the controls are a little uncomfortable for me, i think it'd be better if the forward key moved you in the direction the player was facing. It took me a while to grasp the concept of it, but once i did it was a lot of fun to play. i really like your take on the theme, sacraficing health to fight back enemies. If there were more items and powerups you'd really have something, this is a really cool concept aside from any flaws, and i think you shouldn't leave it as a jam game, with more work, this could really be something ;)

This is a really fun game. There are a list of bugs, just as any game made in a weekend would have, however the overall game was quite enjoyable. I did also get the same bug as @firtage , and I couldn't move after respawning, which made me have to restart the game.

A great take on the theme! I love the dialogue and art style, as well as the simple yet challenging mechanics. My only few complaints are that you could still shoot while the dialogue was playing, and the dialogue was a bit slow. It'd be nice if there was a button to skip to the end of what the person was currently saying, rather than skipping the whole dialogue (and that option was only somtimes there). But overall very fun and polished game with a nice mindset for the theme!

@fractal I tried to give it a new gameplay experience each time. So I built several pre made rooms that spawn in a different order. There is of course the bug where a room you’ve already been in gets generated again, and even worse right next to each other. Currently I have 9 rooms, plus the shop room, start room, chest room, and end room. I will add more in the future but basically I was going for something similar to enter the gungeon. In that game, the dungeon is randomly generated but with a very wide variety of pre built rooms, and a restriction of generating rooms that have already been used. I thought I correctly implemented such, but I suppose my code is flawed. On top of that there are only 9 rooms for the generator to choose from so this annoying bug is almost guaranteed. (This is mainly because I was running low on time and couldn’t make a wide variety of rooms.)

I really like the paper art style. The controls are a little wonky in my opinion. Like sometimes it takes a while to speed up all the way, occasionally longer than other times. I really enjoyed the simple yet challenging gameplay, I only wish there was a more clear way to see where the end of a level was. Overall a very enjoyable game with a very unique art style. @ynneblack I really appreciate the feedback! Yeah I noticed those typos as well after i uploaded the final build. I spent the first 30 ish hours only working on mechanics and data classes. I worried about putting it all together visually last, so it was a bit rushed. I'll upload a new build where i fix them soon haha. I'll look into the upgrade bug as well.
