nice game, although I am no 100% sure if it reminded me of some other game :cop:

caorjavier 2019-04-29 23:28

well done by putting a video ;D

barrier 2019-04-30 08:02

Cute art! Maybe a bit too easy at start, but snorting pigs is fun! :D

manuel-rauber 2019-04-30 16:38

Well done! Art it cute. It could be a bit faster though, it takes a long time to get a fat piggy :D

fabian-pohl 2019-04-30 16:43

Fun little game with spore mechanic. The Gameplay fits the given theme. Well done and spore on!

jam373 2019-05-01 15:39

Very fun, always liked these kinds of games. And good interpretation of the theme :)

jofersgames 2019-05-01 15:51

Its like agar.io, fun :)

minemes 2019-05-01 23:25

The game reminds me of Spore.

draconimous 2019-05-02 05:55

Great idea for a game :) Very fun. Reminded me a little of katamari damacy! their were a couple time where it seemed like my little piggy got stuck on something and I got chomped up. Good job!

shaolin-dave 2019-05-02 06:07

I don't think it fit the theme very well. You aren't using your life to purchase anything, so how is it currency? I think you could have made this same game buy replacing the characters with anything, and the coins with anything that they eat.

Artwork was cute, and I really liked the music.

conspite 2019-05-02 11:15

Pretty decent game. I wish there was another way to interact in the game though, perhaps a stamina bar that allows you to speed up temporarily for example.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-02 12:49

@minemes And spore reminds me of some other games before it :)

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-02 13:04

@draconimous Thanks. I never heard of that game before, but it looks like fun. I have something similar in my Steam library called The Wonderful End of the World.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-02 13:05

@conspite That's a good idea, I'll remember it for possible future improvements.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-02 13:11

@shaolin-dave I disagree. Your life is **literary** currency here, the only purpose of a piggy bank's life is to hold currency (coins and even bills). That you must use your life to purchase stuff is only **one interpretation** of the theme, and rather boring one at that if you ask me. My first idea was to do that, but then I saw almost everybody was doing that. Besides, I already did something like that last time with "sacrifices must be made".

weine 2019-05-02 16:14

Everybody is reminded of different games. For me it was very much like flOw: http://www.xgenstudios.com/game.php?keyword=flow

Anyhoo, I liked it and found it very soothing (except for my first game were I spawned just in front of a giant piggy). The graphics is simple and to the point, and the scrolling is so perfectly smooth. Theme-wise you did a great job of integrating the theme completely in the game (don't listen to @shaolin-dave ;-).

Gameplay-wise the early- and mid-games are interesting and have slightly different strategies. Sadly, the late game is lacking (and lonely) as grow so big that no other pigs want to play with you. Some kind of piggy-radar or other way of finding your friends would have made it possible to eat them all and win the game =)

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-02 17:32

@weine Thanks. Piggy radar was on the list of ideas, but there wasn't really time to do that, but it's on a list for future improvements, if I ever make any. Past a certain size the field of view actually grows with the piggy to help you see more, but sometimes that's not enough. And you don't actually have to eat all the other pigs to win, you just have to grow to a certain size.

sockyman 2019-05-03 00:15

Fun and relaxing game. The enemy bank AI is not great as they will just wander, follow or run away. It would be cool if they ate other banks too. Music is very chill.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-03 02:35

@sockyman Thanks. Banks are just very simpleminded creatures ;) But I agree it would be fun, I actually toyed with that idea myself, but decided against it, because it would be hard to implement properly in the short time available.

eelstork 2019-05-03 10:20

I actually think this game is *on the money* regarding the theme. Some may find it too simple, but it's hard enough to keep you busy, easy enough that there's not much stress involved; also, the execution is thorough. I didn't personally like the gfx/music much but they still do a job (I do like the starry background and galaxies though.

Sorry for the spam thing looked it wasn't posting so I erm. Kept clicking and here's the result. Can't seem to be able to remove these posts either.

jamesolivermusic 2019-05-03 15:13

Nice! But piggybanks in...... space? Interesting! Was challenging and entertaining enough to keep going until I could eat everything in my path. Maybe add a control to 'sprint' or something? To make piggy move a little faster. Music was a little repetitive, but the game is only short anyway. maybe add a few variations of the coin sound.

gerardb 2019-05-03 22:18

Really like the take on the theme and the Agar.io like mechanics.

That being said I would have enjoyed faster gameplay and some particles and effects when collecting coins and eating other piggybanks.

That being said I enjoyed the game and congrats!

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-03 22:36

@jamesolivermusic Yeah, the name was inspired by Pigs in Space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmI77ZBeJrQ Thanks, I'll remember that for a possible future expansion.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-03 22:39

@gerardb Thanks, I'll add that to the list for future improvements.

copper-aardvark-games 2019-05-04 16:58

Very relaxing and enjoyable, it reminds me of one of those games you play ironically because you are bored of all your other games, and it turns out to be really good xd

gurkan96 2019-05-04 22:29

Love how you dont just kill the other pigs but suck the life force from them 5/5 brilliance!

dioinecail 2019-05-04 22:29

A nice game, it has some Spore vibes to it.

Id add a little fart mechanic that would allow you to speed up a little bit while spending some coins and producing a coin fart particles :)

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-04 22:32

@dioinecail That's a great idea. I'll add it to the top of the list for future improvements :pig:

blondhie 2019-05-04 22:42

This was fun! The longer I lived the more focused I became. I would have liked a counter for the coins I was collecting.

someone 2019-05-04 22:49

Nice relaxing game. I enjoyed the music though the coin sound was a bit jarring compared to the overall mood. I like how the eating is gradual, so you have a chance to escape rather than being an instant game over. I did die the second I pressed play on my first attempt though. I guess a pig spawned on top of me.

aurel 2019-05-08 20:11

Yep - I think a coin counter would have been nice, or even having the enemies move around - I died when I tried to eat a pig I thought I was bigger than, but I guess I was wrong about it. On my 3rd play through I got really big but then there wasn't really much to challenge me any more. One of the things that makes for good game design is to challenge the player, and when you hit the top, it lacks that.

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-08 22:10

@aurel Sure, a coin counter would be nice, but it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to the gameplay itself.

What do you mean, having enemies move around? Were they standing still for you? They're certainly not supposed to stand still.

It's rather easy to determine which pigs are bigger and which are smaller than you by their behavior - bigger ones attack you and smaller ones run away from you. Their AI is working for you.

I think getting to enjoy your victory by being able to go unchallenged for a while is fun, but maybe I should've added a timer for the game to end after you become the biggest instead of waiting until you grow to a certain size.

lilkrit 2019-05-10 18:33

Very cool, reminds me of osmos :)
