which is totally different (action rogue-lite platformer), but honestly I thought about it last night and it might be fun to do a 1 month version of this game and see how far I can get with it, if it's good enough maybe put it on Steam... idk, but I'll think about it.
@celmer89 Thanks, Yea a few more would have been nice but sadly I settled on large UI button size and could't afford to change it to make more space. Also not sure how far you got but you do unlock more as you go and based on day/night time
Hey @locomule, no only a few actions were meant to be idle... thanks for the feedback, I thought it should be hard since from what I know getting out of homelessness isn't easy (and neither is game dev ^^). One tip is to check out the city at night for a way to make some quick cash. But yea once you buy the bed it gets easier to not hemorrhage money. (also bar is not required or recommended early)
@humphreysmedia Thanks for the feedback... I did make the progression slow mostly by design because I wanted this game like an idle game where you don't always go up, so difficulty was part of the plan... I do think I would reduce it if this wasn't a jam game though.
@jharler Looks like I'm not very good at listening to my own warnings then ^^'
Not sure if anyone's mentioned this (i read first few comments), but I got 2 guys stuck on top of eachother and they ended the game is 2 seconds by spawning tons of hearts.
Looks epic and plays very well. Not that much depth as I will agree with a few other comments that once I had fireball i became unkillable but this was fun anyhow. Great Job!
The crafting felt really enjoyable and this is a nice variation on the rogue-lite formula. I ran into some issues with the combat however, I feel a downward and upward attack would have made it feel less clunky
Fun game with a cool aesthetic. Loved the look of the little alien guys. The only thing that bothered me is that I didn't see a reason not to steal as I believe I would lose half if they stole no matter if I stole or split, I guess I didn't see a reason to care how much the aliens had.
Fun game with a cool plot. I enjoyed my time with it! I do wish text speed was faster so replaying sections wouldn't be so slow. Loved the speech animation ^^
I had fun, especially when I let myself forget about consequances and avoid minmaxing instead going for what felt more like me. Great mood! Nitpick but a sound when you click on a card would have made it a bit more engaging.
This idea is really cool! I don't think it would work as a full game, but as a game jam game I had a lot of fun. Loved the big headed guy ^^
Fun game. I couldn't figure out if there was a point in evolving but moving around and gtting all the orbs was fun
Super fun! I agree that the roll being controllled by the second stick felt a bit awkward at first but I got used to it after a bit. Bosses were simple but cool and overall you pushed the polish very high. Nice job ^^
looks great, you should check out snakebird if you want to see a fully realized version of this. love the puzzles.
dope game, super addictive. Respawn points are a bit janky but understandable with the time constrain.
Great job.
Love the artstyle, very clean looking. A cool approach to the theme and although I feel like the game requires you to be aware of a few too many things at once, it is really fun to play.
If i were to add one thing I would put in an effect every time the beat hits (like necromancer does) to keep the tempo more easy to follow.
Love the idea, sadly it caused a lot of lag on my end. Still a great project and love the look of it, keep it up man
Love the concept and the artstyle, great job.
That distortion effect looks very good and helps differentiate your game from all the other ones out there. Very solid game
Love it. not too theme heavy but that's fine. Great game and great feel to it. If you don't mind sharing what did you use for your music?
Solid concept and well executed. It's hard but it's not frustrating.
One thing you could try adding is revealing the level at the end to make the player realize exactly what they were facing.
