LD35 — Shapeshift

2D-Tris by Monofraps 2016-04-21T19:38:00

This is really an enjoyable twist on the classic game. I like that even if you make a mistake, you can reverse it by just flipping the board around. It's a neat undo mechanic. Nice concept.

Bloody Party by freeloader 2016-04-18T20:01:00

I love how big the map is in this. Could allow for a range of level types and gameplay opportunities. Really neat idea and the music is awesome! I would love to see this game extended with animations, levels, etc... Dark theme but fun to play.

The Big Fist by matt beckett 2016-04-21T19:32:00

This is a really neat game mechanic. There is a lot of interesting level design possibilities with this. It's really fun to try and figure out how to horizontally position yourself to get the coins with the big fist. Great concept.

Origami Ride by MartinFernandez 2016-04-21T19:47:00

Neat little game. The game on Gamejolt seems to be cut off slightly on my chrome browser for some reason. Score is halfway cut off, so it's difficult to see my distance :(

FLESH TO STONE by tjmolinski 2016-04-18T19:35:00

Loved the music and sound effects in the game. The atmosphere is also really good. The game was a bit on the difficult side for me, might be nice to have a health/heart system. The bouncing intro is also a really nice touch

Red Vs Blue by kuhnerdm 2016-04-21T19:27:00

Really like the floaty controls and the floaty camera. Nice concept of only being able to hit like-color enemies. Additional colors might make for some more varied gameplay.

Infinitum by jyeray 2016-04-18T19:52:00

I like reading about the backstory of infinitum and it's cool that you get to play as the new discovery. Game is pretty challenging. Wasn't able to get far enough to test out the powers of the other shapes, but all in all I Iiked the concept.

KAIJU VS by plko 2016-04-21T19:43:00

I should be nicer to my Kaiju

Go Away, Zeus! by Crimson713 2016-04-18T19:39:00

Took me a while to get what was happening, but once I did I really liked the game. Sound effects are awesome!

CLIQUE by iendsl 2016-04-18T19:44:00

Poopy Demons for the win! Also, +1 for the wolf sweatshirt

LD42 — Running out of space

The Battle for the Earth by baconsenpaii 2018-08-14T16:12:54Z

Neat little story. The presentation is clean and elegant. What did you use to create?

Cartoon Tactics by Jiri Hysek 2018-08-13T16:23:32Z

Really liked this little gem. Love that the the game board falls down around you and closes in. The sound effects cracked me up too. The action point system looks like it would add a layer of depth and strategy as well.

My bit of feedback: Maybe start the player closer to the enemies so that they can get right into the action. My first few turns were just movement. Skipping to the action right away might be a bit more fun.

Great work!

SHOOTAN by Mehozavr 2018-08-13T18:47:17Z

Fantastic graphics. The pop-up ads give an interesting take on the wave shooting gameplay. I think what would improve the gameplay slightly is the ability to switch weapons. The weapons could also be more or less effective against different enemies.

Great work!

Evolucity - Build as high as you can! by Mazzletov 2018-08-14T16:29:04Z

This was a fun jenga type game. Trying to build a house of cards is always fun. The graphics and presentation are very clean. Everything felt responsive and nice. Great work.

My bit of feedback: Kind of like tetris, it might be nice to have a preview of the the upcoming level or building that you will be able to place next. The player can perhaps strategize the best way to move forward.

All in all, a good time. Great work!

Goblin' Up Loot by teddynashor 2018-08-13T16:49:57Z

Good shit Teddy! Was a little confused as to what to do at first, but got the hang of it. Dope art. It's actually a lot of fun to just flick items arounds with the physics.

LD45 — Start with nothing

NOTHING TO LOSE by Seththefirst 2019-10-07T18:11:31Z

Impressive how much you were able to implement during the jam. I like the characters and the animations. The movement and purchasing food and camps was fluid and worked well. I think the combat could be sped up a little but other than that this is really good work

Church Demo by King Kujito 2019-10-07T17:38:50Z

I really like the mood and atmosphere of the game. I wanted to get the orb at the top of the church but couldn't figure out how to do it. Once I got the wings and glide though, I couldn't stop jumping and gliding everywhere.

Awaken by aaranos 2019-10-07T23:39:15Z

Fun little game, I enjoyed running around trying to search for weapons and dodge those slime thingys. I wasn't able to figure out how to pick up weapons though. I kept pressing E/X but it wasn't doing anything. So I just fought with my fists :P

Ignis Universia: Eternal Sister Saga by arzi 2019-10-07T23:01:30Z

such a well fleshed out game! Congrats. The art looks amazing and the story is engaging as well. There's a nice sprinkle of humor in there as well. Great job making this.

GREEN DOG by unima9000 2019-10-07T16:05:05Z

I seriously don't know what I just played... but it was mind-blowingly amazing. There aren't words. Great job on this. Top performance in mood, atmosphere and audio. I'll be looking out for more of your work.

Naught. by mutuware 2019-10-07T18:37:06Z

It took me a second to find my avatar, but I love the idea of playing as a pixel. The mood felt oddly calming in a good way, I think that's do to the music selection. My only suggestion is to maybe try making the platforms less slippery, I kept sliding of them once I jumped. Other than that, great work!

The Hobo’s Guide to the Galaxy by KonH 2019-10-07T16:12:58Z

Great work on this game! Plenty of levels with a good ramp up in difficulty. The mechanic was simple to understand. My biggest frustration with the game were the controls, I felt like the mouse movement was a bit to twitchy which made precision more difficult. Also trying to rotate the character towards the edge of the screen became a challenge as well. That said I really enjoyed this game. Great work.

Ultra Quest by 100th_Coin 2019-10-07T15:35:21Z

Fun game. Great level of polish. The screen transitions were smooth and I like how the mechanic of throwing rocks builds on itself as you progress further into the game. I noticed some weirdness when you threw the rock sometimes. It would just get stuck in mid air for some reason. All in all a nice polished game. Fantastic job.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-06T19:22:38Z

@brallex thank you so much! And thank you for playing.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T16:20:17Z

@dazedhead @xacur @gabriele @clemonades @codeforjoycaro @kristinamay Thank you all so much for playing!

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T17:40:12Z

@zakamana @trusty @piturnah @idk-what-im-doing @toryf @adliberum Thanks for playing!

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T20:46:22Z

@djee Thank you so much for playing! The tool I used to make the music is called Ecrett. It's kind of like SFXR but for music.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T20:50:55Z

@polyethyleneglykol Great point about the spamming LMB. It was a hard design trade off to make: keep the cooldown timer between clicks or let the player go nuts. Letting the player go nuts felt more fun and gives you the option of choosing to spam LMB or not.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T21:06:46Z

@djee No worries at all! Hopefully the tool sees some love from those of us who are not great at making music :)

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-07T23:10:47Z

@geoff-nagy @barrier @sbrianz @jupiter-hadley @arzi Thank you for playing!

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-08T00:39:56Z

@purpledartfrog Thanks so much for letting me know. I'll look into that, but it seems to be an issue I'm seeing with Godot html games. Are you by any chance playing on Firefox and on Windows? If so perhaps try playing on chrome or downloading the Windows, Mac or Linux build. Again, thanks for letting me know about the issue and I'm sorry that was your first experience with the game.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-08T03:29:28Z

@umsee You're the first to catch the "Love thy fate" reference! Thanks so much for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-11T20:18:47Z

@pokenoufl Thank you for playing! I'm sorry you had that experience. There's some physics issues that'll need to be sorted out and I'll be sure to tackle that bug when I revisit the game. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-11T20:19:28Z

@joe-bustamante thank you for playing and thank you so much for the kind words.

No.thing by adliberum 2019-10-07T23:22:15Z

Ahh! I'm so happy to be playing a twine game, this is my first of the jam! Great job incorporating the theme in this. It's a clever game all around. Great work.

A Game about Nothing by earnso 2019-10-07T21:54:21Z

I'm stoked to be the first to comment and rate this game because it's such a gem! The mood and theme are on point. Great work with the voice over. Clever title. Great work!

Nightbirds by Jiri Hysek 2019-10-07T18:32:19Z

I really like the graphics and atmosphere you created. The flying was also a nice responsive mechanic. I ran into some collision issues, but other than that great work!

Space Cell by CiaranW 2019-10-07T22:52:52Z

Nice to see so many people using Godot! I really like the shield mechanic in the game! Great work!

LIFE IS HELL by crazywulf 2019-10-07T18:51:52Z

I died so many times on that first jump, then I discovered double jump. I couldn't get passed that part where there's a huge wall though. Nice platformer!

Castaways by GhostGoatsGames 2019-10-07T23:35:22Z

Whoa this is really neat. Took me a second to figure out how to move the character and then I realized it's like an RTS movement, which made sense when more people showed to be able to moved around for resources. Amazing work.

Rolley Sh❤t by Andreas Roschal 2019-10-07T23:24:43Z

I'm Firefox (windows) and unfortunately all I got was a blank black screen :( On the plus side, this looks like a godot game! Yay for Godot!

Genesis by BustosMan 2019-10-07T23:18:10Z

The atmosphere (no pun intended) is really strong in this game. I love the mood and how the various card interact with each other once they've been played. Great work!

Chopped mannequin by Gulfick 2019-10-07T20:22:05Z

Lol I wasn't able to collect a single body part, but I did thrash around my head like there was no tomorrow for a good while trying. Neat game!

Seed by Trusty 2019-10-07T17:02:36Z

The music was great! I really enjoyed this game from beginning to end, one of the most charming experiences I've played in the jam so far.

Blankspace by Dominium11 2019-10-07T20:32:56Z

I couldn't unlock the game for some reason. Any hints as to how to do it?

Updates by MarcoMing 2019-10-07T23:31:36Z

Interesting concept. The graphics you unlock as you navigate the 1's and 0's is really well done.

J'Accuse! by bobotast 2019-10-07T21:40:50Z

Neat little game. I found that some of the clues were contradictory, was this on purpose? All in all I enjoyed this pico :) great work!

Big Bang Trainee Program by Yrasin 2019-10-07T17:58:38Z

I was struggling to figure out what to do but eventually figured it out. Not before I randomly hit the explode button and this line: "such competence..." had me actually laughing out loud. Great job!

The Void by Bozarre 2019-10-07T17:33:16Z

Gameboy for the win! I like that you were able to incorporate space travel and landing on planets.

Writers Block by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-10-07T16:43:30Z

I really enjoyed this game! I can't put my finger on it, but it has an addictive quality to it. The UI work is amazing. Everything was easy to parse out and the notifications all worked flawlessly to show me where I needed to focus my attention. really really well done.

Vr.Punk by Ravenjm 2019-10-07T16:36:16Z

Hey, your game 404's, just a heads up

Land for Sheep by Pincushion 2019-10-07T15:47:11Z

Took me a while to get the game loop, but once I did I figured out the idea is to get something sustainable going. Neat idea. I did encounter a bug where it would say I was out of energy but I still had some left. My favorite aspect of the game was developing the land outwards. Good job.

Nix by slagathor 2019-10-07T20:19:12Z

Great job on the movement. It was a pleasant surprise when the game turned into a bullet hell/cat & mouse game. I also really like the color choice and aesthetics used in the game. Great work.

END WITH FIRE by ArithiPathic 2019-10-07T16:53:06Z

Unfortunately I'm unable to play. I can't get out of the opening intro screen.

Yogurt's Quest by Aurailus 2019-10-07T21:11:56Z

Love the aesthetic of this game. Platforming was a bit unforgiving, but everything else was really enjoyable. Great work!

Ludum Dare Simulator by Marcin J 2019-10-07T15:25:13Z

I love how meta this game is. Also, my favorite card was the "Marie Kondo Your Code"...too real. I encountered a couple bugs. I had all of one card at one point and sometimes the card would change whenever I hovered over it. It wasn't game breaking, but thought I'd bring it up. Great job!

Nothing Everything by James Beninger 2019-10-07T23:28:51Z

This is straight up fun! I like the reversal of the theme where you're gradually taking away things until there's nothing. I love that everything in the world can be interacted with and it all some physics properties to it.

The Thrill of the Loan by TJMcDonald 2019-10-07T20:27:49Z

Such a great little game. Humor, art and a narrative. This game has it all! I went big and then bigger...didn't turn out well for me unfortunately. I'd be curious to play again to see if there's multiple endings. Great job!

MerchantQuest by ItsBamboo 2019-10-07T18:17:51Z

Hurray for another Godot game! I felt guilty running around pick pocketing everyone, but a thiefs gotta do what a thiefs gotta do.

Nothing On Frontlines by Pavel Ivanov 2019-10-07T20:44:25Z

Great job tutorializing the gameplay in the opening menu. The wave really hits you from the get go, great job making this engaging.

Souliseum by RodPuig 2019-10-07T18:42:12Z

I enjoyed the wave based combat and that after each wave you go to choose what your upgrade was. I feel like that keeps the gameplay fresh. I think a little music would go along way in upping the mood. The graphics are really spot on. Great work!

Wipe It by BarracudaDisaster 2019-10-07T18:05:06Z

This game is humorously terrifying! I was cracking up the whole time and the people following you around snapping pictures was both hillarious and uncomfortable. The controls were the only thing I struggled with. Great work

Mr.Grind by iozsaygi 2019-10-07T20:38:32Z

Nice little clicker game. I think the timer between the truck showing up could be shorter which would then make the back and forth a bit more engaging. Other than that, great work!

a new beginning by Reasonable Games 2019-10-07T17:23:43Z

I liked the puzzles you incorporated with the box mechanic. The difficulty definitely kept me engaged. Good job!

Click-N-Move by TwinTurboDouche 2019-10-07T15:17:15Z

I love the charm of this game's graphics. It took me a while to figure out how to pick up weapons and shoot, but once I did I was off and running. Also! Props for using Godot, I'm happy to see that engine is being used a lot more. Did you make the "ooof" sound effect yourself? Love it.

The Defective Detective by Polyethyleneglykol 2019-10-07T19:02:35Z

Wow! This was great! Love the mood and the models. The radio is also great. I couldn't stop stapling!

Shadow Walker by SheepDog123 2019-10-07T17:16:26Z

Interesting game. I'm torn because I like the mechanic of having the path ahead hidden, but perhaps a hint for what's to come might be interesting as well. Great job!

Finding fun by ZMVL 2019-10-07T16:35:18Z

Wasn't able to find the game. It just 404'd

Boss Battle Royale by Gold5Games 2019-10-07T16:47:56Z

This is a neat idea. I liked the time pressure of having to keep moving and then grabbing what you can to go and take on the dragon. A bit more sound and music would add to the atmosphere and bring it up a level in quality. The art and animation is fantastic. Great work!

Egg Problem by Bry 2019-10-07T21:44:18Z

Nice little tower defense game. Well done! It was challenging in the beginning and then I thought I was getting the hang of it, but then it got difficult again. Fun game!

9 Rooms Many Buttons by PenguinBoy 2019-10-07T20:16:12Z

Interesting game, well done! I like the progression you implemented with how the level unfolds. My only struggle was with color choice and the sensitivity of the mouse. My eyes started to feel uncomfortable after a while. Other than that, great work!

7 Days by AppoxGames 2019-10-07T21:17:07Z

Such a great and innovative mechanic! I really enjoyed this a lot. I messed up a few times but it was tuned just perfectly for me to still be able to finish. Really great work. My only complaint is that the music didn't feel like it quite fit the feel and tone of the game, but that's a subjective critique. Everything else was great.

Snow Ball by Cryptex 2019-10-07T21:48:45Z

This was a fun little game. It reminded me a lot of Katamari Damacy! Great job!

Polterheist by Cral 2019-10-07T23:09:11Z

Great game with some great puzzles. The quality of this is also really high, amazing you were able to complete this during the jam. Great work! SFX is also perfect.

Lucifer's Rise by hydrate 2019-10-07T22:53:52Z

I think the build is broken unfortunately :(

Mullet Man and the Apocalypse by clemonades 2019-10-07T15:55:17Z

Fun game! The art looks great and I like the back story setup in the beginning. It would be nice to see a little variation in between the rounds, like a boss battle or something to make each round feel slightly different. Also the impact sound effect was louder than the music and it felt a bit jarring. All in all I really liked the charm of this game. Great work!

Bacteria by merkisoft 2019-10-07T18:55:01Z

That opening scene was really cool. I struggled to figure out what to do, but I realized there was a spreading mechanic that was interesting.

EGGS! by jaaskeh 2019-10-07T23:15:04Z

Great grappling hook mechanic. I think you nailed the physics just right. Has just the right amount of floatiness to make the mechanic work with the platforming. Good job.

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-07T21:45:37Z

I'm unable to play the game. It just shows a blank white screen? Anything I can do to play? I'm on Firefox.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Getting bumped by those squirrel looking things cracked me up

Morgi Rescue by starvingindie 2024-10-07T20:48:54Z

@eerongal Thanks so much for the feedback. I agree, the success/fail is a bit jarring. Would love to update the game in the future with your feedback! Appreciate it!

Morgi Rescue by starvingindie 2024-10-07T21:00:00Z

@catnap thanks for the heads up! I'll see what I can do about fixing the audio.

Critter Wrangler by LelulaGames 2024-10-07T20:57:12Z

I loved the blend of 2d and 3d in this! Great ambiance!

Feedback: It would have been nice to have the 2d trees and foliage billboarded.

Tiny Suspect by Prolich 2024-10-07T21:14:20Z

Great art, great ambiance, and a simple mechanic with nice overall progression. Great job!
