More Money More Problems by cxsquared 2017-12-27T10:27:08Z

Nice, we made a pretty similar game^^ The tresor opening mechanic was cool. As I escaped the bank, the money I collected wasn't shown, because the font couldn't display it...? There were four or five blank symbols.

Invasion by mennchen22 2017-12-27T18:40:50Z

I played it until I got the laser beam, then I wondered if you can even loose the game^^ But cool soundtrack, good background graphics and easy controls :) Nice entry.

Working Death by geck0 2017-12-27T10:05:01Z

Nice game, I like the idea, that you are kind of the good guy, just because you don't want to waste time collecting killed people's souls. The game was a bit laggy though.

Defense 2160 BC by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2017-12-27T19:29:07Z

Really cool game, a bit easy though, if you don't get any towers destoryed, you don't have to worry about enemies copying your abilities :) You even implemented a tutorial, nice! Just a bit shorter would be better I think.

Beer Belly or Bust by keckles 2017-12-26T14:36:06Z

The camera morphing effect was cool^^ Climbing the tree was very frustrating. But it is an interesting idea, which fits the theme.

DodgeBomb by DragonZlay 2017-12-17T17:31:43Z

Just a heads up: the audio past the main menu is loud, like very loud.

Grand Vizier by argensis 2017-12-17T17:08:47Z

I didn't get how the controls work, how are you supposed to close the popups or move the camera without resizing the game window. This made the game unplayable for me sorry. But nice try on a strategy game in such a small time :)

CHARLES DE GAULLE - 2122 - by Aerios 2017-12-27T19:54:58Z

Really nice background graphics. Also cool that you made something original that should be pretty different to most of the submissions around here :)

Lord OF Coin by Rogue 2017-12-27T18:51:02Z

Pretty cool game, nice graphics and gameplay. It's kept simple, and it's pretty easy to figure out what to do. I got 16 coins^^ We developed a similar game, if you want to check it out :)

Friendzy by MosesG 2017-12-17T17:37:39Z

Nice idea, got 26 friends^^ When messages are stacking, it can get to some graphical artifacts.

LD42 — Running out of space

Zachary's Memory by namnam 2018-08-15T10:30:13Z

Really atmospheric game, definitely hits the bittersweet mood, with the sad music and the beautiful graphics. I found it quite interesting, to discover this persons live. I think I got half of the memories (I didn't find it that easy to match the right memories^^). There are a few spelling mistakes, but that doesn't harm the story. This stands out among the other ludum dare games.

Calorie Killers by big-cow 2018-08-19T19:13:29Z

I like the idea, that the player gets thicker by eating fast food. I killed 129000 Calories. A pity, that you can't evade anymore if you are too fat, but I guess that's the punishment for eating^^ Nice simplistic and solid game, good job.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

God given gifts, taken by hunttis 2018-12-28T09:22:51Z

Nice and solid game, I liked the graphics and controls. It's also not too long for a ludum dare game. The controls were tight. It would be nice, to make the key Y do the same as Z, because on german keyboards these keys are switched in place^^

Chicken sexer by willmurderface 2018-12-28T09:30:16Z

Nice idea, but it was really hard to play for me, because the chicken mostly went through my claws cause of my imprecise controlling. I now that's kind of the gag, but it would be a bit easier, if the claw does not jump to it's target position, but moves there fastly. This prevented me from even trying to get the right chicken out of the box, which should be the real goal of the game I think :) Good that you made a tutorial, it was very clear, what the player had to do!

Necroprancer by Blueman 2018-12-24T09:01:50Z

Nice solid game with responsive controls, simple graphics and good difficulty. Made it in 4:33.

Redshirt Air-Patrol by GettingRekt 2018-12-24T10:01:18Z

Nice game, cool idea, that you have to set the paths of your aircrafts. I couldn't really feel the difficulty increasing, because I didn't get much feedback, on how much damage was made on my village. The aircraft ai was good. Funny music and sounds!

Don't Take my Stuff! by OrionDark7 2018-12-28T09:33:41Z

Same here, cool concept, but couldn't run it due to performance issues (libpng warning?)

SPLIT_SHOT by static ddq 2018-12-24T10:19:04Z

It started fun, but then suddenly on level 7 no enemy appeared and I got stuck :( Would be cool to have a recharge meter, to see how many shots and how fast you can fire. Also I didn't understand all of the items and didn't get what to sacrifice.

TILL WE UNITE AS ONE: CHAPTER ONE by April_Xu 2018-12-24T09:50:53Z

It didn't work, UnityPlayer.dll is missing on my computer. I don't have the newest version of unity installed and am running win7 64bit.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Coin-Op Kid by Strega 2019-05-04T19:33:27Z

Really good level design! You created many puzzles through a few mechanics without getting the player bored. Cute graphics and fitting sound. I also like the game idea, and how it is fitting the theme. Really solid and well made entry.

CandleStickMan by stark 2019-05-03T22:40:29Z

The platforming part was a bit wanky, and the character to slow. The coin collect part was fine :) I didn't really bother about the numbers at the top.. Overall a nice idea, making a jump'n' run on stocks.

The Underworld Underworld by Osspial 2019-05-03T22:20:30Z

I didn't get what to do after I met the character in the dungeon. Couldn't go through the blue barrier or over the black hole... Other than that, nice that the game has some story with dialoge. It would be cool, if the camera would follow your mouse so it wouldn't be so sluggish. I like the simplistic art style.

Burgers To Die For by Cievers 2019-05-01T11:54:18Z

Charming graphics, easy controls and overall really nice execution! I often found it hard to identify what exactly I had to do on my burger.. Especially with the cheese, but I guess you already noticed that. My High Score is 980^^

LD45 — Start with nothing

Zilch by commanderstitch 2019-10-13T10:45:46Z

The game is very diverse, each level differentiates itself from the others. Sadly there's too much going on for me, like it all seems a bit random sometimes. Maybe it would be better (but harder to design) to have fewer enemies, that are either more intelligent or deal more damage, because then you wouldn't be overwhelmed by all that is happening on screen. Other than that, well I liked your game, I liked, that you even had a level menu (but yeah restarting the same level on a death would still be better I guess :). Also the idea of an introduction for each level was cool, but the "The green path will guide you" thing annoyed me after a time. The different colors for the fonts was a bit confusing, because I didn't get what each color stands for, so I suppose it's just randomly chosen. Nice idea on trying to escape as a fox. Easy and responsive controls for the fox, good job!

Deserted by Pio 2019-10-10T10:02:35Z

Nice game, it was a bit annoying to me, that the mouse didn't stay in the game. Also I didn't manage to kill the rabbits, is it possible with the axe?

Grip of Despair by Khud0 2019-10-13T10:32:39Z

The game starts with a good difficulty to get into the game, but in my opinion you could really increase the difficulty over the two levels, but I guess you didn't have enough time for that. If even found the second level to be easier than the first. Great soundtrack and graphics! The game is very solid and rounded up, good work here!

Water by agrdev 2019-10-09T19:59:11Z

I couldn't move the character. Restarting the game also didn't help :(

Polychromatic Escape by BLK Dragon 2019-10-11T09:33:40Z

Awesome game! I wouldn't have thought, that the controls were this responsive giving my first impression on this ld page. Definitely good work on that, camera also works good, and the shots are really fired where you want them to be. The music and especially the sounds added to the atmosphere, although the shoot sounds could have been a bit quieter in my opinion. I think I've played the game through - collected the keyword, and destroyed all crystals. I guess there's no next level right? :) So yeah I'm happy to see a 3D platformer around here :D Of course a bit more variety like enemies would be awesome, but yeah I guess time's limited^^ Also good work on doing animations! The game seems enclosed, which makes a good impression.

Awoken by JammedGame 2019-10-09T20:47:20Z

Really liked the art style! The game is a bit much drawn out for me. and I'm not sure about the following: After you beat the endboss, do you just repeat the already played section with enemies, that have more health? I liked, that you can decide what ability you want to upgrade. Also that you start with nearly no sight. And the back story (although I didn't really grasp it) supports the mood :)

Steva the Robot by lazarche 2019-10-09T20:27:23Z

I got an error, when starting the batch file: "ERROR: JAVA_HOME is not set and no 'java' command could be found in your PATH. Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the location of your Java installation."

Tyler by zkusand 2019-10-13T10:12:49Z

Okay honestly, I can't get past level 3 xD How am I supposed to do that? Unbenannt.PNG

Make Profit by Jammin 2019-10-10T09:56:54Z

I liked, that there's a short story introduction at the beginning :D

An Empty Way by Douglas Asted 2019-10-11T09:20:27Z

Hmm somehow I couldn't open the rar with 7-zip :( It just says "couldn't be opened as an archive"

Nude In The Forest by Sarah_lkv 2019-10-09T21:03:07Z

This game looks promising, but sadly I can't play it, because my character can't move to the left, and only sometimes up or downwards, to the right works... really strange. I'm playing on Win7.

"Dreamer" - Ludum Dare 45 Submission by BunBoi 2019-10-13T10:20:30Z

Sadly the second / the real first level was too hard for me. The main problem I had, was that you're character continues to move forward in air, when no button is pressed, otherwise the controls are good! Yeah an easier introduction would have been nice for me. I like, that there are footsteps and jumping sounds, they help for the immersion.

Skelebro by Redimension Games 2019-10-10T10:10:13Z

Really fun and solid game! The best I played yet. Fast responsive controls, a funny idea, charming graphics and well just a short and crisp game. Checkpoints are positioned fairly. nice music and sounds!

Don't know if you noticed, but if you pull these stones to you, you can trap yourself between a wall and the stone. Which isn't a problem, because you can push the stone away again, but I thought maybe you wanted to know^^

Sprout: Tree Simulator - Evergreen Edition by jakemchugh1 2019-10-11T09:49:13Z

Was more fun and easy to get into than I thought a tree simulator would be. Although upgrades also didn't work on me, I could see this game becoming a strategy game :D And yeah, great idea!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Bugs Must Die by adjo 2020-10-23T11:00:06Z

The building phase seemed fun, but the shooting combat didn't felt that rewarding, mostly because it was too hard to hit and too hard to see your bullets. I like, that the enemies take different paths.

Despairship by Shess 2020-10-21T20:27:19Z

Actually, this was very fun! It was easy to get into, but not too easy to beat, exactly the right difficulty. I really like, that you delete your crew permanently when you collide with them (at least I think it's that way). Very nice decision, that time stops, when you don't move. The art style is also nice, and I don't know.. it's kind of a comedic scenario, which I like :D

Placid Incandescent Impala by hijomo 2020-10-07T21:14:41Z

The music would be nice, if it wouldn't be so laggy^^ Other than that, nice gimmick, playing a bit with spacial awareness :)

Tloop - The looping tank Shooter by loligxp 2020-10-07T20:55:17Z

Really nice sound and visual effects, although a bit of variation to the shooting sound would be nice. Really solid small game you made here!

Cellar's Nocturne by Dane Tesla 2020-10-23T10:32:08Z

I like that you took realistic photos and pixelated them, to put them into your game. Nice sound and art style. The transition fade from one room to another didn't work quite properly, this interefered with my immersion. The integrated loop is a interesting idea, but it gets a bit repetitive, when you have to remove the monsters in rooms, where you have already done that.

(Nu) Da Drum by Trexxak 2020-10-07T20:59:31Z

After starting the game in fullscreen and clicking on the teddy, the window moved to the top left corner, making it unplayable. Sadly the window mode didn't work. I tried pressing 'i'. I'm on windows 7 if that helps :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Drilling With Dice by KunoNoOni 2021-04-29T14:32:30Z

I like that this game totally differs from other ludum dare games. For a seemingly simple dice game it was just a little bit too complicated for me.. I wasn't that motivated to read all the rules exhaustively, I think I got most, but what would have helped is to show a number on how much money you made, because of the dice roll. Then you could just try out stuff and figure out the rules by yourself.

I like the chill upbeat music and who doesn't like dice sound effects :D

Soil Surfer by bentglasstube 2021-05-05T10:04:06Z

I like your introduction text here on ludum dare. It has a bit humour in it, but not too much. Your game takes a good spin on the snake formula (hexagon, different tiles/speeds, you have to go deeper, centepede which can cut your length) which is quite an accomplishment so I will give it a 4.5 in innovation. It is also pretty polished, has fitting sound and consistent good graphic style. The centepede kinda scared me^^ well done! Also I think the level is kinda random generated - If that's the case, good job there. I feel like the length of the worm is just an addon, that does not prove skill very much (which is okay), cause you can't evade the centepede well enough. The depth you get to in the other hand requires skill, butI really enjoy the beginning of the level more, cause you move much faster and seem to have more choices where to go (or I missed a path, i don't know, but it seemed to me that after a certain point you only encounter dirt-rock). Wish that pacing would continue throughout the level. The game has good potential for such a simple concept. Very well done!

Oh and here my score: score.jpg

Le bateau ivre by thebmxeur 2021-04-27T10:11:24Z

Nice art, especially the ascii art, even if it's a bit random^^. The pacing is a bit slow, especially for the sinking ship.

Depth by SaraJS 2021-04-27T13:34:56Z

Simple game with really nice execution! The pixelated graphics also add to this simplicity. Somehow the background music wasn't annoying to me, although I guess it's only two sounds in a loop - fits the atmosphere! I wish I could restart from level 2 (or increase speed of level 1), cause level 1 got boring after a while obviously. One time I dropped in a small hole out of three (I think) and just died because it was a dead end. Not sure if that was intentional, but I found it unfair. Also nice air "woosh" sound. Good job!

The Rim by jokerbomb 2021-04-28T12:41:02Z

Epic Soundtrack, combined with the dramatic background at the beginning and the dark story - gave me goosebumbs :D I liked the mysterious storyline and the difficulty (starting very easy at the beginning and ramping up quickly in the last level). Good variation in enemies and an interesting idea to protect your rope thingy.

It would be nice to see who is speaking, without reading his/her name (f.ex. display a color or an arrow). Mood was great!

I didn't see a remaining health bar, that would be a useful addition.

The in-level background is a bit too strongly pixelated, but I guess you already know that :)

Yeah, I really liked the idea of a meteorite crashing down leaving a crater to explore. I'm sure there are plenty of stories like that, but I guess I never came upon one^^

One-Butt Alien Corridor by PeachTreeOath 2021-04-30T16:23:48Z

Although there is no music and sfx, I really liked the mood.. imagening you and your crew are down there in that dark ship swarmed with aliens, only one way out. I like it!

Really solid graphics. Very clean ui and blood^^ It's totally fine having your vrewmembers and opponents being circles with symbols, cause it fits the style of the graphics. You even animated them. The animation of the grenade explosion is awesome!

I like certain small things: It's nice that a crewmember is revived after a level. Also you get to retry the current level and the upgrades give a nice touch.

Highlighting the currently selected member would help a lot.

Really solid and polished entry, well done!

Untitled Bruce Game by icefallgames 2021-05-11T10:07:28Z

Really fun gameplay, and even quite inovative in my opinion. Like to see a puzzle game for a change here. The level design was pretty good there :) the game never got boring, I was excited to see new ideas put into the levels. One can see, that you had more mechanics in mind than you could implement in time, cause the game wasn't that long, which isn't bad at all, but a longer game of this game wouldn't be bad either^^ The sound effects were fun^^

A vnique take on the theme and probably my favourite game so far!

RAMnesia by 100th_Coin 2021-05-16T07:16:39Z

That ending was so beautiful, it gave me goosebumbs. After this hectic and brain wrecking battle it felt so nice to enter this beautiful landscape being rewarded by hearing your name and remembering that you have sticked through with the challenge to the end! I wish I could walk around a bit in the last screen, the contrast to the rest of the game is just great. Although or maybe because the gameplay was a little hectic it was very tense and fun. Very challenging - the mechanic was so genious that I wanted to keep at it and beat this game, which made the ending more rewarding. The music was nice and the change in it after pressing the P switch was a nice touch. Art is amazing! Controls could be a liittle bit less floaty, but that's the only thing I can critisize and it wasn't a problem at all. Very impressive for creating this game in a compo jam!

Oh I just wondered, if you were the same person, that made the ribbon game from last jam, and I was surprised to be right :D I wonder if I recognized it because of the similar character or because of an iconic art style^^

Aand now I noticed, that you can click on variables to clear them xD well I read it but I forgot it, would have made the game slightly easier for me, but thats fine^^ I guess you can play it that way if you want to have a challenge.

Speedrun Time: 12:36.66 (did one run)

One last thing: After getting back to the end screen right now... That music is so heartwarming. What program did you use to make the music? :D

Scython by BinarySpark 2021-04-29T13:42:41Z

This is a pretty polished game! The graphics look cohesive and smooth, I really like the floaty blocks and the glow effect of the beams and cables. I found the gameplay a bit slow, cause visually there isn't that much happening on your opponents side. In a standard tower defense game, you have enemies swarming your base and every kill feels like you are doing progress. You are sometimes focusing on single enemies in hope of them not reaching their goal. For me this tension and progression was not that present here. BUT it's unique in what it tries to accomplish with the enemy design, and that I like! Never seen a spreading enemy in a tower defense game before. Cool, that it can destroy your buildings, although not SO cool, if that buildings are yours^^

You did really well for the user interaction experience. I really liked just placing buildings and upgrading. And the buildings even change graphics when you upgrade them, that is more than one can hope for in a ludum dare game :D Also pretty solid menu there

Save Her by CrumblyBread 2021-04-29T14:21:33Z

I love that story xD especially drawn in this art style. I think the setting plays a big role in this game, just the idea of a casual boyfriend needing to use his crazy mole-drilling-machine again.. like what? xD

Funny how you put the hamster in the wheel, the chicken in the oven and so on to keep this machine running. Didn't win though, not sure if it's possible.

1GEMCLIC.EXE by verysoftwares 2021-04-28T13:24:58Z

Wow! That silence when you close the game xD This was way more fun than I expected, cause I'm not the biggest fan of clicker games. Creating buildings to improve your... escallation, well yeah it's all about escallation! Good job on that part :D

Also cute little mascot at the bottom :D

trabitboy_ld_48 by trabitboy 2021-04-28T12:52:25Z

The red tone was a bit intense, but I guess that was the idea behind... well hell^^ I liked having multiple paths to choose from, that added a bit more depth to the gameplay. It would be nice to have an easier first encounter with the maggots, so you can figure out that you need multiple shots to kill one. Adding transparency to the sprites would be nice. Yeah very simple game, but tries to accomplish nothing more.

Street Spark Racing by BytingGames 2021-05-16T08:18:00Z

@trexxak Haha, well done! That poor friend... but don't tell him 🀫

But nevertheless, you nearly helped him get a shortcut xD

Sonder (a story) by Noble Robot 2021-05-01T12:58:16Z

It felt nice delving into the past of her. The writing was done well, cause I didn't got bored reading information about objects. That's cause you get a glimpse of her past life. I just would have loved you would get deeper into her life. Maybe you would have to play it again or differently I don't know.

The graphics and sound ambience created a melancholic but comfy mood which was very fitting.

I guess the objects disappear and appear, because you are kinda travelling back in time through her room? If that's the case, cool^^ if not.. then I interpreted too much. Probably not, cause otherwise you would have seen more of her earlier life I guess.

Very unique well rounded game. And good job on daring to make a heavily story focused game.

The Red Crystal by Bastienre4 2021-04-30T20:20:34Z

Really good! You did great building that atmosphere with the soundscape. Having the player shake his head when walking and hearing matching step sound effects intensifies the immersion. I like that you settled for a low poly look - I dig it. And as long as it's consistent it can also make up for a scary environment.

I must say I'm a bit releived, that nothing got to chase me^^ but with the expectations that something would I felt a bit led down at the end/reveal :)

I wonder if you have been inspired by Amnesia, cause that humming in the background and the notes reminded me of it^^

Didn't get why you would have to close notes with right click, the left mouse button seems to have no use here, so why not use it?

You delivered a very well rounded package here, awesome!

Monster journal: a short story by Fenderbate 2021-05-01T13:12:34Z

I like how you told a little story to open up for the gameplay - short but crispy. The gameplay was fun, figuring out the patterns of the opponents felt rewarding (although they were pretty simple, but that's fine and even good for a noob to get into). I like that the controls are responsive so you get to smash the opponent very often if you take the risk and have that finger skill^^

Perfect difficulty.

I like it when jam games are shorter than you want them to be. I could have handled more of this game if it would be longer with more complex monsters or more story :D but even without that it's pretty good on it's own!

Oh yeah and great sound design and an art style that is very confident in it's color palette and shading - not over the top, minimalistic, good.

One of my favourite jam games this jam.

Deep into the mine by BubakGames 2021-04-27T13:20:46Z

When I figured, that I needed to kill the enemies the game became quite fun and I tried it a few times (a hint to require killing them would be nice). Reached 197 meters. I like that the levels are randomly ordered, at least I think that's what happening. The light effects set up for a little bit moody atmosphere. A sound effect for getting hit would also help for identifiying how exactly the enemy attacks work. But I just noticed the spider attack animatino, which is nice. The controls are a bit wonky, but I guess you already know that. It's good that there is a button hover sound, but the exact sound is a bit annoying. At first I was a little bit put off by the title font, maybe it would be better to also have it be drawn in the "You died" font. I actually liked the ammo restriction, cause it creates tension. Overall I like it, especially because the best aspect was the gameplay for me :D Ah and one thing: sometimes I teleported down, when I killed all the enemies, don't know what that was about.

Vile Things by JakobTheQuizGuy 2021-04-30T22:10:39Z

Extraordinary animations! I love that walking cycle. Very impactful sound effects and an interesting setting that isn't sucked dry. Good gameplay too! Yeah everything was good, that's a well rounded package here.

The last wave escalated and after realizing it was the last, it was just the right difficulty for me. Wonder though if you would have to restart the whole game if you died - I guess so.

The opponents were also creative and differed in a meaningful way.

Also nice touch that the music speeds up (if I remember correctly). Oh and the music fits very well too!

Yeah the only thing I would criticize is the lack of the theme, but you already stated that :)

To sum it up - awesome game feel!

Compulsive Diggers by Rolly 2021-04-30T16:50:54Z

What a funny storyline! made me smile^^ This game has way more depth than I initialy thought. Letting the dwarves do their own thing, while you try to prevent them from dying is really awesome and even a bit innovative :D The pacing is also really fitting, it starts easy enough to get used to the controls and to understand how the dwarves work and it ends in an escalation of moaning dwarves xD The step by step introduction of the building blocks also made that pacing possible. I really wanted to keep the dwarves alive, not because otherwise I would loose, but mostly because they would give me money, and maybe I even cared a bit for them^^

Such building/preventing escalation games usually tend to get pretty boring or frustrating for me, but this wasn't the case here, cause I always could improve my mineshaft (which felt like progress) and the dwarves weren't dying too quickly.

Also cool detail in the menu, letting the pickaxe sound effect happen with the rythm of the music.

Awesome!

Capsule Fall by Jeremia 2021-04-27T10:20:12Z

I liked that you used the terminal for your implementation. It serves the purpose quite well. Easy to grasp gameplay and nice difficulty for the [1] normal game. I didn't hear any sound, so I couldn't rate that category.

There, Again by Honey Pony 2021-05-16T07:56:58Z

Very well done! Has some Kaizo Mario vibes to it. So yeah, difficulty was there^^ Especially the wall jump was hard to get right, I only seemed to manage it, when I released the stone at the highest position. Don't know if it's possible at other states. Still - I beat the game :D Sound effects gave great feedback. Level design was on spot! Short spicy levels. Controls were tight, although I often swapped jumping with grabbing (played with controller).

I like how you explained the controls ingame. I wonder, why people always explain the controls here on the ludum dare game page, when it's just explained in the game  Learning in the game is not only more fun, but I also have to read less where I only understand half the stuff of. But I guess you know that. I was just curious, if theres really a reason for the controls on the page, other than "everyone does it" I would be interested to know :)

I couldn't read what they wrote at the end screen, but I guess it was something like "name was here" :) Nice touch, adding a ending cutscene there! The game also reminded me a bit of Celeste^^

Catlantis by fabula_rasa 2021-05-16T06:48:45Z

Very cute game  it had some good gameplay. Always trying to find a bit of oxygen keeps a little bit of tension, while the game still is chill because of the calming music. And I like that you restore your health by eating fish, instead of just collecting health. Also having less light the deeper you get not only keeps the game interesting, it also supports the theme in a way that influences the gameplay slightly. Graphics were really good, one can tell, that this isn't your first time creating digital art^^ You even created a little comic cutscene at the beginning, well done! The angler fish was cool designed, with that armor plate :D It was a very wholesome experience :)

Pescuit Pe Plajă by Trexxak 2021-04-27T10:06:34Z

I like the idea of playing a thoughtful ant. I would have liked more varying gameplay instead of more variety in fishes to catch. Although I liked the changing backgrounds/levels. Music appears only on my left speaker. The physics give the fishing mechanic a nice touch.

Space Jump by Gaminghamster 2021-04-30T16:04:41Z

Simple and solid game with nice music! It even involved a bit risk taking: the higher you build the platform the harder it is to get on it, but the more height you gain. And the disappearing platforms add tension.

I would have really liked if the player had a convex collision shape, cause I got stuck in platforms a lot.

That 3d floor break effect wouldn't be necessary, but you did it anyway

"You fell down from space" - kinda funny^^

Good job, keep it up!

Deep Paper by axeltherabbit 2021-04-28T13:34:04Z

Refreshing change of graphics! I would like to see more stop motion games^^ Gameplay wise I wasn't really sure how to be good. I think the best strategy was to just not move the camera so the space-kraken would die automatically. The first level had a very weird difficulty curve this way, cause there were no enemies left for the second half of the level. I like the intro, I hoped to see more of that click away paper 'mechanic'.

Deep Mind by JRevel 2021-05-02T14:34:27Z

Very unique in it's gameplay and setting. I like the idea of simulating life by actions that cost you something but give you something in return and that can be good or bad depending on how you perform these actions. I would have liked to read more, but the timers on the cards pushed me to act quickly. At first I thought the masks were annoying but I guess you introduced them so one would also have to quickly fill the "action" cards without letting those stay around for too long. I enjoyed playing something different that kinda reflects the grind we sometimes live in

Oh and a small issue: you can pull the masks out of your screen on your second screen, at least I think thats what happened. Probably not intented.

The Clownfish Home by crazyMouse 2021-04-28T13:16:00Z

I liked, that you didn't just do a standard wasd control scheme, but instead let the fish swim at a constant rate, which made it more interesting to control. I don't know why, but the impact when dying was kind of funny to me^^ Your little text messages are cute :D (facts and stuff). Sometimes it's a bit unfair because of randomness. I tried it like for 15 times, but didn't make it to the end. Also cute pixel art graphics!

The Golden Cavern. by Jim jagers 2021-04-28T13:44:17Z

You have a good amount of variety in your level. The secret shortcuts which give you power ups only add to that. There were too many pits that led to unexpected spikes/death though. That was very frustrating especially because you have to restart the whole level (I think, didn't played it through).

And a small grammar tip: 'too' is used in a context like 'also'. Instead use 'to'.

Yet another SCP 087 game by IAAndrei 2021-05-01T13:28:58Z

A little bit more variety in the staircase would have helped for keeping the players attention and letting the game be less monotone. But I guess you didn't have time for that :) But yeah, these staircase horror games probably also live for this monotonity^^ The staircase itself is modeled and textured very well. Those voice lines were also pretty solid. Overall a very solid game that fits the theme nicely.

Altum by Choppers 2021-04-27T10:28:24Z

Really liked this entry. Nice choice to put the graphics in that red colored style. The gameplay was interesting, because I felt like you had to do a little bit of strategizing on what asteroids to mine and what to keep for further exploration. A clear way to check how much time you have left would be nice (I didn't die because of the black hole, only because I depressurized my suit, where I'm not sure what that does really. On second try I got enough energy.). Good simple menu.

LostBrother by MeritCoding 2021-04-30T17:08:06Z

It has that self made feel, that stood out. You created different graphics for the same objects, this gives the mine more variation to look at

The music was kinda noisy. You don't restart when falling of to the left at the beginning. Cool that you added a story sequence at the beginning and two bossfights at the end, although both were bretty easy. I killed the second boss accidentally I think - it happened so fast, because I just spammed the pickaxe.

Miner Creeper by lokt02 2021-04-30T21:48:38Z

Somehow I got stuck cause I couldn't use my second pickaxe (in level 2) then I tried to reset but I got a screen full of blocks - pickaxe click sound effect still working. Cause of this I didn't rate the game :) In the text on this page you have a small typo just search for "whick". I can rate the graphics though, they were consistent, I like that you focused on paler colors. Holding the mouse button to mine would be more convenient.

Dwoblins by oligue 2021-04-29T13:54:22Z

First of all, nice opening page here on this site, short enough and no unnecessary reading :) What stood out most to me was the fact, that the goblins don't just follow your path, they may try to take shortcuts by digging a path themselves. These shortcuts weren't really faster, so I tried to dig U-shapes in order for the goblins to begin digging the slower path. That made the game way more interesting that it could have been.

I think the game would be better of with keyboard controls, especially placing those traps. Also took some time for me to understand, that I can dig a few blocks with a single click.

Nice entry for your first game here, and hey.. welcome :D

Extreme Pizza Delivery by nicholassoen 2021-04-27T09:54:37Z

Fun concept delivering a pizza through space. Controls are a bit floaty, not sure if that's on purpose, but it led to feeling less in control. Some birds are too fast in my opinion. Sounds would improve the experience alot obviously.

Worry by CrispyBun 2021-04-30T21:59:22Z

Solid moody game, wish it had more story though, but the little text snippets kept me going :D Gameplay had the right difficulty for me. If there would have been more level, more variation in gameplay would have been good, but with the current length I think it's fine this way. Reminded me of Slender but in 2D bullet hell^^ The beginning of the game stood out most to me, because it was a really good introduction to the controls and the mood. Like how that appearing light revealed stuff. Also I like that you have chosen an idea that is unique.

Delve Deeper by the__baldur 2021-05-11T09:55:35Z

Congrats on creating such a well-rounded game in 48 hours. The graphics are nice and the sound is also good, although the bumping collision and walking sound was a bit annoying/loud. I like that you gave forgiving hitboxes and even put in some dialogue. I'm not sure if I reached the end, I can't open the door here: Unbenannt.PNG If that is the end, the game could be harder in my opinion, but you can't go wrong with a game that is too easy either. Well done!

Space Cave by Timo Gass 2021-05-02T14:13:52Z

Whaaat they keep following you?!? That realization was nice :D Nice floaty gameplay, it took only a short time to get used to the controls. I liked having the choice to ignore them for a higher risk but faster descent. Or you can mix both: go do down 2 layers, kill all enemies, repeat. The enemies could have been bigger so it's easier to hit them. If that would have been too easy more enemies could fix that. The low poly style is well done. The cave looks cool. I reached 290 meters and played like for 5 times. Oh yeah the ui was very minimalistic and offered all information you need  Good entry!

The Dark and The Beast by Sam Wallach 2021-04-29T14:10:13Z

You can simply leave to exit the game, that's great! Nice little horror game :D I was actually scared, when that thing began to chase me. I'm curios, can this game be won? Or do you just have to run until your lantern goes of (I died a little bit earlier). I really liked, that you can fall over roots, it's kind of comedic and clichΓ©^^ I like that you created a little story sequence at the beginning. Love how they are just called Bully A and B^^

Blue Square and the Mystery Cave by asdehielo 2021-04-28T13:02:01Z

Awesome gameplay idea AND level design. I like that you can just spam endless amount of balls, but that it still doesn't always help^^ Nice quirky sound effects and fitting background music. Graphics are simplistic, which I like. Fun twist at the end when everything gets dark.

I'm not sure if there are multiple paths to the bottom, it seemed like it sometimes, but I guess I just was lucky I chose the right path, cause the other probably ended in spikes^^ I liked that though, added a bit of mystery. Dying wasn't a problem because of the amount of checkpoints you provided.

The level design stood out to me!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Forging Through Fire by ryusui 2022-10-06T08:41:13Z

I really liked the pixel graphics combined with the squishy animations! Also nice game idea. It soon got too complicated for me though^^ Nice of you, that you showed the path the fire would take.

Zombie Rush 3: Escalation by BytingGames 2022-10-05T17:26:02Z

@lunkums Thank you! NetBeauty really helped me out there. Yes the --self-contained variable was set to false, I changed it and now it's playable without .NET 6. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the game :D

Zombie Rush 3: Escalation by BytingGames 2022-10-05T17:35:26Z

@iogannes The Game is now playable without having .NET 6 installed. I would be happy if you gave the game a second chance :)

Zombie Rush 3: Escalation by BytingGames 2022-10-06T14:52:09Z

@chillertyp Not every game engine is able to run in a browser. Not wanting to download a game, is totally fine and understandable. But should that influence the rating?

Zombie Rush 3: Escalation by BytingGames 2022-10-06T18:14:28Z

@lunkums I didn't encounter that issue yet, but I mostly didn't release my games with the self-contained flag set to true. I tried your game and it seems like the same problem happens on me: It simply doesn't start. If you want, you can contact me at bytinggames@gmail.com and send me your discord name f.ex., I would be happy to help you find the bug, as I'm curious myself.

Barricaded by Cha5m 2022-10-05T08:13:40Z

Nice game! The game could be harder though. I didn't saw any incentive to move, so I kept my 3 survivors at the same place. That was probably the reason it wasn't for being not that engaging. Gladly I realized at some point, that I could hold the mouse button xD

Solustella by BigYellow 2022-10-06T08:29:29Z

Very impressive! From the clean graphics and animations over the polished look of the interface to the soothing background music. It is incredible that you did all this in just 3 days. Once you learned how to play the game it was fun, and I found myself playing it longer than any other gamejam game ever (not just this jam). I played it for around 80min and got to the end. In my opinion the progression could have been a bit faster, as it took me around an hour to play through the game, where nothing really new gets introduced. But maybe that was just because my strategy wasn't the best^^ I decided to put all resources into science to upgrade everything first. Then struggle my way through the rest, sometimes at the edge of extinction. I didn't find the necessity to disable single workplaces for a building, I would have preferred to shut down entire buildings with one click, as managing single workspace is kind of overkill, when you have > 100 buildings. It was great, that buildings lit up, when there were workers inside. It would have been nice to see every building that has it's priority enabled. I think strategy games have a hard time here on Ludum Dare because they are hard to get into. Yours was one of the - if not - the best. Key bindings for rotating the planet would be nice, as klicking at an empty space wasn't thaat easy. For the first 10 minutes I didn't even figure out that, you could rotate the planet, as I tried to drag the buildings. The planets and the wave that comes crashing down look really awesome!

RogueDungeon: A Deck Builder by thedude3600 2022-10-05T08:04:23Z

Nice game. I liked the approach of a deck being used for movement. I would have hoped to collect cards worth taking though. It didn't felt worth it, cause I already had all 4 arrows and 1 potion, this way I knew that I would always get the same cards, so I didn't saw the need to collect new cards (maybe I simply didn't spot any new cards). I'm not sure if your levels are random generated, if so, good work! Sometimes there's an invisible wall dealing damage to you. The game has potential :)

Wyrmweaver by animawish 2022-10-11T17:49:15Z

5 stars on innovation, what an awesome idea. Would have loved to see how this game would turn out if you worked on it for another day. But you even created a menu and settings, not bad!

Sunfall by chemicalcrux 2022-10-11T17:47:45Z

I liked the idea of having random environmental dangers appear on your track. The transition animation from one danger to the next was good. I would have preferred a more direct control of the ship, including the camera, it feels a little bit drifty.

@pcmaster That is so cute! Thanks for sharing this :D

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Football Horror by wdebowicz 2018-04-25T20:44:39Z

Funny game idea, it was interesting to play a football game in first person while not getting eaten by zombies. A bit unfair, that you can take damage while the game displays "Goal", but you can make pretty far shots so that balances that out I guess^^ The sound design creates a nice mood, even if it's not scary.

Shootanoid by drludos 2018-04-29T12:22:32Z

I loved the simplicity, it shows that a game doesn't need much to be awesome :) The game has a good difficulty curve and it feels natural to play these two genres combined. It was really fun to play and kept me through to the end. Nice graphics sound and screenshake effects. A bit unfair though that you can be killed by spawning balls. Great entry!

Ascii paouf II by shubart 2018-04-24T20:41:36Z

Solid game! A highscore would be cool, and it could be a little harder :)

Left For Bait by fidrik 2018-04-25T08:00:21Z

Nice Game! Great job on combining an action shooter element with a normally boring fishing game. Really liked the art style. Have you considered mapping both actions to the left mouse button? Because you can only do one of both actions anyway. I got 540 :D

Jackhammer by jojocanard 2018-04-24T20:57:33Z

I really like the transformation part^^ Controls are a bit floaty, but I suppose it's because you are a Fishman. Cool game :)

Command Line Hero by BytingGames 2018-04-26T10:15:25Z

@Merrow Thank you for the positive feedback. Yes the music was made especially for the game and there is no real benefit of shooting containers, other than getting them out of the way. Yeah you could go further with the game by adding various elements, like you mentioned. I also thought of a few after the jam has ended.

Command Line Hero by BytingGames 2018-04-26T10:22:24Z

@hs-dave Thank you! We also thought about iterating through old commands, but couldn't decide if the player would be overusing this function so we didn't take the risk and dropped that feature. But you can copy and paste commands ;) I have implemented cardinal directions now, thanks (will be uploaded in a past-ludumdare update).

Command Line Hero by BytingGames 2018-04-27T08:01:11Z

@fidrik Pssssst...! ;)

Planet Escape by Merrow 2018-04-26T11:36:08Z

Really cool concept! It took me a while to get how it works, but then the idea is fun and reminds me a bit of FTL^^ The turn-based combat is a bit slow in my opinion. I find it cool that your lives are also your time limit inside your ship and that you can power systems with multiple batteries (which I didn't get at first). In my mind the arrows for the ship movement should point in the other direction, but I guess they show in which direction the engines blast. I got around stage 12 two times, and I am wondering if this is an endless game, or can you really escape if you would have survived more turns? And I found it a bit annoying to point with the mouse to plug cables, because you can only plug it in where the player stands anyway - so a key press would be better I suppose. Nice job :)

Monster Stew by Aaron Nemoyten 2018-04-29T08:22:09Z

Nice game! Nice mood, the controls were really good, the cooking part was a bit annoying and it feels like it is just in there to for the theme.. But it's fun to shoot enemies. And it's cool, that you gave the bullet the colors of Ludum Dare :)

Monster Stew by Aaron Nemoyten 2018-05-01T12:32:58Z

... Maybe being able to collect multiple cooking parts, so that you don't have to walk all the way back for each monster. Or making the whole ground your cooking pot, so you can throw enemies inside the abyss anywhere to cook. But then it would be more like a quest game, killing x amount of y... Hmm maybe explore the cooking part more, for example that you have to come up with an own recipe to fill the needs of the customers and the enemies have different flavours. I think it's not that easy to make a fun cooking game espacially if you mix it with a shooter in three days.. So yeah you did pretty good :) Oh the colors weren't on purpose xD

Of tennis and moustaches. by FranVadillo 2018-04-26T16:44:27Z

Really simple but funny game, nice that you put some story in it. I had to laugh after my cover fell. The setting is an awesome idea! I didn't get if I can control the distance/height of the ball, or only the direction - but it lead to a close matchpoint against my enemy^^ It would just be a tennis game with spamming q here and then, but with the setting it's more than that, simple but effective :)
