Hey! It's a nice platformer runner i think if you would add some more actions (like dashing or slicing the objects on ground level) it would be more fun to me personally. Also no addictive jingle is what i miss too, i'm a music lover. Great job tho, i don't see anything like that around here i mean swapping gameplay in the middle of the game, keep it up!
Hey, it's a great game it has a nice arcade feeling, although the camera shake creeped me out. I'd love to see more of your making! :D
Yes, it did crash, yes it did suck in some way, but dayum i love it :D
It felt great to play it. It's such a nice puzzle platformer in such a minimalistic style! I would love to see more of this :)
In my opinion the platforms should slow down when they are near the "checkpoint" right before the turn back. It would show the player the feeling that "it's going to turn now, i gotta jump"
I rated it 5 for overall cuz it was nice to play it :)
The music would add a bit more fun to this :) I'd like to play something like this in the future
"A life of a fridge" :) I would suggest that cooling would be done by holding the mouse button and not the clicking, it would feel nicer to me.
I've pretty much killed 10-20 fridges before i got into it :D
The pixel art is what brought me here, but i kinda felt bored while playing the game. The idea is very interesting tho, i've marked innovation high because i liked the concept.
I hope to see more of this so good luck in your dev!
The game music is so nice i loved it but the CONTROLS.... PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO SUFFER ANYMORE :D
Yes, it is a really great puzzle game, i liked the gameplay but i would make the rotation a bit faster. Like the world would start the rotation a bit slow but then fastly speed up and then slow down towards the end of the rotation. Overall the game is one of the best i've played so far! :)
I hated this boss so much... :D his vision field is bit too small, i think he should just use a few patterns no matter the distance to the player instead of rushing at close range.
@mac-dragoness Hey! Thank you for taking time and actually leaving some feedback :D I know, it's so long.. i was rushing the voicing in the middle of the night and i didn't actually playtest it at the end, this jam was a deadly exciting experience and i would love to participate next time.
@dob Hey! Thanks! It was our first time to submit anything to LD and my friend was like "I know they are saying that intro is too long, BUT IT'S MY BABY!" :D The game has a lot stuff undone that we wanted to do... we set the bar too high for ourselves and tried our best, and we will do more next time!
@kalyrical @josehzz Thank you guys! Well i guess i just like to be sudden with things and for some reason i enjoy putting creepy eyes things in the dark.
It was my leadership that brought this game to a such unfinished state....
@cornelia-xaos i'm sorry, i didn't update the source code and thus it was all bugged back then. I've made a linux and windows x32 build, now i know that i should include those builds aswell, oh foolish me :)
A minimap would be nice :) It was a fun experience, i like the graphics! Reminds me of the times when i studied blender and was playing around with the unity primitives. Although the theme is obviously not converted but it is still an optional thing, right :)
One thing i know for sure.... penguins can't drive ice trucks :D I like the mood of this game, it's so amazing :) I've felt like this penguin which drives the truck is completely drunk :D
Had fun throwing some curse words on those cheesers. Idk i was able to understand the controls in 2 seconds :)
I hit a solid 5 on the theme because it truly sinergizes with the theme. I had a smile on my face because it felt funny to shoot as a drunk cowboy :)
Yeah i agree that the level is too short, but it's still enough to judge the skill level. In my opinion a few drunk jokes could fit there to balance it out in it's shortness :)
Meanwhile "ADOPTED" becomes a new meme on the LD :D
The game lacks a Potion to restore your health, that would balance the game play a bit, other than that, it's a nice idea to make a turn-based game :)
Yeah, an interesting idea! It was fun to run through the last tunnel with a large af sword piercing all the enemies on the way.
A bit sad that there was no audio though :(
The only thing that made me a bit uneasy was the excessive screenshake which made it look a bit disturbing.
I know that it adds a touch to the shooting mechanic, but it was too much for 10 minutes gameplay
Hey, can you build for mac?
Hello, the game was interesting at first, but then i found myself mashing touchpad to sell honey in winter and buy bees in spring..
I would suggest putting jokes about bees' deaths in the chatlog, that would make it more fun to play, and not just mash touchpad. i suppose you've spent a lot of time on designing the bees system.
I find it interesting that management games can be quite interesting here on the LD.
Keep making games tho! :)
A game inside of a game.
I was looking for a good screenshot of the buildings, i wished you made the buildings taller so it would look like those of NYC or something. Enjoyed the game for a while tho :)
I liked the graphics and animations, they felt really "blooby" (i really don't know how to express it in other words :D ) yeah, the enemies aren't that much of a threat, it makes the game a bit easy, but the overall feeling is good :) Thank you for making a good game and i hope you have had a good time making it :)
Interesting idea, yeah, i agree to the keyboard input rather than mouse, it would make the game a bit more enjoyable.
And... no scores :(
Overall a good game, although i've felt that there was too much screenshake, i know it's a good visual effect, but my eyes felt some unease after a few minutes of playing, i've screwed that too in my own game. I think 50% decrease in shaking amplitude would look good enough and would not screw the whole effect thing.
Yeah i agree to the controls, a bit of acceleration on the move would be nice.
Good job on the game though :) I like the minimalistic design and the intro atmosphere!
@thebillington i agree that with some polish it would come out a decent platformer, the main thing of the game is to get to the room on top of the castle and fight bosses tho :)
A classical platformer, as a person who enjoys platformers, i enjoyed this game :) although in such a humorous setting (bugs and stuff) i would love to see some explicit jokes about bugs (pc bugs, usual bugs and stuff like that)
Overall i hit your game a solid 4, because i love platformers :)
Man, why arcade games are so addictive ? :D i love the smooth controls, sad that you couldn't work on it for the second day, good luck next time i guess ! :)
A bit sad that there weren't any sound effects, jumping in silence is a tensious thing.
Also sometimes unresponcive controls turned me away, yeah i got that you wanted to make them jump less height and speed the less your lift off velocity is, but that doesn't make it feel right when low height and full height velocity difference is a split second...
I agree with @carlsonandpeeters screen transitions didn't make any sense, i would go for stuck or lerped camera following mode, since it would be more pleasing to the eye.
I also lacked some backstory about why the main character is doing what hes doing, even a text would suffice, since we all had the time limit of 2/3 days.
It is a really high bet to make a good horror game and i admire that. You are like me who tries to make a great complete experience but sometimes lacks the time to finish the project as it was intended.
Well i personally had an uneasy feeling while playing the game and thus can say that the game was a success in terms of spookiness but as others said, the music and some footsteps would make the game feel more complete and polished.
Well, i survived for like 5 minutes and there wasn't any challenge actually.
What i would add for extra hardness - make enemy pigs aim at your predicted movement, just account your current body velocity and aim for that when shooting.
I just ran in circles around the pit and enemies killed themselves because they were stacked in the middle... :)
Fun game, good jokes :) Not much to say. Yes i remembered Mario Party because it is a nice concept. Id love to see a more polished version with more different jokes :)
@noey yeah, the dead body blades hurting is a known bug but i didn't have time to fix that, i sacrificed that time to make the game a complete story, because we did the ending and the intro at the very end of the jam, right before submitting the game :)
@0x01f0 i thought of making a backstory or continue the story, but in a more calm pace, not having 72 hours timer watching my back :D getting a more polished fighting system and cutscenes and stuff like that, but i think i am exhausted for a few days or more now. I really liked your game btw :) it looks really memie :) did you use the free base model from turbosquid ? :D i think i recognized those muscles cuz i used it in some other game prototype
@0x01f0 i think it's [this guy](https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/free-human-base-mesh-animations-3d-model/1049650) that i'm mentioning
The voice was pitch shifted for darkness ofc. It was actually duplicated 3 times. Main track was pitch shifted 2 semitones down, second one 4 semitones down and the last one was pitch shifted UP 2 semitones. I don't know if it was even worth it or not :D but i liked the result so i decided to apply it to every main character line.
Btw it would be fun if your character muscles would bounce and squash while working out :D I'd love to see that and some "Blue Oyster" kind of music in the background that is sounding like an old stereo, i think that would be hilarious :)
@no-grapes-games I am glad that you liked the game :) Well, it is my power and it is my weakness. I mean putting a high scope for the game and then not being able to finish it to it's best, so i decided to focus on making the game a complete experience with at least 3 core parts: beginning, gameplay and ending. Although gameplay lacked some polishing as you mentioned. Bugs are there but i didn't have time to finish it because i have sacrificed that time on the narration and finishing the game in any state.
@al-bueche Yeah, i agree that the gameplay could have been better and you mention a good thing that i missed. That the rain creates mood but it also makes it harder to visualize what is happening. I think i needed to work a little bit on the lighting so that the characters would be distinct from each other and so it would be easier to play.
A nice little game man :)
That Robyn is in fact homeless but he is a damn rich man! Throwing money to the poor while trying to avoid goddamn rich cars from killing the best adventurer of the world!
I don't understand, why...why didn't you put the "ca-ching!" sound from like a cash register on reload pickups.
Also the upgrades made it harder to see incoming cars thus i would make them transparent or less wide so the incoming cars would be more visible. And you could add some front car lights which would make cars more clear in this dark environment :)
Overall a great game, i'm gonna play your other games ;)
@michael-feldman wait, how am i not following you on itch.io ?!
DONE NOW :) Go-go Power Robyn Hood :)
Nice!
Epic music was a great touch on the atmosphere :)
I laughed hard when i saw the default unity buttons in world space :D I love that engine and i use it myself
Not much else to say, it is just a great game :D
I think it lacks some simple space/dreamy music in the background but i guess you didn't have time to add that.
I didn't know what should i do in the game and catching asteroids seemed really-really hard, also the variety of asteroids size and mass was missing to me, i'd love to see a gigantic asteroid fly near me in the game. I think that would add to the atmosphere and mood.
A really nice game!
It has music, it has 3D, it has sound effects, it has upgrades, it has everything! The only disappointment for me was that triple shot upgrade replaced the piercing upgrade, i was really looking forward to triple piercing action :)
Also in my opinion the camera was bit far away. It might be that this decision was to hide the "lame" 3D graphics but man, the graphics were great! I'd love to play a more polished version with something like a zoom option on a scrollwheel.
And one more thing, clamp the input vector to 1.0 magnitude so that the character won't run faster in diagonal direction :)
A nice game, it has some Spore vibes to it.
Id add a little fart mechanic that would allow you to speed up a little bit while spending some coins and producing a coin fart particles :)
It definitely has Stanley Parable and Portal vibes, but yeah, it is a bit short :)
Well, as a hardcore gamer, i was more than pleased with the challenge to grind 80 memory shards in the end, with a risk of being almost oneshotted to death and having start from the beginning.
After the end of the game i found out that left mouse click is the sword attack button aswell, i used X for attack and WASD to move, so i have finished the game with only left hand :D
Here are some feedback from my perspective:
1) Grinding. If enemies would start dropping more memory shards later, this would account for the fact that they have more HP and thus harder to kill. Harder gameplay = more reward
2) Story. In my opinion, you should never abandon the story and write things like "hey, i'm a dev, i had no time to finish the story, so here is the final level", it ruins the experience. I think you should have stuck to the story about his memory to the end, it would at least feel like a complete experience.
Those are major things that i thought about while playing the game. I really enjoyed playing it because i like to play rpg and it feels good to level up your character or gear.
I hope you will continue to create games after this jam and eventually make a wonderful game that is both complete and polished.
It's a sad game but well executed. There is a lot of sadness throughout the game and it is hard to play because of this emotional tension. But i suppose it was meant to be played like that
Hey, a nice concept, i liked the idea of managing people to do certain tasks. Yes it has flaws or i'd rather say, that with some Quality of Life improvements it would be a great game.
What i mean is : Simple AI that would make people go to closest building or some top priority tasks (like producing more people :)) Double click to put a unit into a closest building Being able to remove a building (sell for money or food)
I would also love to read some jokes that these units would randomly say when you drag them around (like good old Warcraft strategy games)
Overall i enjoyed the game, but due to the fact that i filled all the available slots with the buildings, i couldn't place the main building and finish the game :)
It was a frustration... I looked at those screenshots and i thought "wow, nice mood, i'd love to play it" Then i entered the game and felt like "wow, nice mood, i love this game" but 5 seconds later the hand that brings me here, kills me... i mean...why? what is the motivation for this. This was the first dissonance for me, i didn't quite understand why it kills me after bringing here.
I deleted the game in frustration... then i return here to this website and see people are getting through the game so i thought "hmmm, maybe it's me who is dumb and cannot understand what to do" so i unpack the game and start again....
The controls, well, man, if you were going for that Resident Evil 2 type of controls, then yes, you got it, but i seriously hate it.
Some level design? I mean, i was lost in the first place where this giant hand hits you for 15 minutes! It is absolutely unclear where should i go.
I think i have never hated and loved a game that much, i wanted to see what others did and i couldn't.
When i finally escaped the first place with this hand, i was able to enjoy the low poly views of interior which were pretty good i admit. But the controls... they kill all the mood
Some nice controls system and a few feedback sounds of footsteps and jumps aswell as interior sounds would make this game a wonderful experience. I hope you will continue to work on this project and polish it to it's best. I will follow you on your itchio profile to see if you will finish it :)
A well made game! It is so moody and the only thing that this game lacks is sound feedback. Slashes, footsteps, little exterior bits, enemies getting hit and stuff like that.
If you imagine all the feedback sounds yourself while playing the game, it feels really good. You've made a great game in this time limit. Id love to play your other games if there will be any :)
Hi, great game, 10 out of 10, remember you guys since ludum dare 43 or something i think :D Edit: just checked, i remember "Gainz 4 Cash" game it was a banger!
the core mechanics are on point! i think you could release it on ios/android and make some c$sh!
really cool game! i only wish dash was on spacebar, it's a bit unusual for games to have shift-dash
@yotamco it seems that we have a problem with scaling on 4K screens, to fix that you should scale the browser window until UI looks ok
We didn't have time to add instructions or any sort of tutorial to the game :(
@water-duck thank you for the feedback! yep, the theme went out of the window as we figured out the score turned out to be quite big :( i've spent a lot of time figuring out how to make units not stuck inside each other and found a good solution from 'Programming AI by example' book
Also didn't have time left to add any visual or audio feedback except for death particles (which are a little bit bugged :))
@future-labs-unlimited thank you for playing and feedback! :)
That's a really good idea about the zoom! I'm going to add it to backlog.
And yes, the single spot tactic is definitely a way to go in this jam version, but we are planning to make it more like a HoMM style where you place groups of units on the battlefield which would remove the ability to spam units on top of each other
@curleysam i'm so glad you liked the game! :)
Yeah, we wanted to implement different unit classes but the score was too big to pull off so a lot of stuff was cut.
We're going to continue working on the game though!
@0x01f0 i have totally forgot about the jam by now and suddenly decided to check out to find such a treat, honestly it brings tears of joy to read this :,)
We completely (as always) overscoped for this jam even though we threw a lot of stuff out the window :)
About the re-run current placement: originally we thought of making a "roguelike" game where you start over if you screw up but since we're targeting mobile market maybe we should add a "live system" where you can replay a level X amount of times (for $$$$ ofcource, muahahaha)
the seamless level restart is top notch!
it crashed my browser but i loved the 'toy' :)
cool game!
Well, solid game entry, love the art style i only wish it would display where the guys would come from before i build my fortress
a really good concept and execution, i really enjoyed it!
a really well made game! you could potentially release it to app stores and have fun on mobile :)
this game is a money bag for mobile market, i suggest you publish it asap :) It's a good idea, a few good possibilities for soft monetization and it's gonna bring you some good money! :)
an interesting concept and the game, my only issue is the wonky camera that gets stuck behind walls. Overall a good execution! With 1 or 2 more mechanics added this could be a full steam release with tons of puzzles to explore
i only wish the attack range was wider and it would be easier to eat people
otherwise a solid game but i have to vomit real quick
i think the "slaughter" mode would fit in perfectly here
Come on, man! Gimme some checkpoints! That voice is so hawt but i don't have the patience to do this all over again 10 times because i didn't get the last answer (or pre-last or pre-pre-last i'll never know)
Or at least let the player skip the voice lines if they know the answer already :(
man, i love it. definitely top 5 games so far!
the only "major" issue i had is the ship will get stuck in the rotation you dock at the moment of docking, so if you dock as soon as you're in range, sometimes you end up upside down or turned left/right, but it wasn't any game breaking for me so i successfully "lost" by going to the outer rim with 200 fuel and 100 oxy
@joymagine we thought about making the upgrades board bigger and make certain blocks have effect when you combine them with other blocks for example if you have L shape right next to Square shape it give you +5% attack speed or something like that but everything was ultimately a scope creep for us
also first Godot engine jam so it took some time to figure out stuff
@pipima whoops :) it's only a visual bug though, you get ``base_max_hp`` + ``upgraded_hp`` at the start of the level, but after you get hit the health component sends out an event with ``current_hp`` / ``base_max_hp``
I'd love to turn it into an infinite mode or something, where you have to mix and match different upgrades to progress and each upgrade block has a synergy with other blocks but it was too big of a scope for the jam as i'm not very experienced with Godot at the moment. Infinite mode would allow to have a proper highscore though since right now there are fixed amount of levels and mobs are not varied (because there was a bug and i had to cut varied encounters )
Wow! Very interesting concept :) The "aha!" moment is really cool and I'd love to see more mechanics tied to this
I really like the crisp graphics, they have a certain oldschool aesthetics :)
At first I thought that you push the lane that's supposed to move, but after a few fails I understood that it's the other way around
I don't know why but after a few levels I got a bit anxious and decided not to continue playing. I feel like it would be better to select the lane to move instead of moving two other lanes but it might be just me
Overall id say it's a top 5 contender, very well made!
interesting take on "limited space" :) i only wish there was some kinda "here is what you will have to write" text as an example so you could plan ahead
I might have broken it a little bit :)
The only thing I'd love to see is drag&drop working and stats being visible without hovering on the item
Overall I'd say it's a really good indie game worth finishing and publishing to Steam one day!
Solid game! the CPU is really unforgiving tho, they bash the A button as soon as you're in range
But they got stuck at the end though, resulting in my imminent victory! Not that I'm a cheater, I'm just too good of a :crab:
i wish you could jump over corners cuz if you locked yourself inside an enclosed space you're done for good :(
i really love this one :) but i only wish you could discard the trash before exiting the level
Poor cats, i couldn't save them all If only there was a "cat collection" and i could view all the saved cats :)
come on! some flies are waaaaaay too fast even for my ultra reaction
the music is a banger! I've slain 1300 magi because I wanted to boost my magic speed to insane speeds but at some point it felt like there was a cap or it was 0.0001% per upgrade
Wiping an entire pack of 5 magi in one shot was satisfying though
i really liked the music, but unfortunately i couldn't play due to typing not working on a mac, did you check the mac compatibility?
I loved the music, but i was unable to understand how to play it, i mean, i tried my best to try and produce something, but there was no visual or sound effects to show that something is in progress or finished making, i think there should be a little to tutorial taking you through the first steps of the game mechanics to show the player what to do and how.
Overall i liked the mood of the game :)
I liked the roguelike part of this game, but in my opinion the "card" part is not really a card part, it's just a bonus popups that you can use.
It would feel like a card game if you'd have to create your deck and use it throughout the game, and gold would allow you to buy new cards and insert them into the deck, instead you buy upgrades and they pop up sometimes from the enemies
One thing that hit me up right into my face is the excessive screenshake, there was a little bit too much of it, i kind of feel that this also affects my own games and i want to calibrate the screenshake myself.
Overall it was a good game to play and i like roguelikes a lot so i will hit that 5 star on Overall! Great job man :)
Hmm, it's an interesting idea, you become a thing other than just a pixel when you're inside a trigger, i thought that you would become something different depending on what you're triggering the most, but it was all the same everytime :)
Anyway i still like the idea, i hope next time there will be music and sound effects, because they add so much to the game
