Cool idea!
I wish this had been what the movie "Stargate" was about...

Cool idea!
I wish this had been what the movie "Stargate" was about...
Nice game, simple music but it really works. Congrats
pure genius :D
Nice game, fitting soundtrack. I don't like the mixed artstyles though (comic mixed with pixels). Feels like cat god galaga on earth.
Simple but complete.
The music is the best part for me.
Cool game. 1 question is why cats ?
Oh my, we used the same font =))) I didn't get the mechanics yet (if it's not just about clicking as fast as possible), but it's a nice twist on alien invaders topic!
Nice game. I've always wanted to throw cats at aliens. :3
It got a bit boring after a little while though. ._.
I love the cat projectiles :D And the cat lady too :D
It gets boring quickly though, as all Space Invaders clones I guess :/ The music is nice as well.
Nice challenging game, it took me 5 tries to beat the last level, but the mixed art styles are pretty strange.
nice and well balanced!
Interesting take on space invaders with added mechanics, but some of the sound effects were a bit heavy on the ears.
It kind of lacks the aim/skill element of other similar games, right now you're just kinda flinging cats as fast as you can, I guess that's also the reason you made the aliens take 3-4 hits.
Nice quick and fun game, the difficulty scales quite well, too.
I wish it was possible to keep holding the fire key, rather than clicking again and again.
And for the sfx... please filter out the higher frequencies in your risers.
I absolutely loved the shadow coming closer in the background scenery, by the way :)
@SimonHutchinson @pokenoufl @kuro @neural @DiegoCTorguet - Thanks for the feedback!
@QwaKlak @facelesstheone @CMLSC @wheerd @lightsoda - I was planning on doing more Egyptian gods but you know how Jams go... So all we got was Bastet, cat lady god, and her cat children!
@kndx123 @Vaiaphraim - I had aquired some other FXs online but by the submission time I saw I had to make them myself, so I had to ditch those and ended up making new ones out of the SFX generator offered in the tools page with less than enough time to give it the attention it deserved. :(
@onyon @Evilperson77 - I'm not an artist, it's my first time trying to draw for a game, if you guys can give me any specific tips it would be most appreciated!
Thank you all for the feedback, that's why Ludum Dare is the #1 Jam in the world!
<3 SPACE INVADER
Brings me back to childhood.
One idea thou, it would be nice it I could just hold ctrl instaed of mashing it! :D
@RafaCP - I think the art should just be more consistent. For example the bubble-spaceship enemies look really out of place next to the space-invader-like enemies.
Also I noticed you made Xbox controller support, which I honestly doubt was worth it, seeing as you were struggling for time with the sounds. Unless it's easy to implement support for that, I don't know, I never really tried.
Hope to see you in the next jam :D
I agree with the others that it would be nice with a more consistent artstyle. The game got kind of repetitive, but it was still a cool twist at the space invaders.
very nice spin off of "space invader" , the control smooth enough, i like the aesthetic overall, but the music, while its catchy, i didnt feel like its match with the theme
and its quite weird that the at level 2, the blocks much faster destroyed by aliens than in level 1
Cool, space invaders with the bad guy from sonic and cats, with an Egyptian theme.
Great game. I like the font.^^
You know it's been a long time since I played space invaders, thanks for that. Is it odd that I knew it was Bastet before I read the description?
Realy cool game good job
The weapon was the best part :D
Bom ver brazucas baianos fazendo joguinhos!
I would personally prefer if the player moved faster, the cats dealt more damage - and the enemy shots were faster as well to compensate.
The art style could also be more coherent because the resolution seems to vary among some of the assets, and the color palette could be more focused. A video I discovered some time ago talks about
this if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34sAfLi9YLE
