Yeah, I tried to play and got the same error. Seems you missed a few files when packaging your game for upload? @ me if you fix it and I'll give it another try.
@red @rumor this is my first game jam, sorry to deliver something with bugs, please try my game: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZAxUlkGlW40pjSgZk6xXJZ_o1GZe4SU6/view?usp=sharing
and inform me if you have questions, thank you so much for your comment.
Broken sorry, I'd love to review if I could get it to work
@hamsters-actually The Google Drive link worked for me; did you try that one?
Neat idea! The first level was hard because of how fast the bullets move, but the second level was really interesting. I was confused at first about how the second level works, but once I figured it out, it was a nice little challenge. The sound effect at the end surprised me, but I think it's a good choice for the narrative.
The first link doesn't work you might want to update it. the game is way too short, also narrative is too slow i can read it 6-7 times before next line comes.
The idea for the game is interesting, but for me it was really difficult to play. The first mini was way too fast for me, and I was never able to pass the second mini game. With a bit of polish, this can be a really cool game.
@hamsters-actually so sorry that I cannot upload the new version to itch.io(don't know why), therefore I need to upload it to google drive
Looks like the google drive version works!
I really like the second part of the gameplay with trying to get the right timing on the hack - it seems like that part has a lot of potential! I also love SHMUPs, but I was actually able to cheese that section by holding down the fire button, so that part could definitely use some polishing.
Ok I tried the google drive and it worked. So for the game, maybe have abit of better transitioning between each mode because it caught me off guard that it starts off with a dodge the bullet game. Overall nice work!
I enjoyed the challenge, but i do think you should lower the speed of the projectiles in the first part. Over all interesting concept and a bunch of fun, great job!
It didn't work, UnityPlayer.dll is missing on my computer. I don't have the newest version of unity installed and am running win7 64bit.
I would advise you to look at other bullet-hell games. The player character is much too big, meaning it's almost impossible to dodge the bullets. Also, the bullets move much too fast for the player to easily dodge. Also, it feels like the player character accelerates while moving. The controls feel imprecise.
An example from another game (not mine, just a random game from the internet):

I circled the hitbox of the ship in this game. The rest of the ship is just artistic fluff.
Too fast for me.
Nice job with your first Ludum Dare game! I like that you put in effort to write and include a story, but I think it could have more effectively served to tie the game together. As it was, other than the fact that the icon was a file folder, the story felt unconnected to the gameplay itself, and the two sections of gameplay felt disconnected from each other.
The strategy I ended up using to get past the first part was just spamming the spacebar, I would look at how other bullet hell games prevent that from being the winning strategy.
Minor thing: Can there please be a savepoint between the bullet hell and the packing puzzle? Going back to the beginning sucks.
Also, you are allowed to update the link in your original submission to the Google Drive one that works.
@eric-miller, thank you and probably because the jam ends so we can upload again. Thanks for the detailed comments, since now I have more time I can definitely polish it further
thank you guys again for all those comments, I like bullet-hell games, hope I can further modify my unpolished game now since the jam ends and I have infinite time for improving
