A bit hard to learn what you have to do, but once you do, it's pretty fun!

petra-the-kat 2021-04-26 03:55

I got a weird error... and I never figured out what to do :( But from what little I managed to play I liked it. I like the dual-purpose design; by removing an asteroid you keep it from being an anchor point. I imagine the endgame is a frantic scramble around to find the last asteroids needed to escape.

choppers 2021-04-26 04:08

@petra-the-kat Thanks, what sort of error was it?

blackopsben 2021-04-26 04:25

Are you supposed to be able to grapple and pull the shuttle toward you? Cause I did, and then this happened:

Anyway, other than that, cool mechanics! Nice color scheme too! More sound would help with the mood.

TODO: review game

choppers 2021-04-26 04:45

@blackopsben No, you're not meant to. Thanks for telling me about the error, I've fixed it now.

choppers 2021-04-26 04:45

@lakshyaisagod Thanks!

indigowolf 2021-04-26 13:35

That blackhole graphic is awesome. Nice work on the game in general.

lakea 2021-04-26 13:47

very good, really enjoyed playing it.

Interesting color palette! Good luck in compo! 2021-04-26_165053.png

I like the visuals and restricted color palette

harrison-dunn 2021-04-26 21:57

Good looking game. I played a few times and came nowhere close to winning though. I would guess there would be easier levels in a full feature? Great art. The color is well suited to the game.

choppers 2021-04-27 07:36

@harrison-dunn Thanks! Yeah, I didn't get much time for play testing, and had to guess on what was a good difficulty.

david-horning 2021-04-27 10:24

Really like the visuals. The gameplay took me a minute but it felt great once I got it. Nice work!

bytinggames 2021-04-27 10:28

Really liked this entry. Nice choice to put the graphics in that red colored style. The gameplay was interesting, because I felt like you had to do a little bit of strategizing on what asteroids to mine and what to keep for further exploration. A clear way to check how much time you have left would be nice (I didn't die because of the black hole, only because I depressurized my suit, where I'm not sure what that does really. On second try I got enough energy.). Good simple menu.

mahjoub 2021-04-27 10:34

Nice entry with nice choice of colors pallet and a original game idea. Well done!

gilborn 2021-04-27 12:09

Very cool art style! The picture ob the black hole getting bigger and bigger ist very good. The gameplay was fun, in my third try I managed to escape!

lesinvisible 2021-04-28 13:23

I liked the original idea and art execution, the game may be a little hard to get at first, but it's a very solid looking game.

pierce-brooks 2021-04-29 03:30

Game Maker 8!? What a fantastic throwback :) the background black hole scaling is very pleasant to look at.

runuchok 2021-04-30 04:15

Wow! That was fun! Nice gameplay concept, I liked that all elements are tied up! Grappling for movement and for gathering is a nice player decision-making aspect! Graphics are very suitable!

rawbits 2021-05-01 10:58

Nice game! What is does, it does solid. Would be nice to have an indicator of how much time left or something. And whats the depressurize button for? Is it a restart relly?

kinolebedev 2021-05-05 07:27

nice art style)

i think it is necessary to diversify the appearance of asteroids

talops 2021-05-13 16:45

I always love jam games that strongly take their palette choice into consideration. Going monochromatic here was a good idea and goes really well with your hostile, lonely and silent setting. I'd have chosen a less saturated red to ease up on the eyes a bit (since contrasting from black isn't too difficult, only having some very select, important elements like the ship be such a bright color would work best)

As for the gameplay, grappling around felt really slow but I really liked having to plan a return path in advance in order to not find myself over a screen away from any asteroid. Seeing the black hole grow bigger end bigger sends a nice chill down one's spine.

Simple, inventive and works really well, congrats!

Hey, this runs on Linux under Wine

I had fun playing this! Not sure if there was Audio or not, but it didn't play for me.

I liked the graphics and the general concept. On my first run I died because I ate too many asteroids, on the second one I made it all around the blackk hole (I think) but then got eaten by it. Is there a win condition that I missed? If not that would be very on theme!
